Controlling striated structure in Pt with RF zone refining method (백금 결정 성장시 줄무늬 구조 제어)

  • The study has been performed that the high purity of platinum crystal was grown by rf floating zone refined technique. Direct electric current was also present to examine the controlling striated structure during the sample grown. It has been proved that current and orientation could affect suppression of the striation structure in Pt. Substructure in Pt was thermally unstable and was able to be removed by the annealing technique.

  • Folates are involved in a variety of important biosynthesis by way of donating one carbon unit. Since folate metabolism was well understood a number of antifol have been developed. Among these antifols, aminopterin was first used in the treatment of childhood leukemia. However due to its toxicity and purity problems. it was immediately replaced by another antifols. methotrexate (MTX). MTX is shown to be active against various malignancies including leukemia breast cancer, osteogenic sarcoma, and head and neck cancer. Clinically, MTX therapy is divided into 3 categories. depeding on the dose administered; low-dose is defined as doses < $80\;mg/m^2$ intermediate-dose as doses $\geqq\;80\;mg/m^2$ and < $1000\;mg/m^2$ and high-dose as doses $\geqq\;1000\;mg/m^2$. Leucovorin should be administered to minimize MTX toxicities when MTX doses are greater than $80-100\;mg/m^2$. The clinical pharmacokinetics (ADME) of MTX is discussed in this text.

  • KRISS-V, a V-band millimeter-wave source module for a primary RF power standard and calibration system developed by the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science is here presented. The output power of KRISS-V is several times higher than that of commercial amplifier/multiplier chains and is highly stable (the standard deviations of output power are less than 0.01% in the worst case). The spectral purity of KRISS-V is high enough to consider it a single-tone signal generator. We also added programmable attenuation capability to KRISS-V for remote power control. Moreover, the in-house source module is cost-effective and adaptable to various measurement schemes. The structure of the model as well as detailed component information are introduced so that it can be reproduced.

  • Recently the problem of energy branch become worse increasingly. Therefore many researches about new energy source are processing in several places around are processing in several places around the world. Especially solar energy has many advantages like as purity and infinity. Photovoltaic(PV) system can be classified into two types : One is stand alone type and the other is utility interactive one. Utility interactive type PV system need some technology that Maximum peak power tracking(MPPT) and Anti-islanding and Active Power filter(APF). For APF operation dc-link voltage should be high to supply sufficient output current which needed for harmonic current compensation so usually DC-DC converter is used for boost. In this paper DC-DC converter for PV system and controller for dc-link voltage control are analyzed and designed.

Synthesis and Cathodoluminescence of ZnO Crystals with Baseball Bat Shape Through Oxidation of ZnS in Air Atmosphere (대기 분위기에서 ZnS의 산화에 의해 생성된 야구 배트 형상의 ZnO 결정과 음극선형광 특성)

  • ZnO crystals with a baseball bat shape were synthesized without any catalysts through a simple thermal oxidation of ZnS powder in alumina crucible under air atmosphere. SEM images demonstrated that the bat structure was composed of two pieces of ZnO crystals, i.e hexagonal-shaped rod and inverted cone-shaped rod. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern revealed that the ZnO crystals had wurtzite hexagonal structure. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectrum showed that the ZnO was of high purity. A strong green emission peak at 510 nm was observed in cathodoluminescece spectrum.

  • Recovery of pure cobalt and nickel from diverse resources is important due to the increased demand for these metals. In order to get cobalt and nickel with high purity, separation of them from other metal ions is necessary. In this review, several methods to obtain pure cobalt or nickel solution, such as solvent extraction, ion exchange, precipitation were introduced and compared. For solvent extraction, the advantage and disadvantage of the separation process together with detailed process conditions were investigated.

  • Thioltransferase, also known as glutaredoxin, was purified from Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris ssp. napus var. pekinensis) by a combination of ion-exchange chromatography and gel filtration. Its purity was confirmed by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and its molecular weight was estimated to be about 12,000 which is comparable with those of most known thioltransferases. The enzyme utilizes 2-hydroxyethyl disulfide, S-sulfocysteine, ${\alpha}-chymotrypsin$, insulin, and trypsin as substrates in the presence of reduced glutathione. The enzyme has Km values of 0.03-0.97 mM for these substrates. It appeared to contain dehydroascorbate reductase activity. The pH optimum of the enzyme was 8.5, when 2-hydroxyethyl disulfide was used as a substrate. It was greatly activated by reduced glutathione. Its activity was not significantly lost when stored at high temperature, indicating its thermostable character. It may play an important role in thiol-disulfide exchange in plant cells.

  • Blue emitting materials have been explored by various researchers. However, blue-emitting materials with high luminous efficiency, good color purity, and thermal stability are still much desired. In this study, we synthesized a new blue luminescent material, $SnDP(HPB)_2$ which is low molecular compound and thermal stability. The PL spectrum of $SnDP(HPB)_2$ was observed blue at the wavelength of 447nm. The ionization potential(IP) and the electron affinity(EA) of $SnDP(HPB)_2$ was measured to be 6.7 eV and 3.0 eV, respectively. The fundamental structure of the OLED was ITO/NPB/$SnDP(HPB)_2/Alq_3$/LiF/Al. As a Result, we obtained to enhance the performance of blue OLED.

Analysis of Trace Trichlorosilane in High Purity Silicon Tetrachloride by Near-IR Spectroscopy (근적외선 분광법을 이용한 고순도 SiCI4 중의 미량 불순물 SiHCI3의 분석)

  • The content of $SiHCl_3$ as a trace impurity in $SiCl_4$ was analyzed by Near IR spectrophotometer with optical fiber. The strong absorption bands of $5345{\sim}5116cm^{-1}$ and $4848{\sim}4349cm^{-1}$ were used for analysis of $SiHCl_3$, and the detection limit of impurity $SiCl_3$ was appeared to be 0.005 % in the spectrum. The quantitative analysis by Near IR spectrophotometry showed the analytical possibility of trace impurity in $SiCl_4$ without sample pre-treatment not only in the laboratory but also in the field.

  • Purpose: Concerns over the quantity of available freshwater for agriculture have triggered the development of technologies intended to increase efficiency of water use, especially with regard to irrigation. A new technique called fertirrigation has been developed to use the same irrigation equipment for fertilization. Methods: Since the above-mentioned technique requires care during installation and use on farms, current analysis focuses on some of its characteristics. Results: High uniformity irrigation systems provide the best distribution of fertilizers, especially when used in combination with drip irrigation or micro-aspersion. The factors purity, compatibility, acidification, salinity, and solubility should be taken into account. Conclusions: Fertirrigation provides a significant increase in productivity as it allows for highly controlled nutrient application during the entire growing season. However, it may cause serious problems if misused or overused.
