In this research, the effect of serious game on the task performance of adolescents with intellectual disabilities was investigated. A total of 31 students participated in a pre-post-with-control-group-design study. Results indicate that among the high-, moderate-, and low- ability students, the moderate-ability students gained the most from the game, in both speed and accuracy. From the results we can understand that game-based training has the most effect on the moderate level students. Also, the findings of this study show that serious games can be effective training tools for this population.
Grouping of characters in a 3D game can be very effective to play. An 3D game characters grouping method is proposed using Object Feature vector depending on their characteristics. In the case of NMT, the constitution of pattern is regular and directive. But MT is not. Such characteristic is extracted using Gabor Filter, then character is grouped. Through experiment, we obtain accuracy of more than 80% for grouping method using each feature. Thus, using this property, characters could be grouped effectively and it draws the game more speed and strategic actions as a result.

The growth speed of the industry of national smart phone game service has become faster and the its economical and cultural effect has increased steadily these days. The DB design for data perpetuation in C/S MMO which has accumulated data a lot and many simultaneous plays like smart phone games is very important. This paper, mindful of the operation and the scalability suitable for android OS, by utilizing RDBMS, enabling very short, many transactions, their complexity, and a large amount of game data process, suggests fully-qualified MMORPG game DB design techniques widely availabe for more than online game industries.
Spatial partitioning trees are needed for processing collision detections efficiently. In order to select split planes for spatial partitioning trees, the tree balance and the number of polygons overlapped with the split plane should be considered. In this paper, the heuristic algorithm controlling weight values of tree build criteria is proposed for spatial partitioning trees of 3D games. As the weight values are changed, tree build time, T-junction elimination time which can cause visual artifacts in splitting polygons overlapped with the split plane, rendering speed (frame per second: FPS) according to tree balance are analysed under 3D game simulations.
This study focused on the games that were in the spotlight during the One Source Multi-use era, analyzing game based movies and the games. Through this, we wanted to examine the phenomena, changes, and in-depth meanings of the genre and grammar. Using Vogler's "12 Stages of the Hero Journey" and Greimas's "Model actantie" the three works of Need for Speed, Assassin Creed and Warcraft were cross-analyzed. Through this analysis, we looked at the structure of the discourse and identified the significant messages brought by the change in text.

This paper describes the development of a brickwork game with three-dimensional computer graphics as one of web-based game contents. Client user using web can access and run lava applet program with the independence of hardware system. It consists of graphic user interface module, initial space generation module, event handler module, player control module, and thread control module. It uses 3-D array data structure for the 3-D graphic objects that are located in three-dimensional space for high-speed object searching and sorting. It enhances to compare with predetermined construction in three-dimensional space. We can use the developed racing game to inform game users of information for an advertisement like tourism information, and can apply the proposed 3-D drawing technology to 3-D game graphic engine core.
In this study, motion simulation of Walk-through was evaluated with HMD(Head Mounted Display). More Specifically, we examined the changes of the degree of object density placed around virtual space on psychological moving distance, moving speed, and moving time. The results were as follows. First, the difference between the experimental conditions(low density, Medium density, High density) was significant. Second, as the density of the surrounding objects increased, the average point of moving time, moving speed, and moving distance rose compared to the basic conditions. Third, it was found that the surrounding objects improved the sense of time, speed and distance in motion simulation in virtual space.

With increasing numbers of vehicles on restricted roads, It happens that we have much wasted time and decreased average car speed. This paper proposes a new concept of coordinating green time which controls 10 traffic intersection systems. For instance, if we have a baseball game at 8 pm today, traffic volume toward the baseball game at 8 pm today, franc volume toward the baseball game will be increased 1 hour or 1 hour and 30 minutes before the baseball game. At that time we can not predict optimal green time Even though there have smart electro-sensitive traffic light system. Therefore, in this paper to improve average vehicle speed and reduce average vehicle waiting time, we created optimal green time using fuzzy rules md neural network as a preprocessing. Also, we developed an Intelligent PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) for real time traffic forecasting as a postprocesing about unexpectable conditions. Computer simulation results proved reducing average vehicle waiting time which proposed coordinating green time better than electro-sensitive franc light system does not consider coordinating green time.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a three dimensional balance trainer in combination with a video-game system and visual feedback on balance recovery and gait function in subacute stroke patients. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Methods: Twenty-three subacute stroke patients were assigned to either an experimental (n=12) or a control group (n=11) using a random permuted block design and sealed envelopes. The experimental group received additional 3-dimensional balance training combined with visual feedback and a game program for 30 min/day, 5 days/week for 4 weeks. Both groups received 30-min of conservative physical therapy sessions based on neurodevelopmental therapy. Before and after the 20 sessions, walking abilities were evaluated by the the GaitRite system and balances were evaluated using the Berg Balance Scale (BBS). The Trunk Impairment Scale (TIS) was used to assess trunk muscle performances. Results: After the 4-week intervention, BBS and TIS scores were significantly increased in both groups (p<0.05), and increases in these scores were significantly greater in the experimental group (p<0.05). After the 4-week intervention, gait speed and cadence were significantly increased in both groups (p<0.05), and as was observed for BBS and TIS scores, changes of gait speed and cadence were significantly greater in the experimental group (p<0.05). Conclusions: The study shows that the 3-dimensional balance trainer combined with visual biofeedback and a video-game system provides a therapeutic means for improving balance and gait ability in subacute stroke patients.
The quantitave increase and qualitative development in the game industry leads to bitter competition and makes game companies struggle to find better ways promoting their own games. The game trailer is one of the critical ways to publicize diverse games by showing visual images directly. There are three reasons why the game trailer comes into the spotlight these days; the rapid growth of the Internet speed handling the large size of files, the remarkable development of visual image quality just like digital movies, and the advent of video websites such as You Tube that shows huge amount of videos regardless of the type and size. However, there are not enough amount of research on the game trailer because using game trailers as the marketing source is still at an early stage. Therefore, this research focuses on providing characteristics of game trailers that are available for practical market analysis. First, this research shows that game trailers can be divided by the category of display, style, and contents type. Second, this research provides the component parts of game trailers that are divided into contents factors such as characters, backgrounds, events and promotional factors such as title, production company name, distribution company name. Third, this research explores research frames that would be needed to analyze marketing strategies, effects of game trailers, production pipelines and so on. These categorizations would be useful for producing game trailers efficiently and utilizing them effectively.
