  • The effects of scald bum Injury ($40-45\%$ of total body surface area), there were not inhalation and secondary infection, on the histological changes and the levels of oxygen free radical generating and scavenging enzymes have been determined in liver tissue of rat models. It was found that dermal epithelium was left out with edema of dermis layer and hydorpic swelling of hepatocytes, Burn injury increased liver weight (L.W./B.W.) and serum aspartate aminotransferase content (pThe data of this study suggest that liver damage Induced by scald burn injury leads to dysbalance of oxygen free radical generating and scavenging enzymes.

  • Because diesel generator excitation systems in the nuclear power generating station are included among safety related c1asses(and Class 1E), they have been supposed to apply in the nuclear power generating stations through equipment qualification by nuclear law and so on. So, they has been controlled and assured completely by quality assurance throughout the total development journey. This paper looks into the journey of development of diesel generator excitation systems in the nuclear power generating station.

  • This paper presents a new generating unit maintenance scheduling algorithm considering regional reserve margin and transfer capability. Existing researches focused on reliability of the overall power systems have some problems that adequate reliability criteria cannot be guaranteed in supply shortage regions. Therefore specific constraints which can treat regional reserve ratio have to be added to conventional approaches. The objective function considered in this paper is the variance (second-order momentum) of operating reserve margin to levelize reliability during a planning horizon. This paper focuses on significances of considering regional reliability criteria and an advanced hybrid optimization method based on PSO algorithm. The proposed method has been applied to IEEE reliability test system(1996) with 32-generators and a real-world large scale power system with 291 generators. The results are compared with those of the classical central maintenance scheduling approaches and conventional PSO algorithm to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm proposed in this paper.

  • In this paper, the analysis of a generating torque characteristics of 2-phase induction motor driven with the phase control method is presented. The generating torque equations which represent average torque and pulsating torque are derived from the elementary machine model. The calculating equations which can get the values of average torque and pulsating torque is expressed by the parameters of the equivalent circuit of 2-phase induction motor. According to the calculating equations, these performance characteristics are investigated under various conditions. Finally, a strategy to eliminate non-linearity and pulsating torque generated in driving 2-phase induction motor with the phase control method is presented.

  • A multilevel inverter employing a cascade transformer is proposed for a silent-discharge-tube ozone generating system. The proposed inverter consists of four full-bridge inverters and fourteen transformers which have a series-connected secondary. It can accurately control the amplitude of the output voltage; hereby, it improves a linear characteristic of the rate of ozone yielding. The power regulation characteristics and operational principle of the proposed system are explained from a practical point of view. High precision ozone generating performance of the proposed multilevel inverter is verified by computer-aided simulations and experiment results.

  • This paper proposes the design of micro energy harvesting system by using thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU), which harvests electric energy from the kinetic energy of pedestrian and drives the desired load, and applied it to the self-generating shoes. Also, we designed the buck-boost converter in discontinuous conduction mode(DCM) which functions as a resistor emulator(RE) such that converter's average input current is proportional to input voltage, and it results in transfer of maximum power to buck-boost converter according to control behavior that converter's input resistance is matched with TPU's internal resistance. Therefore, this paper confirms the validity of proposed control scheme and possibility of application for self-generating shoes, from the obtained characteristic of designed micro energy harvesting system by using a TPU and buck-boost converter in DCM.

  • Thin, Boron-doped conducting diamond films are expected to be excellent electrodes for industrial electrolysis. Boron-doped conducting diamond films were used as anode for generating ozone gas by electrolysis of acidic solution. In this work, we have studied ozone generating system using Boron-doped Diamond electrode. Electrochemical cell and ozone generating system were designed for decreasing the temperature of the system, which was elevated during the reaction. by circulation of electrolyte in the system. In order to determine the ozone generation properties of diamond electrode, experimental conditions, electrolyte concentration, temperature, flow rate and reaction time were varied diversely. As a result, we could confirm that ozone gas was generated successfully and the performance of diamond electrode was stable while PbO$_2$ electrode was disintegrated. Actually we are found that ozone amount increased by lowering the temperature of electrolyte.

  • The physical model considered here is a horizontal layer of fluid heated below and cold above with heat-generating conducting body placed at the center of the layer. The dimensionless thermal conductivities of body considered in the present study are 0.01, 1 and 150. The dimensionless temperature difference ratios considered are 0.25, 2.5 and 25. Two-dimensional solution for unsteady natural convection is obtained using an accurate and efficient Chebyshev spectral methodology for variety of Rayleigh number from $10^{3}\;to\;10^{6}.$ Multi-domain technique is used to handle square- shaped heat-generating conducting body. The results for the case of conducting body with heat generation are also compared to those without heat generation.

  • The number of buildings is increasing day by day. The next logical footstep is tackling challenges regarding scarcity of resources and sustainability, as well as shifting focus on existing building structures to renovate and retrofit. Many existing old and heritage buildings lack documentation, such as building models, despite their necessity. Technological advances allow us to use virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality on mobile platforms in various aspects of the construction industry. For these purposes, having a BIM model or high detail 3D model is not always necessary, as a simpler model can serve the purpose within many mobile platforms. This paper streamlines a framework for generating a lightweight 3D model for mobile platforms. In doing so, we use an existing structure's site survey data for the foundation data, followed by mobile VR implementation. This research conducted a pilot study on an existing building. The study provides a process of swiftly generating a lightweight 3D model of a building with relative accuracy and cost savings.
