  • Purpose: To assess Google Trends (GT) search behavior regarding orofacial pain (OFP) and headaches. Methods: GT scores for OFP and headache specialists between February 2013 and December 2022 were analyzed. Statistical tests such as Poisson regression analyses, mean differences, and Cohen's D were used to assess the score change over time. Results: The top three search words for OFP specialists were "temporomandibular joint (TMJ) specialist," "TMJ doctor," and "TMJ dentist," whereas the top three search words for headache specialists were "Headache specialist," "Headache doctor," and "Migraine specialist." Here, TMJ is temporomandibular joint. The GT scores for OFP specialists increased significantly (p<0.05) for all years except 2017, with the highest mean difference in 2020. The scores for headache specialists showed similar trends but gradually. Conclusions: The interest in OFP and headache specialists expressed by Google searches has increased over the years. More awareness is needed regarding the OFP scope of practice, and the use of GT may serve as an indicator.

  • The best known software developers all offer cloud storage services. Microsoft offers Onedrive to its users, Apple offers iCloud Drive and Google offers Google Drive or GDrive. The battle between these software developers is ongoing and they will always strive to give the best services to their users. It is not only technology that is evolving, however, but also ways in which security can be breached and data abused. The security of information on the Internet is increasingly at risk and there are many threats to cloud storage platforms. This research used the mobile forensics approach to help in identifying and analyzing user behavior that may occur while using GDrive application for cybercrime. The novelty of comparison and analyzing methods performed in this research can help to find remnant data from all activities performed by GDrive users in Android smartphones. Hence, this proposed method can assist investigators in finding remnant data on GDrive client and can provide knowledge for legal practitioners.

  • Flipped learning is a new learning technique which can maximize the learning effect by mixing two or more different learning environments including online & offline, and recently introduced system: 'Google classroom' is the optimized internet platform for flipped learning. This study tried to apply flipped learning to regular course 2nd grade dental students(n=70) and evaluated the satisfaction of students. The subjects of periodontology and operative dentistry were chosen to evaluate flipped learning model for regular course 2nd grade dental students(n=70). Each class consisted of six classes, and three times of them were performed in conventional classes and the other three times were in flipped learning method by using Google classroom. Evaluation of satisfaction progressed at the end of class. In this study, application of flipped learning in the dental college classes showed high efficiency in terms of degree of understanding, self-directed learning and motivation. Collectively, it was shown that flipped learning using Google classroom can be a reliable platform in dental classes.

  • This study aims to review the possibility of OA to international journal articles cited by researchers of the library and information science field in Korea. For this, the international journal articless cited to the articles (1,543) of the Korean Society for Information Management were collected, and the investigation was carried out regarding the OA policy of the international journals and the status of journals that can be open to the public through the OA according to the OA policy. In addition, this study analyzed the actual accessibility by utilizing the OA finders (Google Scholar, Unpaywall, OA Button). The analysis result indicated that the majority of the international journals were using the green OA policy. Also, 1,476 journal articles which is 95.4% of the total international journal articles were allowed to be accessed officially with the OA. The results of reviewing the actual accessibility rate of the journal articles open to the public through the use of the OA finders indicated that accessibility was up to 68% when using Google Scholar, and the maximum accessibility rate was 72% when mixing the OA finders. Among the OA finders, Google Scholar had the greatest OA accessibility rate, but it was desirable to mix the OA finders in order to expand the OA accessibility rate to the maximum level.

  • The demand for map applications in both Web and mobile environments has been rapidly increased with the population of Web and smart phone usage. Web-based map applications are mostly developed on such environments as ArcGIS and MapServer and mobile map applications are developed on such API levels as Google Maps and Yahoo Maps. But many parts of map applications are still constructed by coding because these environments don't support high level of automation. Our MapAppGen that we have designed and implemented enhances the Web-based map application productivity by generating the map related modules that can be applied to the Drupal that is one of popular content management systems(CMS's). Comparing the applications that are constructed by the Drupal-supported GMap or NodeMap, the applications that are constructed by MapAppGen provide information on not only the interested geographical feature but also its related geographical features. MapAppGen uses Google Maps API and Drupal is a module-based system that supports the creation, composition and management of contents. We are now working on automatic generation of mobile map applications with MapAppGen.

  • This study aimed to inquire into possibilities of the web-based representation of thematic maps by geo-information mashup in the geoweb platform. In the Web2.0, Google platform leads the geoweb by offering effective mashup functions for geo-information. Geo-information mashup is opening a new horizon of map applications in fusion with a great of data in the Internet. Geo-information mashup by the available data method can be classified as two type; one is linkage of sources of platform itself(satellite images) and external data, the other is linkage of platform itself and user created contents. This study made heatmap, proportional map, and choropleth map based on Google satellite images by the linkage of platform itself and external data. As a result, thematic map of Google mashup expected to give us to a flexibility for difference interpretations of geographical distribution by representing overlap with satellite images.

  • There are expectations about future internet technology with IT development by end-users. Cloud computing is attracted to satisfy those demands. However, adoption of cloud computing is not active that much. Therefore, this study verified how cloud computing environment affects performance of team project. We conducted empirical study on performance of team project with cloud computing as technology tool focusing on Task-Technology Fit Model. We collected samples that were undergraduate and graduate school students and had experience on initial cloud computing such as Google-Docs and Webhard when they conducted team project for assignment. We focused on accessibility and reliability as task-technology fit and those variables treated as first order factor. Result showed that cloud computing is suitable technology tool for team project. This study suggests positive effects of cloud computing for collaboration by proving perceived fit and performance in initial cloud computing.

  • This study aims to analyze and evaluate term suggestion services of major search portals, Naver and Google Korea. In particular, this study evaluated relevance and currency of related search terms provided, and analyzed characteristics such as number and distribution of terms, and queries that did not produce terms. This study also analyzed types of terms in terms of the relationship between queries and terms, and investigated types and characteristics of harmful terms and terms with grammatical errors. Finally, Korean queries and English queries, and popular queries and academic queries were compared in terms of the amount and relevance of search terms provided. The results of this study show that the relevance and currency of Naver's related search terms are somewhat higher than those of Google. Both Naver and Google tend to add terms to or delete terms from original queries, and provide identical search terms or synonym terms rather than providing entirely new search terms. The results of this study can be implemented to the portal's effective development of term suggestion services.
