Fly Ash in concrete is known to be effective in improving workability, the reduction of heat of hydration, increasing the long-term compressive strength, and improving durability. Recently, fly ash is consedered an essential material for the high-strength concrete. In this paper, investigations for the strength and workability characteristics was carried out when fly ash was used in the high-strength concrete. As the result, fly ash was effective in increasing the long-term compressive strength, but the short-term compressive strength was gradually decreased with increating fly ash contents. And also the use of superplasticzers was required for providing the proper workability when fly ash contents were increased. The optimum content of fly ash was about 10%.

In this study, it was founded to make the optimal mixture for producing concrete which is self-compacting, yet, and generates low heat of hydration by using fly ash, blast furnace slags and limestone powders as binders in addition to cement while using super-plasticizers and viscosity agents as admixture agents. The structural behaviors of the concrete produced with the selected mixture were compared with those of the concrete currently using for construction of nuclear power plants. The study shows that the blended high fluidity concrete including limestone is better in workability and durability than the concrete currently in use for nuclear power plants.

In this study, nano-sized C-S-H crystals were synthesized using the liquid phase reaction method and their properties were investigated. The synthesized C-S-H crystals were added to the cement composite in suspension form to determine their effect on the hydration properties of the cement. The amount of chemical admixture was varied to obtain nano-sized C-S-H crystals with optimal agglomerated morphology, and SEM photographs were analyzed. A cleaning process was added to remove harmful substances other than the synthesiz ed C-S-H crystals. It was found that the concentration of harmful substances was reduced in the case of C-S-H crystals subjected to the cleaning process. The synthesized C-S-H suspensions were prepared with and without the cleaning process, and cement composites were prepared with the cement weight content as the main variable. The effect of C-S-H crystals on the initial hydration properties of the cement was confirmed by microhydration heat analysis. In addition, mortar specimens were prepared to measure the compressive strength over time. The test results showed that the nano-sized C-S-H crystals act as nucleation sites in the cement paste to promote the early hydration of the cement and increase the early compressive strength.

Recently, the press and institute recognized fly ash as it had excellent performance. Its research and applications are on the rise largely as a substitute for cement. On the contrary, it is in a situation that the regulation of high fineness fly ash remains at a low level. As for the fly ash in $3,000{\sim}4,500\;cm^2/g$ class fineness regulated in KS L 5405, it is used by substituting it around the unit weight of cement 20%. Accordingly, the regulation in upper classification is in a situation of being insufficient. Therefore, this study aimed to establish 4000, 6000, and 8000 class of fineness of fly ash and three levels of substitute like 15%, 30%, and 45% in order to analyze the substitute and effect of water-binder ratio for fly ash that affected the properties of ternary system concrete. As a result of experiment by planning water-binder ratio for two levels like 40% and 50%, the more replacement ratio and fineness of fly ash increased in the performance not hardened, the more the fluidity increased. This study has found out that the air content decreased, and that there was setting acceleration and it decreased the heat of hydration. In addition, as for the strength properties in a state of performance hardened concrete, the more the replacement ratio and the ratio of water-binding materials increased, the more it had a tendency of being decreased.

