Study on the Recognition and Purchase Status of Eco-Friendly Oral Hygiene Products

  • Background: Plastic waste generates pollutants in the process of incineration or landfilling, and accumulates in water or marine organisms, causing adverse effects on the environment and the human body. Recently, various eco-friendly oral hygiene products (Eco-OHPs) such as bamboo toothbrushes and biodegradable plastic toothbrushes have been developed. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the current level of awareness and purchasing status of eco-OHPs among adults who are interested in eco-friendly products. Methods: This study included adults aged >19 years who regularly visited eco-friendly shops and online sites; the online survey links were distributed during their visits to eco-friendly Internet cafés and companies. Of the 22 questions, seven assessed the participants' general characteristics, three assessed the general oral hygiene care products used, six assessed the level of awareness of Eco-OHPs, and six assessed the purchasing status of Eco-OHPs. Frequency analysis, chi-square test, and regression analysis were performed using SPSS software. Results: Among the respondents, 108 (51.4%) were aware of Eco-OHPs, and 79 (37.6%) had experience purchasing Eco-OHPs. The most common reason for not purchasing was the lack of information about related brands or products (74, 56.5%). The most common platform used in obtaining information was the Internet (general: 31.5%, eco-friendly: 46.3%), such as Social Network Service, Internet cafes, and blogs. The experience in purchasing Eco-OHPs was affected by whether the respondents recognized the possibility of contributing to environmental preservation, availability of vendors, product safety, and the number of eco-friendly products purchased. Conclusion: In order to expand the use of Eco-OHPs, various efforts such as promotion of eco-friendly characteristics, determination of related vendors, reliable analysis of product safety, and expansion of product experience opportunities are required.

  • The objective of this study was to develop a signal process software for a Electromyograph(EMG). And this paper was developed to general signal process software for a Electromyograph using biomechanics. It was used the clinic, rehabilitation, ergonomics and sports. It was composed to the module type for the monitoring frequency analysis, the zero crossing and comparison analysis etc. It's UI(User Interface) made up the continuous monitoring, the reports and the user-friendly-approach. This developed Electromyography will be applied to biomedical engineering system.

  • Recently, the most mobile application software developers are being faced by short developing time (fast time-to-market), various requirements and requirement changes. In order to overcome the environment, developer should support user friendly GUI and assure the quality from the early developing process using GUI test method. This paper proposes a test method and tool for mobile software GUI, which reduces test time and supports comfortable test environment by user oriented UI design. We implemented a tool based on test scenarios based image flow for high testing accuracy and test case reusability. And the results show the characteristics of the method compared to the existing tools.

Acid-Base Bifunctional Metal-Organic Frameworks: Green Synthesis and Application in One-Pot Glucose to 5-HMF Conversion

  • The direct synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with acidic and basic active sites is challenging due to the introduction of functional groups by post-functionalization method often jeopardize the framework integrity. Herein, we report the direct synthesis of acid-base bifunctional MOFs with tuning acid-base strength. Employing modulated hydrothermal (MHT) approach, microporous MOFs named $UiO-66-NH_2$ was prepared. Through the ring-opening reaction of 1,3-propanesultone with amino group, $UiO-66-NH_2-SO_3H-type$ catalysts can be obtained. The synthesized catalysts were well characterized and their catalytic performances were evaluated in one-pot glucose to 5-HMF conversion. Results revealed the acid-base bi-functional catalyst possessed high activity and excellent stability. This work provides a general and economically viable approach for the large-scale synthesis of acid-base bi-functional MOFs for their potential use in catalysis field.

  • As the number of elderly people rapidly increases, needs of patient safety monitoring system also increases in indoor and outdoor medical facilities. With developing technologies related to sensors and information and communication technology, various dementia patient monitoring systems have been proposed. However, previous studies that depend on wearable devices provides limited functionalities. In this paper, we designed an integrated system that includes smart devices to monitor patient's status, user friendly UI/UX, and interaction with hospital information system. Medical teams and carers can receive satus of each patient in real-time and trace the location of dementia patients outdoor as well as indoor by using the proposed system.

