This paper presents a miniaturized turn-counting sensor (TCS) where the geomagnetism and high-rpm rotation of ammunition are used to detect the turn number of ammunition for applications to small-caliber turn-counting fuzes. The TCS, composed of cores and a coil, has a robust structure with no moving part for increasing the shock survivability in the gunfire environments of ${\sim}30,000$ g's. The TCS is designed on the basis of the simulation results of an electromagnetic analysis tool, $Maxwell^{(R)}$3D. In experimental study, the static TCS test using a solenoid-coil apparatus and the dynamic TCS test (firing test) have been made. The presented TCS has shown that the induction voltage of $6.5{\;}mV_{P-P}$ is generated at the magnetic flux density of 0.05 mT and the rotational velocity of 30,000 rpm. From the measured signal, the TCS has shown the SNR of 44.0 dB, the nonlinearity of 0.59 % and the frequency-normalized sensitivity of $0.26{\pm}0.01{\;}V/T{\cdot}Hz$ in the temperature range of $-30{\sim}+43^{\circ}C$. Firing test has shown that the TCS can be used as a turn-counting sensor for small-caliber ammunition, verifying the shock survivability of TCS in high-g environments.
In the transportation planning process, origin and destination(O-D) trip matrix is one of the most important elements. There have been developments and applications of the methodology to adjust old matrices using link traffic counts. Commonly, the accuracy of an adjusted O-D matrix depends very much on the reliability of the input data such as the numbers and locations of traffic counting points in the road network. In the real application of the methodology, decisions on the numbers and locations of traffic counting points are one of the difficult problems, because usually as networks become bigger, the numbers of traffic counting points are required more. Therefore, this paper investigates these issues as an experiment using a nationwide network in Korea. We have compared and contrasted the set of link flows assigned by the old and the adjusted O-D matrices with the set of observed link flows. It has been analyzed by increasing the number of the traffic counting points on the experimental road network. As a result of these analyses, we can see an optimal set of the number of counting links through statistical analysis, which are approximately ten percentages of the total link numbers. In addition, the results show that the discrepancies between the old and the adjusted matrices in terms of the trip length frequency distributions and the assigned and the counted link flows are minimized using the optimal set of the counted links.
The following methods have been proposed for implementing R2 multi-frequency receiver digitally: using digital filters, period-counting algorithm, discrete Fourier transform or Goertzel algorithm, and fast Fourier transform.

This paper presents a digitally-controlled filter calibration technique for biquad RC filter using self oscillation. The biquad RC filter is converted to a fully-differential ring oscillator by changing its resistor connections, where the oscillation frequency reflects the cut-off frequency. The proposed calibration circuit measures the oscillation frequency by counting with a fixed higher-frequency clock and then tunes it to a desired frequency with a digital frequency-locked loop including a PI controller. Because the proposed circuit directly measures the cut-off frequency of the filter itself and calibrates it with the small area digital circuits, the area and the power consumption are much small compared with conventional works. When it is implemented in a 65nm CMOS process, the calibration circuit except the filter consumes the area of 80um X 50um and power consumption is 443uA at 1.2 V supply voltage.

According to the comparing the quality and fatigue of Hands-only CPR with counting by middle-aged women who is most likely to witness the cardiac arrest. This paper wants to provide the basic data to establish a CPR education program for the role of the first responders. After conducted three hours of basic life support training, it divided into two 45-persons groups by assignment of probability. 2-minutes research conducted with dummy by dividing into Group-A that counting the number loudly during the Hands-Only CPR, And Group-B that does not counting the number during the Hands-Only CPR. Between the two groups, the quality of Hands-Only CPR does not showed its difference clearly and the downtime of Hands-Only CPR was reduced, Depending on the over time, the frequency that reduces the depth of Hands-Only CPR was also significantly lower. And after the Hands-Only CPR, the fatigability who felt themselves was also significantly lower.

A single pixel photon counting type image sensor which is applicable for medical diagnosis with digitally obtained image and industrial purpose has been designed with $0.18{\mu}m$ triple-well CMOS process. The designed single pixel for readout chip is able to be operated by single supply voltage to simplify digital X-ray image sensor module and a preamplifier which is consist of folded cascode CMOS operational amplifier has been designed to enlarge signal voltage(${\Delta}Vs$), the output voltage of preamplifier. And an externally tunable threshold voltage generator circuit which generates threshold voltage in the readout chip has been newly proposed against the conventional external threshold voltage supply. In addition, A dark current compensation circuit for reducing dark current noise from photo diode is proposed and 15bit LFSR(Linear Feedback Shift Resister) Counter which is able to have high counting frequency and small layout area is designed.

The importance of maintenance of rail surface defects is increasing according to the KTX operation. That is because during high speed operation of rolling stocks, rail surface defects shorten fatigue life of rail, accelerate track degradation and deteriorate ride comfort. Rail grinding has been applied for effective rail maintenance in Kyeong-Bu HS line. This paper evaluates the effectiveness of rail grinding in term of rail fatigue life. To this end, the stresses of the ground rail are measured under KTX running and the equivalent stress range is calculated by RMC after the frequency analysis done with Rainflow counting method. Also, Pamglen-Miner rule is applied to predict the fatigue life of ground rail. The result of the analysis shows that the fatigue life of ground rail is increased by 15%.

In this paper, we propose an efficient method for estimating the number of people and their locations using multiple IR-UWB radar sensors. Using three IR-UWB radar sensors in the indoor space, the measured signal from the target is processed to remove the clutter using rejection methods. Then, to further remove the clutter and to determine the presence of the human, the time-frequency image representing the micro-Doppler is obtained and classified by a convolutional neural network. Finally, the system finds the number of human objects and estimates each position in a two-dimensional space. In experiments using the measured data, the system successfully estimated the location and number of individuals with a high accuracy ≈ 88.68 %.
Offshore structures are exposed to low- and high-frequency responses due to environmental loads, and fatigue damage models are used to calculate the fatigue damage from these. In this study, we tried to optimize the main parameters used in fatigue damage calculation to derive a new fatigue damage model. A total of 162 bi-modal spectra using the elliptic equation were defined to describe the response of offshore structures. To calculate the fatigue damage from the spectra, time series were generated from the spectra using the inverse Fourier transform, and the rain-flow counting method was applied. The considered optimization variables were the size of the frequency increments, ratio of the time increment, and number of repetitions of the time series. In order to obtain optimized values, the fatigue damage was calculated using the parameter values proposed in previous work, and the fatigue damage was calculated by increasing or decreasing the proposed values. The results were compared, and the error rate was checked. Based on the test results, new values were found for the size of the frequency increment and number of time series iterations. As a validation, the fatigue damage of an actual tension spectrum found using the new proposed values and fatigue damage found using the previously proposed method were compared. In conclusion, we propose a new optimized calculation process that is faster and more accurate than the existed method.
