Organic semi-conductive materials have characteristics such as the advantages of easy formability, low-cost and diversity along with moderate semi-conductive properties. In this paper, we developed a flexible organic-inorganic hybrid solar cell fiber. First, we made a solar cell on the glass and attached the solar cell on the glass fiber similarly. In the latter case, thermal deposition method was employed in order to effectively apply ITO onto fiber surface. The amount of ITO was controlled by varying the temperature from 25, 150 to $300^{\circ}C$. Optimum result was obtained at $150^{\circ}C$ where maximize the deposition amount without significant decomposition of ITO. Despite of maximum open circuit voltage of 0.39V, the resulting current was quite unstable and weak, limiting realistic applications. It was, however, concluded that the flexible solar cell fiber developed showed a possibility of low-weight application from functional clothing for military to space suit mainly due to flexibility and thus wear ability.
In this study, composite materials were prepared by varying the content of glass fiber and bamboo fiber in PP/glass fiber/bamboo fiber. Experiments were conducted to confirm the mechanical properties(tensile, impact and burst strength) and volatile organic compound content of the bamboo fiber composite prepared under these conditions. An improvement in the main properties was observed at a fiber content of 30wt%. When the fiber fraction was increased above 30wt%, the mechanical properties tended to decrease due to the agglomeration of fibers at higher load fractions. In addition, the content of volatile organic compounds increased as the content of bamboo fibers increased, which is thought to be due to the volatile organic compounds generated during the manufacturing process of the composite material being present in the composite material without escaping from the pores of the bamboo fibers and volatilizing at a certain temperature. As a result of confirming the physical properties of the composite, it is considered that the optimal mixing condition is 30wt% of bamboo fiber for the composite produced by varying the amount of bamboo fiber composite. In the future, it is thought that follow-up experiments to confirm and improve the pre-treatment conditions for reducing the content of volatile organic compounds in the manufactured composite material are possible.

The purpose of this study was to confirm the optimal spinning conditions for PLA (Polylactic acid) as a fiber forming polymer. According to the melt spinning test results of PLA, the optimal spinning temperature was 258℃. However, it needs to note that relatively high pack pressure was required for spinning at 258℃. At an elevated temperature, 262℃, mono filament was broken easily due to hydrolysis of PLA at a higher temperature. In case of fiber strength, it was confirmed that the draw ratios of 2.7 to 3.3 were optimal for maximum strength of melt spun PLA. Above the draw ratio, 3.3, the strength of the PLA fibers was lowered. It was presumed that cleavage of the PLA polymer chain over maximum elongation. The heat setting temperature of GR (Godet roller) showed that the maximum strength of the PLA fibers was revealed around 100℃. The degree of crystallinity and the strength of the PLA fibers were decreased above 100℃. The optimal take-up speed (Spinning speed) was around 4,000m/min. Thermal analysis of PLA showed 170℃ and 57℃ as Tm (melting temperature) and Tg (glass transition temperature), respectively.

