We live in a global village that requires a language with a genuinely global status as a means of communication. During the twentieth century, English has clearly emerged as the lingua franca owing to both past British political imperialism and the more recent superpower status of the United States. Further contributing to world domination of the English language is the fact that the computer and Internet sprang from the US. Whether you like it or not, you are destined to learn English at least to some extent in order to live in this global village. For the last two decades, one of the most mistaken ideas a number of Korean English teachers have had is that speaking and listening are the primary forms of language, while reading and writing are secondary. In fact, reading is regarded as a skill of much consequence to us since it provides us with access to a huge quantity of information on the Internet, of which at least 80% is written in English. Writing, too, deserves a great deal of attention because we are increasingly called upon to use standard English expressions. As diligent learners of English, we had better not forget the place accorded to language not only as a medium for exchange and constructing information but as a tool for thinking. So we should try to think in English to the point where we have thinking-in-English as a habit, thereby leading to increased familiarity with the language. Such familiarity entails, above all, possessing a command of English.

This study shed light on the status of Korean Kimchi industry in overseas markets and presented methods for promoting Kimchi industry of Gwangju Jeonnam metropolitan city and stimulating the export of Kimchi produced in Gwangju Jeonnam, a city that has come to the fore as the center of Kimchi industry, which aimed to explore the ways of ratcheting up competitiveness of Kimchi industry in the global market as Kimchi has become more likely to be globalized amid the recent "Korea Trend" boom and the growing consumption of fermented food. Therefore, methods for promoting Kimchi industry and stimulating the export of Kimchi should be explored to ensure the promotion of Kimchi industry and the stimulation of the export of Kimchi, ultimately restoring the status of Korea as the home of Kimchi, in consideration of the great spillover effect on the regional economy, through a series of measures such as the clusterization of Kimchi industry, expansion of cultural experience projects related to Kimchi for the globalization and the increased consumption of Kimchi, government support to increase Kimchi companies in size and achieve the modernization of Kimchi companies, introduction of Kimchi KS audit system and quality certification system, development of new product targeting global market and making Kimchi a high-end product, expansion of export, support of export market diversification, assurance of safety and price competitiveness of Kimchi, differentiated production and marketing strategy by means of technological research, and others.

This paper uses the status inconsistency theory to identify factors related to team members' (dis)satisfaction with the composition of virtual IT project teams in order to predict their turnover intentions. Our approach is based on the premise that virtual teams, although increasingly popular among global organizations, create an environment replete with cultural and functional diversity. Yet, a paradox exists: increasing diversity in virtual teams maximizes the creation and use of organizational knowledge while simultaneously increasing dissatisfaction and turnover. This is a critical issue in the formation and management of virtual teams. Therefore, we investigate how team members' perceptions of differences among themselves (i.e. foreignness) impact the stability of team membership, leading to what we describe as a 'liability of foreignness.' Findings indicate that a member's perception of foreignness has a detrimental effect on satisfaction with his or her team members while satisfaction is likely to decrease turnover intention. This may be an implication that managers need to maintain a balance in order to discourage member turnover and the loss of key players.

Background: The objectives of the study are to find out the effect of the implementing reform in three Central Asian countries, identify its impact on health status and health care delivery systems. This study address to identify strong and weak points of the health systems and provide a recommendation for further health care organization. Methods: A comparative analysis was conducted to evaluate the effects of implemented policy on health care system efficiency and equity. Secondary data were collected on selected health indicators using information from the World Health Organization Global Health Expenditure Database, European Health Information Platform, and World Bank Open Data. Results: In terms of population status, countries achieved relatively good results. Infant mortality and under-5 mortality rate decreased in all countries; also, life expectancy increased, and it was more than 70 years. Regulations of the health systems are still highly centralized, and the Ministry of Health is the main organ responsible for national health policy developing and implementation. Among the three countries, only Kyrgyzstan was successful in introducing a national health system. Distribution of health expenditure between public expenditure and out-of-pocket payments was decreased, and out-of-pocket payments were less the 50% of total health expenditure in all countries, in 2014. Conclusion: After independent, all three countries implemented a certain number of the policy reform, mostly it was directed to move away from the old the Soviet system. Subsequent reform should be focused on evidence-based decision making and strengthening of primary health care in terms of new public health concepts.

