성인 남녀에서 외식을 통한 열량 섭취 정도에 따른 영양소 및 식품군별 섭취 상태 평가 : 2013~2014 국민건강영양조사 자료를 이용하여 (Evaluation of dietary intake in Korean adults according to energy intake from eating-out: Based on 2013~2014 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey)

  • 본 연구에서는 국가 단위 대규모의 데이터 (2013~2014년 국민건강영양조사 자료)를 활용하여 성인 남녀별 외식으로부터 섭취하는 열량의 사분위에 따른 군간 일반사항, 영양소 및 식품군별 섭취 상태를 분석하고, 영양소별 섭취 밀도 및 영양의 질적 지수를 평가하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 남녀 모두에서 외식을 통한 열량의 섭취 정도가 높은 성인일수록 연령이 유의적으로 낮았고, 음주 빈도, 가구소득 및 교육수준이 유의적으로 높은 결과를 보였다. 또한 외식을 통한 열량 섭취가 높은 남녀 성인에서 전체 열량 섭취량 및 지방의 섭취 밀도는 높게 나타난 반면, 식이섬유소, 비타민 $B_1$, 칼슘, 인, 칼륨 및 철과 같은 미량 영양소의 섭취 밀도는 유의적으로 낮은 결과를 보였으며, 비타민 $B_1$, 칼슘, 인 및 철의 INQ와 같은 식사의 질 지수 역시 유의적으로 낮게 나타났다. 식품군별 섭취 비율을 분석시 남녀 모두에서 외식을 통한 열량 섭취가 높은 군에서 육류, 음료 및 주류의 섭취 비율이 유의적으로 높았던 반면, 곡류, 채소류, 어패류 및 해조류의 섭취 비율은 유의적으로 낮게 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 식생활에서 외식이 차지하는 비율이 계속적으로 증가하고 있는 현 시점에서, 외식을 많이 하는 대상자와 관련된 전반적인 영양소 및 식품군별 섭취 상태를 파악할 수 있는 기초자료로써 활용될 것으로 예상된다.

사회경제적 수준에 따른 치아우식증 예방과 관련 인식조사: 한국갤럽자료를 활용하여 (Cognition of dental caries prevention by the level of the social economic status in Korea: Based on Gallup survey)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the cognition of dental caries prevention by the level of socioeconomic status based on Gallup survey in Korea. Methods: This study was done by Korean Gallup survey in October, 2010. A trained researcher carried out the computer aided telephone interview(CATI) using a structured questionnaire. This study was based on the latest population statistics of resident registration and whole country's phone data base. This survey included 869 selected Korean adults over 19 years old, and they were asked to answer a CATI. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects and socioeconomic factors including age, gender, education level, monthly income, and residential area. Cognition of dental caries prevention was measured by Likert 4 scale including 'much', 'a little', 'rarely', and 'never'. The attitude toward dental caries prevention consisted of daily tooth brushing frequency, experience of oral health education, regular dental checkup, chewing gums(xylitol), regular scaling, and use of oral care devices. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 for frequency analysis, t-test, chi-square test, and one way ANOVA. Cronbach's alpha was 0.462 in oral health concern and attitude. Results: Mean of the frequencies of daily tooth brushing in men was 2.54 times and 2.78 in women. By the comparison to age group, 35-44 years old group had 2.82 times, 19-37 years old group had 2.72 times, and 45-64 years old group had 2.51 times. The level of education and monthly income was proportional to the tooth brushing frequency. Highly educated and higher monthly income group received regular dental checkup within a year and used the auxiliary oral health care devices. Conclusions: This study suggested the relationship between dental caries prevention and socioeconomic status. It is important to provide the low socioeconomic group with the better oral health promotion services in the future.

