SOI를 이용한 하드 디스크 드라이브용 정전형 트랙 추적 마이크로 액추에이터의 제작 (Fabrication of Electrostatic Track-Following Microactuator for Hard Disk Drive Using SOI)

  • 0.3 g의 하드디스크 드라이브에 사용될 수 있는 마그네틱 헤드를 장착할 수 있는 트랙 추적용 마이크로 액추에이터를 제작하였다. 이 액추에이터는 정전방식을 적용하였으며 2${\mu}m$ 두께의 열산화막과 20${\mu}m$ 두께의 실리콘 막이 직접접합된 SOI 웨이퍼를 이용하여 단지 3장의 마스크만을 사용하여 제작하였다. 고유진동수는 18.5 kHz이고 15 V DC와 15 V AC 전압이 동시에 가해진 상황에서 그 변위가 1.4 ${\mu}m$이였고 이때 30 V일 때 50 N의 정전력을 나타내었다. 또한 2.21 kHz의 서보 주파수 대역에서 이득여유가 7.51 dB이고 위상여유가 50.98$^{\circ}$이였다. 따라서 이 트랙추적 마이크로 액추에이터는 10 Gb/in$^2$의 기록밀도를 요구하는 하드디스크 드라이브에 충분히 이용될 수 있을 것이다.

선형 PID 제어기 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Linear PID Controller)

  • 본 논문은 선형 PID 제어기의 설계 방법에 대해서 설명하였고, 향후 설계 방법에 대해서 제안 하였다. 첫 번째 PID 설계 방법으로는 위상여유와 이득여유를 보장하는 방법이다. 이 방법은 주파수 영역에서 설계하는 것으로 안정도를 보장한다. 두 번째 방법은 내부 모델 제어 방법이다. 이 방법은 제어 모델에 대한 내부 모델을 동정 후 내부 모델의 파라미터를 이용하여 PID 제어기를 설계하는 것이다. 따라서 이 방법은 외란에 강한 특성을 갖고 있다. 마지막으로 제안하는 것은 Cascade-smith-Predictor 제어기 이다. 이방 법의 Cascade 제어기와 smith-Predictor의 구조를 결합한 것으로 강인제어와 최적제어 두 가지 장점을 갖는 제어기 구조이다. 이 방법은 최적 제어기 설계 방법으로 성능 평가지수를 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 이와 같은 PID 제어기 설계 방법은 비선형 방법의 기초가 되며, 지속적인 연구가 수행되고 있다.

2급 치근분지부 병소에서의 생분해성 차폐막의 효과 (Treatment of Class II Furcation Involvements in Humans with Bioabsorbable Guided Tissue Regeneration Barriers)

  • The purpose of this 6-months study was to compare the clinical and radiographic outcomes following guided tissue regeneration treating human mandibular Class II furcation defects with a bioabsorbable BioMesh barrier(test treatment) or a nonabsorbable ePTFE barrier(control treatment). Fourteen defects in 14 patients(mean age 44 years) were treated with BioMesh barriers and ten defects in 10 patients(mean age 48 years) with ePTFE barriers. After initial therapy, a GTR procedure was done. Following flap elevation, root planing, and removal of granulation tissue, each device was adjusted to cover the furcation defect. The flaps were repositioned and sutured to complete coverage of the barriers. A second surgical procedure was performed at control sites after 4 to 6 weeks to remove the nonresorbable barrier. Radiographic and clinical examinations(plaque index, gingival index, tooth mobility, gingival margin position, pocket depth, clinical attachment level) were carried out under standardized conditions immediately before and 6 months after surgery. Furthermore, digital subtraction radiography was carried out. All areas healed uneventfully. Surgical treatment resulted in clinically and statistically equivalent changes when comparisons were made between test and control treatments. Changes in plaque index were 0.7 for test and 0.4 for control treatments; changes in gingival index were 0.9 and 0.5. In both group gingival margin position and pocket depth reduction was 1.0mm and 3.0mm; clinical attachment level gain was 1.9mm. There were no changes in tooth mobility and the bone in radiographic evaluation. No significant(p${\leq }$0.05) difference between the two membranes could be detected with regard to plaque index, gingival index, gingival margin position, pocket depth, and clinical attachment level. In conclusion, a bioabsorbable BioMesh membrane is effective in human mandibular Class II furcation defects and a longer period study is needed to fully evaluate the outcomes.