After reviewing the current status of hydrogen buses and hydrogen charging stations in the United States, as well as related laws and programs, it was found that the federal and state governments supported the supports of hydrogen buses and the deployment of hydrogen charging infrastructure through various policies and programs. In order to promote the spread of domestic and overseas hydrogen buses and hydrogen charging infrastructure, it is necessary to develop and apply various legal systems and programs that can provide incentives to hydrogen bus manufacturers, hydrogen charging station installers, hydrogen bus operating organizations and entities. In recent years, technological competition in the automobile sector is accelerating. This study analyzes the status of patents from a global perspective of three promising future items that Korea has selected as core technologies in the field of autonomous driving,. And the technological cooperation ecosystem was identified through network analysis centered on scientific metrology. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the growth of individual technologies has been strengthened in recent years, and although key source technologies have been largely preempted in major global countries, a close cooperative ecosystem between institutions, companies, and universities in major countries has not yet been formed. Specifically, the US and Japan have the technological leadership, while China is rapidly rising, and Korea is chasing after it as a latecomer. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously strengthen technological cooperation such as R&D of core technology to overcome technological limitations and strengthening of infrastructure construction, attracting excellent foreign talents and international exchanges. This analysis is meaningful in that it explores the global status of Korea's technology and the possibility of technological cooperation from various perspectives in the future from the viewpoint of preoccupation of future technology, rather than grasping the trend of a specific technology.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how future images are embodied in contemporary fashion design. To find out future images expressed in contemporary fashion design, this paper characterized the future society as information society, network society, pluralistic society, and global village. Cyber design and techno-style expressed through metal or lustrous material which is influenced by information symbolize future image. Also, minimalism which is characterized as simplicity and purity affects the contemporary fashion design. The network society which affets t the horizontal and functional social system diminishes the meaning of socio-economic status. Therefore, street fashion has diffused to high fashion, and the formal wear has tendency to be changed into casual wear. In addition, the meaning of status symbol in contemporary fashion design become decreased. The pluralistic society affects to search for one's own personality and identity. Also, contemporary fashion design is influenced by post-modernism and deconstructionism. In order words, genderless, ageles, seasonless, and infra fashion appeared. The global village emphasizes extension of universality in life style and search for world quality. so, ethnic fashions appear frequently in contemporary fashion design. Also, the effects of Korean traditional costume to contemporary fashion design has increased.

Recently, wind power generation is an emerging industry expanding its market rapidly thanks to the increasing need to solve the scarcity of fossil fuels and the risk of potential global warming. Wind power generation has shown to be an effective response plan to global warming, showing the most price competitiveness among the renewable energy sources by its higher efficiency. Therefore wind energy has attracted considerable attention as the industrial growth drive for the next generation. Considering Korea's high dependence of overseas energy resources, the importance of wind power is growing as the most effective alternative energy source to ensure energy security as well as becoming a key strategic industry for exports. In this study, the social and economic effects of the wind power industry is discussed and the current status and the future prospects of the wind energy market is also examined.

Recently leading edge companies use the Supply Chain Management as a competitive weapon to secure and maintain customer loyalty. As a consequency they are concentrating resources on the company’s core business and employing strategic alliances with third-party providers to ensure the company provides its customers’desired logistics service levels at acceptable costs. Under this circumstances this paper surveys the third party logistics as a leading edge logistics industry coping with the progress of the supply chain management. The status and the type of the TPL including the Forwarder are analyzed in the view point of global logistics. Also the development strategy of third party logistics in the future is suggested.

The photovoltaic(PV) industries have been increasing steadily above averaged 30%. Japan, Germany and USA have been playing a leading part in photovoltaic industry. In this paper, we review status of the global PV market and distribution around these countries. From the results, we will intend to supply the useful materials for domestic PV distribution.
