스키마 진화를 지원하는 인스턴스 접근처리시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of an Instance Access Handling System for Supporting Schema Evolution)

  • 스키마 진화 환경에서는 여러 버전의 스키마와 각각의 스키마버전에서 생성된 인스턴스가 데이터베이스에 존재한다. 본 논문은 객체관계형 데이타베이스에서 개별 클래스를 버전화하는 방법을 이용한 스키마 진화 환경에서, 인스턴스가 생성된 스키마 버전에 관계없이 인스턴스에 접근하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 설계된 접근처리 루틴은 인스턴스를 생성한 버전에 정의되지 않은 속성에 대한 접근을 지원한다. 또한, 연속적인 갱신/역갱신 함수의 적용이나 모든 버전 쌍에 대한 처리 함수를 정의할 필요 없이 의미정보의 쌍에 대해서 접근처리 루틴을 제공하여 속성의 의미정보 변화를 지원한다. 그리고 기존의 SQL에 VERSION 조건절을 추가하여 버전에 대한 질의를 지원하고 WHERE 조건절에 의미정보를 명시함으로써 속성의 의미정보를 이용한 질의를 지원한다.

자동화 컨테이너터미널에서 운송장비의 운영방안에 관한 연구 (A Study On Operation Method of Handling Equipments in Automated Container Terminals)

  • The main subject to become a hub port is automation. The automated container terminal has already operated in advanced ports and it has been planned for the basic planning and operation design in domestic case. The key of automated container terminal is effective operation of both ATC(automated transfer crane) and AGV(automated guided vehicle) which is automated handling equipments. This is essential to productivity of automated container terminal. This study suggests the most optimal method of equipment operation in order to minimize loading time using each three types of effective ATC operation methods and AGV dispatching rules in automated container terminals. As the automated equipment operation causes unexpected deadlocks or interferences, it should be proceeded on event-based real time. Therefore we propose the most effective ATC operation methods and AGV dispatching rules in this paper. The various states occurred in real automated container terminals are simulated to evaluate these methods. This experiment will show the most robust automated equipment operation method on various parameters(the degree of yard re-marshaling, the number of containers and AGV)

Prevalence in Food Safety Behaviors of Pregnant Women and Their Associated Factors

  • Food handling practices playa key role in the prevalence of food-borne illness. Despite the fact that pregnant women are high risk groups for food-borne disease, little is known about their actual food handling practices at home. The objective of this study was to investigate behaviors regarding food-related hygienic practices of pregnant women. The questionnaire included questions in five major areas : personal hygiene ; adequate cooking ; avoiding cross contamination ; keeping food at safe temperatures ; and avoiding food from unsafe sources. Analysis of 488 questionnaires showed the respondents were unaware of the importance of safe food handling practices. Especially, pregnant women in our study should be encouraged to be careful about either risk of adequate cooking $(2.08\pm0.66)$ and keeping foods at safe temperatures $(2.69\pm0.63)$. Residency and number of children were consistent independent predictors of food handling behaviors. Previous food safety education also was found to have significant effect on food handling practices. TV news and newspapers were considered the most usable sources of food safety information by respondents. The behaviors identified in this study represent ones of particular importance for high-risk populations, like pregnant women. These population characteristics identified in this study could be incorporated in development of food safety educational programs for pregnant women being vulnerable on food-borne illness. Our results could have implications for the design of effective food safety educational efforts. This study indicates the need for continued and improved food safety education and for enforcing systematic food safety education for pregnant women.

Evaluation of Short-Term Exposure Levels on Ammonia and Hydrogen Sulfide During Manure-Handling Processes at Livestock Farms

  • Background: Ammonia and hydrogen sulfide are harmful gases generated during aerobic/anaerobic bacterial decomposition of livestock manure. We evaluated ammonia and hydrogen sulfide concentrations generated from workplaces at livestock farms and determined environmental factors influencing the gas concentrations. Methods: Five commercial swine farms and five poultry farms were selected for monitoring. Real-time monitors were used to measure the ammonia and hydrogen sulfide concentrations and environmental conditions during the manure-handling processes. Monitoring was conducted in the manure storage facility and composting facility. Information on the farm conditions was also collected through interview and walk-through survey. Results: The ammonia concentrations were significantly higher at the swine composting facilities (9.5-43.2 ppm) than at other manure-handling facilities at the swine and poultry farms, and high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide were identified during the manure agitation and mixing process at the swine manure storage facilities (6.9-19.5 ppm). At the poultry manure-handling facilities, the ammonia concentration was higher during the manure-handling processes (2.6-57.9 ppm), and very low hydrogen sulfide concentrations (0-3.4 ppm) were detected. The air temperature and relative humidity, volume of the facility, duration of manure storage, and the number of animals influenced the gas concentrations. Conclusion: A high level of hazardous gases was generated during manure handling, and some levels increased up to risk levels that can threaten workers' health and safety. Some of the farm operational factors were also found to influence the gas levels. By controlling and improving these factors, it would be possible to protect workers' safety and health from occupational risks.