10Gbit/s 광수신기용 AlGaAs/GaAs HBT IC 칩 셋 ((AlGaAs/GaAs HBT IC Chipset for 10Gbit/s Optical Receiver))

  • 10Gbit/s 광수신기에 사용되는 전치증폭기, 리미팅증폭기, 그리고 판별회로 IC 등을 AlGaAs/GaAs HBT 기술을 이용하여 설계 제작하였다. 사용한 HBT는 차단주파수 55GHz, 최대 공진 주파수 45GHz 의 특성을 지닌다. 제작된 전치증폭기 와 PIN 광검출기를 이용해 광수신기 front-end를 구성하였는데, 측정된 이득은 46dBΩ, 3dB 대역폭은 12.3GHz 의 특성을 보였다. 리미팅증폭기는 소신호 이득 27dB, 3dB 대역폭 10.6GHz 특성을 보였으며, 입력 신호 전압 20mVp-p 이상에서 리미팅 동작이 이루어져 900mVp-p 신호를 출력하였다. 판별회로는 10Gbit/s에서 위상마진 300°, 입력 전압 수신감도 47mVp-p의 특성을 보였다.

Green-Power 스위치와 DT-CMOS Error Amplifier를 이용한 DC-DC Converter 설계 (The Design of DC-DC Converter with Green-Power Switch and DT-CMOS Error Amplifier)

  • 본 논문에서는 DT-CMOS(Dynamic Threshold voltage CMOS) 스위칭 소자와 DTMOS Error Amplifier를 사용한 고 효율 전원 제어 장치(PMIC)를 제안하였다. 높은 출력 전류에서 고 전력 효율을 얻기 위하여 PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) 제어 방식을 사용하여 PMIC를 구현하였으며, 낮은 온 저항을 갖는 DT-CMOS를 설계하여 도통 손실을 감소시켰다. 벅 컨버터(Buck converter) 제어 회로는 PWM 제어회로로 되어 있으며, 삼각파 발생기, 밴드갭 기준 전압 회로, DT-CMOS 오차 증폭기, 비교기가 하나의 블록으로 구성되어 있다. 제안된 DT-CMOS 오차증폭기는 72dB DC gain과 83.5위상 여유를 갖도록 설계하였다. DTMOS를 사용한 오차증폭기는 CMOS를 사용한 오차증폭기 보다 약 30%정도 파워 소비 감소를 보였다. Voltage-mode PWM 제어 회로와 낮은 온 저항을 스위칭 소자로 사용하여 구현한 DC-DC converter는 100mA 출력 전류에서 95%의 효율을 구현하였으며, 1mA이하의 대기모드에서도 높은 효율을 구현하기 위하여 LDO를 설계하였다.

Sensitivity Analysis of Core Neutronic Parameters in Electron Accelerator-driven Subcritical Advanced Liquid Metal Reactor

  • Calculation of the core neutronic parameters is one of the key components in all nuclear reactors. In this research, the energy spectrum and spatial distribution of the neutron flux in a uranium target have been calculated. In addition, sensitivity of the core neutronic parameters in accelerator-driven subcritical advanced liquid metal reactors, such as electron beam energy ($E_e$) and source multiplication coefficient ($k_s$), has been investigated. A Monte Carlo code (MCNPX_2.6) has been used to calculate neutronic parameters such as effective multiplication coefficient ($k_{eff}$), net neutron multiplication (M), neutron yield ($Y_{n/e}$), energy constant gain ($G_0$), energy gain (G), importance of neutron source (${\varphi}^*$), axial and radial distributions of neutron flux, and power peaking factor ($P_{max}/P_{ave}$) in two axial and radial directions of the reactor core for four fuel loading patterns. According to the results, safety margin and accelerator current ($I_e$) have been decreased in the highest case of $k_s$, but G and ${\varphi}^*$ have increased by 88.9% and 21.6%, respectively. In addition, for LP1 loading pattern, with increasing $E_e$ from 100 MeV up to 1 GeV, $Y_{n/e}$ and G improved by 91.09% and 10.21%, and $I_e$ and $P_{acc}$ decreased by 91.05% and 10.57%, respectively. The results indicate that placement of the Np-Pu assemblies on the periphery allows for a consistent $k_{eff}$ because the Np-Pu assemblies experience less burn-up.

