Variable-Speed Prime Mover Driving Three-Phase Self-Excited Induction Generator with Static VAR Compensator Voltage Regulation-Part H : Simulation and Experimental Results-

  • This paper presents the digital computer performance evaluations of the three-phase self-excited induction generator (SEIG) driven by the variable speed prime mover such as the wind turbine using the nodal admittance approach steady-state frequency domain analysis with the experimental results. The three-phase SEIG setup is implemented for small-scale rural renewable energy utilizations. The experimental performance results give a good agreement with those ones obtained from the digital computer simulation. Furthermore, a feedback closed-loop voltage regulation of the three-phase SEIG as a power conditioner which is driven by a variable speed prime mover employing the static VAR compensator (SVC) circuit composed of the thyristor phase controlled reactor (TCR) and the thyristor switched capacitor(TSC) is designed and considered herein for the wind-turbine driven the power conditioner. To validate the effectiveness of the SVC-based voltage regulator of the terminal voltage of the three-phase SEIG, an inductive load parameter disturbances in stand-alone are applied and characterized in this paper. In the stand-alone power utilization system, the terminal voltage response and thyristor triggering angle response of the TCR are plotted graphically. The simulation and the experimental results prove the effectiveness and validity of the proposed SVC which is controlled by the Pl controller in terms of fast response and high performances of the three-phase SEIG driven directly by the rural renewable energy utilization like a variable-speed prime mover.

  • With the ever increasing clock frequency and integration level of CMOS circuits, I/O(input/output) and interconnect issues are becoming a growing concern. In this thesis, we propose the 2.5Gbps high speed input driver This driver consists of four different blocks, which are the high speed serializer , PECL(pseudo emitter coupled logic) Line Driver, PLL(phase lock loop) and pre-emphasis signal generator. The proposed pre-emphasis block will compensate the high frequency components of the 2.5Gbps data signal. Using the pre-emphasis block, we can obtain 2.5Gbps data signal with differential peak to peak voltage about 900 m $V_{p.p}$ This driver structure is on fabrication in 2.5v/10.25um 1poly, 5metal CMOS process.

IDEA 알고리즘을 이용한 고속 암호 VLSI 설계 (A Design of the High-Speed Cipher VLSI Using IDEA Algorithm)

  • 본 논문은 IDEA 알고리즘을 사용한 고속 암호 IC의 설계에 관한 것이다. IDEA 알고리즘을 회로로 구현하기 위하여 전체 회로를 6개의 주요 기능블럭으로 분할하여 설계하였다. 주요 블록으로 암호키 및 복호키 생성부, 입력 데이터 처리부, 암호화 처리부, 출력 데이터 처리부, 그리고 동작모드 제어부 등이 있나. 서브키 생성회로는 연간속도보다 회로면적을 축소시키는 방향으로 설계한 반면, 암호화 처리부는 회로면적보다 연산속도를 증가시키는 방향으로 설계목표를 정했다. 따라서 반복연산에 적합한 파이프라인 구조와 연간속도를 향상시키는 모듈라 승산기를 채택하였다. 특히, 많은 연산시간이 소요되는 모듈라 승산기는 연산속도를 증가시키기 위하여 캐리선택 가산기 및 modified Booth 승 산 알고리즘을 사용하여 한 클럭에 동작하도록 설계하였다. 또한, 입력 데이터 처리부는 데이터를 동작모드에 따라 8-bit, 167-bit 32-bit 단위로 받아들이기 위하여 데이터 버퍼가 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit 씩 이동할 수 있도록 하였다. 0.25$\mu\textrm{m}$ 공장기술을 사용하여 시뮬레이션한 결과, 이 IC는 큰 면적을 요구하지 않으면서도 1Gbps 이상의 throughput을 달성하였으며, 회로구현에 약 12,000gates가 소요되었다.

공중 풍력발전 기술개발 현황 및 시장전망 (Technical Development Status and Market Prospects for High Altitude Wind Power Generation System)

  • The wind speed at the altitude around 300 m is much higher and less variable than at the altitude around 80 m which is the same height of the MW class tower turbine's hub height. The wind power density is increased 0.37 W/$m^2$ per meter at the altitude around 6 to 7 km and 0.25 W/$m^2$ per meter at the altitude around 80 to 500 m. There are two types of power generation systems using lifting bodies. The one is that The generator is installed in the ground station and stretched into the lifting body through the tether. The other is that the generator is installed in the lifting body and stretched into the ground station through the tether. Many kinds of lifting bodies are also researched in the world, called kites, wings, single or twin aerostat, and so on. This article introduced the technical development status and the market prospects of the high altitude wind power generation system all over the world in detail.