영양표시 양식에 따른 소비자의 이해도와 선호도 조사연구 (A Study of the Comprehension and Preference of Consumers to Four Different Formats of Nutrition Label)

  • Nutrition label (NL) on the package of processed food provides consumers with a reliable and consistent source of information . It has been considered as a useful aid for food selection and a potent educational tool for nutrition in daily life. Since current nutrition labeling regulation in Korea does not define a format for presenting nutrition information a wide variety of NL format exists in the markers created by individual manufacturers. Development of standard NL format and its registration remain to be the work for the professionals and government officials. However the acceptance and evaluation of NL by the consumers is a very important and necessary process in the development of NL formats. In this study four different formats A, B, C, D were formulated based on currently circulating labels and new U.S.NL. Subjects used for evaluation of these formats were middle -aged highly educated housewives, who and the potential users of NL. Major parameters observed through the questionnare were their nutritional knowledge of RDA, ability of IC(Information Comparison) and CA (Comprehension and Application of informed nutrient contents), as well as their preference to the different formats. The results are summarized as follows. 1) Of the 178 subjects , 89.9% of the middleaged housewives were college graduates. Their nutrition knowledge of RDA were relatively satisfactory showing over 80% correlation on the basic concepts and unit while for numerical value less than 50% correct answer. 2) IC test scores were significantly different among the formats showing the highest values for format A and B which are presented as absolute value and % RDA, respectively. Format C presented as serving size(number of products) showed the lowest score. CA scores were also significantly different, though the increased load of information did not facilitate to increase the consumers comprehension. 3) RDA knowledge test scores and the scores of IA and CA were correlated in format A and D but not in format B and C suggesting % RDA presentation would be more acceptable to the less educated group. 4) For the preference in the aspects of easiness and time-saving format A was the best one then format D supporting the result of IC and CA test. The results of the present study indicate the most useful and preferred format is the simplest format presented as absolute value without RDA, . The secondly preferred format is the new NL format of the US with much information .

장기요양보호대상노인 가족부양자에 대한 개입의 효과성 (Effectiveness of Intervention for the Caregivers of Long-term Care Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 치매노인과 뇌졸중노인 가족부양자를 대상으로 집단차원의 교육/훈련프로그램을 실시한 후 개입의 효과성을 검토한 것이다. 연구내용은 프로그램 참여를 통한 개입의 효과성을 살펴보는 것으로, 사전사후검증의 타당성을 높이기 위해 유사 전-후 실험 통제집단 연구설계를 이용하였다. 사전사후검증을 모두 마친 가족들은 42명인데, 그 중 실험집단 17명, 통제집단 25명이었다. 개입의 효과성을 파악하기 위해 부양부담 척도와 주관적 삶의 질 척도를 사용하였다. 분석결과 프로그램에 참여했던 가족들은 개입 이후로 부양부담은 유의미한 수준에서 차이가 나타나지 않았지만, 주관적 삶의 질은 차이가 나타났다. 대상노인의 특성별로 분석한 결과를 보면, 치매노인, 노인의 상병기간이 짧을수록, 장애정도가 낮을수록 가족부양자의 삶의 질이 더 높아지는 경향을 나타냈다. 또한 가족의 특성별로는 남성, 고학력, 젊은 부양자일수록 삶의 질이 더 높아지는 경향이었다. 추가적으로 본 연구에서 효과성을 전제로 할 때 우선적인 개입이 필요한 취약한 가족부양자 집단을 확인하였고, 프로그램은 가족의 특성별로 특화하여 실시하는 것이 바람직하다는 점도 알 수 있었다.

