Fengshui's Interaction with Buddhism in Korea (한국에서 전개된 풍수와 불교의 교섭)

  • In Korean history, Fengshui and Buddhism were closely connected in a harmonious and interrelated manner, together influencing the location and function of Buddhist temples, the forming of social and spatial ideologies, the spread of Fengshui, the development of Buddhist Bibo-Fengshui, ete. The interaction between Fengshui and Buddhism, which began after the introduction of Zen Buddhism in the late-Silla period, acted as a spatial ideology that empowered the powerful local gentries to trigger a social upheaval in the late-Silla period and was used by the government leaders for political purposes throughout the Goryeo period. In the Joseon period, the link between Buddhism and Fengshui weakened and was felt only at a grass-roots level.

The Development of the Teaching-Learning Model Applying Role Play to High School Home Economics Education (고등학교 가정교과 가족관계 영역을 중심으로한 역할놀이 수업모형의 개발 및 적용)

  • The objectives of the unit ‘Family Relations’in high school Home Economics Education is to help the students cultivating proper values and self-esteem, maintaining harmonious personal relations not only by understanding human relationships in family, but also by acquiring role play, and is to wisely cope with many problems occurring in social life, which are indispensable for those living in modern society. But at present it is hard for the students to gain those abilities mentioned above, for the present unit ‘Family Relations’lays special emphasis only on memorizing specific knowledge about the understanding of a family. To improve the present educational situation, this study develops a new teaching-learning method based on the role play model concerning the ‘Family Relation’area of high school Home Economics Education curriculum. This study is theoretically based on the literature and previous studies on present problems of our various family relations, and solving its problems, and suggests lesson model of role play and its effect. This study was performed as following procedures: the ‘Family Relation’unit of the present high school Home Economics Education curriculum was analyzed, and surveyed students to discover the conflicts and their solutions the high school students are now experiencing in their family relations. Accordingly, a new lesson model of the ‘Family Relation’area, applying role play was developed. Based on the developed lesson plan, two-hour classes were experimented and positive evaluation was given by students.

Transformerless Three-Level DC-DC Buck Converter with a High Step-Down Conversion Ratio

  • For high power high step-down dc-dc conversion applications, conventional three-level dc-dc converters are subject to extreme duty cycles or increased volume and cost due to the use of transformers. In this paper, a transformerless three-level dc-dc buck converter with a high step-down conversion ratio is proposed. The converter comprises two asymmetrical half bridges, which are of the neutral point clamped structures. Therefore, the output pulse voltage of the converter can be obtained in terms of the voltage difference between the two half bridges. In order to realize harmonious switching of the converter, a modulation strategy with capacitor voltages self balance is presented. According to the deduced output dc voltage function, transformerless operation without extreme duty cycles can be implemented. Experimental results from a 1kW prototype verify the validity of the proposed converter. It is suitable for ship electric power distribution systems.

  • Recently, the 'mobility' is one of the essential item in the field of IT. This means that 'mobility' are good mediators to get collecting user's behavior and provide freedom of mobility service for user's. This paper is proposed a mobility process orchestration(MPO) model that provide multimedia to various devices. The orchestration model provides the structure and function that can be objectify a physical devices in a user's environment to provide orchestrated service of various devices to user using a concept of MSMP(Multi Source Multi Platform). Also, using the concept of Choreography can be extracted appropriate device of the various media formats for harmonious service.

  • The TEXAS-V code tuned for TROI-13 was used for analyzing the parametric findings in TROI experiments. The calculations on the melt composition are relatively similar to the TROI experimental results. The water depth effect in TEXAS-V code seems to be consistent with TROI experiments in some degree. The water area effect of TEXAS-V calculations seems not to be harmonious to that in TROI experiments. This seems to indicate that TEXAS-V as 1-dimensional code or as the numerical steam explosion has a limitation on estimating area effect. Thus, TEXAS-V tuned for TROI-13 seems to have an ability to estimate the parametric effect of TROI experiments. The evaluated TEXAS-V was used for estimating the ex-vessel steam explosion load. The calculated explosion pressure and load were about 40 MPa and 75 kPa.sec, which are not much threatening level for containment integrity.

