  • Purpose - This study investigated not only social network service (SNS) characteristics' effects on continuous use intention and reliability, but also the effects of continuous use intention and reliability on purchase intention. Research design, data, and methodology - The subjects comprised 274 SNS users in their twenties. The research was conducted over three weeks from October 16, 2013 to November 6, 2013, using questionnaires. A total of 267 copies were collected; 255 copies were used after excluding unsuitable copies. Results - Marketers who used SNSs should establish a bi-directional community and SNS page information exchange. SNS marketers should exchange useful information quickly through SNS pages, to differentiate themselves from competitors. Enterprises should use SNSs for marketing, considering not only continuous use intention but also reliability, to elevate product purchase intention. Conclusions - The study had limitations. Most subjects were students aged 24 to 28 years; the findings cannot be generalized. Second, personal computers (PCs) and smartphones had similar influence. Third, the preferences and/or characteristics of each SNS type were not reflected in marketing.

  • In the 4th Industrial Revolution, the healthcare industry is undergoing a paradigm shift from post-care and management systems based on diagnosis and treatment to disease prevention and management based on personal precision medicine. To optimize medical services for individual patients, an open ecosystem for the healthcare industry that allows the exchange and utilization of personal health records (PHRs) is required. However, under the current system of hospital-centered data management, it is difficult to implement the linking and sharing of PHRs in practice. To address this problem, in this study, we present the design and implementation of a patient-centered PHR platform using blockchain technology. This platform achieved transparency and reliability in information management by eliminating the risk of leakage and tampering/altering personal information, which could occur when using a PHR. In addition, the patient-consent system was applied to a PHR; thus, the patient acted as the user with ownership. The proposed blockchain-based PHR platform enables the integration of personal medical information with scattered distribution across multiple hospitals, and allows patients to freely use their health records in their daily lives and emergencies. The proposed platform is expected to serve as a stepping stone for patient-centered healthcare data management and utilization.

  • Due to the acceleration of medical information age, the semantic interoperability of clinical information is rising up as a major issue. The laboratory results are known as the best significant area among clinical information to be required for exchanging and sharing. The aim of this research is to develop the clinical contents model for exchange laboratory results. This research was conducted from March 2008 to September 2008. Firstly, the method is to get the attributes and codes from LOINC which is one of the standard medical terminology system related to laboratory and the Reference Information Model(RIM) of Health Level 7(HL7). Secondly, the attributes from each work process around orders and reports of laboratory was analyzed. We evaluated the attributes whether they could be represented into the attributes contained in HL7's RIM. Thirdly, the prototype for hemoglobin case using the structure of clinical contents model and defined attribute. Fourthly, the face validity was done by one laboratory physician with four clinicians. The assessment contents were for the suitability involved in representation and exchange with proposed model. The results shows that the model corresponds with the aim of the research. Eventually the proposed model for the exchange of laboratory results could contributes to information interchange according to laboratory area for the future.

  • In this paper, we propose that it is necessary to expand the programs in the future, Iand it should be possible to activate and to participate the programs continuously, because the higher the participation in leisure program is, the higher life satisfaction.. The Korean Senior Citizens Association has a branch in each province and is used as a place where voluntarily provide friendship activities, hobbies for elderly people aged 65 and information exchange with other leisure activities. However, it was considered to be only a cursory space a few years ago, unlike the activation of leisure programs for the elderly welfare center. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of satisfaction of leisure program by type on life satisfaction of users who have experience in elderly university. The subjective health status and the residential type of participating elderly people differ in their life satisfaction. Therefore, it is important for the elderly to have regular health checkups and to maintain a stable residential style. And also, the experiment results show that life satisfaction was higher when leisure program use satisfaction was higher - especially, satisfaction with health program and health care program was higher.

  • In a wireless sensor network (WSN) setting, this paper presents a distributed decision-making framework and illustrates its application in an online structural health monitoring (SHM) system. The objective is to recover a damage severity vector, which identifies, localizes, and quantifies damages in a structure, via distributive and collaborative decision-making among wireless sensors. Observing the fact that damages are generally scarce in a structure, this paper develops a nonlinear 0-norm minimization formulation to recover the sparse damage severity vector, then relaxes it to a linear and distributively tractable one. An optimal algorithm based on the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) and a heuristic distributed linear programming (DLP) algorithm are proposed to estimate the damage severity vector distributively. By limiting sensors to exchange information among neighboring sensors, the distributed decision-making algorithms reduce communication costs, thus alleviate the channel interference and prolong the network lifetime. Simulation results in monitoring a steel frame structure prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

  • HL7 released V3 CDA(Clinical Document Architecture) and V2.x message standards for medical information exchange. Currently, these standards are successfully adopted by a number of nations across the globe. However, substantial amount of time is required to develop and implement these standards. Moreover, developers need a lot of time to understand these standards. To solve these issues from 2011, the HL7 standard framework started to discuss Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources(FHIR) as next generation standard of healthcare information exchange. People's interests toward personal health record and smartphone penetration rate are growing and increasing rapidly. Therefore, our research team believes it is necessary to develop a PHR profiling system which could be accessed by using a smartphone and we developed the system. Through a FHIR Profile editor tool developed in Furore, we found that improvements could be made in generating and changing the profile. In order to build the PHR Profiling system, an Open-API on FHIR is used for exchanging information between electronic medical record system and PHR Profiling system. In the PHR Profiling system, the transactions of information between two systems are provided by RESTful service. In this study, we verify the efficiency of development of the PHR Profiling system through FHIR.

  • This study aims to examine the patterns of middle-aged parents' intergenerational support exchange with their adult children and its effects on the happiness of the parents. The sample consisted of 765 middle-aged parents selected from the National Survey of Korean Families by the Ministry of Equality and Family in 2010. The results were as follows. First, intergenerational support exchange between parents and their adult children was categorized into four groups depending on the provider of support: parents who exchanged no support with their children, parents who only received support from their children, parents who only provided support to their children, and parents who exchanged support with their children. Second, parents who exchanged no support with their children were high in instrumental support and those who both provided and received support were high in emotional support. Third, consciousness of their children significantly affected the satisfaction level of their relationship with their children. The more the parents emphasize on the growth of their children, the more they were satisfied. Parents in the support exchange group were more satisfied when they received economic support from their children. With regard to instrumental and emotional support, parents were more satisfied when they provided support to or mutually exchanged support with their children. Forth, subjective health conditions, consciousness of their children, and household's income more significantly affected the happiness of middle-aged parents than the patterns of intergenerational support exchange. With regard to economic support, parents who only received support from their children were less happy than the other groups. With regard to instrumental support, parents who exchanged no support with their children were happier than the other groups. With regard to emotional support, parents who provided support to their children were happier than the other groups.
