Effect of Subthreshold Slope on the Voltage Gain of Enhancement Mode Thin Film Transistors Fabricated Using Amorphous SiInZnO

  • High-performance full swing logic inverters were fabricated using amorphous 1 wt% Si doped indium-zinc-oxide (a-SIZO) thin films with different channel layer thicknesses. In the inverter configuration, the threshold voltage was adjusted by varying the thickness of the channel layer. The depletion mode (D-mode) device used a TFT with a channel layer thickness of 60 nm as it exhibited the most negative threshold voltage (-1.67 V). Inverters using enhancement mode (E-mode) devices were fabricated using TFTs with channel layer thicknesses of 20 or 40 nm with excellent subthreshold slope (S.S). Both the inverters exhibited high voltage gain values of 30.74 and 28.56, respectively at $V_{DD}=15V$. It was confirmed that the voltage gain can be improved by increasing the S.S value.

  • Fiber dispersion을 이용한 소신호 응답특성으로부터 1.55㎛ strained MQW DFB 레이저의 linewidth enhancement factor α 및 fiber 분산을 측정하였다. 측정된 fiber 분산값은 16.766∼16.786ps/nm/km로 일반적인 단일모드 fiber의 분산값을 잘 나타내었다. 레이저의 실제 동작조건에서 α의 변화를 관찰하기 위하여 광출력의 변화에 따른 α의 변화를 측정하였는데 광출력 증가에 따라 α값도 선형적으로 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 이 결과로부터 아직까지의 어떤 측정보다도 정확히 non-linear gain에 의한 α의 변화를 설명할 수 있었다.

An Enhanced Clarity of Husky Voice by Dissonant Frequency Filtering

  • There have been numerous studies on the enhancement of noisy speech signal. In this paper, we propose a new speech enhancement method, that is, a filtering of a dissonant frequency combined with noise suppression algorithm. The simulation results indicate that the proposed method provides a significant gain in voice clarity. Therefore if the proposed enhancement scheme is used as a pre-filter, the perceptual clarity of husky voice is greatly enhanced.

  • 고성능 VLSI 아날로그 정보처리시스템(AIPS)에서 고 이득 Op-Amp는 기본적 정보처리소자이다. 증폭기는 시스템 내 피드백루프에 사용시 안정도와 정확도를 얻기 위하여 고 이득이 요구된다. 1단의 증폭으로 이득이 충분하지 않을 경우 이득 부스팅 또는 추가적인 이득단이 필요하다. 본 논문에서 부 저항소자를 사용할 경우 이득이 개선되며 1단으로 고 이득을 손쉽게 얻을 수 있음을 보였다. 기존의 방법에 비교하여 본 연구에 제안된 방법은 전 출력 스윙, 적은 회로면적과 전력소비, 그리고 여러 구조의 증폭기에 적용가능 하다는 잇점을 지니고 있다. 부 저항소자는 Op-Amp에 사용될 경우 (+)와 (-) 차동출력 사이에 설치되어 증폭기 출력저항을 상쇄한다. 부 저항소자를 교차 연결된 CMOS 인버터의 형태로 구현할 경우 간단한 구조로서 40 dB 보다 더 큰 이득개선을 손쉽게 얻을 수 있음을 HSPICE 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하였다.

  • The studies had been conducted to evaluate the grain processing effects for ruminants on starch digestion, body weight gain and feed efficiency since 1970. This research deals with experimental results on chemical structure, gelatinization, microbial starch digestion in rumen, intestinal starch digestion in rumen, roles of protozoa, intestinal starch digestion of bypass starch, limits to starch digestion in small intestine. The grain processing has different effects on digestion, weight gain and feed efficiency when different grain sources and contents is used, and the quality and quantity of roughage is different. The economical and efficient method of grain processing should be selected considering weight gain and feed efficiency enhancement than digestibility.

병렬연결법에 의한 1.8V CMOS Self-bias 고속 차동증폭기의 이득 개선 (The Gain Enhancement of 1.8V CMOS Self-bias High-speed Differential Amplifier by the Parallel Connection Method)

  • In this paper, a new parallel CMOS self-bias differential amplifier is designed to use in high-speed analog signal processing circuits. The designed parallel CMOS self-bias differential amplifier is developed by using internal biasing circuits and the complement gain stages which are parallel connected. And also, the parallel architecture of the designed parallel CMOS self-bias differential amplifier can improve the gain and gain-bandwidth product of the typical CMOS self-bias differential amplifier. With 1.8V $0.8{\mu}m$ CMOS process parameter, the results of HSPICE show that the designed parallel CMOS self-bias differential amplifier has a dc gain and a gain-bandwidth product of 64 dB and 49 MHz respectively.

