Trichothecium roseum에 의한 토마토 분홍빛열매썩음병 발생 (First Report of Pink Mold Rot on Tomato Fruit Caused by Trichothecium roseum in Korea)

  • 2005년 7월 경기도 파주시 시설재배 농가에서 완숙토마토 과실의 배꼽 부위가 암갈색으로 변하면서 낙과되는 피해가 발생하였다. 병반 표면에 옅은 분홍색의 곰팡이가 형성된 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 병든 식물체에서 병원균을 분리하여 균학적 특징을 검토한 결과 Trichothecium roseum으로 동정되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 가지고 이 병을 T. roseum에 의한 토마토 분홍빛열매썩음병으로 제안하고자 한다.

Diagnosis and Integrated Management of Fruit Rot in Cucurbita argyrosperma, Caused by Sclerotium rolfsii

  • Fruit rot is the principal phytopathological problem of pipiana pumpkin (Cucurbita argyrosperma Huber) in the state of Guerrero. The aims of this research were to 1) identify the causal agent of southern blight on pumpkin fruits by morphological, pathogenic, and molecular analysis (ITS1, 5.8S, ITS2); 2) evaluate in vitro Trichoderma spp. strains and chemical fungicides; and 3) evaluate under rainfed field conditions, the strains that obtained the best results in vitro, combined with fungicides during two crop cycles. Number of commercial and non-commercial fruits at harvest, and seed yield ($kg\;ha^{-1}$) were registered. Morphological, pathogenic and molecular characterization identified Sclerotium rolfsii as the causal agent of rot in pipiana pumpkin fruits. Now, in vitro conditions, the highest inhibition of S. rolfsii were obtained by Trichoderma virens strain G-41 (70.72%), T. asperellum strain CSAEGro-1 (69%), and the fungicides metalaxyl (100%), pyraclostrobin (100%), quintozene (100%), cyprodinil + fludioxonil (100%), and prochloraz (100%). Thiophanate-methyl only delayed growth (4.17%). In field conditions, during the spring-summer 2015 cycle, T. asperellum strain CSAEGro-1 + metalaxyl, and T. asperellum + cyprodinil + fludioxonil, favored the highest number of fruits and seed yield in the crop.

  • 2005년 전남 나주와 광주의 멜론 재배포장에서 잎맥을 따라 갈색으로 변색되면서 시드는 증상이 관찰되었고, 과실 표면에는 점무늬의 수침상이 형성되며 과실 내부는 갈색으로 썩는 증상이 관찰되었다. 잎과 과실의 병반부로부터 2개의 세균을 분리하여 생리생화학적 실험, 유전적 실험 및 병원성 실험 결과 Acidovorax avenae subsp. citrulli로 동정되었다. 이 보고는 국내에서 최초이며, 이 병을 멜론 과실썩음병으로 명명할 것을 제안한다.

The Responses of Yukbo Strawberry (Fragaria ananassa Duch.) Fruit to Nitric Oxide

  • The quality of Yukbo strawberry (Fragaria ananassa Duch.) fruit declines rapidly after harvest. Therefore, we examined the effects of nitric oxide (NO) on its respiration rate, quality, and shelf life. Strawberries were fumigated for 5 hr at 0, 50, 100, 200, or $500\;{\mu}L/L$ NO atmosphers, followed by a hold at $18^{\circ}C$ in air. Treatment with NO delayed the onset of ethylene production ad reduced respiration, which at $18^{\circ}C$ resulted I a maintained quality and prolonged shelf life. The NO-treated strawberries were also firmer and had a lower incidence of disease than the untreated fruit. The effect of NO on fruit quality was dose-dependent. Strawberries that were treated with low and high concentrations of 50 and $500\;{\mu}L/L$ No, respectively, had severe disease incidence and were of poor quality. Treating with NO at a concentration of $200\;{\mu}L/L$ appeared to slow down the ripening and senescence of fruit stored at $18^{\circ}C$. Calyx browning, respiration, and rot development progressed more quickly in strawberries treated with $500\;{\mu}L/L$ NO compared to those treated with $200\;{\mu}L/L$ No.

