Although the stall stagnation phenomena have often been experienced in site and also analytically in numerical experiments in surges in systems of compressors and flow paths, the fundamental causes have not been identified yet. In order to clarify the situations, behaviours of infinitesimal disturbance waves superposed on a main flow were studied in a simplified one-dimensional flow model. A ratio of the amplifying rate of the system instability to the characteristic slope of the compressor element was surveyed as the instability enhancement factor. Numerical calculations have shown the following tendency of the factor. In the situation where both the sectional area ratio and the length ratio of the delivery flow-path to the suction duct are sufficiently large, the enhancement factors are greater in magnitude, which means occurrence of ordinary deep surges. However, in the situation where the area ratio and/or the length ratio is relatively smaller, the enhancement factor tends to lessen significantly, which situation tends to suppress deep surges for the same value of the characteristic slope. It could result in the stall stagnation condition. In the domain of area ratio vs. length ratio of the delivery duct to the suction duct, contour-lines of the enhancement factor behave qualitatively similar to those of the stall stagnation boundaries of a fan analytically obtained, suggesting that a certain range of the enhancement factor values could specify the stagnation occurrence. The significant decreases in the factors are observed to accompany appearances of phase lags and travelling waves in the wave motions, which macroscopically suggests breaking down of the complete surge actions of filling and emptying of the air in the delivery duct. The strength of the action is deeply related with acoustic interferences and is evaluated in terms of the volume-modified reduced resonance frequency proposed by the author. These observations have shown the fundamental cause and the sequence of the stall stagnation in principle.

Before cables are constructed, tower of suspension bridge is behaved as a cantilever type. Buffeting occured by unsteady loading of the tower due to velocity fluctuation in the oncoming flow has a wind velocity consistent with fundamental frequency of the tower and may give rise to large response by the tower resonance. To reduce the dynamic response by buffeting, the behavior of tower with TMD(Tuned Mass Damper) has studied using finite element method in time domain. The buffeting was obtained by transforming the velocity spectrum in frequency domain to random variable in certain time domain. The most probable maximum displacement which can be occured during the time interval was obtained using peak factor. The optimum location for TMD installation and TMD specification were decided by parametric study. Also, the effect of vibration control about various wind velocity was studied by the TMD which has optimum specification and location.
The insulin-like growth factor (IGF) is found in all vertebrates and its type-II molecule is regarded as a fundamental embryonic growth factor during development. We have firstly identified, in this study, a cDNA clone corresponding to IGF-II (flIGF-II) from the adult brain of the teleost, Paralichthys olivaceus. We also examined the tissue expression of flIGF-II in several adult tissues by RT-PCR. The flIGF-II cDNA contained a complete ORF consisting of 215 amino acids and one stop codon. Its molecular characteristics appear to be similar to the previously identified IGF-II molecules, in which a common primary structure exhibiting B, C, A, D, and E domains is evidently observed. This cDNA clone seems to be cleaved at $Ala_{52}$ for the $NH_2$-end signal peptide and appears to produce a 98 amino acid-long E-peptide from the $Arg^{118}$. The functional B-D domain regions, therefore, include 65 amino acids and is able to encode a 7.4-kDa protein. The most prominent structural difference between IGF-I and IGF-II was that the D domain of IGF-II exhibits a two-codon-deleted pattern compared to the 8 amino acid-containing IGF-I. The insulin family signature in the A domain and six cysteins forming three disulfide bridges between the B and A domains were evolutionary-conserved from teleosts to mammalian IGF-II. Interestingly, the E-peptide region appears to provide a distinct hallmark between teleosts in amino acid composition. The flIGF-II shows 85.1% of sequence identity to salmon and trout, 90.6% to tilapia, and 98.4% to perch in amino acid level. In tissue expressions of IGF-II, it is very likely that flIGF-II has a significant expression in the adult brain. However, liver seems to be the main source for IGF-II production, and relatively low signals were observed in the adult muscle and kidney. Taken together, it would be concluded that the functional region for IGF-II mRNA is highly similar in phylogeny and is evolutionary, conserved as a mediator for the growth of vertebrates.

