The purpose of this study is identify chemical changes in yield components of soil using organic fertilizer for cultivating rice and establish reasonable methods of fertilization. In chemical change, comparing the control plot, the soil using organic fertilizer consistently for three years for cultivating rice showed an increase in pH and available phosphate in the experiment plots provided by the organic fertilizer, increase in spikelet number and 1000 grain weight in terms of yield components, and increase in yield in the three-year experiment plots. As for the quality of brown rice, the rate of head rice showed no difference when compared to that of the control plots. As for protein content, it was difficult to identify a statistical significance between the control plots and the experiment plots in 2009, but since 2010, the protein content of the experiment plots has been lower than that of the control plot, indicating that fertilization of organic fertilizer was effective in terms of rice quality. In conclusion, long-term use of organic fertilizer improved the chemical properties of soil and increased yield when compared to practical fertilization. Reasonable fertilization was identified to fertilize the nitrogen component of organic fertilizer to be a level of 12kg/10a.
The results of surgical repair for pelvic factures in 31 dogs were reviewed. Lameness and weight bearing scores were used to evaluate functional recovery of the hind limbs. Simple fracture occurred in sacroiliac joint (n = 5) and ilium (n = 3). Pelvic fractures had acetabular (n = 7) and non-acetabular fractures (n = 23). Acetabular fracture cases were composed of additional surgical treatments with femoral head and neck ostectomy (FHNO) (n = 4) and only acetabular rim fixation (n = 3). Simple fractures had more rapid initial and complete recovery times than multiple fractures. Non-acetabular fracture cases (initial recovery time: 2.7 weeks, complete recovery time: 9.1 weeks) had more rapid initial and complete recovery times than acetabular fracture cases (8.4, 12.5 weeks) (p < 0.05). In addition, the cases of additional surgical treatment with FHNO (5.3, 7 weeks) had more rapid mean recovery times than surgical treatment without FHNO (11.1, 16.3 weeks). Surgical approach with FHNO in acetabular fracture was an alternative method to treat pelvic fractures in small breed dogs.
As a part of basic investigation for utilizing by-products derived from marine food processing more effectively as a food source, lipid contents, fatty acid compositions and lipid compositions in viscera and head of conger eel and hair tail, viscera of mackerel pike, and squids caught off Newzealand and off Falkland island were determined. The lipid contents in marine by-products showed $40.5{\sim}48.0%$ on a dry weight basis and it consisted of $92.1{\sim}99.0%$ neutral lipid and $1.0{\sim}7.9%$ polar lipid such as phospholipid and glycolipid. The neutral lipids mainly consisted of triglyceride$(50.0{\sim}69.9%)$ and had free fatty acid, free sterol, esterified sterol and hydrocarbon, diglyceride, and monoglyceride in less quantity. Squid viscera oil showed higher content in polyenes such as 20:5 and 22:6 than by-product oil derived from fish processing. Viscera oil of squid caught off Newzealand(21.1%) was the highest on DHA composition, followed by that of squid caught off Falkland island(16.3%), hair tail by-product oil(13.9%), conger eel by-product oil(11.7%) and mackerel pike by-product oil(10.7%), in the order named. The major fatty acids in total lipid and neutral lipid of byproducts were generally 16:0, 18: 1n-9, 20:5n-3 and 22:6n-3.
