  • The reaction of amino acids and the reactive hydroxyl radical generated by $Ti^{3+}-H_2O_2$ system was studied using fast flow techniques coupled with ESR. Upon adding methionine to the 0.2M $H_2O_2$ solution (0.05M methionine after addition) and mixing with 0.01M $TiCl_3$, the low field component of the two incompletely resolved peaks, in the spectrum of $Ti^{3+}-H_2O_2$ system alone, vanished completely whereas the high field component remained almost constant and superimposed on the secondary spectrum of the methionine free radical. Similar results were obtained for other amino acids and proteins. The results strongly demonstrate that the $T^{3+}-H_2O_2$ flow system generates two different radical species, only one of which, giving rise to the low field component, is alone responsible for abstracting hydrogen atoms from substrate molecules. The effects of HCl, $H_2SO_4$ and NaOH on the system were also studied with widely varying results.

[ H2S ] Removal Characteristics by Combined System of Bioscrubber and Biofilter (Bioscrubber와 Biofilter 병합 시스템에 의한 H2S 제거특성)

  • This study compared the performance of a bioscrubber, a biofilter, and a combined system of bioscrubber and biofilter employed being operated at the laboratory-scale. for the removal of hydrogen sulfide. The bioscrubber maintained 100% removal of hydrogen sulfide up to inlet load of $56\;g-S/m^3{\cdot}hr$, while the removal efficiency was decreased with the increase of inlet load. The biofilter showed 100% removal efficiency up to inlet load of $126\;g-S/m^3{\cdot}h$ and the maximum elimination capacity of $126\;g\;S/m^3{\cdot}h$ for the inlet load of $224\;g-S/m^3{\cdot}h$. On the other hand, the combined system of bioscrubber and biofilter showed 100% removal for an inlet hydrogen sulfide load of up to $85\;g-S/m^3{\cdot}h$ and the maximum elimination capacity of $153\;g-S/m^3{\cdot}h$ for inlet loads of $224\;g-S/m^3{\cdot}h$.

  • 본 논문은 대용량 진력변환장치인 멀티-레벨 인버터 시스템에서 출력 전압가변이 손쉬운 HBML(H-Bridge Multi-Level) 인버터의 Master와 Cell 제어기 구성에 관한 것이다. HBML 인버터는 각각의 단위 Cell을 저압에서 사용하는 인버터로 구성하면, 구조적으로 풀-브릿지(Full-Bridge) 인버터를 캐스케이드 방식으로 연결하여 고압출력을 얻을 수 있는 토폴로지이다. 시스템에서 Master와 Cell의 제어 처리를 한곳에 집중하지 않는 분산 제어 방식을 적용하여 통신 Data를 최적화하도록 구성하고, 이를 바탕으로 두 제어기를 고성능 원-칩(One-Chip) DSP로만 설계하였다. 모든 외부 모듈을 내장한 CPU로 제어기가 구성될 경우, 외부 노이즈에 강하며, 추가되는 하드웨어 결선을 최소화할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 HBML 인버터 출력 생성 시 반드시 요구되는 출력 PWM 동기 및 위상전이(Phase Shift)를 각 제어기 자체에 내장된 모듈만을 이용해서 구현하였다.

  • The mixed $H_2/ H_\infty$ control method is one of positive approaches to design a controller having both the$H_2$-performance and the $H_\infty$-robust stability. In this paper, Firstly, The tracking Performance to be designed has been represented as $H_2$-norms for the plants with uncertainties. Secondly, $H_\infty$-norm have been set up in order to ensure the robust stabilities. The mixed digital controllers have been designed for an inverted system. The mixed $H_2/ H_\infty$digital controller for the inverted pendulum system was intended to stabilize the unstability of the plant together with the good tracking Performance.

  • This paper suggests a design method of the optimal PD control system having robust performance. This PD control system is designed by applying genetic algorithm(GA) with reference model to the optimal determination of proportional(P) gain and derivative(D) gain that are given by PD servo controller. These proportional and derivative gains are simultaneously optimized in the search domain guaranteeing the robust performance of closed-loop system. This PD control system is applied to the fuel-injection control system of diesel engine and compared with ${\mu}$ -synthesis control system for robust performance. The effectiveness of this PD control system is verified by computer simulation.

  • In this paper, electronic-controlled power supply(EPS) system for solar cell characteristic is proposed to solve various problems and to achieve reliable experimental result on photovoltaic system. This system emulates the solar cell output characteristics, and it can substitute solar cell in laboratory experiment system. New model for solar cell is proposed to realize the EPS system for solar cell, which is based on the interpolation. Both simulation and experiment are executed to show the validity of the proposed EPS system.

  • In this paper, the standard Dole, Glover, Khargoneker, and Francis (abbr. : DGKF 1989) H\ulcorner controller (H\ulcornerC) is extended to the nonlinear feedback linearization-H\ulcorner/sliding mode controller (NFL-H\ulcorner/SMC), to tackle the problem of the unmeasurable state variables as in the conventional SMC, to obtain smooth control as the linearized controller in a linear system, and to improve the time-domain performance under a worst scenario. The proposed controller is obtained by combining the H\ulcorner estimator with the nonlinear feedback linearization-sliding mode controller (NFL-SMC) and it does not need to measure all the state variables as in the traditional SMC. The proposed controller is applied as a nonlinear power system stabilizer (PSS) for the improvement of the power system damping characteristics of an single machine infinite bus system (SMIBS) connected through a double circuit line. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified by nonlinear time-domain simulation in case of a 3-cycle line-to-ground fault and in case of the parameter variations for the AVR gain K\ulcorner and for the inertia moment M.

The Effect of pH on the Formation of Acrylamide and Acrylate from Glucose and Fructose with Amino Acid Enantiomers in the Maillard Reaction

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of pH on the formation of acrylamide and acrylate from glucose and fructose reacting with amino acid enantiomers by the Maillard reaction. The acrylamide content was increased with increasing pH, except for Fru/D-Asn system. Both acrylamide and acrylate contents were higher in the glucose-based system compared to the fructose-based system at pH 10.0. However, according to amino acid enantiomers, only the acrylamide content showed a difference in the fructose-based system. In addition, the acrylate content was increased with increasing pH except in the Glc/L-Asn system. Acrylate formation was observed specifically at pH 4.0 for both the Glc/D-Asn and Fru/D-Asn systems.

  • This paper proposes a new sliding surface which can have the same dynamics of nominal system based on SVM(Support Vector Machines). The conventional sliding mode control can not have the properties of $H_{\infty}$ controller because its sliding surface has lower order dynamics than the original system. The additional states must be used to solve this problem. However, The sliding surface of this paper can have the dynamics of $H_{\infty}$ control system by using support vector machines without defining any additional dynamic state. By using SVM, the property of $H_{\infty}$ control system can be estimated as a relationship between the states. With this relationship, a new sliding surface can be designed and have $H_{\infty}$ control system properties. As a result, in spite of the parameter uncertainty, the proposed controller can have the same dynamic of nominal system controlled by $H_{\infty}$ controller.