Applications of Organic Fungicides Reduce Photosynthesis and Fruit Quality of Apple Trees

  • Two different pest control programs were applied on 8-year-old 'Ryoka'/M.26 apple trees (Malus domestica Borkh.). Lime sulfur or Bordeaux mixture with emulsified oil were applied 12 times from late March to mid-September as organic treatment, and synthetic chemicals were 7 times applied as control treatment. Over the entire apple-growing season, photosynthesis rates of apple trees were significantly lower in the organic treatment than in the control, and this photosynthetic differences were larger in July and August. Photosynthesis-related parameters such as stomatal conductance and transpiration behaved similarly to photosynthesis. The leaf area in the organic treatment was significantly smaller ($24.7cm^2$) than that in the control treatment ($30.7cm^2$). Organic leaves contained significantly less Chl. a ($15.5mg{\cdot}g^{-1}$) than did control leaves ($17.6mg{\cdot}g^{-1}$). Fruit yield per tree was significantly lower in the organic treatment (18.8 kg) than in the control (24.5 kg), because organic fruits experienced a higher rate of disease infection such as white rot (Botryosphaeria dothidae) and bitter rot (Glomerella cingulata) than did control fruits. Organic fruits had high flesh firmness but less color development (lower Hunter's a values). In this experiment, the pest control program with frequent applications of organic fungicides showed negative effects on photosynthesis and disease infection on leaves and fruits, and thus reduce the fruit quality and yield in 'Ryoka'/M.26 apple trees.

고랭지 착색단고추의 접목재배 효과 (Effects of Grafting Cultivation on the Growth and Yield of Paprika in Highlands)

  • 본 시험은 고랭지에서 착색단고추의 접목재배로 토경재배시 지하부 환경개선을 통해 토양전염성 병을 예방하고, 수량성을 향상시키고자 저항성 대목들을 수집하여 접목재배하여 생육, 수량 및 병저항성을 비교하였다. 접수는 적색계인 스피리트품종을 사용하였다. 역병균을 접종한 결과 자근묘인 Spirit는 접종 후 5일 만에 100% 고사하였고, 저항성이 높은 대목으로는 탄탄대목, Skurt-S, AC 2258, PST 8301 등 4품종이었다. 또한 청고병에 저항성이 높은 대목으로는 역강, 탄탄대목, TE 412, 갤럭시, MC 4, PST VK, PST NV 등 7품종이었다. 접목구는 지근묘에 비해 근중이 무거워 지하부의 환경개선효과가 뚜렷하였다. 접목과 비접목에 따른 과실의 외적 ${\cdot}$ 내적인 품질은 큰 차이가 없었다. 수량성이 높은 대목은 PST 8301, MC 4, 왕건 등이었다.

  • 2012년 경상남도 진주시 농산물도매시장에서 구입한 사과에서 분홍빛열매썩음병이 발생하였다. 병징은 사과 과실 표면이 갈색으로 변하면서 약간 함몰되어지고 수침상으로 물러지고 썩으면서 그 위에 분홍빛 곰팡이가 형성되었다. 감자한천배지 위에서 균총의 색깔은 처음 흰색이고 배양기간이 경과됨에 따라 분홍빛의 분생포자가 많이 형성되었다. 균사생육 적온은 $25^{\circ}C$이었다. 분생포자의 모양은 서양배형이며 좌우 지그자그로 부착하며 성숙한 분생포자는 2개의 세포로 되어있다. 크기는 $12-26{\times}8-12{\mu}m$이었다. 분생자경은 균사표면에 직립으로 형성하고, 폭이 $4-5{\mu}m$이고 무색이었다. 위와 같은 결과를 통해 사과에서 발생한 병징과 병원균의 균학적 특징을 기초로 하여 이 병을 Trichothecium roseum (Pers.) Link ex Gray에 의한 사과 분홍빛열매썩음병으로 명명하고자 제안한다.