The surgical treatment of tetralogy of Fallot [TOF] was initiated by Blalock and Taussig in 1945 with the establishment of the subclavian artery to pulmonary artery anastomosis. In an imaginative and daring effort, in 1954, Lillehei and collaborators [1955] using controlled cross-circulation, carried out the first intracardiac repair of TOF by closing the ventricular septal defect [VSD] and relieving the pulmonary stenosis under direct vision. Nowadays, total correction is the ideal operation for treatment of TOF and is accomplished with extracorporeal circulation. And the results of surgery for TOF have steadily improved over the years, thanks to important contributions of many surgeons. Nevertheless because of its protean physiologic and anatomic presentation, TOF continues to offer challenges to cardiologist and cardiac surgeons. Thirty two cases of TOF have undergone total corrective surgery using extracorporeal circulation in the Department of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery, Pusan Paik Hospital, Inje University, from Oct. 1985 to Feb. 1990. Clinical considerations were applied to these cases and the results were obtained as follows. 1. The heart lung machine used for extracorporeal circulation was SarnsO 7000, 5-head roller pump, and the number and type of oxygenators were 10 of bubble type and 22 of membrane type. The mean bypass time was 148.9 minutes and the mean aortic cross clamp time was 123.8 minutes. The GIK [glucose-insulin-potassium] solution was used as cardioplegic solution for myocardial protection during operation. 2. 20 cases were male and 12 were female, the mean age was 8 years old and the mean body weight was 25Kg. 3. The preoperative symptoms were cyanosis [29 cases], squatting [27 cases] and etc. The mean values of preoperative Hb., Hct., and SaO2 were 16.5 gm /dl, 50.3%, and 78.5%. 4. Combined anomalies were noticed in 16 cases [50%]. Among them 10 cases were PFO and 6 cases were ASD. 5. The degree of aorta overriding were 25% in 5 cases, 25 ~ 50% in 22 cases and above 50% in 5 cases. The dPA/Ao [ratio of diameter of pulmonary artery trunk to ascending aorta] were below 25% in 5 cases, 25 ~ 50% in 10 cases, 50 ~ 70% in 6 cases and above 75% in 11 cases. 6. The types of RVOT [right ventricular outflow tract] stenosis were valvular and infundibular in 14 cases [43.6%], diffuse hypoplastic type in 12 cases [37.5%], infundibular in 5 cases, and valvular and supravalvular in 1 case. 7. One stage radical corrective surgery was applied to the all cases. In widening of the RVOT, 3 types of patches were used: MVOP [monocusp ventricular outflow patch, Polystan BioprosthesesO] in 3 cases, knitted Dacron vessel patches in 2 cases, and double layer with bovine pericardium and woven Dacron prosthesis in 26 cases. 8. Postoperative complications were occurred in 15 cases. Among them, low output syndrome were occurred in 10 cases [31.3%] and 2 of them were expired postoperatively.

This experiments was conducted to investigate the influence on organic rice cultivation by continuous use of cow manure in the central region of Korea and investigated productivity of organic rice and feed value, stock carrying capacity of organic rice straw. In the results, application of chemical fertilizer showed higher one of 1st and 2nd year in fresh matter yield (15.77, 30.30ton/ha), dry matter yield (9.90, 13.89 ton/ha), dry matter yield of rice straw (4.88, 7.15ton/ha), dry matter weight of kernel per plant (29.81, 39.99g) and number of kernel per plant (1212.58, 1701units), but there were not significantly differences with each experimental plots in 3rd year. And harvest index showed higher one in application of chemical fertilizer (0.52, 0.48, 0.43) until 3 years. But their quantitative difference between application of chemical fertilizer and cow manure was gradually decreased each year. And the average value of $K_{CP}$ and $K_{TDN}$ showed higher one in application of chemical fertilizer (2.01, 2.94, 1.95 head/ha/yr) until 3 years. However, quantitative difference between chemical fertilizer and cow manure was gradually decreased each year. Especially, application of cow manure showed higher value of 3rd year in $K_{ME}$, but there was not significantly difference with each experimental plots. According to the results, continuous use of cow manure will be reduced their quantitative differences between chemical fertilizer as the year progress in the central region of Korea in terms of productivity of organic rice and feed value, stock carrying capacity of organic rice straw.

The hull dehydration in dough stage did not serious affect the rice yield though grain appearance texture may decline by severe occurrence of the symptom. As to white head in heading stage of rice, the occurrence of hull dehydration in 1998 was directly affected by high temperature, low air humidity and sometimes of strong wind and sunshine in early September. At harvest stage, 1,000-grain weight of brown rice was not found to be significantly different between the hull dehydrated grains and normal ones. That reason can be considered that the hull dehydration occurred hill was not injured on the leaf and rachis branches therefore the function of assimilation and translation of rice plant was not affected. The ratio of imperfect rice kernel such as green, cracked and white belly increased. The increase of cracked rice by the hull dehydration may caused by concurrent dehydration of kernel, or by insufficient water supply into kernel due to breaking of vascular bundles in glume.