  • 본 논문에서는 Xilinx GTP 인터페이스와 DDR-2 메모리를 이용하여 개발된 고속 데이터 처리 유닛의 시험 결과를 제시하였다. 고속 데이터 처리 유닛은 1.25Gbps로 수신된 데이터를 메모리에 저장하며 이 데이터는 다시 700Mbps로 수신 저장 시스템으로 전송된다. 따라서 고속의 데이터 처리를 위해서 CPU 대신에 FPGA가 직접 메모리를 읽고 쓸 수 있도록 DDR-2 메모리 제어기를 구현 하였다.

  • Many kinds of dynamic absorbers have been used to reduce the vibration of machineries and structures. In the typical ones, however low damping capacity, durability and limited install condition restrict their application. In this study, high damped dynamic absorber was proposed for diesel generator set. Developed absorber is composed with mass and coil springs. Silicone oil was filled inside the narrow gap between mass and casing. Viscous damping of silicon oil act as additional damping so that proposed dynamic absorber is suitable for D/G set which have adjacent resonance frequency to operation speed. The performance of the dynamic absorber was confirmed through the actual test on diesel engine generator set.

4-PAM signaling을 이용한 high speed serial link transmitter (High Speed Serial Link Transmitter Using 4-PAM Signaling)

  • 본 논문은 multi-level signaling을 이용한 high speed serial link transmitter에 관하여 제안하였다. High speed serial link에서 수 Gb/s를 달성하기 위해 4-pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) 을 사용하였다. 4-PAM은 4개의 level로 한 symbol time에 2 bit data를 전송함으로써 binary signaling보다 2배 빠른 data 전송이 가능해졌다. 제안된 4-PAM transmitter는 전압 output 대신 전류 output을 생성하며 이로 인해 driver의 switching time이 빨라져서 더 높은 속도의 transmitter를 구현할 수 있었다. $2^5-1$ pseudo-random bit sequence (PRBS) 생성기는 built-in self test (BIST)를 하기 위해 on-chip으로 설계되었다. 본 연구는 동부 하이텍 $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS 공정을 통하여 설계되었으며 1.8 V supply voltage에서 eye 크기가 160 mV 이고 최대 동작 속도는 8 Gb/s이다. 칩 전체 면적은 $0.7\times0.6mm^2$이며 전력 소모는 98 mW이다.

  • In this study, three dimensional cutting force components and surface roughness appeared in high speed cutting by using tungsten carbide endmill tools implanted ion or not found mutual relations through several analysis of statistical dispersion. It is showed that cutting force(Fx) is affect with spindle speed and feed rate, cutting force(Fy) is affect with spindle speed and ion implantation time and cutting force(Fz) is affect with feed rate in interaction through the statistical method of ANOVA of cutting force and surface roughness, it is analyzed that it is affected of spindle speed and feed rate in surface roughness.

  • Railway track supports and guides train and it directly affects ride quality and safety. To maintain track quality, regular maintenance activity is essential but it degrades track usage since maintenance activity occupies the track during the work. To achieve maximum track efficiency, track inspection should be performed at commercial running speed. In this paper, we designed and developed high speed rail profile measurement system using laser light sectioning method with line laser generator, digital camera and DSP based image processing system. The measurement system can supports rail profile measurement at the speed of 300 Km/h that can be applied to KTX.

회전자 속도에 따라 변하는 게인에 기반한 가변속 풍력발전기 출력 평활화 (Power Smoothing of a Variable-Speed Wind Turbine Generator Based on the Rotor Speed-Dependent Gain)

  • In a power grid that has a high penetration of wind power, the highly-fluctuating output power of wind turbine generators (WTGs) adversely impacts the power quality in terms of the system frequency. This paper proposes a power smoothing scheme of a variable-speed WTG that can smooth its fluctuating output power caused by varying wind speeds, thereby improving system frequency regulation. To achieve this, an additional loop relying on the frequency deviation that operates in association with the maximum power point tracking control loop, is proposed; its control gain is modified with the rotor speed. For a low rotor speed, to ensure the stable operation of a WTG, the gain is set to be proportional to the square of the rotor speed. For a high rotor speed, to improve the power smoothing capability, the control gain is set to be proportional to the cube of the rotor speed. The performance of the proposed scheme is investigated under varying wind speeds for the IEEE 14-bus system using an EMTP-RV simulator. The simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme can mitigate the output power fluctuation of WTGs caused by varying wind speeds by adjusting the control gain depending on the rotor speed, thereby supporting system frequency regulation.
