The purpose of this study is to find out relationships among Gender Body Ideology, and clothing preferences. Subjects consisted of 75 female elementary school students, 64 female high school students, and their mothers(139) who are currently residing in Daejeon, Korea. The research was a ex-post facto relational study and the instruments for the study were GBI, genderlogy and 24 clothing stimuli for measuring clothing preferences. The reliability and validity of the measuring instruments were verified by results of judge group analysis and pre-tests. The factor analysis of GBI emerged 4 major factors in Being dimension, and 4 major factors in Doing dimension. Medium low correlations existed between the two GBI dimensions, and genderlogy was correlated specially with the Being dimension. Two GBI dimensions and genderlogy effected on preferences and Possessions of some selected design elements, however, GBI showed higher Predicting power for clothing preference.
This research is to analyze the change of pupil size in gender through the eye-tracking experiment in large complex cultural space. It is meaningful that figured out the common characteristics and differences from gender observation characteristics. Through this research, the analyzed results of the observation time measurement that appeared from the fixation and saccades pupil indicator able to define as follows. Firstly, it was suggested that there were differences between each gender and participants through extract pupil size that can be the standard examples for the case from male and female and the process of extracting the relative pupil size change on the hourly range. From the specific time range, it was possible to indicate bending characteristics and reversal phenomena of Fixation and Saccades. Second, the result was found equally from both male and female group that the rapid increment of pupil size at initial time range immediately after the eye-tracking experiment has been initiated. This can be considered to actively accepting the stress given by the subject through the extended pupil after 10 seconds that compare to indicated very low pupil size between 0 to 10 seconds after starting the experiment. Third, meanwhile 0 to 10 seconds after initial observation are the time of sudden change in the pupil size, therefore these time range data cannot be regarded as observed in the appropriate condition. Thus, it able to define the highest times of emotional processing for male as 10 to 80 seconds, and for female as 10 to 70 seconds. There was no definition of the time range data for observation experiment from previous research, this data can be considered to stable time to observation through the pupil extension. Therefore, it is possible to set suitable time of observation experiment to be around 70 to 80 seconds exclude initial experiment time.

The purpose of this research is to compare the people’s attitude toward 3-D body scanning by their gender and age in order to provide the application of 3-D body scanning data for new services or products. This study collected questionnaire data from 442 Korean females and 258 Korean males who participated in the 3-D body scanning. The result of this study were as follows: 1. Most people had good feelings for 3-D body scanning. Male respondents were more dissatisfied than female, and teenagers had higher dissatisfaction rate than other age groups for the measurement garment. 2. 80.5% of all respondents had the intention for re-measurement of 3-D body scanning. Male respondents and teenagers had low intention for re-measurement. 3. For the use of 3-D body scanning data, 79.6% said "yes" for making avatar, and 88.3% agreed with the custom made clothes. There was no difference between gender and age for this question. The results of the study will demonstrate how clothing retailers and marketers can use the 3-D body scanning data.

There is a common misbelief that female gamers prefers simple cute easy games so that they are incompetent if higher skill level is required or disqualified to be a winning party member in MMORPG. This pink game theories are the results of video game analysis done in US and Europe way before online games and mobile games become popular thus. there are many evidences that such misconceptions do not hold anymore. However, researches on gender game culture and gender preferences have not been seriously conducted since 2007 in Korea. Thus, in this paper, we surveyed 88 male and 151 female gamers from their late teens to 30s and found a gap between behavior and perception due to serious gender stereotypes. Gender differences are still found in several areas, but the degree of differences were weakened or in different direction from 2007. The game design to attract female gamers should understand such gender gaming culture and gender difference.
Ancient Greece was a patriarchal society that distinguished gender roles between men and women. Although their costumes were composed of simple rectangular fabric without any technical complications in itself, the Greeks did try to express gender differences in their clothing. The final look of the Greek costume was dependent on the way the cloth draped onto its wearer as well as the wearer's identity. Greeks costume could just be seen as a rectangular fabric when it was not draped on a person's body. The purpose of this study is to examine how the gender differences were expressed in the ancient Greek drapery costume, which was made by using a completely different technical process, compared with the modern tailored costume. There are four elements of the costume that give the costume its formative shape, which are the wearer's body, the rectangular fabric (material as the first formative costume), the way the fabric is draped, and the final appearance as the second formative costume (the relationship between the wearer's body and the costume) and this study analyzes these elements individually. It is intended to analyze the gender characteristics and how each element appears in a different way from the perspective of Structuralism, an analytical method that considers a phenomenon as a total sum of the elements. Literature research was conducted and representative sculpture, painting and pottery, were used between the Archaic Period (B.C. 800~500) and the Classical Period (B.C. 500~323). The results show that the gender differences appear in each formative element of costume: First, the body was distinguished by the ancient Greek custom. The man's nudity was accepted while the woman's body was concealed. Second, in regards to the first formative costume, which was the rectangular fabric, men's were made with thick high quality wool because their involvement in outdoor activities meant that they needed clothes to stay warm, while the women wore clothes made of thin wool or hemp cloth, because their most of their activities were at home. Third, the way to drape the fabric shows the gender differences by changing the length of the clothing and its design ; men's short khiton was practical for big movement and at the same time the clothing exposed the man's body. The woman's doric khiton diversified its decoration by the size of the apotigma and by using the belt. Finally the second formative costume reflected the Greeks' social distinction between a man's body and a woman's body. The man's costume naturally exposed the man's body. On the other hand, the woman's long costume has a variety of shapes on the ground, that concealed her lower body, while the ornamental function was more accentuated than the man's costume. The gender differences expressed in Greek costume fundamentally reflected the point of view of the male and female body and their social roles in society.
Gendered innovations is a term used by policy makers and academics to refer the process of creating better research and development (R&D) for both men and women. In this paper, we analyze the literatures in image and speech signal processing that can be used in ICT, examine the importance of gendered innovations through case study. Therefore the latest domestic and foreign literature related to image and speech signal processing based on gender research is searched and a total of 9 papers are selected. In terms of gender analysis, research subjects, research environment, and research design are examined separately. Especially, through the case analysis of algorithms of the elderly voice signal processing, machine learning, machine translation technology, and facial gender recognition technology, we found that there is gender bias in existing algorithms, and which leads to gender analysis is required. We also propose a gendered innovations method integrating sex and gender analysis in algorithm development. Gendered innovations in ICT can contribute to the creation of new markets by developing products and services that reflect the needs of both men and women.