보건소 중심의 건강교실 운영효과 분석 -임부 대상 교육을 중심으로- (Analysis on the Effects of Community Based Health Education Program for Pregnant Women)

  • This descriptive study aimed to determine the effects of community based health education program for pregnant women on their confidence in labor and breastfeeding. Data were obtained using several questionnaires and administered to 174 pregnant women who have participated (n=49) and have not participated(n=125) in health education program, and 244 mothers of infants who lived in one city in Kyunggi province. Summaries of finding were as follows; First, pregnant women who have participated in health education program showed significantly higher score in confidence in labor than those who have not. Also, confidence in labor was different according to the level of education. Second, pregnant women participated in health education program showed higher score in knowledge and attitude on breastfeeding, but the differences were not significant. Knowledge on breastfeeding was higher in multipara. More positive attitude on breastfeeding was found in working mothers and highly educated mothers. Third, $54.1\%$ of mothers continued breastfeeding over six months. Main reasons for discontinuing breastfeeding were lack of breast milk amount, and health problems in infants and mothers. In this study, we could identify the positive effects of health education program for pregnant women provided by public health center, and find the related factors of confidence in labor and breastfeeding. Community based health education program for pregnant women, especially for vulnerable group should be expanded.

치과에 내원하는 환자의 구강보건교육 유효도 평가 연구 (A Study on the Effectiveness Estimation for Oral Health Education of Dental Patients)

  • 본 연구는 전라북도에 소재하고 있는 구강진료기관에 내원한 만 18세 이상의 성인 환자 350명을 대상으로 구강보건교육에 대한 태도를 파악하여 진료실에서의 구강보건교육의 중요성을 재인식 시키고자 시행하였으며, 2004년 3월 22일부터 4일 10일까지 자기기입식에 의한 설문조사를 한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 치과환자들의 71.7%는 구강진료기관에 내원하는 이유가 구강병 치료를 위해서였으며, 구강건강 지식 습득 경로로는 매스컴 및 인터넷이 45.0%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 2. 구강건강에 대한 궁금증 해결에 관한 요구도는 여자가 남자보다, 학력이 높을수록, 직업에서는 전문직에서 높은 것으로 나타났다. 3. 구강보건교육은 치과인력 중 누구의 업무라고 생각하느냐는 질문에 대해 성별, 연령, 결혼여부에서 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 환자들이 인식하는 구강보건교육은 치과의사의 업무라는 응답이 가장 높게 나타났다.

운동선수의 구강악안면 외상 경험과 마우스 가드 착용과의 관련성 (The relationship between maxillofacial injury and the use of mouth-gards in athletes)

  • Objectives : This study was to investigate the use of mouth-guards and maxillofacial injuries and to examined the relationship among variables in athletes group. Methods : The subjects were 459(86.5%), who were 18 years or older with mean age of 20.7 years. Data was collected using a self administrated questionnaire from May 25 to June 15, 2009. We surveyed maxillofacial injuries(temporo-mandibular disorders contained) and mouth-guards usage and confidence concerning mouth-guards in athletes. The data were analysed with chi-square analysis, fisher's exact test and logistic regression using the SPSS 15.0 windows. Results : Prevalence of body or maxillofacial injuries experiences was 54.5% for athletes and 47.1% for non-athletes groups(p>0.05). The other hand, the incidence temporo-mandibular disorders was 67.0% for athletes and 49.8% for non-athletes groups(p<0.05). The experience of the use of mouth-guards was 83.3% for athletes and 78.8% for non-athletes, there were not significant differences between athletes and non-athletes groups (p>0.05). Risk factors found to be significantly related to the occurrence of maxillofacial injury were: unused mouth-guards(OR=2.83), no rules for use of mouth-guards(OR=2.46). Conclusions : Based on the findings, maxillofacial injuries experience is highly associated with mouth-guards usage, not only athletes also general people should be educated on the use of mouth-guard in order to reduce the incidence of maxillofacial injuries.