High-rise, large-scale, and diversification of buildings are possible, and the reduction of concrete cross-sections reduces the weight of the structure, thereby increasing or decreasing the height of the floor, securing a large number of floors at the same height, securing a large effective space, and reducing the amount of materials, rebar, and concrete used for designating the foundation floor. In terms of site construction and quality, a low water binder ratio can reduce the occurrence of dry shrinkage and minimize bleeding on the concrete surface. It has the advantage of securing self-fulfilling properties by improving fluidity by using high-performance sensitizers, making it easier to construct the site, and shortening the mold removal period by expressing early strength of concrete. In particular, with the rapid development of concrete-related construction technology in recent years, the application of ultra-high-strength concrete with a design standard strength of 100 MPa or higher is expanding in high-rise buildings. However, although high-rise buildings with more than 120 stories have recently been ordered or scheduled in Korea, the research results of developing ultra-high-strength concrete with more than 130 MPa class considering field applicability and testing and evaluating the actual applicability in the field are insufficient. In this study, in order to confirm the applicability of ultra-high-strength concrete in the field, a preliminary experiment for the member of a reduced simulation was conducted to find the optimal mixing ratio studied through various indoor basic experiments. After that, 130 MPa-class ultra-high-strength concrete was produced in a ready-mixed concrete factory in a mock member similar to the life size, and the flow characteristics, strength characteristics, and hydration heat of concrete were experimentally studied through on-site pump pressing.
Purpose: Research and development of high-strength concrete enables high-rise buildings and reduces the self-weight of the structure by reducing the cross-section, thereby reducing the thickness of beams and slabs to build more floors. A large effective space can be secured and the amount of reinforcement and concrete used to designate the base surface can be reduced. Method: In terms of field construction and quality, the effect of reducing the occurrence of drying shrinkage can be confirmed by studying the combination of low water bonding ratio and minimizing bleeding on the concrete surface. Result: The ease of site construction was confirmed due to the high self-charging property due to the increased fluidity by using high-performance water reducing agents, and the advantage of shortening the time to remove the formwork by expressing the early strength of concrete was confirmed. These experimental results show that the field application of ultra-high-strength concrete with a design standard strength of 100 MPa or higher can be expanded in high-rise buildings. Through this study, we experimented and evaluated whether ultra-high-strength concrete with a strength of 130 MPa or higher, considering the applicability of high-rise buildings with more than 120 floors in Korea, could be applied in the field. Conclusion: This study found the optimal mixing ratio studied by various methods of indoor basic experiments to confirm the applicability of ultra-high strength, produced 130MPa ultra-high strength concrete at a ready-mixed concrete factory similar to the real size, and tested the applicability of concrete to the fluidity and strength expression and hydration heat.
The construction of underwater structures has been increased, but underwater concrete hassome problems of quality deterioration and contamination around in-situ of civil and architecture; therefore, new materials and methods for them are demanded. In this paper in-situ application of underwater antiwashout concrete which is manufactured for trio purpose of not only decreasing suspended solids and the heat of hydration but also increasing long term strength was studied. In the case of mock-up test(Ⅰ), when underwater antiwashout concrete, whose slump flow was 58 cm, was placed in the mock-up test at a speed of 24 ㎥/hr, it took about a minute to flow to the side wall, and the surface was maintained at horizontal level. In this case, compressive strength of the core specimens in each section was higher than the standard design compressive strength of 240 kgf/㎠. In the case of mock-up test(II), pH value and suspended solids of high strength underwater antiwashout concrete were 10.0∼11.0 and 51 mg/ℓ at 30 minutes later, initial and final setting time were about 30, 37 hr, and the slump flow of that was 53$\pm$2 cm. In the placement at a speed of 27 ㎥/hr, there was no large difference in flowing velocity, with or without reinforcement and flowing slope was maintained at horizontal level. In this case, compressive strength and elastic modulus of the core specimens somewhat decreased as flowing distance was far : however, those of central area showed the highest value.

Slip form method is applied to many cases of a shaft these days because it is safer, more economical and faster than cast-in-place method. Slip-up height of the method is approximately 2.5 to 4.0 m/day. If the temperature of concrete is outside the range of 10 to 30℃, the effects of changes in strength or elastic characteristics are significant. Therefore, it is difficult for slip-up speed to be higher than 3 m/day during winter construction. In addition, concrete has heat caused by hydration, which causes temperature cracking of hardened concrete. Therefore, temperature control of concrete curing is necessary for the continuous slip-up of slip form. In this study, the rebound hardness, time of ultrasonic waves propagation, heat of hydration, and external temperature are measured by developing heating panels and test devices for the continuous slip-up. Based on this, heating slip form is manufactured; this was applied to "Kimpo sites" and "Sinwol sites". The compared slip-up speed samples were 1.9 m/day or 0.200 m/hr on average at Gimpo sites (08:00~17:30) and 2.0 m/day or 0.210 m/hr at Sinwol sites.

In this study, the development of concrete preventing initial frost damage and durability about that were evaluated by using anti-aging agent and admixture(reduced slag). As a result of experiment, initial hydration heat was increased by $C_{12}A_7$ of reduced slag components but it was not effective to development of strength. Also fluidity decreased with increasing replacement of reduced slag. This suggested that fluidity was low by rapid setting due to absent of gypsum in reduced slag components. In case of CR2G specimen that added 4% gypsum, the flow ability was higher than plain. It is considered that concrete developed using reduced slag should use $SO_3$. Result of durability experiments, the durability decreased with increasing replacement amount of reduced slag.
