A Study on Human-friendly Path Decision using Fuzzy Logic (퍼지 로직을 이용한 인간 친화적인 경로 설정에 관한 연구)

  • Recently many cars are equipping a navigation system. The main purpose of the early system guides a user through the route. A navigation system includes various abilities by development of various technologies and it has given more convenience to user. It can play various records on the tape and announces which are useful information about each road. Also it can use various multi-media contents by DMB device during driving. However, guide function of basic and important road in the navigation system has not grown greatly yet. In this paper, we proposed recommendation method of human-friendly road considering user's condition through various information of outside environment, user's velocity intention, a driver's emotion and a preference of the road. Modules consists of hierarchical structure that can easily correct and add each algorithm and those use fuzzy logic algorithm.

Development of Competitive Port Model Using the Hybrid Mechanism of System Dynamic Method and Hierarchical Fuzzy Process Method (SD법과 HFP법의 융합을 이용한 항만경쟁모델의 개발)

  • If a system such as a port has a large boundary and complexity, and the system's substance is considered as a black box, forecast accuracy will be very low. Futhermore various components in a port exert significant influence on each other. To copy with these problem the form of structure models were introduced by using SD method. The Competitive Ports Model had several sub-systems consisting of each Unit Port models, and each Unit Port model was made by quantitative, qualitative factors and their feedback loops. The fact that all components of one port have influence on the components of the other ports should be taken into account to construct Competitive Port Models. However, with the current approach that is impossible, and in this paper therefore, models were simplified by HFP adapted to integrate level variables of unit port models. Although many studies on modelling of port competitive situation have been conducted, both theoretical frame and methodology are still very weak. In this study, a new algorithm called ESD(Extensional System Dynamics) for the evaluation of port competition was presented, and applied to simulate port systems in northeast asia.

  • Intelligent Wearable Module is intelligent system that arises when a human is part of the feedback loop of a computational process like a certain control system. Applied system is mobile robot. This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by Intelligent Wearable Module. So far, owing to the development of 802.l1b technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment. The information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the combination of Neuro and Hierarchical Fuzzy Algorithm

  • Intangibility, measurement difficulty and irreversibility, which are the characteristics of service, have such problems as obscurity and uncertainty in quality evaluation. Technical entrepreneurship education, a sort of public service, also contains such characteristics of service. To objectively evaluate the service quality of technical entrepreneurship education, this paper drew up factors as hierarchical structure, centered on FAHP technique, and conducted pre-processing, inputted those factors into triangular fuzzy number fuzzy judgement matrix, and calculated their weights. In this manner, this paper proposed a TESE system, through which an analysis can be conducted by drawing relative importance and priorities of the factors. The proposed system can efficiently evaluate the qualitative technical start-up education service quality factors quantitatively in the diversely changing technical start-up environment in view of the highest result quality (41%), which means performance in the relative importance of major factors. Namely, this paper confirmed that clear decision making can be made through an experiment.

On the Evaluation of Physical Distribution Service in Ports (항만물류서비스의 평가에 관하여)

  • It is required to consider pricing and non-pricing factors and external economy in order to achieve the objects of physical distribution system in a port. Recently, among the three factors, much attention has been paid to non-pricing factor in the system. Although physical distribution service in a port(PDSP)has been frequently mentioned in documents and literature related to port and shipping studies, few study on it has not been systematically and scientifically made due to the following problems; $\circ$ there are not proper criteria to evaluate level and quality of PDSP and as a result it is difficult to set up a unified standard for doing so. $\circ$ algorithms to evaluate problems with complex and ambiguous attributes and multiple levels in PDSP are not available. This thesis aims to establish a paradigm to evaluate PDSP and to abvance existing decision making methods to deal with complex and ambiguous problems in PDSP. To tackle the first purpose, extensive and thorough literature survey was carried out on general physical distribution service, which is a corner stone to handle PDSp. In addition, through interviews and questionnaire to the expert, it have extracted 82 factors of physical distribution service in a port. They have been classified into 6 groups by KJ method and each group defined by the expert's advice as follows; a. Potentiality b. Exactness c. safety d. Speediness e. Convenience f. Linkage Prior to the service evaluation, many kinds of its attributes must be identified on the basis of rational decision owing to complexity and ambiguity inherent in PDSP. An analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is a method to evaluate them but it is not applicable to PDSP that have property of non-additivity and overlapped attributes. Therefore, probablility measure can not be used to evaluate PDSP but fuzzy measure is required. Hierarchical fuzzy integral method, which is merged AHP with fuzzy measure, is also not effective method to evaluate attributes because it has vary complicated way to calculate fuzzy measure identification coefficient of attributes. A new evaluation algorithm has been introduced to solve problems with multi-attribute and multi-level hierarchy, which is called hierarchy fuzzy process(HFP).Analysis on ambiguous aspects of PDSP under study which is not easy to be defined is prerequisite to evaluate it. HFP is different from algorithm existed in that it clarified the relationship between fuzzy measure and probability measure adopted in AHP and that it directly calculates the family of fuzzy measure from overlapping coefficient and probability measure to treat and evaluate ambiguous and complex aspects of PDSP. A new evaluation algorithm HFP was applied to evaluate level of physical distribution service in the biggest twenty container port in the world. The ranks of the ports are as follows; 1. Design of Hierarchically Structured Clustering Algorithm and its Application (계층 구조 클러스터링 알고리즘 설계 및 그 응용)

