  • 이 논문에서는 기하광학과 회절이론을 통하여 이론적으로 경로손실을 나타내는 식을 유도하였다. 이식을 이용하여 동일 층내에 위치한 안테나간의 전파 특성을 살펴보기 위하여 Bertoni가 사용한 건물과 같은 구조에 대하여 이전의 연구 결과와 비교하였다.

Effect of geometrical configuration on seismic behavior of GFRP-RC beam-column joints

  • Glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars have been introduced as an effective alternative for the conventional steel reinforcement in concrete structures to mitigate the costly consequences of steel corrosion. However, despite the superior performance of these composite materials in terms of corrosion, the effect of replacing steel reinforcement with GFRP on the seismic performance of concrete structures is not fully covered yet. To address some of the key parameters in the seismic behavior of GFRP-reinforced concrete (RC) structures, two full-scale beam-column joints reinforced with GFRP bars and stirrups were constructed and tested under two phases of loading, each simulating a severe ground motion. The objective was to investigate the effect of damage due to earthquakes on the service and ultimate behavior of GFRP-RC moment-resisting frames. The main parameters under investigation were geometrical configuration (interior or exterior beam-column joint) and joint shear stress. The performance of the specimens was measured in terms of lateral load-drift response, energy dissipation, mode of failure and stress distribution. Moreover, the effect of concrete damage due to earthquake loading on the performance of beam-column joints under service loading was investigated and a modified damage index was proposed to quantify the magnitude of damage in GFRP-RC beam-column joints under dynamic loading. Test results indicated that the geometrical configuration significantly affects the level of concrete damage and energy dissipation. Moreover, the level of residual damage in GFRP-RC beam-column joints after undergoing lateral displacements was related to reinforcement ratio of the main beams.

  • Metal pipes are used in a wide range of applications, from plumbing systems of large construction sites to small devices such as medical tools. When a liquid is enforced to flow through a metal pipe, a higher flow rate is beneficial for higher efficiency. Using high pressures can enhance the flow rate yet can be harmful for medical applications. Thus, we consider an optimal geometrical design to increase the flow rate in medical devices. In this study, we focus on cannulas, which are widely used small metal pipes for surgical procedures, such as liposuction. We characterize the internal flow rate driven by a negative pressure and explore its dependence on the key design parameters. We quantitatively analyze the suction characteristics for each design variable by conducting computational fluid dynamics simulations. In addition, we build a suction performance measurement system which enables the translational motion of cannulas with pre-programmed velocity for experimental validation. The inner diameter, section geometry, and hole configuration are the design factors to be evaluated. The effect of the inner diameter dominates over that of section geometry and hole configuration. In addition, the circular tube shape provides the maximum flow rate among the elliptical geometries. Once the flow rate exceeds a critical value, the rate becomes independent of the number and width of the suction holes. Finally, we introduce a slippery liquid-infused nanoporous surface (SLIPS) coating using nanoparticles and hydrophobic lubricants that effectively improves the flow rate and antifouling property of cannulas without altering the geometrical design parameter.

수학 영재 교육 대상 학생의 기하 인지 수준과 증명 정당화 특성 분석 (An Analysis of Justification Process in the Proofs by Mathematically Gifted Elementary Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초등수학 영재 교육 대상 학생들의 기하 인지 수준과 그들이 증명을 전개하는 과정에서 논리적인 정당화의 특성을 분석하고 이를 기반으로 수학 영재 교육을 위한 시사점을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 서울특별시 A영재교육원에 재학 중인 5, 6학년 학생 18명을 대상으로 그들의 기하 수준을 확인하고 그들이 기하문제를 증명을 하고 설명하는 과정에서 어떤 논리적인 정당화를 해 가는지 분석하였다. 연구 결과 이들은 van Hieles의 기하 사고의 0수준부터 4수준 중에서 대부분 2∼3수준에 있었다. 그리고 증명의 정당화 과정에서 이 영재 교육 대상 학생들은 잘라 붙이기와 수치적 접근을 사용하려는 시도와 이미 선행으로 학습한 내용의 기억을 되살려 사용하는 예가 많았고, 독창적이고 일반적인 증명으로 이끌어가는 데는 어려움을 가지고 있었다. 따라서 초등수학 영재 교육 대상자들을 위한 교육은 이들의 수준에 맞는 보다 정교화된 과제로 이들이 자신들의 증명의 정당화 과정을 인지하면서 보다 창의적이고 연역적 사고의 수준으로 이끌어 줄 필요가 있다.

  • 구조물이 거대해지고 복잡해지면서 미소변현을 전제로 한 선형이론으로는 해석이 불가능한 대변형 및 비선형 거동이 발생하는 경우가 많아지고 있다. 또한 고성능 컴퓨터의 등장과 다양한 수치해석 기법의 개발 등으로 보다 엄격한 설계기준에 따른 구조의 최적화 설계가 절실히 요구되고 있다. 그로 인해 선형 영역내에서 한정되었던 구조공학적인 문제를 비선형 영역까지 확대시켜 구조물의 거동을 보다 정확히 분석하고, 예상 가능한 문제점을 사전에 파악하여 효율적이고 경제적인 최적의 구조물을 설계해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 비등방성 원통형 쉘 구조물의 기하학적 비선형 문제를 해결하였다. 원통형 쉘의 반경방향 길이와 원통방향의 길이비인 형상비 변화, 부분 원통형 쉘의 중심각 변화, 화이버 각도 변화, 적층수와 배열조건 변화 등의 다양한 조건에 따라 비등방성 원통형 쉘 구조의 기하학적 비선형 거동특성을 분석하였다.

