A Hanbitho, which is a ship to measure maritime transportation system, observes and estimates the maritime transportation system and its signal to be able to receive in our closed sea New GNSS systems are constructed such as GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, however, our ships can use SBAS service such as MSAS of Japan. So, it is needed to reconstruct new measuring system to observe and estimate new GNSS and SBAS. In this paper, we propose the upgrade method of Hanbiho measuring system.
In the case of satellite navigation positioning, the shielding of satellite signals is determined by the environment of the region at which a user is located, and the navigation performance is determined accordingly. The accuracy of user position determination varies depending on the dilution of precision (DOP) which is a measuring index for the geometric characteristics of visible satellites; and if the minimum visible satellites are not secured, position determination is impossible. Currently, the GLObal NAvigation Satellite system (GLONASS) of Russia is used to supplement the navigation performance of the Global Positioning System (GPS) in regions where GPS cannot be used. In addition, the European Satellite Navigation System (Galileo) of the European Union, the Chinese Satellite Navigation System (BeiDou) of China, the Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS) of Japan, and the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) of India are aimed to achieve the full operational capability (FOC) operation of the navigation system. Thus, the number of satellites available for navigation would rapidly increase, particularly in the Asian region; and when integrated navigation is performed, the improvement of navigation performance is expected to be much larger than that in other regions. To secure a stable and prompt position solution, GPS-GLONASS integrated navigation is generally performed at present. However, as available satellite navigation systems have been diversified, finding the minimum satellite constellation combination to obtain the best navigation performance has recently become an issue. For this purpose, it is necessary to examine and predict the navigation performance that could be obtained by the addition of the third satellite navigation system in addition to GPS-GLONASS. In this study, the current status of the integrated navigation performance for various satellite constellation combinations was analyzed based on 2014, and the navigation performance in 2020 was predicted based on the FOC plan of the satellite navigation system for each country. For this prediction, the orbital elements and nominal almanac data of satellite navigation systems that can be observed in the Korean Peninsula were organized, and the minimum elevation angle expecting signal shielding was established based on Matlab and the performance was predicted in terms of DOP. In the case of integrated navigation, a time offset determination algorithm needs to be considered in order to estimate the clock error between navigation systems, and it was analyzed using two kinds of methods: a satellite navigation message based estimation method and a receiver based method where a user directly performs estimation. This simulation is expected to be used as an index for the establishment of the minimum satellite constellation for obtaining the best navigation performance.
In this paper, we design a direct radio frequency (RF) sampling receiver for multiband GNSS signals and demonstrate its performance. The direct RF sampling is a technique that does not use an analog mixer, but samples the passband signal directly, and all receiver processes are done in digital domain, whereas the conventional intermediate frequency (IF) receiver samples the IF band signals. In contrast to the IF sampling receiver, the RF sampling receiver is less complex in hardware, reconfigurable, and simultaneously converts multiband signals to digital signals with an analog-to-digital (AD) converter. The reconfigurability and simultaneous reception are very important in military applications where rapid change to other system is needed when a system is jammed by an enemy. For simultaneous reception of multiband signals, the sampling frequency should be selected with caution by considering the carrier frequencies, bandwidths, desired intermediate frequencies, and guard bands. In this paper, we select a sampling frequency and design a direct RF sampling receiver to receive multiband global navigation satellite system (GNSS) signals such as GPS L1, GLONASS G1 and G2 signals. The receiver is implemented with a commercial AD converter and software. The receiver performance is demonstrated by receiving the real signals.

This paper describes the progress and results of 'Wide Area Differetial GNSS (WA-DGNSS) Development' project which is supported by Korea Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. This project develops the main algorithm of the WA-DGNSS which can guarantee the improved accuracy, availability and integrity all over the Korean peninsula. After the establishment of WA-DGNSS ground system, a real time demonstration using pseudolite will be conducted. Product of this project will be directly utilized in Korean Satellite Based Augmentation System(SBAS) development project which is planned to be started from 2014.

Container Security Device (ConTracer) which is suggested in this study is to monitor temperature, humidity, and impact inside of the container while the container is transported. ConTracer could also give information to users when a door of the container is opened over 2 inch within 1 second. Additionally, GPS/GLONASS based global position and status information about container are transmitted to a remote server using IoT (Internet of Things) based communication. In this research, we are looking into the development trend of global container security devices; and applying ConTracer to real freight transport from domestic to overseas using Global Roaming Service which is offered for domestic Mobile Communication Companies as well. As a result, we estimate the performance of ConTracer and verify it.

The Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) broadcasts to users integrity and correction information for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) such as GPS and GLONASS using geostationary orbit (GEO) satellites. In accordance with the recommendation of the International Civilian Aeronautical Organization (ICAO) to introduce SBAS until 2025, a Korean SBAS system development / construction project is underway with the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) is a high precision GPS correction system which is composed of KASS Reference Station (KRS), KASS Processing Station (KPS), KASS Uplink Station (KUS), KASS Control Station (KCS) and GEO satellites. In this paper, we provided the conceptual design of the KASS uplink station, which is composed of the Signal Generator Section (SGS) and the Radio-Frequency Section (RFS), and interface between the KASS ground sector and the GEO satellite.

After USA removed the Selective Availability (SA), Global Positioning System (GPS) has monopolized the world market and other countries have been depended on GPS, absolutely. So the other countries, Russia, European Community (EC) and Japan, which apprehend to monopolize in technical and strategic parts, are developing the next generation GNSS including GLONASS Galileo and JRANS. And the countries are planning to provide the another GNSS. This research has focused on the next generation GNSS system based on GPS and Galileo system with developing a GNSS simulation software, named as GlMS2005, which generates and analyzes satellite constellation and measurements. Based on the software, a variety of simulation tests have been carried out to recognize limits of GPS-only system and potential benefits of integrated GPS/Galileo positioning in terms of satellite geometry strength and solution accuracy.

This study examined cadastral surveying technology regulated under the "Special Law for the cadastral surveying", and analyzed the related surveying methods currently used. Based on the analysis, this study suggested the efficient application plan future cadastral surveying projects. The new technologies analyzed were GNSS, GPS RTK, Network RTK, GPS Augmentation System, and the mobile and auto sighting TS. As a result of the analysis, this study suggests that if a receiving technology is possible for the integrated receiving of GPS/GLONASS/Galileo systems, both the accuracy of location determination could be enhanced and stable data could be obtained. The Network RTK technology may solve the constraint receiving factors of satellite information in the long term if a GPS Augmentation System is used. Finally, mobile and auto sighting TS technologies can reduce the personnel factors, but can be applied after the offset problem is overcome.
