Mankind has been attempting to live a happy and safe family life in a residential space. Due to the advent of the mobile phone in the 1990s and the smart phone in the 2000s, when the information and communication age came, human life has been innovatively changed. The revolution of human civilization led to the Neolithic Revolution and the Iron Age, followed by a smart phone revolutionizing human life, and the revolution faces with the era of info-communication, smart phones became a daily life and the fourth industrial revolution. The fourth industrial revolution is an era of info-communication technology (ICT), creating a new paradigm across human life through technological developments such as artificial intelligence (AI), IoT, big data, mobile, and cloud. The smart home is actively researched in a direction to support the overall human life as a representative future residential culture paradigm. However, the study considering the needs according to the lifestyle, functional characteristics of each living space and human lifestyle of the Phono Sapiens era where smart phones live like daily life was relatively insufficient. In addition, research on smart home service design should be considered from the apartment residential space planning stage. Therefore, this study has significance in suggesting the direction of research on human-centered smart home service design considering the characteristics of each living space and resident's life-style in the smart phone era.
Purpose: This study is aimed to identify the health-related quality of life for children with a mentally ill parent. Methods: The 13 participants were school-aged children whose parents were registered at the D Regional Mental Health Welfare Center. Data were collected using one-on-one interview with illustration cards and analyzed by content analysis. Results: The participants were living a difficult life in anxiety amid a reversal of parent-child role, such as doing housework and taking care of their parents. The study revealed a love-hate family relationship that the participants wanted parental recognition and attention but they were frustrated by insufficient parental care and sibling conflict. Nevertheless, they only had each other themselves to trust and rely on. Their mixed health awareness and negative emotions were influenced by parents. Some of participants were exposed to dangerous environment such as domestic violence, and they need support system for help in difficult situations. Sometimes they felt happy by satisfying physiological, social, and self-esteem needs. They also showed a positive potential that they were matured more than peers through the experience of overcoming difficulties. Therefore, to improve their health-related quality of life, there should be some integrated support of the community health system to cope with the challenges they face.
In this paper, we develop interactive content services for preventing depression of users through an intelligent Internet of Things(IoT) mirror system. For interactive content services, an IoT mirror device measures attention and meditation data from an EEG headset device and also measures facial expression data such as "sad", "angery", "disgust", "neutral", " happy", and "surprise" classified by a multi-layer perceptron algorithm through an webcam. Then, it sends the measured data to an oneM2M-compliant IoT server. Based on the collected data in the IoT server, a machine learning model is built to classify three levels of depression (RED, YELLOW, and GREEN) given by a proposed merge labeling method. It was verified that the k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) model could achieve about 93% of accuracy by experimental results. In addition, according to the classified level, a social network service agent sent a corresponding alert message to the family, friends and social workers. Thus, we were able to provide an interactive content service between users and caregivers.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to understand the cognition of the initiation of diseases of North Korean refugees in South Korea. Methods: 9 North Korean refugees hospitalized in Oriental Neuropsychiatry of National Medical Center participated in the interview. The statements were analyzed by using the phenomenological research methodology and Giorgi's analytical method, in particular, was applied. Results: The final program has two sub-programs for HT and DM participants utilizing self-efficacy resources. They share four common components; 1) health screening of exercise risks, 2) weekly 1-hour group self-management education classes, 3) biweekly 1-hour group exercise training and 4) a mid-term individual counseling. Both sub-programs were 12-weeks long but have different education and exercise contents. Participants-rated mean satisfaction scores were 3.47/4 and 3.61/4 for HT and DM program respectively. Attendance rate were 83.1% ~ 92.3% for the classes. Conclusion: The HAHA program developed by multidisciplinary team which reflected participants needs was accepted well by participants evidenced by high attendance rate and perceived satisfaction level.
A Study of the Emotionality of Child and Mother The purpose of this study is primarily to understand the emotional climate of child and mother, which is a significant factor in child study and the home life. A sample was collected from a total of 1,592 of whom 796 are elementary school children with their mothers. Of these 796 children 440 are fom private schools, 190 from public schools in Seoul. The rest are taken from a farming area, 100 kilometers from Seoul. The data was basically obtained through answers to a questionaire distributed in September 1973. In this study, the cross-sectional method, percentage calculation and chi-square test are adapted from factor analysis. With this limited amount of data special attention now, the following conclusions can be drawn from this analysis although special attention should be given in making any kind of generalization about the entire population. 1) Children's emotionality (a) There is a higher percentage of emotionally well-adjusted children as opposed to maladjusted children.(51%>11%) (b) There is no correlation between children's emotionality and the following factors: grade, sex, residential area, school records, and educational level of their mothers. 2) Mother's Emotionality (a) There are more mothers who consider themselves happy than unhappy.(49%>2%) On the other hand a higher percentage of mothers reported feelings of tension and insecurity as compared to those who had feelings of firm security(65%>5%) (b) There is a high correlationshionship between marital adjustment and marital happiness. In other words, the more adjusted, the happier. A high marital happiness has strong influence on the preference of sex, on children's adjustment to their friends, and their present living condition. (c) There is a close relationship between a high marital adjustment and the social development of a child: being fond of fathers, homelife, and the acquaintance with many friends. In the same way, the positive emotionality of a mother in raising her children and their school records are also important. 3) Emotional relationship between a mother and her chid There is a close bond of love and respect between a mother and her child. Moreover, a high frequence of close and open-minded communication exist between them in a family. It is evident that the emotional climate of the mother has a strong and powerful influence on her child.
Objectives: This study aimed to develop evaluation criteria for the elementary-school-based health promotion program using the RE-AIM framework and to examine their feasibility. Methods: Previous evaluation studies on health interventions for elementary-school students using the RE-AIM framework were reviewed systematically to identify appropriate evaluation criteria. A diet and physical activity intervention based on the transtheoretical model was implemented in a pilot study using the "Happy Me" application. The feasibility of using the RE-AIM framework to evaluate it was examined. Results: The review yielded the following evaluation criteria: "reach," the ratio of participants out of the total target population; "efficacy/effectiveness," the difference in outcomes between the intervention and control groups, or between a pre- and post-test; "adoption," the rate of use of the program and participation in the next stage of the program; "implementation," the progress on the program components; "maintenance," the participants' and teachers' intention to continue using the program. The pilot study reached 76.6% of the targeted population. The intake of sugar-sweetened beverages decreased (P < 0.0001), and the duration of walking increased (P < 0.0001). Other indicators could not be evaluated; therefore, potential indicators were suggested. Conclusions: This study produced feasible evaluation criteria for elementary-school-based health promotion using the RE-AIM framework. Nevertheless, the feasibility needs to be validated with a broader range of studies and long-term interventions.
