Speed control of induction motor using Fuzzy PI controller (퍼지 PI 제어기를 이용한 유도전동기 속도제어)

  • The conventional PI controller are fragile in parameter variation and load-variation. Therefore, in this paper, a speed control algorithm based on the Fuzzy PI controller is proposed for the high performance speed control of a voltage-source inverter to drive 3-phase induction motors. The computer simulation results show that the proposed controller are more excellent control characteristics than conventional PI controller in transient-state and steady-state response.

  • The conventional PI controller has been widely used in industrial applications. If a PI control gain is selected suitable, the PI controller shows very good control performance. But it is very difficult to find the optimal PI control gain. Therefore, in this paper, the 4-rule based fuzzy logic modifier of the conventional PI controller are presented. The fuzzy logic modifier which exhibits a stabilizing effects on the closed-loop system, has good robustness regarding the improperly tuned PI controller. The simulation are performed to verify the capability of proposed control method on vector controlled induction motor drive system.

  • The Proportional-Integral-Derivative control scheme is widely used in industries. This paper investigates an alternative control paradigm for controlling lightweight Cartesian robot arms. Fuzzy PI control is used and validated experimentally by comparing performance with a conventional PID control algorithm. The results show the effectiveness of the fuzzy PI control. The fuzzy control shows superior performance in transient response over the conventional one.

  • In this paper, we proposes the AC input voltage and current sensorless control scheme to control the input power factor and DC output voltage of the three-phase Z-source PWM rectifier. For DC-link voltage control which is sensitive to the system parameters of the PWM rectifier, fuzzy-PI controller is used. Because the AC input voltage and current are estimated using only the DC-link voltage and current, AC input voltage and current sensors are not required. In addition, the unity input power factor and DC output voltage can be controlled. The phase-angle of the detected AC input voltage and estimated voltage, the response characteristics of the DC output voltage according to the DC voltage references, the FFT results of the estimated voltage and current, efficiency, and the response characteristics of the conventional PI controller and fuzzy-PI controller are verified by PSIM simulation.

  • This paper presents Fuzzy-Neuro PI controller of IPMSM drive using fuzzy and neural-network. In general, PI controller in computer numerically controlled machine process fixed gain. To increase the robustness, fixed gain PI controller, Fuzzy-Neuro PI controller proposes a new method based fuzzy and neural-network. Fuzzy-Neuro PI controller is developed to minimize overshoot and settling time following sudden parameter changes such as speed, load torque, inertia, rotor resistance and self inductance. The results on a speed controller of IPMSM are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed gain tuner.

  • The speed control system of diesel engine is considerably nonlinear. Therefore, a countermeasure such as gain scheduling used to be incorporated to compensate this nonlinearity. On the other hand, it is said that fuzzy control is very robust against nonlinearity. But it is difficult to get a satisfactory response with only fuzzy control in real system. In this paper authors design a fuzzy-PI controller for the speed control of Medium diesel engine and carry out experiments with dedicate system implemented by Intel 80916KC to real diesel engine, Deawoo MAN 6Cyl., 1800rpm driving 3$\psi$220V, 150KW generator. We confirm the effectiveness of proposed control system.

  • This paper represents a realization of a fuzzy PI control method for a speed control of BLDC motor. In other words, the gains of the PI controller is tuned by a fuzzy logic controller. Simplified reasoning methods are used for fuzzy reasoning. Fuzzy logic speed controller is designed by using the high performance of DSPchip(TMS320F240). By experiment, it is confirmed that the speed of BLDC motor well follows an command speed in the load variables or speed variables.

  • This paper describes a fuzzy PI control method to control the output voltage of three-phase Z-source PWM rectifier. The proposed fuzzy PI controller is a single input fuzzy with its fuzzification, inferences and de-fuzzification processes. The proposed method adjusts the Kp and Ki in real time in order to find the most suitable Kp and Ki for PI controller and to simplify the controller design. The PI portion of DC voltage controller is controlled by fuzzy method. The simulation is performed with PSIM and MATLAB/SIMULINK and is verified the validity of the proposed approach.

  • In this paper, robust control method using fuzzy PI parameter tuning is proposed to control constant thrust force on load variation. First, a structure and thrust force equations of the LPM are described. Second, an controller with PI parameter-tuning using a fuzzy theory is proposed to achieve high-precision position with constant thrust force of the LPM. Finally, the effectiveness of an fuzzy PI controller is demonstrated by some simulated and experimental results. Accurate tracking response and superior dynamic performance can be obtained due to the powerful on-line Fuzzy PI gain tuning method with regard parametric variations and load thrust force variations.

  • The fuzzy controller of the FFH(Fuel Fired Heater) used for vehicle is designed in this study. Two of the most important things of the pre-heater are how fast it can be at the set temperature and how to reduce the temperature deviation in the space to a minimum. The temperature deviation of the existed FFH with PI controller for temperature controller was reduced. Also, the fuzzy controller improved the response characteristics, and then the performance was inspected. When setting the temperature in this designed fuzzy controller, it took 12 minutes in the existed PI control method to reach $25^{\circ}C$. However, it took 9 minutes and 20 seconds in the fuzzy control method. Therefore, it is proved that the fuzzy controller is better than the existed one with fast response performance as 2 minutes 40 seconds. The temperature deviation was $2.4^{\circ}C$ in the existed control method but $1.6^{\circ}C$ in the designed fuzzy controller. Accordingly, the temperature deviation was improved too.
