  • The growth of a game character is represented by the addition and subtraction of the status value. The status factors are variously defined and used depending on the kind of games. In this paper, we propose how character 's status elements are defined and used. We also propose a method for assigning a status value when generating a character considering growth. This method is designed using genetic algorithms to link the growth of a character with an element of time and to generate a character with the appropriate status value according to the change of time. The proposed method is verified through experiments based on time variation.

  • Star characters play a key role in the background of contents that secure global competitiveness. In this study, we study the growth factors and transitional forms of Nintendo Super Mario Bros. and suggest the direction of nurturing Korean star characters. As a result of the analysis of Super Mario Bros., it was possible to derive the growth factors of Originality, repeatability, Continuity, Pertain, and Star Fame and the transition result of step development method. Robot Taekwon V was presented as a reference model while Korean game characters with global competitiveness were excavated. Robot Taekwon V, which combines the features of friendly, unique, symbolism, and narrative, could be used to present a development model of the type of jump development. In the jump development model, character development and Upbringing, diversification of genre, pioneering of new markets combined with new technology, and fostering of characters through linkage with other industries were presented.

Nowadays 3D character animation holds a important position in the various industry fields including movie, advertisement, animation, and game. With the rapid growth of computer graphic, real time animation of complex characters as well as high quality rendering, which was impossible before, are now prevailing. What is remarkable in this growth is the appearance of virtual idol. The virtual idol plays a leading role in 3D character animation and has a synergy effect in the field of fancy and theme park industry. The aim of this inquiry is to examine the status of computer graphic skill and media related to the 3D character animation to search out the problems in the fields and to propose the solution of the problems

  • This study is aimed at prevention and countermeasurements of the mine wastewater pollution caused by a mineralized area using heavy metals. Objective of this study is selected to a high positive ion methathesis capacity of the environmental integrity character materials, as well as applied to the mine wastewater treatments. Also, the environmental integrity character materials is selected Kaolin. Silica, Zeolite, Fly ash. Thus, this environmental integrity character matters will be proved in the reduced heavy metals level and fine water quality of effluent.

  • Objectives This study was designed to find out the relationships between obesity and growth, skeletal maturity among children by analyzing body composition and bone age. Methods Subjects were composed of 577 children from six years to seventeen years of age, without any other diseases related to growth, were measured their body composition and bone age. Results As obesity index was increased, the RH-MPH(%) and skeletal maturity significantly was also increased. The RH-MPH(%) of the obesity group was significantly increased than that of normal weight group; the skeletal maturity was more increased in th obesity group. It means the recent height of obese children was more taller than that of inherited from the parents, while skeletal maturity of obese children was more rapidly progressing. The RH-MPH(%) was increased in children who revealed stage of second sexual character; skeletal maturity was decreased in children who developed secondary sexual character. Conclusions Obesity children might be taller than what it supposed to be. However, obesity could cause the increase of skeletal maturity. It means the growth plate of obese children has been closed early.

  • Human mind consists of what he or she knows, namely 'a portion of awareness', as well as of what he or she does not know, namely 'a portion of unawareness'.1) Self refers to both consciousness and unconsciousness, whereas self-growth seems to be an ability with which a human being appropriately faces with the hidden desire and resistance of unconsciousness for himself and maintains its balance and unification with consciousness harmoniously. On this account, examination on character's unconsciousness seems to be an important methodological means to prospect for the original looks of self, based on character's internal psychology, and to grasp the change and growth throughout the course. Study subjects, namely and , are quite similar in internal/external factors around the leading character. Two girl leading characters, who have nested in parental influences and boundaries, confront with unfamiliar circumstances under the abrupt absence of parents. In order to resist contradictory and irrational situations there and to restore all the things to its original places, both carry out a hard adventure. Interestingly, both characters are similar in their unconscious characteristics, but they take different channels for their journey, confronting attitudes and changes of internal self. The purpose of this study was to examine the concrete origin of two characters' unconsciousness and then comparatively analyze the role of leading character's unconsciousness in the drama and its effects on the whole work. Therefore, the author tried to prove such a hypothesis as the probability and persuasiveness of story could be found out through establishing a character of higher completion degree and connecting between situations and events that are most appropriate for character's internal unconscious psychology.

  • Although it is never easy to create charming characters that people can relate to, well-formed characters have the power to enable the audience to not only empathize but identify with them. Thus, there is a need for us to examine the parts that make up a well-formed character. According to empathy theory, when the character in the play has a human face that is not different from me, I can feel familiarity and human empathy. Rather than perfection without loopholes, I relate to and sympathize with someone who looks similar to me, with many mistakes and some lack. This study aims to examine the attractiveness of characters in narrative dramas in terms of defects and internal growth. To do this, we tried to compare the setting, evaluation, and performance of characters based on the movie worldviews of two famous brands (DC and Marble), which can be compared directly. I looked at it. In conclusion, the work of hero character but human character setting based on internal growth not only has high evaluation and public evaluation, but also high sales, and thus direct and indirect correlation with the public favorability is significant.

  • It can be assumed that the reasons why the animation characters, 'Olaf (in Frozen Kingdom)' and 'Minions (in Super Bad)', etc., which were very successful in the merchandising market while having won the popularity better than the main characters are very popular even though such characters appeared only by playing a funny role while assisting the adventures of the main characters are not only because of their cute appearances but also because such characters have their own core features in their inner world as the transitional object-characters. Simply expressing, a 'Transitional Object' as a concept suggested by a child psychologist, 'Donald Winnicott', means a lovey doll or an imaginary friend which temporarily replaces an infant's mother during the procedure when the infant is mentally separated from its mother. However, in case that the theory of transitional objects was applied directly to many narrative content characters for doing a study, there must have been done some studies in advance for establishing some new criteria and indexes related to the transitional object-characters of such narrative contents. Accordingly, while thinking that the 'emotional relationship' between a growth-subject and a growth mediator must be dealt with as the most important content in order to define a transitional object-character in a narration clearly, this researcher established some emotional index for judging the propensities of a transitional object-character on the basis of such way of thinking. The index is composed of 4 kinds of emotional roles (quasi-family member, growth mediator, lovey doll, an imaginary friend), 6 kinds of emotional supports (hugging, protecting, accepting, giving the initiative, improving the relationship and mutual supervising) and 4 kinds of emotional impressions (impression by contacting, impression to protect and impression accepting an attack). In case that some main characters of a family feature animation, 'Inside Out', are analyzed while the index mentioned above is applied, it was found that 'Bing Bong' and 'Sadness' have a high propensity as a transitional object-character. Especially, it could be inversely inferred in which ways some good transitional object-characters can help the narrations on growth of a family feature animation by taking a look at the character, 'Sadness' that has the highest propensity as a transitional object-character. The transitional object-character, 'Sadness' assists the narration on growth internally and externally by helping the internal maturity of a growth-subject in a way of projecting the tasks for the internal maturity of a growth-subject while helping the growth-subject to be successfully externally in a way of providing the growth-subject with some kinds of facilitating emotion. As the results from this Study, since such kinds of emotional experiences provided by such transitional object-characters are displaced to not only the relevant growth-subjects but also the audience who are emphasized with such growth-subjects as they are, such transitional object-characters play a role of hidden benefactors who induce some immersion into the narrations and provide child and adult audience with various layers of emotional satisfaction.
