  • 본 논문에서는 TI사의 부동소수점 DSP인 TMS320C6701$^{TM}$을 이용한 2.4kbps EHSX(Enhanced Harmonic Stochastic Excitation) 음성부호화기의 실시간 구현 방법에 대해서 논한다. EHSX는 4khz의 대역폭을 갖는 음성신호를 2.4kbps의 비트율을 갖는 압축 패킷으로 변환하는 부호화 방법으로, 유/무성음에 따라 하모닉(Harmonic) 여기 부호화 방법과 CELP 부호화 방법을 선택적으로 사용하는 구조를 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 EHSX의 실시간 구현을 위해 연산량의 큰 비중을 차지하는 CELP 분석의 코드북 검색부분과 일부 IIR 필터링 부분에 대한 고정소수점 변환 방법과, 부호화시 하모닉 검색 및 피치 검색방법에 대한 알고리즘 상 연산량 감소 방법, DSP의 구조를 고려한 코드를 배치방법 등 연산량을 감소시키기 위한 최적화 방법을 제시한다. 설계된 음성 부호화기는 PESQ(perceptual evaluation of speech quality) ITU-T Recommendation P.862를 이용한 음질 평가 결과로서 약MOS 3.28을 얻었으며, 실시간으로 압축 및 복원을 수행한다.

  • The slender rectangular cantilever beam has vef interesting to study dynamic behaviors of the harmonic base excitation of a cantilever beam shows many nonlinear dynamics due to unstability , energy transfer and mode coupling. Nonlinear phenomenon shows superharmonic, subharmonic, super subharmonic and chaotic motions of the cantilever beam. Experimental observation and verification of these phenomenon carry much importance for the theoretical study as well as in it self. In the experimental cantilever beam, the chaotic motions of the beam appear as a pink noise signal in FFT analysis and as a torus structure in the oscilloscope analyzed to eventually give information of chaotic motions of the cantilever beam.

  • The non-linear responses of a slender rectangular cantilever beam subjected to lateral harmonic base-excitation are investigated by the 2-channel FFT analyzer. Both linear and nonlinear behaviors of the cantilever beam are compared with each other. Bending mode, torsional mode, and transverse mode are coupled in such a way that the energy transfer between them are observed. Especially, superharmonic, subharmonic, and chaotic motions which result from the unstable inertia terms in the transverse mode are analyzed by the FFT analyzer The aim is to give the explanations of the route to chaos, i.e., harmonic motion \longrightarrow superharmonic motion \longrightarrow subharmonic motion \longrightarrow chaos.

전이구간 부호화를 이용한 2.4 kbit/s 다중모드 음성 부호화 방법 (Method of a Multi-mode Low Rate Speech Coder Using a Transient Coding at the Rate of 2.4 kbit/s)

  • 현재 개발된 4 kbit/s이하의 저 전송율 음성부호화 시스템은 STC(Sinusoidal Transform Coding)나 MBE (Multi-band Excitation Coding)에 바탕을 두고 있다. 이러한 저 전송율 부호화기들은 대표적인 전이구간 신호인 유성음의 시작점과 끝점에서의 혼합신호(onset signal, offset signal), 비주기적인 신호(non-period signal) 등은 정확히 표현하지 못하기 때문에 자연스런 음질을 만들어 내지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 유성음에는 하모닉 모델, 무성음에서는 스토케스틱 모델, 전이구간에는 하모닉 기반의 비주기적인 펄스의 위치를 추적하는 방식을 사용하여 효과적으로 전이구간을 모델링 하는 방법과 2.4 kbit/s 다중모드 부호화방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 원본신호에서 선형예측 부호화 방법으로 추출된 잔여신호를 신호의 성격에 따라 모델을 달리하는 방법이며, 자각의 신호의 성격에 따라 좋은 성능을 나타내는 모델을 사용하였다. 또한 효율적인 전이구간 모델링 방법의 도입으로 저 전송율에서 CELP(Code Excitation Linear Predictive) 부호화 방식에 의해 시간축에서 합성되는 여기신호와 선형위상을 이용한 하모닉 부호화 방식에 의해 주파수축에서 합성되는 여기신호를 효율적으로 결합이 가능하다는 것이 제안된 2.4 kbit/s 다중모드 부호화기의 장점이다. 제안된 방법의 2.4kbit/s 다중모드 부호화기는 미국 연방 표준부호화기인 2.4 kbit/s MELP(Mixed Excitation Linear Prediction) 부호화기보다 더 좋은 성능을 나타낸다.

