Design of Transdermal Delivery System Using New Film-Forming Agents (신규 필름형성제를 이용한 경피흡수제제의 설계)

  • In order to develop a film-forming transdermal drug delivery system, polyurethane (PU) based on poly(ethylene glycol) and poly(tetramethylene oxide) was synthesized and characterized. The synthesized PU was blended with Gantrez ES 225 (GT) to improve the adhesion property of film-forming agent to the skin. When film-forming gel formulation containing 3% ketoprofen (KP) was applied, transparent thin film was obtained within 5 minutes and adhered to the skin for 8 hours. In vitro percutaneous absortion studies were performed to determine the rate of ketoprofen absorption through guinea pig skin. A prominent effect of limonene on the skin permeability of ketoprofen was observed among the various skin permeation enhancers investigated. Considering mechanica properties of film and skin permeability of ketoprofen, 2% of limonene was optimal content in the film forming transdermal formulation.

한국산 도꼬마리 추출물의 항균효과 및 분리 정제

  • Antimicrobial activity of various extracts of Xanthium strumarium L. was tested against 25 strains of bacteria, yeast and fungus. The crude ethylacetate extract exhibited strong growth inhibition to the tested strains with the exception of partial Gram-negative bacteria. The property of antimicrobial compound was very stable under heat treatment at $120^{\circ}C$, but it was unstable in acid (pH 3.0) and alkali (pH 10.0) treatment. The antimicrobial compounds were purified by boiling water extraction, ethylacetate extraction, charcoal column chromatography, silica gel column chro- matography and reverse phase HPLC. The purified compound A and B were detected in a single peak (each above 98% purity) through the HPLC analysis. The compound A and B showed a strong growth inhibition against Gram-negative and positive bacteria in the agar diffusion method. When tested by the FDA method using the esterase, compound A mainly inhibited the growth of bacteria and compound B showed the growth inhibition of both bacteria and yeasts.

  • $(Pb_{1-x}Sr_x)TiO_3$ $(0.6{\leq}x{\leq}0.8)$ thin films were prepared by the MOD method for tunable microwave device application and their characteristics were investigated as a function of Sr content(x) and applied field. Thin films showed a homogeneous microstructure and the tetragonality(c/a) was slightly decreased with increasing Sr content. With increasing Sr content, Curie temperature of the thin films showed a decreasing tendency. For the PST thin films, the dielectric constant at room temperature, Tc, and $tan{\delta}$ were 750~1900, $-70^{\circ}{\sim}-30^{\circ}C$ and 0.025~0.04, respectively.

  • Using a thermally-crosslinkable organosiloxane-based organic-inorganic hybrid material, solution processable gate dielectric layer for organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) have been fabricated. The hybrid dielectrics are synthesized by the sol-gel process, followed by the heat-treatment at $190{\bullet}\;.{\bullet}$ To investigate the electrical property of hybrid dielectric, leakage current behavior and capacitance were measured. To fabricate coplanar-type OTFTs, Au/Cr electrode was deposited onto the heavily doped silicon substrate with the organic-inorganic hybrid dielectric layer and then ${\alpha},{\omega}-dihexylquaterthiophene$ was drop-cast between source and drain electrical performance of the fabricated transistor.

  • The experiments of suspension hydration were performed in the mixtures of slag and water or NaOH solutions which were made up with a liquid/solid ratio of 10. The liquid phase of the suspension was chemically analysed and discussed. When slag was in contact with water, CaO component was released from slag grains into the solution. The amounts of $SiO_2$ and $Al_2O_3$ liberated in the solution were very low as compared with CaO, for the impermeable coating of $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$-rich gel was formed on the surface of slag grains. The hydration was considered to be inhibited by this impermeable coating. The weak hydraulic property of slag was based on slowly released CaO and dissolved Na, K components which increased pH in the solution.

Dissolution of Crystal Forms of Cefotaxime Sodium (세포탁심나트륨의 결정형의 용출)

  • Three polymorphic modifications and two pseudopolymorphic modifications of cefotaxime sodium were obtained by crystallization from different organic solvents. The isolated crystal forms were characterized by UV spectrophotometry, DSC, TGA and X-ray crystallography. Crystal forms of cefotaxime sodium were also compared by dissolution rate. The dissolution rate of form 1 was the highest, followed by form 2, form 4, form 6, form 5 and form 3. Among these polymorphic modifications the dissolution rate of form 3 and form 5 was much slower than that of cefotaxime sodium on the market. All forms showed no change after 2-month storage test in the silica gel desiccator. But after the storage of 2-month at 95% relative humidity condition, all forms were deliquesced by hygroscopic property except form 1 that showed the highest dissolution rate. At 52% relative humidity condition, form 1, form 2 and form 6 had no evidence of phase transformation, but form 3, form 4 and form 5 were also deliquesced.

  • Monodisperse, micron-sized, hybrid particles having a core-shell structure were prepared by coating the surface of poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA) microspheres with silica and by copolymerizing acrylamide (AAm) to supply the hydrogen bonding effect by means of the amide groups. Tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) was then slowly dropped onto the medium under certain conditions. Because of the hydrogen bonding between the amide of the PMMA particles and the hydroxyl group of the hydrolyzed silanol, a silica shell was generated on the PMMA core particles. The morphology of the hybrid particles was investigated with transmission (TEM) and scanning (SEM) electron microscopy as a function of the medium conditions and the amount of TEOS. Improved thermal properties were observed by TGA analysis.

Changes in Quality of Sausage Processed with Shrink Discharge during Process of Smoke Meat Products (훈제품 제조시 유출되는 Shrink를 이용하여 제조한 소시지의 품질 변화)

  • This study was carried out to use the shrink discharged during process of smoke meat products. Qualities of sausage were grasped, and investigated storage properties during five weeks. The gel strength of pork sausage were 1,461~1,847g.cm, this of chicken sausage were 865~1,733g.cm. The cooking yield of sausage were 81~ 85% in general, contents of salt were 2.5~2.9%. The L value(lightness) of pork sausage were 44.8~47.2, those of chicken sausage were 43.1~48.0, and the L value of the interior was higher than the surface. The remainder contents of nitrite were 3.1~9.4ppm, the sorbic acid contents of all sausage were 0.8g/kg. The amino acid contents of chicken sausage were higher than those of pork sausage. The pH of sausage not changed uniformly during storage. The TBA value and the VBN contents were a slight tendency to increase during storage. The total plate counts of all sausage maintained 104 less than during storage.

  • In this study, we formed the piezoelectric film and estimated its characteristics for sensor application. The $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3(PZT)$ was chosen as piezoelectric material and we used Sol-Gel method to form film. To increase film thickness, the multiple coatings were performed, and the good characteristics obtained in thick film compared to thin film. Because PZT film showed fine etching property as well as other good characteristics, it was thought that it was appropriate material for sensor fabrication.

  • Pitchstone reacted with CaO in hot water(9$0^{\circ}C$) and increased its sedimentary volume by forming Ca(OH)2 and calcium silicate hydrates. ALC was prepared from gel at 9$0^{\circ}C$ and subsequently autoclaved at 18$0^{\circ}C$ by using the property of swelling and the physical properties of ALC was investigated with experimental conditions. When the ratio of pitchstone/CaO was 2 (CaO/SiO2 mol ratio=0.81), bulk density, modulus of rupture and thermal conductivity of the ALC were 0.75g/㎤, 73kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 0.150 kcal/m.hr.$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline phase of it was mainly tobermorite. Therefore ALC was turned out to be much lightweighted and good thermal insulation.