  • In many cases, clustering algorithms have been used for extracting and discovering useful information from non-linear data. They have made a great effect on performances of the systems dealing with non-linear data. Thus, this paper presents a new approach called hierarchically structured clustering algorithm, and it is applied to the prediction system for non-linear time series data. The proposed hierarchically structured clustering algorithm (called HCKA: Hierarchical Cross-correlation and K-means clustering Algorithms) in which the cross-correlation and k-means clustering algorithm are combined can accept the correlationship of non-linear time series as well as statistical characteristics. First, the optimal differences of data are generated, which can suitably reveal the characteristics of non-linear time series. Second, the generated differences are classified into the upper clusters for their predictors by the cross-correlation clustering algorithm, and then each classified differences are classified again into the lower fuzzy sets by the k-means clustering algorithm. As a result, the proposed method can give an efficient classification and improve the performance. Finally, we demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed HCKA via typical time series examples.

  • This paper addresses a control architecture for the hospital service robot, SmartHelper. With a sensing-reasoning-acting paradigm, the deliberation takes place at planning layer while the reaction is dealt through the parallel execution of operations. Hence, the system presents both a hierarchical and an heterarchical decomposition, being able to show a predictable response while keeping rapid reactivity to the dynamic environment. The deliberative controller accomplishes four functions which are path generation, selection of navigation way, command and monitoring. The reactive controller uses fuzzy and potential field method for robot navigation. Through simulation under a virtual environment IGRIP, the effectiveness of the control architecture is verified.

  • This paper presents a facial expression control method of 3D avatar that enables the user to select a sequence of facial frames from the facial expression space, whose level of details the user can select hierarchically. Our system creates the facial expression spare from about 2,400 captured facial frames. But because there are too many facial expressions to select from, the user faces difficulty in navigating the space. So, we visualize the space hierarchically. To partition the space into a hierarchy of subspaces, we use fuzzy clustering. In the beginning, the system creates about 11 clusters from the space of 2,400 facial expressions. The cluster centers are displayed on 2D screen and are used as candidate key frames for key frame animation. When the user zooms in (zoom is discrete), it means that the user wants to see mort details. So, the system creates more clusters for the new level of zoom-in. Every time the level of zoom-in increases, the system doubles the number of clusters. The user selects new key frames along the navigation path of the previous level. At the maximum zoom-in, the user completes facial expression control specification. At the maximum, the user can go back to previous level by zooming out, and update the navigation path. We let users use the system to control facial expression of 3D avatar, and evaluate the system based on the results.

Hierarchical Visualization of the Space of Facial Expressions (얼굴 표정공간의 계층적 가시화)

  • This paper presents a facial animation method that enables the user to select a sequence of facial frames from the facial expression space, whose level of details the user can select hierarchically Our system creates the facial expression space from about 2400 captured facial frames. To represent the state of each expression, we use the distance matrix that represents the distance between pairs of feature points on the face. The shortest trajectories are found by dynamic programming. The space of facial expressions is multidimensional. To navigate this space, we visualize the space of expressions in 2D space by using the multidimensional scaling(MDS). But because there are too many facial expressions to select from, the user faces difficulty in navigating the space. So, we visualize the space hierarchically. To partition the space into a hierarchy of subspaces, we use fuzzy clustering. In the beginning, the system creates about 10 clusters from the space of 2400 facial expressions. Every tine the level increases, the system doubles the number of clusters. The cluster centers are displayed on 2D screen and are used as candidate key frames for key frame animation.