Research on the factors affecting the development of shrinkage cracks of rammed earth buildings

  • Rammed earth (RE) buildings have existed all over the world for thousands of years, and have gained increasing attention because of its sustainable advantages, however, the shrinkage cracks reduce its bearing capacity and seriously affect its durability and applicability. In this study, the shrinkage cracks test was carried out to investigate the effects of initial water content, proportion of sand and gravel, compaction degree, thickness and the additives (polypropylene fiber, cement and sodium silicate) of shrinkage cracks in RE buildings, ten groups of RE samples were prepared and dried outdoors to crack. Four quantitative parameters of geometrical structure of crack patterns were used to evaluate the development of cracks. The results show that the specimens cracking behavior and the geometrical structure of crack patterns are significantly influenced by these considered factors. The formation of crack can be accelerated with the increase of initial water content and thickness of specimen, while restricted with the increase of the compaction degree and the proportion of sand and gravel. Moreover, the addition of 1% polypropylene fiber, 10% cement and 0.5 volume ratio sodium silicate can significantly restrain the form and development of cracks. In RE construction, these factors should be considered comprehensively to prevent the harm caused by shrinkage cracks. Further works should be carried out to obtain the optimum dosage of the additives, which can benefit the construction of RE buildings in future.

  • 본 연구에서는 중학교 3학년 학생들에게 닮은 삼각형의 대응변 사이에 성립하는 비례적 성질에 기초하여 역동적 기하환경에서 이차방정식 $x^2-ax+b^2=0$의 해를 작도할 수 있는 기회를 제공하였다. 이 예비연구를 통해 이차방정식의 해에 대한 학생들의 기하학적 직관을 촉진시키고 $a$$b$의 값에 따라 이차방정식의 해가 어떻게 달라지는지 시각적으로 확인해 보게 하였다. 또한, 이 과정에서 학생들이 이차방정식의 해를 구하기 위해서 어떤 전략을 사용하는지 분석하여 이차방정식 지도 방법의 새로운 가능성을 살펴보고자 하였다.

한국 현대건축의 공간.형태에서 나타난 탈정형적 표현에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ex-Formal Expression Observed in Space.Form of Korean Modern Architecture)

  • In this study, the ex-formal expressions observed in space form of Korean modern architecture are distributed for characteristic analysis based on the period and type. The result of the study is certified by the work analysis and the result is as follows. Initially, due to the limited materials and influence of western brutalism, the works developed during 1960~70 tend to be plastic and contain expressionism. Around 1980's, the works tend to show forms of amusement and popularity. In 1990's the works show significance in deconstructive expression. From after 2000, ecological concept of architecture was introduced and organic expression started increasing Secondly, the ex-formal expressions are found to be in four different types. The organic expression is shown regardless of the period. In modern days, not only the physical properties of materials, but also the ecological concept is combined with the organic expression and is in increase. The plural expression started appearing after the 1980's and the sculptural diversity is enhancing with the addition of decorative factors or modification of geometrical form. The ex-construction and deconstructive expression show significance in some characteristics such as folding, inclination, and geometrical explosion. The free form and nonlinear expression tend to increase dramatically based on the development of structure technology as well as execution and introduce of the digital design technique.

레일과 차륜의 마모에 대한 기하학적 검토 (A geometrical review on the wear of rail and KTX wheel)

  • Before the complete construction of new high-speed line between Seoul and Pusan, KTX is going to operate on both new high-speed line between Seoul and Daegu and electrified conventional lines between Daegu and Pusan. Then, the wheels of KTX are going to operate on various rails such as KS50N and KS60 of conventional line as well as UIC60 of high-speed line. Also, conventional line will have a mixed traffic mode with various types of trains operating on it, such as Saemaul and Mugunghwa. Hence, this study reviews the wear phenomena of wheels and rails in geometrical point of view by comparing their profiles. The analyses of the results show that because UIC60 rail is designed for KTX, KS50N rail whose profile is similar to that of UIC60 will not have any impact on the shape of wheel wear. On the other hand, KS60 rail is expected to have partial wear on both the flange of KTX wheel and the gauge corner of the rail in the initial stages. However, the operation of the trains whose wheels have 1/20 conicity will cause partial sidewear on the inside of the rail and the movement of the contact point between KTX wheel and the rail toward the inside of the track. As a result, the flange wear of KTX wheel will be reduced and the formation of wear-equilibrium profile will be faster.

현대패션에 나타난 도트문양의 표면유형과 특성에 관한 연구 (Study of the Characteristics of Dot Pattern Designs in Modern Fashion)

  • This study analyzed expression types of dot patterns and derived out inherent characteristics to provide fundamental resources for advancement of high value added creative designs. As a result of the study, Firstly, the circular motive was used to form silhouettes or as a symbol of a decoration. Secondly, a simple form and color dot pattern was used to create one side, or a circular shaped accessory was used to be recognized as a construction line or a decoration line. Thirdly, textile printing is mainly used but handicraft and decorative images were used to add vitality through piece technique, embroidery, collage, cut-out, patch work, etc. Fourthly, different circular motives were integrated, partitioned and duplicated for abstract geometrical images. Fifthly, variations were added by mixing different dot patterns that are arranged regularly and irregularly in different sizes and gaps creating compounded designs with handicraft touches, different angles or on top of each other. Sixthly, hybrid images were created with rearrangement of dot patterns and by adding floral shapes, stripes or other abstract and geometrical shapes. Such various and creative attempts construct new formative beauty in fashion design and I believe that it can establish the development of unique images that satisfies the taste of today's consumers.