  • Lots of various utilities are buried under the surface of the earth. The effective handling of the underground utilities is becoming the big subject and project for the harmonious management and administration of the city. To detect the position and depth of buried underground utilities, GPR and Induced EM surveys are commonly used. However, they have limitations, such as shallow skin-depth and non-availability in the areas where subsurface materials are not homogeneous and are compose of clays and/or salts and gravels. The aim of this study is to find the efficient geophysical method which can overcome these limitations. For this purpose, various geophysical mehods were applied in the site of poor geotechnical environment.

  • Han-Thought is a philosophy unique to the native to Korean culture. From the point view of etymological analysis the word “Han” means “Large”, “High” means “Whole” Ancient Korean people planted their philosophical roots deep in what has come to be known an Han-Thought. The goal of this study was to explore “Han-Thought” for concepts and principles which may contribute to the building of a Korean nursing philosophy, ethic, paradigm, theory and eventully practice. Ontologlly, our ancient people attempted to learn what was most essential and meaningful in life Han-Thought embraces the thought of complete harmony with in wholeness. Han encompasses everything in the universe. A chracteristic of Han-Thought is that all things relate to each other in harmonic balance, not in conflict. The harmonious balance of all things excludes both disruption and confrontation, making all things into a large oneness. Thus Han-Thought applied to Holism traditionally embraced by nursing philosophy. The principles of Han-Thought emphasize the love of peace. Extreme individualism and egoism are not allowed in Han-Thought. Thus Han-Thought provide a humanistic and ethical foundation for nursing philosophy. Han-Thought is a valuable philosophy for Korean nurse to explore toward the development of the discipline in Korea.

  • The humanities are academic disciplines that study the human condition using methods that are primarily analytic, critical, or speculative, as distinguished from the mainly empirical approaches of the natural and social sciences. This study tries to explore the practical role and direction of the humanities in the social network community, where harmonious communication with the more concrete aspects of human life is not always in effect. This task will examine the scholarly nature of the 'miner humanities in the subject area rather than other areas of the humanities. Therefore, the goal of this study is first to investigate the nature of the academic mind humanities, and then to explore the practical challenges as well as possible reasons that the mind humanities should be educationally approached in a self-cultivated perspective.

Development an Emotional Education Program for Young Children (유아용 감성교육 프로그램 개발 연구)

  • Children develop emotional intelligence during the early years of life, and according to experts, emotional intelligence(EI) is a more reliable predictor of academic achievement than IQ. However, nowadays children appear to be low on emotional well-being. This has potentially negative consequences, not only for academic achievement but also for personal relationships. The purpose of this study was to develop emotional education program for young children(EEPYC). In this study, EI is defined to carry out reasoning in regard to emotions and to use emotion for enhancement of thought. Designed to facilitate development of young children's EI. EEPYC is based on the four branch model, which is mental EI model and based on the guiding principle of Collaborative to Advance Social and Emotional Learning. The subgroups(curricular) that compose EEPYC are Emotional Perception, appraisal, and expression, Self-recognition program, Self-esteem program, Emotional Stress Regulation, Emotional problem solving & conflict resolution. EEPYC has the potential of fostering emotional intelligence. Moreover, EEPYC can promote a motivation, prosocial activity, and regulation of stress. This helps young children to develope cognition and emotion in harmonious fashion.

  • It can be expected for a public library to increase the service efficiency only when librarians can be satisfied with their job. Job satisfaction is the feeling a librarian has about his salary, his work, his promotion opportunities, his co- workers, his supervisors, etc. and affects directly librarians' morale. This paper is a study on these factors that affect the professional librarians' morale in national and public libraries in Korea. The methods employed to achieve the purpose of this study are (1) to establish some tentative factors affecting librarians' morale (2) to gather and analyze the answers against them from the professional librarians working in national and public libraries in Seoul, Korea. (3) to find out the factors abstructing the librarias' morale (4) to propose the improvement plans for them. The conclusions made are as follows: (1) Delegation of rights and responsibilities. (2) Adoption of the democratic leadership. (3) The harmonious communications between managers and librarians. (4) The level of wages and allowance. (5) Revision of the librarians' promotion regulation. (6) Necessity of continuing education of librarians. (7) Satisfaction of welfare facilities. (8) Improvement of social acknowledgement for the librarians' professionalism according to the advancement the level of educational course.