Boiling point (BP) is one of the most fundamental physicochemical properties of organic compounds to characterize and identify the thermal characteristics of target compounds. Previously developed QSPR equations, however, still had some limitation for the specific compounds, like high-energy molecules, mainly because of the lack of experimental data and less coverage. A large BP dataset of 5,923 solid organic compounds was finally secured in this study, after dedicated pre-filtration of experimental data from different sources, mostly consisting of compounds not only from common organic molecules but also from some specially used molecules, and those dataset was used to build the new BP prediction model. Various machine learning methods were performed for newly collected data based on meaningful 2D descriptor set. Results of combined check showed acceptable validity and robustness of our models, and consensus approaches of each model were also performed. Applicability domain of BP prediction model was shown based on descriptor of training set.
Price skimming practices, false claim on products, false information/communication, marketing overseas, and deception on products in marketing have received significant attention by the researchers of ethics in marketing studies. This research considers these phenomena as marketing instruments that grossly violate the practice of ethics in this domain. The two most crucial parts in marketing that have received greater attention are product safety and advertising. The paper also examines Ethical Marketing as the ability to make marketing decisions that are morally right and acceptable to all. In order words, ethics in marketing explains how moral standards can be applied in marketing decisions. It seeks to answer the research question by looking at some fundamental business ethics theories, namely, Virtue ethics, Utilitarian, and Deontological approaches to business ethics. Nevertheless, ethics in business is very controversial as many hold different view about what makes up the standard morals that corporations should take and so it is necessary for any organization to formulate its ethical codes to follow.
Given a Riemannian manifold (M, $\alpha$) with an almost Hermitian structure f and a non-vanishing covariant vector field b, consider the generalized Randers metric $L\;=\;{\alpha}+{\beta}$, where $\beta$ is a special singular Riemannian metric defined by b and f. This metric L is called an (a, b, f)-metric. We compute the inverse and the determinant of the fundamental tensor ($g_{ij}$) of an (a, b, f)-metric. Then we determine the maximal domain D of $TM{\backslash}O$ for an (a, b, f)-manifold where a y-local Finsler structure L is defined. And then we show that any (a, b, f)-manifold is quasi-C-reducible and find a condition under which an (a, b, f)-manifold is C-reducible.

Among the various methods of realizing low sensitivity digital filters. LBR two-pair cascading is one which enables us to realize low sensitivity filter without referring to any analog prototype filters. In this paper we analyze the LBR cascade structures through the fundamental approach to them based on the WDF theory, and interpret their features described solely in the digital domain in relation to the corresponding analog circuit Besides, we derive in a unified manner various LBR constraints needed for the LBR cascade realization, point out the insufficiency lurking in the existing description of the Type 3 LBR constraints, complement it, and make the LBR two-pair cascading procedure complete.

We demonstrate a wavelength swept mode-locked ring laser for the frequency domain optical coherence tomography(FD OCT). A laser is constructed by using a semiconductor optical amplifier, fiber Fabry-Perot tunable filter and 2.6 km fiber ring cavity. Mode-locking is implemented by 2.6 km fiber ring cavity for matching the fundamental or harmonic of cavity roundtrip time to a sweep period. The wavelength sweeps are repetitively generated with the repetition period of 77.2 kHz which is the parallel resonance frequency of Fabry-Perot tunable filter for the low driving current consumption of the fiber Fabry-Perot tunable filter. The wavelength tuning range of the laser is more than FWHM of 61 nm centered at the wavelength of 1320 nm and the linewidth of the source is $0.014{\pm}0.002$ nm.

It was investigated whether the waste polyethylene chips can be recycled as construction materials in geotechnical engineering field. The standard Proctor test, the hydraulic conductivity test, the large box direct shear test, the thermal conductivity test, the frost heaving test and the time domain reflectometry test were performed on weathered granite soil mixed with variable amount of the waste polyethylene chips. The experimental results showed that the hydraulic conductivity and the shear strength of weathered granite soil increase with increasing the amount of the waste polyethylene chips. On the other hand, the thermal conductivity, the amount of frost heaving and the unfrozen water contents of weathered granite soil decrease with increasing the amount of the waste polyethylene chips.

Back rake angle of tool is one of the fundamental effects to the cutting ability. In this paper, for several back rake angle of lathe tool (-5$^{\circ}$ , 0$^{\circ}$ , 5$^{\circ}$ , 10$^{\circ}$ , 15$^{\circ}$ ), we experimentally examine cutting forces via orthogonal cutting. Using measured cutting forces, a formula for specific cutting resistance is derived according to the variation of tool angle. Also, the measured cutting forces are analyzed in both time and frequency domain. Cutting parameters are obtained by measuring the thickness of chip, and the effect of the back rake angle of tool is manifested. This study maintains the predicted cutting model with improved accuracy.
