Objective: This study examined the effects of dynamic tape applied to the patellofemoral joint on the knee valgus angle, muscle activity, and ground reaction force during a single leg squat (SLS) and single leg landing (SLL). Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Twenty-four subjects (11 male, 13 female) who met the inclusion criteria were screened by the knee palpation and patella compression tests. First, the knee valgus angle and muscle activity during SLS were measured. Second, the knee valgus angle and ground reaction force during SLL were measured. For the intervention, a patella joint loop using dynamic tape was used. The knee valgus angle, muscle activities in SLS and SLL after the intervention, and the ground reaction force were measured in the same way. A paired t-test was used to examine the difference between before and after the intervention. Results: The knee valgus angle showed a statistically significant improvement after dynamic taping application in SLS and SLL (p<0.05). The differences in muscle activity of the VL/VMO and ground reaction forces were not statistically significant after dynamic taping application in SLS and SLL. Conclusions: This study showed that dynamic taping applied around the patellofemoral joint was effective in improving the knee valgus angle in SLS and SLL and had a reduced risk of secondary injury during sports activity.
DATS which is one of three subsystems of IDACS is responsible to receive Sensor Data, LRIT and HRIT in L-Band and transmit LRIT and HRIT in S-Band from/to COMS satellite. This paper shows detailed test procedures used to verify the performance and functionality of DATS after its implementation was completely finished. As a part of efforts to verify key DATS performance, G/T and EIRP were measured by using solar flux density as radio source. Regarding the verification of DATS functionality, RF loop-back test was conducted to validate if there is no BER degradation excepting MODEM/BB implementation loss occurred in the integrated DATS. Integrated with 13m antenna, DATS successfully restored image from received MTSAT-1R broadcasting data, LRIT and HRIT, of which frequencies are all L-Band. S-Band transmission was also verified through test antenna placed away from 13m antenna by measuring real LRIT and HRIT spectrum in S-Band. From those test results, DATS is determined to be fully ready to communicate with COMS in L-Band and S-Band.

Congestion of the city with the rapid industrial development was accelerated to build complex social infrastructure. And numerous structures have been designed and constructed in accordance with these requirements. Recently, to solve complex urban traffic, many researches of large-diameter tunnel under construction downtown are in progress. The large-diameter tunnel has been developed with a versatile double-deck of deep depth tunnel. For the safe tunnel construction, ground reinforcement methods have been developed in the weakened pillar section like as junction of tunnel. This paper focuses on evaluation of the effects of new developed ground reinforcement methods in double-deck junction. The values of reinforcement determined from the existing and developed methods were compared to each other by numerical simulation.

Until recently, most of GCS(Ground Control Software) has been required to visualize attitude, position, status of vehicle and to transmit control and mission commands for a single UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). However, the GCS needs to expand its functions to handle more complex situations. Simultaneous operation of multiple UAVs is emerging as a new practice. Hence, we set up requirements for operation of multiple UAVs and suggest the architecture of GCS that satisfy the requirements. In this study, we analyze the upper requirements and define the total structure of GCS at first. Then we design the inner structure for requirements in detail. Finally, we verify the functions of GCS on PILS(Processor In the Loop Simulation) System.
Geothermal energy is easy to take advantage of renewable energy stored in the earth and the heat exchanger can be collected through a heat exchange piping system. In this study, have been developed a heat exchange pipe loop system which it could be installed in tunnel segmental linings to collect geothermal energy around the tunnel. The heat exchange pipe loop system incorporated in the tunnel segments circulate fluid to transport with heat from the surrounding ground and the heat can be used for heating and cooling of nearby structures or districts. The segmental lining incorporating heat exchange pipe loop system are called as ELS (Energy Lining Segment). There are a number of examples incorporating a heat exchange pipe loop system in a tunnel lining in Europe. In this study, a field case using Energy Lining Segment in Germany and applications in urban area are thoroughly examined. In addition, a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis was carried out to investigate heat flow in Energy Lining Segment.