Morphological Variations, Genetic Diversity and Pathogenicity of Colletotrichum species Causing Grape Ripe Rot in Korea

  • Ripe rot was frequently observed on fruits, leaves and stems of grape growing in eight locations in Korea from 2004 to 2006. All 30 isolates of Colletotrichum sp. were obtained from lesions of the ripe rot on grape plants. Out of the isolates, 19 isolates were identified as Colletotrichum acutatum and the others as Colletotrichum gloeosporioides based on morphological and cultural characteristics. Inter and intra specific variations of the Colletotrichum spp. isolates were investigated using RAPD and sequences of rDNA ITS and $\beta$-tubulin-2. Isolates of C. acutatum and C. gloeosporioides were distinctly differentiated by molecular analyses. Phylogenetic trees of ITS and$\beta$-tubulin-2 showed that Korean isolates of C. acutatum were clustered into groups A2 and A3 among the eight global groups. A2 included non-chromogenic isolates and A3 chromogenic ones. Both C. acutatum and C. gloeosporioides isolates were tested for pathogenicity to grape leaves. All isolates tested induced lesions on the leaves of grape by artificial inoculation. There was no difference in pathogenicity between C. acutatum and C. gloeosporioides isolates. This is the first report that C. acutatum except C. gloeosporioides causes grape ripe rot in Korea.

  • 경상남도농업기술원 시험포장에서 S. rolfsii에 의한 수세미오이 흰비단병 증상이 발생하였다. 병징은 과실이 수침상으로 무르고 갈색으로 변하면서 썩는다. 병반부와 토양 표면에 흰색의 곰팡이가 발생하며 갈색의 작은 둥근 균핵이 형성되었다. 감자한천배지에서 균총은 흰색이고 잘 자라며 배양기간이 경과됨에 따라 갈색의 작은 둥근균핵을 많이 형성하였다. 균핵의 크기는 1-3 mm이며 균사의 폭은 4-9 ${\mu}m$였다. 균사생육과 균핵 형성 적온은 $30^{\circ}C$이었다. 균사특유의 clamp connection이 관찰되었다. 수세미오이에서 발생한 병징과 병원균의 균학적 특징, 그리고 ITS rDNA 염기서열 비교분석 결과, 이 병을 Sclerotium rolfsii Saccardo에 의한 수세미오이 흰비단병으로 명명하고자 제안한다.

Use of hot water, combination of hot water and phosphite, and 1-MCP as post-harvest treatments for passion fruit (Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa) reduces anthracnose and does not alter fruit quality

  • This research aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of hot water ($43-53^{\circ}C{\cdot}5min^{-1}$; $47^{\circ}C{\cdot}2-6min^{-1}$), 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) at $50-300nL\;L^{-1}$ and a combination of hot water ($47/49^{\circ}C{\cdot}5min^{-1}$) and phosphite $40%\;P_2O_5+20%\;K_2O$;$40%\;P_2O_5+10%\;Zn$) in anthracnose control and the effect on fruit quality [fresh weight loss (FWL-%); pH, total soluble solids ($TSS-^{\circ}Brix$), and titratable acidity (TA = % citric acid (CA)] of passion fruit ( Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa ) at the postharvest stage. When the fruits were in the stage of 0% dehydration and fully yellow peels, they were disinfested and inoculated with Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. They were then subjected to the above mentioned treatments; this was followed by incubation for 120 h. The diameter of the disease lesions was monitored daily. After the incubation, a physico-chemical analysis was performed. Hot-water treatment resulted in disease reduction at 47 and $49^{\circ}C$ for 4 and 5 min. The combination of hot-water treatment at $47^{\circ}C$ (4 or 5 min) and application of the phosphite of K or Zn significantly reduced disease severity in fruits. The 1-MCP treatment reduced anthracnose severity in passion fruit mainly at $200nL\;L^{-1}{\cdot} 24h^{-1} $. None of the treatments significantly changed the physico-chemical characteristics of the fruit [FWL (2.6-4.1%); pH (3.2-3.5), TSS ($8.9-10.9^{\circ}Brix$), and TA (1.8-2.5% CA)].