DIDF를 적용한 PID 제어기의 파라미터 설정법 - 불감시간을 가지는 불안정한 시스템의 경우 (Tuning PID Controllers for Unstable Systems with Dead Time based on Dual-Input Describing Function(DIDF) Method)

  • Though various techniques have been studied as a way of adjusting parameters of PID controllers, no perfect method of determining parameters is available to date. Especially the deign of PID controller for unstable processes with dead time(UPWDT) is even more difficult due to various reasons. Generally the existing design procedures for UPWDT involve deriving formulas to meet gain and phase margin specifications, or using inner loop to stabilize UPWDT before applying PID controller. In this paper, the dual-input describing function(DIDF) method is proposed, by which the performance and robustness of the closed-loop system can be improved. The method is based on moving the critical point (-1+j0) of Nyquist stability to a new position arbitrarily selected on the complex plane. This can be done by determining appropriate coefficients of the DIDF. As a result, we can easily determine parameters of PID-type controller by using existing conventional tuning methods for stable or unstable systems. Simulation results are included to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Vendor-Managed Inventory in Three Stage Supply Chain

  • Purpose - Many researchers analyze VMI as a supply chain collaboration program to reveal its true value. Most of them focus on the dyadic relationship in two stage supply chain systems. This study examines the effect of VMI when it is applied to the different parts of three stage supply chain systems. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on three stage supply chain, this study compares three different systems including full VMI, partial VMI, and non-VMI by using mathematical models. The performances of three systems are compared with the numerical examples of the proposed supply chain models. Results - The numerical examples reveal that full VMI where the manufacturer controls inventories at all stages outperforms any other systems in terms of the system profit and enables all individual members to gain greater profits than non-VMI. Meanwhile, under partial VMI where VMI is implemented between the wholesaler and retailer, only these two members improve their performances and the manufacturer who does not belong to VMI makes less profit than even under non-VMI. This study also examines the impact of market size and profit margin on the system performance. Conclusions - The result of this study supports the common belief that VMI secures the best result when it is applied to the entire supply chain system. The additional findings from the numerical analysis are discussed.

A Development of Satellite Communication Link Analysis Tool

  • In a Satellite communication system, a link budget analysis is the detailed investigation of signal gains and losses moving through a channel from a sender to receiver. It inspects the fading of passed on data signal waves due to the process of spreading or propagation, including transmitter and receiver antenna gains, feeder cables, and related losses. The extent of the proposed tool is to make an effective, efficient, and user-friendly approach to calculate link budget analysis. It is also related to the satellite communication correlation framework by building up a graphical interface link analysis tool utilizing STK® software with the interface of C# programming. It provides better kinds of graphical display techniques, exporting and importing data files, printing link information, access data, azimuth-elevation-range (AER), and simulation is also possible at once. The components of the link budget analysis tool include transmitter gain, effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP), free space loss, propagation loss, frequency Doppler shift, flux density, link margin, elevation plot, etc. This tool can be useful for amateur users (e.g., CubeSat developers in the universities) or nanosat developers who may not know about the RF communication system of the satellite and the orbital mechanics (e.g., orbit propagators) principle used in the satellite link analysis.

The suture bridge transosseous equivalent technique for Bony Bankart lesion

  • In order to improve static stability and healing of reattached labrum, we combined the advantages of suture bridge and transosseous technique. Using the conventional 3 portal for anterior instability, check stability of bony Bankart and preparation of glenoid bed in 3 way including removal, reshaping or mobilization of bony fragment. Two anchors were inserted to the superior and inferior portion and medial edge of bony Bankart lesion. It usually corresponded to the area of IGHL. Medial mattress sutures were applied around IGHL complex to get enough depth of glenoid coverage using suture hook. Make 3.5mm pushlock anchor hole to the articular edge of glenoid cartilage. Proximal suture bridge was applied at first and then distal suture bridge was inserted to mobilize the labrum in proximal direction. These construction can provide more stable labral repair with wide contact and compression in case of deficient bony stability. It not only avoids technical disadvantage of point contact with anchor fixation, but also decreasing gap formation through cross compression of labrum that couldn't gain even with the transosseous fixation which affords linear compression effect. Additional bony stability could be gained if the the bony fragment was mobilized to the glenoid margin with potential healing bed or reshaped for the good contact with reattached labrum.