인천항 항만시설에서의 대기오염물질 배출량 산정 (Estimation of Air Pollutant Emissions from Port-Related Sources in the Port of Incheon)

  • A port has been regarded as a significant contributor to air pollution in the surrounding areas. Port-related air pollutants are released from not only marine vessels, but also various land-side sources at ports, which include cargo handling equipment, vehicles, locomotives, and fugitive dust sources by port activities such as bulk handling and vehicle movements. However, most studies in Korea have only focused on vessel emissions and there is a lack of information on the emissions from other sources at port. In this study, in order to establish the port-related emission inventory and evaluate the relative contribution of these sources to air emissions from the Port of Incheon, the emissions from land-side sources were estimated and the CAPSS (Clean Air Policy Support System) data for vessel emissions were used. In particular, the detailed information and activity data for the cargo handling equipment source were collected and the emission factors and emissions by equipment types were calculated using U.S. EPA methodologies. Total HC, CO, $NO_x$, $PM_{10}$, and $SO_2$ emissions from port-related sources including the vessel in 2007 were calculated as 229 ton/year, 638 ton/year, 4,861 ton/year, 307 ton/year, and 3,995 ton/year, respectively. It was found that the vessel was the largest contributor to air pollutant emissions from the port, the cargo handling equipment was responsible for about from 8% to 13% of HC, CO, and $NO_x$ emissions and the resuspended road dust contributed about 39% for $PM_{10}$ emissions. The results of this study will be used to establish the management and reduction strategies of air pollution in the port.

실제 해상교통상황 기반 선박조종 시뮬레이션 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on the development of a ship-handling simulation system based on actual maritime traffic conditions)

  • 최근 지능형 해상교통정보 서비스, 자율운항 시스템 등의 개발 및 검증, 고도화 과정에서 실제 해상교통상황의 구현이 가능한 선박조종 시뮬레이터와 연동하고자 하는 요구가 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 실제 해상교통상황 기반 선박조종 시뮬레이션 시스템을 개발하기 위해 시뮬레이션 서버를 구축하여 지능형 해상교통정보 연계 시스템으로부터 실제 해상교통상황에 대한 정보를 수신받아 선박조종 시뮬레이터 구동을 위한 정보로 변경하였으며, 실시간 시뮬레이션 영상을 사용자에게 제공하기 위해 우리나라 무역항 및 연안항에 대한 3차원 형상 모델링과 주요 선종에 대한 3차원 형상 모델링을 수행하였다. 이렇게 개발된 시스템은 10,000척 이상의 선박의 동시처리가 가능하여 사용자가 원하는 해역에서 실제 해상교통상황을 시뮬레이션할 수 있게 함으로써 지능형 해상교통정보 서비스의 고도화, 자율운항 시스템의 개발 및 검증 등에 유용하게 사용될 것으로 예상된다.

Application of Tactile Slippage Sensation Algorithm in Robot Hand Control System

  • This paper presents application of a new tactile slippage sensation algorithm in robot hand control system. The optical three-axis tactile sensor is a type of tactile sensor capable of defining normal and shear forces simultaneously. The tactile sensor is mounted on fingertip of robotic hand. Shear force distribution is used to define slippage sensation in the robot hand system. Based on tactile slippage analysis, a new control algorithm was proposed. To improve performance during object handling motions, analysis of slippage direction is conducted. The control algorithm is classified into two phases: grasp-move-release and grasp-twist motions. Detailed explanations of the control algorithm based on the existing robot arm control system are presented. The experiment is conducted using a bottle cap, and the results reveal good performance of the proposed control algorithm to accomplish the proposed object handling motions.

USB 2.0을 활용한 의료 영상정보 관리시스템 개발 (Developing Management System of Medical Image Information with USB 2.0)

  • This study is concerned with image information management system for small scale hospital. We intended to developing image management system which is used of the existing analog devices such as medical camera, supersonic analyser, endoscope etc. We developed a video in interface board based USB 2.0 for handling image in real time. It is capable of transmitting image input signal like as NTSC, PAL to personal computer through USB 2.0. The developed the board of 40 speeds compared with the exiting system based USB 1.0. Especially the developed system is very helpful for small hospital like as dental clinic, because it is easy and convenient to manage image information without expert. So it will provide reduction of time and cost for handling image information(collecting, saving, retrieval, transmitting image).

증강현실 기반 차세대 항해지원 시스템에 관한 연구 (Research on Advanced Navigation Aids System based on Augmented Reality)

  • 최근 해양 사고 및 그 피해가 증가함에 따라 선박의 안전 항해에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에 해양 사고에 대한 규제를 강화하고, 최신의 IT 기술들을 적용한 다양한 항해 장비들을 개발하여 항해사의 안전운항을 지원하고 있다. 그러나 너무 복잡하고 많은 정보를 무분별하게 제공하는 경우가 많아 오히려 항해사의 의사결정에 방해가 되는 경우가 있어 정보를 표시하고 서비스하는 효율적인 방법에 대한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 이러한 배경으로 본 논문에서는 다양한 항해정보를 보다 직관적으로 제공하기 위한 방법으로 증강현실 기술을 적용하였으며, 이를 통해 항해사가 신속하고 정확한 의사결정을 내릴 수 있도록 지원하는 증강현실 기반의 차세대 항해지원 시스템을 제안한다. 또한, 구현된 요소 기능들은 선박운항 시뮬레이터 및 실선 시험을 통해 시스템의 적용 가능성과 효용성을 검증하였다.

  • 지금까지 일반화물의 항만하역능력은 수리적 모델을 기반으로 단순 계산하는 방법으로 산정되었다. 본 논문은 수리적 모델 기반의 계산 방법이 갖는 현실을 반영하지 못하는 한계점을 극복하고자 시뮬레이션 기법을 적용하였다. 항만에서 전용부두의 하역작업 사례로 적정 하역능력을 산정하기 위해 안벽 프로세스 규칙들을 반영한 선박 입항부터 출항까지 발생되는 프로세스를 모델링하였고, 프로토타입을 개발하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 묵호항의 실제 처리능력과 시뮬레이션 결과를 비교하였고, 시뮬레이션 프로토타입의 입력변수 조건을 반복적으로 실험함으로서 적정 능력을 산정할 수 있었다.