미국이민 한국인의 스트레스 반응 양상과 생활사건과의 상관 연구 (Correlation Study between Stress Responses and Life Events as a Stressor)

  • Koreans are one of the fastest growing immigrant groups in America. Stress responses and stressors among this large cultural minority has been rarely been studied by nursing researchers. Adjusting to life in foreign country produces a great deal of stress. Differences in culture, language, expectations and social behavior can lead to misunderstandings between health care providers and clients. These misunderstandings are not well accounted for in health assessment. This study investigated the relationship between life events or / and daily activities as a stressor and the symptoms of stress among a sample of Korean immigrants in America. The symptoms of stress scale (SOS) was used to identify stress responses and open-ended questions were used to identify life events and daily activities considered by the respondents to be stressful. A simple random sample of 283 subjects was selected from the Directory of the Korean Society of Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Seattle. Demographically, the subjects ranged in age from 20 to 69 years, and the percentage of women and men was approximately 50% each. Almost ninety percent of the subjects were highly educated, 17% owners of business, 19% white collar professionals, 14% employed in sales or as skilled /unskilled labor, 27% as housewives and students and 3% had no occupation. The total group SOS mean was 0.8042 ; the SOS men for man was 0.7371, and for women was 0.8713. The stress response of this subject group was high, -the stress response of women higher than that for men. In an earlier study(June, 1992) with another sample, the total mean SOS score was similar to this one. The main stressful life events or / and daily activities were, in order, economic problems (N=97), interpersonal problems (N=68), children care problems (N=258), health problems (N=49), communication problems (N=42), family problems (N=38), worry about future career (N=36), and religious problems (N=25). There was a significant difference in the SOS means between the group that expressed life events or / and daily activities to be stressful and the group that did not. Interpersonal relationships and economic and family problems were stressors for those who complained about peripheral manifestations. cardiopulmonary symptoms, central-neurological symptoms, gastrointestinal symptoms, muscle ten-sion, habitual patterns, depression, anxiety, emotional irritability and cognitive disorganization. In summary, interpersonal relationships and economic and family problems influenced stress response manifestations. Income, the number of people in the family, the year of immigration. the level of education, and marital status were related to physiological and psychosocial stress responses.

일부 농촌주민의 건강증진 생활양식 수행정도 (A Study of the Health Promoting Life Style in Rural Area)

