RF CMOS 기술의 현재와 미래

  • Wireless communication systems will be one of the biggest drivers of semiconductor products over the next decade. Global Positioning System (GPS) and Blue-tooth, HomeRF, and Wireless-LNA system are just a few of RF-module candidate awaiting integration into next generation mobile phone. Motivated by the generation mobile phone. Motivated by the growing needs for low-cost and multi-band/multi-function single chip wireless transceivers, CMOS technology has been recognized as a most promising candidate for the implementation of the future wireless communication systems.   • Great success has been being achieved in identification and utilization of candidate genes affecting economically important as well as disease related traits in animals for the past two decades. This article reviews the current status of candidate genes in animals, with particular emphasis on the disease causing genes in livestock. Two different types of phenotypes, monogenic and polygenic, are also described. Finally, commercialized animal DNA markers, which can be used for the molecular breeding in near future, are discussed.

  • Layer manufacturing technology has been recently spotlighted as a promising candidate to fabricate porous scaffolds for tissue engineering, because it can provide three dimensional interconnectivity and different pore structures and on-demand scaffold design. This study aims to fabricate HA/PCL composite scaffolds for bone tissue engineering by a layer manufacturing technology, paste extruding deposition, and to characterize in vitro and in vivo biocompatibilities of the scaffolds. This study discusses the mechnical properties, proliferation and differentiation of osteogenic cells, and tissue in-growth and bone regeneration behavior using animal models.

  • After the outbreak of COVID-19, the construction industry, which has more contact between workers than other industries, needs to improve its environment through the technology development for automation of construction projects. This study conducted 5-point scale surveys of 39 candidate technologies on 54 workers in construction- related industries to derive priorities for technology development to improve the construction environment. The result of this survey shows the top 10 candidate technology priorities, and this analysis can be used as basic data for setting the direction for future construction development.

  • Researchers in KISTI have been participating in the WISET Fellow Mentoring program since 2009 [1]. We describe the history and future of WISET Fellow Mentoring program from KISTI. We have communicated with mentees more freely and effectively using complementary online and offline system. In addition, we designed a automated matching process in order to help mentors and mentees to begin mentoring with satisfaction [2-6]. In the future, we plan to use our automated matching process for matching candidate mentors and mentees in order to obtain more satisfaction in mentoring.

A Review of Power Electronics Based Microgrids

  • The increased penetration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) is challenging the entire architecture of conventional electrical power system. Microgrid paradigm, featuring higher flexibility and reliability, becomes an attractive candidate for the future power grid. In this paper, an overview of microgrid configurations is given. Then, possible structure options and control methods of DER units are presented, which is followed by the descriptions of system controls and power management strategies for AC microgrids. Finally, future trends of microgrids are discussed pointing out how this concept can be a key to achieve a more intelligent and flexible power system.

  • In this work, we studied the interactions of the complexes of a DNA base inserted between graphene layers through density functional theory (DFT) calculations. We find that there exists the negligible energy barrier as well as robust and distinguishable electronic fingerprints during the translocation of the DNA bases. Our result shows that the bilayer graphene can be a possible candidate for the future-generation of DNA sequencing device platform.

잠재적 후보기술 경로 탐색방법 : 바이오 연료 사례 (Method to Identify Future Technology Candidates: Biofuel Case)

  • 기존 주경로 연구는 과거 핵심기술의 진화를 구조화하는데 적합하나, 패러다임 전환기의 잠재적 후보기술 파악과 주류기술 교체를 예측하기는 어렵다. 본 연구는 링크 중요도, 성장 속도 지표, 핵심 루트 방법을 복합해 특허 인용 네트워크로부터 주경로상의 기술을 대체할 잠재적 후보기술들을 파악하는 방법을 제시한다. 링크 중요도에 기반해 주경로를 도출하고, 성장 속도 지표를 활용해 주경로 대비 고성장하는 잠재적 후보기술 경로들을 도출한다. 성장 속도 지표는 상대적 성장성 평가에 활용되고, 이를 통해 주경로를 교체할 가능성이 높은 잠재적 후보기술을 파악할 수 있다. 차세대 기술 후보들이 다수 등장해 경쟁하고 있는 바이오 연료기술에 적용한 결과 실제 차년도에 주경로상의 기술을 교체하는 후보기술들을 파악할 수 있었다. 기술 패러다임 전환기 후보기술에 대한 정량적 분석을 가능하게 하고, 주경로 기법의 활용범위를 미래기술 예측으로 확대한 측면에서 학문적 의의가 있다. 실무에서는 차세대 후보기술 파악의 정확도 제고에 기여할 수 있다.