This study was conducted to evaluate performance of geothermal heat exchanger (GHE) in the combined well and open-closed loops geothermal (CWG) systems. The CWG systems were designed to combine open loop geothermal heat pumps and closed loop geothermal heat pumps for high energy efficiency. GHE of the CWG systems could be installed at pumping wells for agricultural usage. To get optimal heat exchange capacity of GHE of the CWG systems, 4 GHEs with various materials and apertures were tested at laboratory scale. Polyethylene (PE) and stainless steel (STS) were selected as GHE materials. The maximum heat exchange capacity of GHEs were estimated to be in the range of 33.0~104 kcal/min. The heat exchange capacity of STS GHEs was 2.4~3.2 times higher than that of PE GHE. The optimal cross section area of GHE and flow rate of circulating water of GHE were estimated to be $2,500mm^2$ and 113 L/min, respectively. For more complicated GHE of the CWG systems, it is necessary to evaluate GHEs at various scales.

Open-loop groundwater heat pump (GWHP) system generally has benefits such as a higher coefficient of performance (COP), lower initial cost, and flexible system size. The hydrogeological conditions in Korea have the potential to facilitate the use of the GWHP system because a large number of monitoring wells show stable groundwater temperatures, shallow water levels, and high well yields. However, few studies have been performed in Korea regarding the GWHP system and the most studies among them dealt with Standing Column Well (SCW). Because the properties of the aquifer have an influence on designing open-loop systems, it is necessary to perform studies on various hydrogeological settings. In this study, the hydrogeological and thermal properties were estimated through various tests in the riverside alluvial layer where a GWHP system was installed. Under different groundwater flow velocities and pumping and injection rates, a sensitivity analysis was performed to evaluate the effect of such properties on the design of open-loop systems. The results showed that hydraulic conductivity and thermal dispersivity of the aquifer are the most sensitive parameters in terms of performance and environmental aspects, and sensitivities of the properties depend on conditions.

Unsteady aerodynamic analysis of an air-pressure-levitated high-speed ground vehicle moving over the nonplanar ground surface are performed using the boundary-element method. The potential flow solution is included in a time-stepping loop and the wake is captured as part of the solution. When the vehicle moving inside the channel, the lift coefficient and the pitching moment coefficient of the vehicle are increased further because the air trapped by the channel increases the ground effect. In other words, the nonplanar ground surface such as the channel decreases further the longitudinal stability of the vehicle. On the other hand, there is little difference between the ground and the channel in the lateral stability of the vehicle because the lift increment due to the nonplanar ground surface such as the channel takes place on both sides of the wing with the same rate of increase.
Evaluation on the sidesway seismic collapse capacity of the widely used low- and medium-height structures is meaningful. These structures with such type of collapse are recognized that behave as inelastic deteriorating single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) systems. To incorporate the deteriorating effects, the hysteretic loop of the nonlinear SDOF structural model is represented by a tri-linear force-displacement relationship. The concept of collapse capacity spectra are adopted, where the incremental dynamic analysis is performed to check the collapse point and a normalized ground motion intensity measure corresponding to the collapse point is used to define the collapse capacity. With a large amount of earthquake ground motions, a systematic parameter study, i.e., the influences of various ground motion parameters (site condition, magnitude, distance to rupture, and near-fault effect) as well as various structural parameters (damping, ductility, degrading stiffness, pinching behavior, accumulated damage, unloading stiffness, and P-delta effect) on the structural collapse capacity has been performed. The analytical formulas for the collapse capacity spectra considering above influences have been presented so as to quickly predict the structural collapse capacities.

Bentonite-based grouting has been usually used for sealing a borehole installed for a closed-loop vertical ground heat exchanger in a geothermal heat pump system (GHP) because of its high swelling potential and low hydraulic conductivity. The bentonite-based grout, however, has relatively lower thermal conductivity than that of ground formation. Accordingly, it is common to add some additives such as silica sand into the bentonite-based grout for enhancing heat transfer. In this study, graphite is adapted to substitute silica sand as an addictive because graphite has very high thermal conductivity. The effect of graphite on the thermal conductivity of bentonite-based grouts has been quantitatively evaluated for seven bentonite grouts from different product sources. In addition, the viscosity of graphite-added bentonite grout was measured to evaluate the field pumpability of the grout.