  • In this paper, we implement the multimedia remote control system by using existing internet service or wired online. We also provide user-friendly convenient environment with developed application program named EzPlay and PC-EPG. The multimedia remote control system consists of integrated wireless transceiver of PC and TV connected USB type and the users can easily use lots of contents because EzPlay program provides appropriate UI mode on the PC and TV screen. The unposed system can operate real-time playing, reserved video receding and data storing function using internet mesh based on signal detecting control theory. The PC-EPG system is implemented by server/client web program and the client program based on visual C++/MFC processes data storing in client computer through TCP/IP. It also provides intelligent function that constructs database according to user's preference.

  • The detail design of overhead line can be dievided into a pegging plan and MD(Mounting Diagram) process. A program can perform a MD process was already developed and used in Honam High-Speed project. In this study, a pegging plan program which can perform mast distribution automatically is developed. The system is developed based on dot net framework 4.0 and Civil3D 2012 and used spread 4.0 component for grid UI. It can not be directly used a rail horizontal alignment and long-section profile together on drawing. Therefore using Civil3D, mathematical alignment and profile of rail can be accomplished. And this program has an advantage of user friendly operation because of close relationship between the two.

User Experience Analysis on Music Phone: based on FGI across five countries (뮤직폰 사용자 경험에 대한 5개국 FGI 분석)

  • 본 연구는 사용자에게 친숙한 (user-friendly) 뮤직폰을 디자인하기 위하여, 실제 사용자들을 대상으로 일반적인 음악에 대한 경험 및 뮤직폰을 비롯, MP3 플레이어와 같은 포터블 뮤직 디바이스에 대한 경험을 조사 분석한 것이다. 조사 방법으로는 Focus Group Interview 와 설문이 사용되었으며, 한국을 포함하여 일본, 미국, 영국, 이탈리아 등 5개국 사용자들을 대상으로 동시에 실시되었다. 각 지역의 서로 다른 사용자 특성을 비교 분석하기 위하여 모두 동일한 진행 방법 및 조사 문항을 이용하였다. 대상자는 뮤직폰의 목표 사용자층을 고려하여 각국에서 2~30대의 남녀 5~8명을 선정하였다. 조사 결과, 5개국 공통으로 존재하는 사용자 경험 및 요청사항이 다수 발견되었으며, 이를 통해 뮤직에 대한 경험이 매우 보편적인 경험임을 확인하였다. 음악에 대한 경험에서는 PC를 음악 파일 저장 및 관리에 사용하는 관리 행태가, 뮤직폰에 대해서는 하드웨어적인 향상 니즈가 대표적인 공통점이었다. 또한, 자주 사용하는 기능이나 선호하는 인터랙션에 있어서는 국가 간, 지역 간 공통점과 함께 차이점도 발견되었다. 본 연구는 이러한 조사 결과를 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 뮤직폰의 사용자 경험을 향상시킬 수 있는 가이드를 제시하고자 한다.

  • As the Kyoto protocol and Bali road-map, our country is expected to be included to the emission reduction controlled country of greenhouse gas, so we are now urgent situation to take an action in the level of government. In this research, environment friendly rail logistics and combined transport were treated to meet with the green growth policy of our government. Major problems of Ui-wang ICD suggested in this research are short of yards, unutilized public CY, inconvenience use by non-share holders. It is necessary to improve rail logistic infrastructure, that is, additional expansion of yard, direct operation by KORAIL and regular unloading system are needed. such improvement can not be solved just by the endeavor of business body. Rail logistic infra & Integrated freight terminal has a tendency of SOC, which require tremendous amount of investment, so there are some limit in doing by private sector itself, now it's time to do by the government level. The improvement of rail logistic infrastructure in the level of government is possible by the policy of environment friendly green logistic support which is related with Logistic Policy Basic Law, so government should prepare detailed directives to activate Integrated freight terminal.
