  • By using the information obtained from the outputs of MR(MagnetoResistive) sensors for an Unmanned Vehicle Driving System, we develop an algorithm that decides the distance and direction between vehicle and the guideline which is made by the magnet. To improve the robust tracking properties of the closed loop system, we introduce H$\infty$ controller and its application for the Unmanned Vehicle Driving System.

  • This paper deals with dynamic study of co-generator system with derived dynamic models of generator, excitation system, and turbine/governor from field tests. Mainly this study concentrates on frequency control of demand users that have co-generator by under-frequency relay. We simulates dynamic study of co-generator system using EMTDC.

  • To improve control performance, especially positioning speed, of a pneumatic positioning system, dynamic characteristics of a control valve should be considered. In case we design controller including dynamic characteristics of a control valve, it's not easy to design controller gain using simple state feedback because degree of a control system is increased. This study designed controller using loop shaping of $H_{\infty}$ control theory for a model composed of a pneumatic actuator and a control valve, and positioning experiment using this controller was performed. As a result, it was verified that the controller is useful for high speed positioning of a pneumatic positioning system.

  • In this paper, a suspension control of a magnetic levitation(MagLev) system with flexible rail is designed and presented. The numerical modelling for the electromagnetic system to be controlled as a target plant is carried out. And dome kinds of the hardware system including CPU board, AD board, DA board, sensors, and switching power amplifier are described. Using the derived model, the stabilizing controllers, such as PID and $H_{\infty}$ controller, for the MagLev system are designed using the MATLAB toolbox. The designed controllers are validated by some experimental results as well as numerical simulations. So it is shown that $H_{\infty}$ controller can give the better performance for the plant with flexible modes than PID controller.

  • The 350[km/h] catenary system was successfully opened in Honam high speed line. This 350[km/h] catenary system is firstly constructed in South Korea. Therefore the current collection performance of this system should be tested and evaluated by the authority. This paper describes the testings by running of HEMU-430X train and the evaluation criteria and result analysis to determine whether the performance of the catenary is good or not as a verification of catenary-pantograph interface. In detail, the contact force by pantograph, arcs by loss of contact and uplift amount of the catenary support were measured and discussed as a category of the current collection performance.

  • In this paper, we consider the decentralized reduced-order H$_{\infty}$ controller for the general plant. Simplifying method is suggested for the general plant with the decentralized controller structure. When the controller is reconstructed for the original system, the decentralizability of the controller for the transformed system is generally destroyed with the older method. We solve this problem.   • In the industrial motor drive system which is composed of a motor and load connected with a flexible shaft, a torsional vibration is often generated because of the elastic elements in torque transmission. To solve this problem H$_{\infty}$ controller was designed. In this paper, H$_{\infty}$ control of 2-mass system using H$_{\infty}$ filter for compensating shaft torque is proposed. Pole-zero maps show the validity of proposed controller.