미앤더라인 배열 구조를 이용한 이중 다이폴 준-야기 안테나의 이득 향상 (Gain Enhancement of Double Dipole Quasi-Yagi Antenna Using Meanderline Array Structure)

  • 본 논문에서는 미앤더라인 배열 구조를 이용한 이중 다이폴 준-야기 안테나의 이득 향상에 대하여 연구하였다. 미앤더라인 도체 모양의 단위 셀로 구성된 4×1 미앤더라인 배열 구조를 이중 다이폴 준-야기 안테나의 두 번째 다이폴 안테나 위에 배치하였다. 기존의 스트립 도파기를 사용하였을 때와 성능을 비교하기 위해 1.70 -2.70 GHz 대역에서 이득이 7 dBi 이상을 가지도록 설계하였다. 비교 결과, 제안한 미앤더라인 배열 구조를 사용하였을 때가 평균 이득이 더 크게 나타났다. 제안된 미앤더라인 배열 구조를 이용한 이중 다이폴 준-야기 안테나를 FR4 기판 상에 제작하여 특성을 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교하였다. 실험 결과, 전압 정재파비(voltage standing wave ratio; VSWR)가 2 이하인 대역은 1.55-2.82 GHz이고, 이득이 7 dBi 이상인 주파수 대역은 1.54-2.83 GHz으로 측정되었다. 기존 스트립 도파기를 사용하였을 때 보다 이득이 7 dBi 이상인 주파수 대역폭이 증가하고 평균 이득도 조금 증가하였다.

Filtering of a Dissonant Frequency for Speech Enhancement

  • There have been numerous studies on the enhancement of the noisy speech signal. In this paper, we propose a completely new speech enhancement scheme, that is, a filtering of a dissonant frequency (especially F# in each octave of the tempered scale) based on the fundamental frequency which is developed in frequency domain. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed enhancement scheme, subjective tests (MOS tests) were conducted. The subjective test results indicate that the proposed method provides a significant gain in audible improvement especially for speech contaminated by colored noise and speaking in a husky voice. Therefore when the filter is employed as a pre-filter for speech enhancement, the output speech quality and intelligibility is greatly enhanced.

Noise Suppression Using Normalized Time-Frequency Bin Average and Modified Gain Function for Speech Enhancement in Nonstationary Noisy Environments

  • A noise suppression algorithm is proposed for nonstationary noisy environments. The proposed algorithm is different from the conventional approaches such as the spectral subtraction algorithm and the minimum statistics noise estimation algorithm in that it classifies speech and noise signals in time-frequency bins. It calculates the ratio of the variance of the noisy power spectrum in time-frequency bins to its normalized time-frequency average. If the ratio is greater than an adaptive threshold, speech is considered to be present. Our adaptive algorithm tracks the threshold and controls the trade-off between residual noise and distortion. The estimated clean speech power spectrum is obtained by a modified gain function and the updated noisy power spectrum of the time-frequency bin. This new algorithm has the advantages of simplicity and light computational load for estimating the noise. This algorithm reduces the residual noise significantly, and is superior to the conventional methods.

Binary Mask Criteria Based on Distortion Constraints Induced by a Gain Function for Speech Enhancement

  • Large gains in speech intelligibility can be obtained using the SNR-based binary mask approach. This approach retains the time-frequency (T-F) units of the mixture signal, where the target signal is stronger than the interference noise (masker) (e.g., SNR > 0 dB), and removes the T-F units, where the interfering noise is dominant. This paper introduces two alternative binary masks based on the distortion constraints to improve the speech intelligibility. The distortion constraints are induced by a gain function for estimating the short-time spectral amplitude. One binary mask is designed to retain the speech underestimated (T-F) units while removing the speech overestimated (T-F)units. The other binary mask is designed to retain the noise overestimated (T-F) units while removing noise underestimated (T-F) units. Listening tests with oracle binary masks were conducted to assess the potential of the two binary masks in improving the intelligibility. The results suggested that the two binary masks based on distortion constraints can provide large gains in intelligibility when applied to noise-corrupted speech.