As the online industry is vitalized by the fashion market, there is a tendency to believe that the recruitment of manpower in the online distribution field is increasing. Thus, this study attempts to analyze the job types and job functions for recruitment in the fashion industry based on job search sites and based on this, suggest an educational direction within the department of fashion design. First, when examining the size (number of employees) of fashion companies that posted jobs, the fashion companies with 30 or fewer employees accounted for 60.7% of the postings, and the location of the fashion companies was most commonly in Seoul with 144 companies located in Gangnam (Seocho-gu, Gangnam-gu). As for the recruitment conditions of the fashion companies, "academic level-irrelevant" was the highest with 42.6%, and in terms of gender and age, 59.3% of the cases were marked as "gender and/or age-irrelevant". Examining the types of jobs for recruitment in the fashion industry, fashion designers were the most popular at 52.6%, followed by on and off-line companies' MD, VMD, and stylist in that order. In the results of examining job function change, it is thought that the fashion design department should have basic educationon in that respect.

With the advent of computers and network, the Internet(World Wide Web) is becoming more prevalent than ever before. The ICT and the policy of the development of information technology are also applied to the elementary school environment. In the elementary school field, we can easily find that children have different web-site preferences based on gender. There is a lot of research about adult gender issues for the purpose of customer analysis to increase business profits. However, there is little research about the gender factor in web-based instruction or educational web sites. Elementary school children are beginning to experience the Internet. In this study, we consider the analysis of the use and perception of the Internet based on gender differences, and discuss concrete guidelines in regards to elementary school pupil and therefore create Web Based Instruction or Educational Web Contents.

The purposes of this study were 1) to find out any significant relationships among genderlogy, gender identity of clothing, and attitudes toward unisex clothing, 2) to investi- gate differences in genderlogy, gender identity of clothing, and attitudes toward unisex clothing between female and male college students, 3) to understand the structual dimension of genderlogy. The theory of this study was Bem's androgyny sex role theory which suggested an individual's masculine and feminine sex role lied on separate lines rather than on a linear line. The research design was an ex post facto survey and the subjects were 222 female college students and 179 male students in Taejeon, Chungnam and Chungbuk province. Using the SPSS program, factor analysis, 1-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and plot were calculated for statistical analysis. The findings of this study were summarized as follows: 1) The 1.test showed significant differences in genderloy, gender identity of clothing, attitudes toward unisex clothing between female and male college students. 2) There were significant relationship among genderlogy, gender identity of clothing, attitudes toward unisex clothing. 3) The moi or dimensions of genderlogy were found to be traditional sex role and equal sex roles. There were only moderate negative relationship between traditional and equal sex roles and these two dimensions affected differently on the gender identity of clothing, as well as the attitudes toward unisex clothing, therefore traditional sex roles and equal sex roles seemed to lie on separate lines, and the androgyny sex role theory was supported.

The objective in the part H of this study was to investigate the effects of materials, sleeves, trimming, and perceivers gender on impression formation. Stimuli consisted of 13 color photographs of a female model wearing a wedding dress which were manipulated according to clothing cues. A semantic differential sale of 4 dimensions was used. These were attractiveness, neatness, femininity, and prettiness. Samples were 312 males and females. For the effect of sleeves, there were significant main effects in attractiveness, femininity, neatness, and prettiness. Three-quarters lace ruffled sleeves increased the perception of positive attractiveness, femininity, and prettiness. Flounced sleeves had a positive effect on the perception of neatness. Long-tight sleeves had a negative effect on the perception of attractiveness, femininity, and prettiness. Sleeveless dresses increased the perception of negative neatness. There was an interaction effect between sleeves and the perceivers gender on neatness. For the onぉ of material, there were significant main effects in neatness, femininity, and prettiness. Solid cloth had a positive effect on the perception of neatness and negatively on prettiness. The combination of lace and solid cloth increased the perception of positive femininity and prettiness. lace had a negative effect on the perception of neatness. Satin increased the perception of negative femininity. There was an interaction effect between material and perceivers gender on prettiness. The main effect of trimmings was its effect on prettiness. Ribbons increased the perception of positive prettiness. Not having any trimmings had a negative effect on the perception of prettiness. There was an interaction effect between timings and the perceivers gender on neatness. The results of this study confirm that image perception of wedding dresses becomes different according to the materials, details, and perceiver's gender.