The recent surge in night walkers and pedestrian traffic accidents has led to an increased interest in retro-reflection-based products, leading to several studies on retro-reflection. Nonetheless, achieving high durability and dispersibility of retro-reflective glass beads in viscous polyurethane coating resin remains challenging. To address this issue, this study conduct to functionalize the surface of glass beads for covalent conjugation to coating resin to enhance their dispersibility and durability in the coating resin. The study evaluated the dispersibility, chemical composition, and retro-reflection properties of the functionalized glass beads and coating resin. The results showed that the functionalized glass beads conjugated to the polyurethane coating resin and exhibited excellent dispersibility, high durability, and maintained retro-reflection efficiency.
In this study, interesting area of development is retro-reflective thin film and then slitting to form retro-reflective material to be conbined with other fibers to form having retro-reflective characteristics, which slitting yarn can then be to provide fabrics. Glass beads are microscopic spherical size with diameters ranging from several microns to several millimeters. Applying the effects of optical property, glass beads are consumed for road safety used to make traffic signs, safety clothing and others. Glass beads retro-reflective films can be turned into slit yarns through slitting yarn process. The slit yarns can be combined into textiles using diverse methods such as weaving to provide a fabric having retro-reflective characteristics. Lightness and Luminance was increased with decreasing of interval of slit yarn in the fabric. Also, the hue is shifted greenish and bluish with interval of slit yarn.
Solution-cast films of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and polyurethane (PU) containing polymeric styryl dye up to 5 % by weight were prepared to investigate their acid-sensitivity and mechanical and thermal properties. Original red samples due to styryl dye turned out yellow very rapidly as they were exposed to acid vapor of hydrochloric acid or p-toluenesulfonic acid. According to UV/VIS spectroscopic measurements, characteristic peak intensities near 430 nm and 520 nm increased or decreased relatively with exposed amounts of acid, respectively. Both PMMA and PU samples showed uniform color distribution due to a good miscibility between polymer and dye which can be evidenced by measurements of glass transition temperature. No significant difference in acid-sensitivity was found between PU and PMMA except relative absorbance. However, dependence of their mechanical properties on dye content was somewhat different with PU or PMMA. In case of PMMA, modulus and breaking stress increased up to about 50 % with increasing dye content, whereas those of PU samples showed only slight increase. It was ascribed to whether the matrix polymer was in the glassy or rubbery state.
The effect of compositions of isophorone diisocyanate (IPDl)/4.4'-diphenylmethane diisocyalate (MDI) and polypropylene oxide diol (PPG, $M_w$: 3000)/1,4-butane diol (BD) on the properties of UV-cured polyurethane acrylate films based on 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA) was examined. UV-curable polyurethane acrylates were formulated from the prepolymer. trimethylol propane triacrylate (TMPTA) as a reactive diluent, and 1-hydroxycyclohexyl ketone (Irgacure 184) as a photoinitiator. Dynamic mechanical thermal properties and elastic properties of UV-cured polyurethane acrylates was fecund to depend on the chemical composition of IPDl/MDl and PPG/BD. As the BD content increased, the tensile storage modulus of all series samples increased significantly. The storage modulus increased in the order of samples A (IPDI based samples)> samples B (IPDI/MDl (7/3 molar ratio) based samples) > samples C (IPDI/MDl (5/5 molar ratio) based samples at the same composition. Two distinct louts modulus peaks for all samples are observed owing to the softs segment glass transition temperature ($T_gh$) and hard segment glass transition temperature ($T_gh$). The difference between $T_gh$, and $T_gh$, (Δ$T_g$) increases in the order of A > B > C at the same composition. In cycle test, the initial onset strain (%) was found to decrease with increasing BD content in PPG/BD and with increasing MDI content in IPDI/MDl.
Demand for the fabric wipes is growing continuously. Wipes in industry are used for cleaning purpose. Cleaning involves rubbing action, so it is very important to know how much frictional force is encountered during the cleaning action. In this study the effects of normal load, sliding speed on frictional characteristics of nonwoven and woven wipes, both dry and wetted with different liquids, against glass and floor tile surfaces have been reported. With the increase in the normal load the coefficient of friction goes on decreasing for both nonwoven and woven wipes and this trend is observed in both dry and wet wipes. The coefficient of friction of both nonwoven and woven wipes against glass surface is in general higher than the floor tile surface. The wipes wetted with water shows an increase in coefficient of friction as compared to dry sample, but there is reduction in the coefficient of friction when the wipe samples are wetted with vegetable oil. In case of dry wipes, the coefficient of friction in case of nonwoven wipe is higher than the woven wipe. In case of woven wipes, the ranges of coefficient of friction either due to change in liquid type, normal load or sliding speed are in general smaller than that in case of nonwoven fabrics.

To develop automobile parts, the unsaturated polyester based matrix resin(PR)/reinforcement(randomly oriented chopped E-glass fiber, GF) composites were prepared using sheet molding compound(SMC) compression molding. The effects of GF length(0.5, 1.0 1.5 and 2.0inch)/content (15, 20, 25, 30wt%) and number of ply(3, 4 and 5) on the specific gravity and mechanical properties of PR/GF composites were investigated in this study. The optimum length of GF was found to be about 1.0inch for achieving improved mechanical properties(tensile strength and initial modulus). The tensile strength and initial modulus of composites increased with increasing GF content up to 30wt%, which is favorable content range for SMC. The specific gravity, tensile strength/initial modulus, compressive strength/modulus, flexural strength/modulus and shear strength increased with increasing the number of ply up to 5, which is the maximum number of ply range for SMC. The effectiveness of ply number increased in the flexural strength > shear strength > compressive strength > tensile strength.
Tire codes are made of materials such as hemp, cotton, rayon, nylon, steel, polyester, glass, and aramid are fiber reinforcement materials that go inside rubber to increase durability, driveability, and stability of vehicle tires. The reinforcement of the tire cord may construct a composite material using tires such as automobiles, trucks, aircraft, bicycles, and fibrous materials such as electric belts and hoses as reinforcement materials. Therefore, it is essential to ensure that the adhesive force between the rubber and the reinforced fiber exhibits the desired physical properties in the rubber composite material made of a rubber matrix with reinforced fibers. This study is a study on the heat treatment conditions for improving the adhesion strength of the tire cord and the reinforced fiber for tires. The core technology of the drying process is a uniform drying technology, which has a great influence on the quality of the reinforcement. Therefore, the uniform airflow distribution is determined by the geometry and operating conditions of the dryer. Therefore, this study carried out a numerical analysis of the shape of a drying nozzle for improving the performance of hot air drying in a dryer used for drying the coated reinforced fibers. In addition, the flow characteristics were examined through numerical analysis of the study on the change in the shape of the chamber affecting drying.