  • 본 연구는 1995년 4월 1일부터 4월 30일까지 농촌지역인 청도군 각북면에 거주하는 20세에서 59세까지의 성인 1,252명 중 450명을 임의 추출하여 보건요원, 마을건강원, 보건진료원이 설문지로 직접 면담하여 조사한 411명을 대상으로 건강증진 생활양식 수행에 관련되는 여러 요인과의 관계를 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 지각된 현재의 건강상태는 나쁜 편이 연령이 증가할수록 높게 나타났고 여자군이 높게 나타났다. 건강 증진 생활양식의 문항별 수행정도를 보면 "전혀 수행하진 않음"에 50% 이상 응답한 문항은 "하루에 3번 이상 심호흡"과 "담배 피우지 않음"에서 였으며, 50% 이상이 "항상 수행함"에 응답한 문항은 "하루에 세끼식사를 거르지 않음", "집에서 정성껏 조리한 음식을 섭취한다", "아침식사는 곡 먹음", "내의는 면제품으로 입고 자주 갈아 입음"이었다. 지각된 현재의 건강상태별 건강증진 생활양식의 문항별 수행정도는 건강상태가 좋을수록 수행도가 높았고 "건강문제에 대해서 전문가와 상담"은 나쁜 건강 상태에서 수행정도가 높았다. 성별에 따른 건강증진 생활양식 수행전도는 남자군에서는 "마음을 터놓고 이야기 할 수 있는 친구 있음", "마음이 맞는 사람과 모임을 가짐", "자신감 있는 생활", 자신의 생활(직업)에 만족감을 느낌", "목표를 가지고 생활", "하루에 3번 이상 심호흡", "건강과 관련된 서적이나 신문기사를 관심 있게 읽음", "일주일에 서너번 적어도 20분 동안 활발하게 운동", "정상 체중유지를 위해 노력함" 문항이 높았고, 여자군에서는 "건강문제에 대해 전문가와 상담"과 "술을 과하게 마시지 않음" 문항이 높았다. 연령 다른 건강증진 생활양식 수행정도는 "아침식사는 꼭 먹음", "일찍 자고 일찍 일어남", "적당한 수면을 취함"은 연령이 증가할수록 수행도가 높았고 "취미", "여가선용", "청결", "건강과 관련된 서적 읽음"은 연령이 낮은 중에서 높은 수행도를 나타냈다. 종교유무에 따른 건강증진 생활양식 수행정도는 종교 있는 군이 "하루에 3번 이상 심호흡", "정기적 혈압측정", "건강에 해롭다고 알려진 음식은 먹지 않음", "평소에 바른 자세로 앉거나 걸음" 문항에서 수행도가 높았다. 학력에 다른 건강증진 생활양식 수행정도는, 학력이 높을수록 높았고, 낮은 학력을 가진 근에서는 "일찍 자고 일찍 일어남" 문항의 수행도가 높았다. 결혼 유무에 따른 건강증진 생활양식 수행정도는 미혼군이 "하루에 3번 이상 심호흡", "일주일에 서너번 적어도 20분 동안 활발하게 운동", "가금 자기만의 시간과 생활을 가지면서 여유를 찾음", "나름으로의 긴장과 압박감을 풀 수 있는 방법을 찾으려고 노력함", "활동시 신체 각 부위를 골고루 움직임" 문항에서 수행도가 높았고, 기혼군에서는 "정성껏 조리한 음식 섭취", "하루세끼 식사를 거르지 않음", "일찍 자고 일찍 일어남", 문항의 수행도가 높았다. 가족수에 따른 건강증진 생활양식 수행정도는 "목표를 가지고 생활" 문항은 가족수가 많을수록 수행도가 높았다. 가족 형태에 다른 건강증진 생활양식 수행정도는 핵가족에서 "건강과 관련된 서적이나 신문기사를 관심 있게 읽음", "긍정적인 사고방식으로 생활함", "여가시 좋아하는 취미활동을 함" 문항이 높은 수행도를 나타냈고 대가족에서는 "하루세끼 식사를 거르지 않음"과 "아침식사는 꼭 먹음" 문항이 높은 수행도를 나타냈다. 수행에 영향을 미치는 요인의 다변량분석 결과는 건강상태가 좋을수록, 학력이 높을수록, 나이가 많을수록 수행도가 높았고 결정계수는 14.6%였다.

수도권 지역 직장인의 음식 관련 스마트폰 어플리케이션 이용 실태와 만족도 (Usage and Satisfaction of Food-related Smartphone Applications of Office Workers in Seoul Area)

  • This study was conducted to figure the usage status and satisfaction of food-related smartphone applications by generic characteristics and food purchase attributes of Seoul area workers. The results show that health vitality-oriented group, married compared to single, those with higher eating-out expenses possess more food-related applications (p<0.05). The primary reason for the usage of food-related applications was the need for food-related information (53.7%). The highest application subjects in use were restaurant-related information and recipe information. The real-life aid food-related applications utilized most were also restaurant information (60.7%) and recipe information (28.3%). Health vitality-oriented respondents especially turned out to use nutrition information and food functionality information often (p<0.01), and recipes or calories & diet information usage frequency was higher in women than in men (p<0.001). Restaurant-related information were more frequently used by singles, highly educated, and those with high income and eating-out expenses (p<0.05). Satisfaction of food-related applications was normal (3.06), showing that the satisfactory level is not yet high. Satisfaction regarding purchase attributes showed that the health vitality-oriented group (3.19) was more satisfied compared to other groups (p<0.05), and women (3.16) were more satisfied that men (2.89) were (p<0.05). Inconveniences of food-related applications were highest in usage fee (3.29), simplicity of information (3.28), lack of reliability of information and need for update (3.10). The results of this study implies that various subdivisions of food-related applications users should be implemented; at the same time, food-related applications covering diverse subjects that regard each group's characteristics should be developed in order to utilize food-related knowledge and information as a marketing tool in the food industry; this can efficiently be done by paying attention to the quality of information and updates within applications.