  • This research deals with the nonlinearities of rocking vibration associated with impact and sliding on the rocking behavior of rigid block under two dimensional sinusoidal excitation which has different frequencies in two excitation direction. The varied excitation direction influences not only the rocking response but also the sliding motion and the rocking response shape. Chaotic responses are observed in wider excitation amplitude region, when the frequencies in each excitation direction are different. The complex behavior of chaotic response, in the phase space, is related with the trajectory of base excitation and sliding motion.

  • Radiation efficiency of a cylindrical shell whose surface vibrates under harmonic distribution is investigated by theoretical solutions and Boundary Element Method. The vibration modes of a cylindrical shell is determined from experiment and is compared with the result of Finite Element Method. Harmonic vibration response of the cylindrical shell under the point excitation and the radiation phenomena from its response is analyzed by Finite Element Method and Boundary Element Method.

A Fast Harmonic Estimation Method for Low Bit Rate Harmonic Speech Coders

  • This paper describes a fast harmonic estimation, referred to as Delta Adjustment (DA), using a low resolution pitch. The presented DA method is based on modification of the Generalized Dual Excitation (GDE) technique[1] which was proposed to improve speech enhancement performance. We introduce the GDE technique and modify it to be suitable for low bit rate harmonic coding that uses only an integer pitch estimate. Unlike the GDE, the DA matches a frequency-warped version of the original spectrum that conforms to a fixed pitch at all harmonic bands. In addition, complexity and performance of the presented method are described in comparison with those of the conventional Fractional Pitch (FP) based harmonic estimation. Experimental results showed that the DA algorithm significantly reduces the complexity of the FP method while maintaining the performance.

엔진과 추진축의 비틀림 가진력에 관한 해석적 연구 (An Analytical Study on Torsional Excitation Force of an Engine and Propeller Shaft)

  • Torque fluctuation of an engine and angular velocity variation of a propeller shaft are the main excitation sources in a vehicle driveline. This paper presents the mechanism of these excitation sources. An equivalent model of the engine system and propeller shaft system is constructed to simulate the excitation phenomena. The analytical model contains the geometrical and dynamic mechanism. Combustion pressure of the cylinder is measured from dynamometer. The computer simulation is carried out by commercial program package. Results of the simulations show the characteristics of the torsional excitation source of the driveline.

  • This study is generalization of the study of Miles[Physica 11D, 1984, pp.309-323]on the resonant motion of a spherical pendulum, which is equivalent to a particle on a spherical container subject to a linear, horizontal excitation. This study covers an arbitrary shape of container and a more general excitation (horizontal but elliptic motion). The averaging method is applied to reduce the governing equations to an autonomous system with cubic nonlinear terms, under the assumption of small amplitude of the container motion. It is shown that both the container shape and the excitation pattern affect the particle dynamics. Under the linear excitation, the anharmonic motion of the particle is possible only for a certain finite range of the parameter a controling the container shape. Stability of the particle's harmonic motion is also influenced by the excitation pattern; as the excitation trajectory becomes closer to a circle, the particle's motion has a stronger tendency to become stable and to follow the rotational direction of the excitation. Under a circular excitation, the motion is always stable and circular with the same rotational direction as the excitation. Analogy between the present model and that of the surface wave inside a circular is studied quantitatively.

  • Fast Fourier Transformation(FFT) is one of the most useful way to analyze response signal for the purpose of grasping the dynamic characteristics of system. Excitation is a factor or process making noise or vibration. It's typical and simple experimental method widely used for catching hold of dynamic peculiar characters and modal behaviors of system by frequency analysis. There are harmonic excitation, impact excitation, random excitation, sweep excitation, chirp excitation and so on as the ideal method in an experiment using exciter. In this thesis, excitation testing module for NI-PXI equipment is developed. The analyzing module is developed with LabVIEW tool. A user can generate each waveform for shaking a structure and see quickly and easily modal shape of system with this module. This developed module will be expected to build up more convenient and serviceable measurement system.