The purpose of the experiment was to clarify morphologically normal growth pattern of the ductus deference in accordance with the sex maturity of meat-type cockerels. 1. Diameter of lumens in u, pp.r, mid and lower parts of ductus deferens, the most conspicuous enlargement of lumen was observed in the lower part. Heights of epithelial layers of ductus deferens showed abrupt growth at 12 weeks of age with subsequent gradual growth in all the part of u, pp.r, mid and lower, and heights of those at 30 weeks were a, pp.oximately 4 times as large in the u, pp.r and mid parts and 5 times as large in the lower part in contrast to those at 4 weeks of age. Thickness of muscular layer of ductus showed gradual growth in contrast with the diameter of lumen and height of epithelial layer, showing 1.3 times as large in the u, pp.r part, 1.6 times in the mid part and 1.9 times in the lower part at 30 weeks of age in contrast to the thickness at 4 weeks of age. 2. Within 10 weeks after hatching, lining cells of ductus deferens were mainly composed of round cells and columnar cells in simple columnar epithelium. During 10th to 20th week, the lining cells were mainly composed of high columnar cells and round cells in pseudostratified epithelium. From 22nd week, the lining cells were composed of pseudostratified columnar cells. Whereas round cells disa, pp.ared gradually. Enlargement of lumen and pooling of sperms in ductus deferens coincided with the maturation of seminiferous tubules. 3. In simple correlation between the values of testis weight and the values from various measurements in the ductus deferens, there was significant correlation coefficient with each other. 4. In the India ink absorption test, India ink granules were not absorbed on the epithelium of the ductus deferens, but the granules reactive to acid phosphatase a, pp.ared in a line on the free border of each parts of the ductus deferens. The granules reactive to alkaline phosphatase were noted on the luminal border of ductus deferens mainly, but weak reaction showed than acid phophatase were a, pp.ared. The granules reactive to PAS were a, pp.ared mostly near on the free border of hte epithelial cells of ductus deferens. 5. Number of sperm, Indes of sperm vitality and MRT in the different parts of ductus deferens were tended to be somewhat dominant in the mid and lower parts than in u, pp.r part, even though not significant in the statistical analysis. Ratio of sperm abnormality was tended to be relatively high in the u, pp.r part too, and in the sperm of abnormality blunted head was less in number significantly in the mid and lower part than in the u, pp.r part.
This research was carried out to establish perfect-drainage time in order to stabilize rice yield and improve rice quality. Treatments of perfect-drainage were conducted 5 days interval during 25 days to 50 days after heading date in the field of Saemangeum Gyehwa, newly reclaimed land. Accumulated temperature after heading date in 2010 increased about $100^{\circ}C$ and precipitation amount decreased a little compared to normal year harvesting time. Average panicle number was 16.5 and spikelet per panicle was 88. Perfect drainage time treatment after 40~50 days was 3% higher in percent ripened grain and 0.6 g heavier in 1,000 grain weight than treatment after 25~35 days. There was no difference of rice yield between perfect drainage time treatment after 25 days and 30~35 days, but rice yield was 7~8% higher in treatment after 40~50 days than 25 days. Head rice ratio in treatment after 35 days was the highest and the sooner perfect drainage time, the lower protein content. Soil moisture negatively correlated with soil hardness and EC in this result. With this results, we proposed that the time of perfect drainage in newly reclaimed land to stable rice production is 40~50 days after heading date.

This study was conducted to investigate the possibility of replacing imported Timothy hay (TH) with domestic Italian ryegrass silage (IRGS) as a horse feed considering feed quality, nutrient digestibility and feed price. Two experimental diets (TH and IRGS) were fed to six-headed Thoroughbred (body weight, 475.7±33.3kg) of the Korea Racing Authority of Wondang Stud Farm. The 3 head animals were assigned to Control group (TH) and Treatment group (IRGS), respectively. The nutrient digestibility was determined by the total collection method. IRGS is enough for using as a horse feed because its Relative feed value(RFV) was higher than TH and its fermentation quality is suitable for horses. Although no difference was observed in nutrient digestibility, Total digestible nutrients(TDN), and Digestible energy(DE) between Control and Treatment group (p>0.05), the fact that price of IRGS was much lower (53.7~62.4%) than that of TH indicates IRGS has competitive advantage over TH as a horse forage feed. The present study indicates that IRGS can be fully replaced with TH due to its superior economic value even though the similarity of its nutrient digestibility, TDN, and DE to TH.
The heat detector detects heat in the fire and is an important core element of the automatic fire alarm system used generally for every fire prevention objects. The heat detector is distinguished in spot type and spread type and in spot type, there are differential and thermistor types. These heat detectors give a great influence on the loss of people and property according to the sensitivity of response such as operation time and operation temperature in actual fire and in overseas people apply it for the development of products that can be operated in the early stage of fire including certification, quality management, and comparison standard by introducing response time index through the theory of heat balance that considers the heat loss and ventilation tests. In Korea, the response time index is introduced and used in the head of sprinkler products, but it is not applied to the heat detector at present. It is necessary to introduce the response time index that shows the sensitivity of response of the heat detector the installation standard for the heat detector that the response time index is applied should be different according to the fire weight, danger degree of fire, and shape of buildings. Through this study, it tries to help reduce lives and property of people through the swift warning by installing detectors suitable for the building structure.
