Filling materials poured into precast member joint are subjected to restraint stress by the precast member and joint reinforcement. The induced stress will likely cause cracks at early ages and performance degradation of the entire structure. To prevent these issues and design reasonable joints, it is very important to analyze and evaluate the restrained shrinkage cracks of filling materials at various restraint conditions. In this study, a new time zero-that defines the shrinkage development time of a filling material-is proposed to calculate the accurate amount of shrinkage. The tensile stresses and strengths at different ages were compared through the ring test (AASHTO PP34) to evaluate the crack potential of the restrained filling materials at various restraint conditions. The mixture which contained an expansive additive and a shrinkage reducing agent exhibited high resistance to shrinkage cracking owing to the high-drying shrinkage compensation effect. The high-performance, fiber-reinforced cement composite, and ultra-high-performance, fiber-reinforced cement composite yielded very high resistance to shrinkage and cracking owing to the pull-out property of steel fibers. To this end, multiple nonlinear regression analyses were conducted based on the test results. Accordingly, a modified tensile stress equation that considered both the geometric shape of the specimen and the intrinsic properties of the material is proposed.
Results of an experimental study on the manufacture, the mechanical properties and watertightness of pitch - based carbon fiber reinforced fly ash. cement composites are presented in this paper.
The carbon fiber reinforced fly ash. cement composites using early strength cement silica powder and a small amount of stylene butadiene rubber latex are prepared with carbon fiber, foaming agents and mixing conditions. As a result, the mechanical and physical properties such as compressive , tensile and flexural strengths, watertightness and drying shrinkage of lightweight carbon fiber reinforced fly ash cement composites are Improved by using a samll amount of stylene butadiene rubber latex. Military camps deal with various types of explosives. For instance, military engineering unit conducts education and training for laying landmines. However, in case of land mine craters installed with regular-level RC, structural safety may be in danger thus there is a necessity to utilize High Performance Fiber-Reinforced Cement Composites (HPFRCC), which has high functionality in protection and blast resistance. Therefore, in this research we conducted an field application of land mine crater of HPFRCC, using the existing optimal fiber mixing ratio and ERCO addition ratio.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of improvement on the impact resistance and strength properties of cement composites by surface modification of aramid fiber. For aramid fiber reinforced cement composites, therefore, dispersion capability and the bonding efficiency between the fibers and the cement composite material need to be improved. It is possible by modifying surface properties to hydrophobic, it is considered that oiling agent ratio of 1.2 % and improvement of performance is in need to be investigated. In this study, short aramid fibers were mixed by different fiber length and oiling agent ratio. And improvement of strength properties and impact resistance performance of hybrid cement composites were evaluated under the influence of steel fiber. As a result, strength properties of aramid fiber reinforced cement composites are different by mixing ratio of fiber, oiling agent ratio and length of fiber. In case of cement composites which have same volume fraction and fiber length, tensile strength and flexural strength were improved with increase of the emulsions throughput of the fiber surface. The results of evaluation on the static strength properties had effects on impact resistance performance by high-velocity impact. And it was observed that the scabbing of rear was suppressed with increase of the oiling agent ratio.

The purpose of this study is to investigate experimentally the material strength and tensile deformation behavior of highly ductile high-strength cement composites reinforced by synthetic fibers. Materials and mixture proportions were designed to make composites with a strength level of 80 MPa in compression. Two kinds of polyethylene fibers with different properties were employed as reinforcing fibers. A series of experiments on density, compressive strength, and deformation performance was performed. Experimental results showed that the tensile behavior and cracking patterns of cement composite strongly depends on the types of reinforcing fibers. It was also demonstrated that the cement composite with a compressive strength of 77.7 MPa and a tensile strain capacity of 7.9% can be manufactured by using a proper polyethylene fiber.
The purpose of this study is to develop fiber reinforced cement matrix composite (ECC) produced with limestone powder in order to achieve high ductility of the composite, and to evaluate flexural performance of structural members made with ECC. Four kinds of mixture proportions were determined on the basis of the micromechanics and a steady state cracking theory considering the matrix fracture toughness and fiber-matrix interfacial characteristics. The mechanical properties of ECC, represented by strain-hardening behavior in uniaxial tension, were investigated. Also, strength property of the composite was experimentally evaluated. Two structural members made with ECC were produced and tested. Test results were compared with those of conventional concrete structural members. Increased limestone powder contents of ECC provides higher ductility of the composites while generally resulting in a lower strength property. ECC structural members exhibited higher flexural ductility, higher flexural load-carrying capacity and tighter crack width compared to conventional structural members.

This study was based on an experiment that examines the manufacture and performance of fiber-reinforced cement composite panels. The conclusions were drawn after testing the mechanical properties and durability characteristics of fiber-reinforced mortar, and the mechanical properties and fire resistance of ECC fire resistant column panels. It was found that the fluidity of CEL fiber was lower than that of PVA and NY fiber. The amount of air increased slightly as the combination of fibers caused the number of fine pores to increase. It was found that the mechanical performance and deformability of high strength concrete could be improved through the confinement effect of ECC fire resistant column panels. Through continuous studies on the manufacturing and field construction methods of fire resistant column panels, a new PC method that eliminates weakness in the existing processes may be developed for skyscrapers.

This paper discusses how steel cord and PVA hybrid fibers enhance the performance of high performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites (HPRFCC) in terms of elastic limit, strain hardening response and post peak of the composites. The effect of microfiber(PVA) blending ratio is presented. For this purpose flexure, direct tension and split tension tests were conducted. It was found that HFRCC specimen shows multiple cracking in the area subjected to the greatest bending tensile stress. Uniaxial tensile test confirms the range of tensile strain capacity from 0.5 to $1.5\%$ when hybrid fiber is used. The cyclic loading test results identified a unique unloading and reloading response for this ductile composite. Cyclic loading in tension appears not to affect the tensile response of the material if the uniaxial compressive strength during loading is not exceeded.

The purpose of this study is to investigate experimentally the compressive strength and tensile behavior of cement composites reinforced by selvedge short fiber from high performance fabric. Four types of mixtures according to the types of selvedge short fibers were prepared and compressive strength and tension tests were performed. Test results showed that the compressive strength values of composites investigated in this study ranged from 64 MPa to 66 MPa and all composites showed strain-hardening behavior. The tensile strain capacity values of composites ranged from 2.6 % to 2.8 % and multiple cracking behavior was observed in all composites.
Prefabricated exterior wall panel is the main non-load-bearing component of assembly building, which affects the comprehensive performance of thermal insulation and durability of the building. It is of great significance to develop new prefabricated exterior wall panel with durable and lightweight characteristics for the development of energy-saving and assembly building. In the prefabricated sandwich insulation hanging wall panel, the selection of material for the outer layer and the arrangement of the connector of the inner and outer wall layers affect the mechanical performance and durability of the wall panels. In this paper, high performance cement-based composites (HPFRC) are used in the outer layer of the new type wall panel. FRP bars are used as the interface connector. Through experiments and analysis, the influence of the arrangement of connectors on the mechanical behaviors of thin-walled composite wall panel and the panel with window openings under two working conditions are investigated. The failure modes and the role of connectors of thin-walled composite wallboard are analyzed. The influence of the thickness of the wall layer and their combination on the strain growth of the control section, the initial crack resistance, the ultimate bearing capacity and the deformation of the wall panels are analyzed. The research work provides a technical reference for the engineering design of the light-weight thin-walled and durable composite sandwich wall panel.
