실내 동상시스템을 이용한 노상토의 동상민감성 평가 (The Frost Heaving Susceptibility Evaluation of Subgrade Soils Using Laboratory Freezing System)

  • 겨울에는 시베리아기단에 의해 한랭 건조한 대륙성 고기압의 영향을 받는 계절동토지역인 우리나라는 춥고 건조하여 1월 평균기온이 $-6{\sim}-7^{\circ}C$의 영하의 온도로 낮아져 지반동결시 수분이동으로 동상현상이 발생하여 지반구조물의 불균형 동결팽창을 초래한다. 동상 발생시 토립자는 모관력에 의해 지하수를 흡수하여 아이스렌즈를 형성하며, 이 모관 흡수력은 토립자의 크기에 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 흙의 종류에 따른 동상민감성의 차이를 알아보기 위하여 공학적 특성이 다른 10종류의 흙시료에 대하여 물리적 특성 파악과 통일분류법에 의한 흙 분류를 통해 실내동상실험을 실시하였다. 이에 각각 흙의 종류에 따른 동결깊이, 동상팽창량, 부동수분, 아이스렌즈와 같은 동상특성을 확인하여 시료의 동상민감성을 평가하였다.

Mechanism for Bank Erosion and Local Scouring in Estuary of the Hangang River

  • The levee and bridge pier in estuary of the Hangang River are exposed in a dangerous condition due to bank erosion and local scouring occurred since the summer season in 2011. At first, it is presumed that the high sandbar formed in river channel of the study area was an important element in the occurrence of bank erosion and local scouring. It can be presumed that the record-breaking depth of freezing due to cold wave for the long term during the winter season between 2010 and 2011 as well as the heavy intensive rainfall of 2011 had a decisive effect on the first damage of A section. The second damage of B section mainly occurred around the bridge pier constructed on the high water channel before it was washed away during the winter season between 2011 and 2012. It is considered that the second damage was caused by ice formation and ice floes.

터널 온도계측을 통한 라이닝 단열 설계에 관한 연구 (A study on the design of tunnel lining insulation based on measurement of temperature in tunnel)

  • 한랭지에 건설된 터널의 경우 터널 주변지반 지하수의 동결은 동절기 터널 배수 장애의 원인이 되며 라이닝을 내공 측으로 압출시키는 원인으로 작용하기도 한다. 노르웨이 등 해외에서는 이미 한랭지에 건설되는 터널의 동해방지를 위한 단열기준을 가지고 있으나 국내에서는 아직까지 터널 라이닝 동해방지를 위한 단열설계가 도입되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 국내 도로터널의 동결 사례를 고찰하여 터널 라이닝 동해방지 대책이 필요함을 파악하였다. 또한 터널 주위의 온도분포를 파악하기 위해 화악터널에서 터널 종단길이에 따른 온도분포, 라이닝 내부의 온도, 포장면 하부지반의 온도 분포를 계측하였으며 이로부터 외기 온도변화에 따른 터널 내부 온도 분포 특성을 분석하였다. 화악터널의 온도분포 계측 결과를 바탕으로 단열재의 성능시험을 위해 인공기후실에서 단열재 설치 유무에 따른 암석시편의 열유동 실험을 수행하였다. 또한 터널 라이닝 동해를 방지할 수 있는 적정 단열재 두께를 제안하기 위해 3 차원 수치해석을 실시하였다. 수치해석 결과로부터 터널배면 지하수 동결기준으로 동결지수를 약 291$^{\circ}C{\cdot}$ Hr로 제안하였다.

환원슬래그를 사용한 모르타르의 저온에서의 초기동해 방지에 관한 연구 (The Study of Experiment on Preventing Frost Damage at Early Age of Mortar in Low Temperature using Reduction Slag.)

  • In this research, it used cement power and reduction slag, which generates high hydration heat in hydration reation without heat cure below -5℃ degree. Purpose of final research is preventing freezing and thawing by making the compressive strength 5MPa in 3days below zero temperature due to own heat of concrete. and it is the result of physical characteristic and thermal property evaluation of reduction slag. Because reduction sag generates high hydration heat, compressive strength development is excellent. By generating highly Hydration heat by C12A7 and C3A in reduction slag, compressive strength is developed in low temperature. In case of displacing only reduction slag without SO3, it is indicated that quick-setting occurs by shortage of SO3. For preventing quick-setting, gypsum is used essentially. According to this research result, in case of using reduction slag and gypsum as a ternary system, Compressive strength developed 5MPa in 3days below zero temperature. It is identified to prevent early frost damage of concrete below zero temperature.

터널라이닝 표면에 부착된 발열체로 인한 라이닝의 온도변화 현장실험 (Field Test of Tunnel Lining Temperature Variation due to Heating Element Attached to Tunnel Lining Surface)

  • 국내 한랭지역의 경우 고속도로터널 및 일반도로터널에서 발생하는 동결피해 사례는 조사 및 보고되고 있지만, 이에 대한 방안대책은 미흡한 상황이다. 한랭지역의 경우 영상권을 유지하는 다른 지역들과는 달리 평균온도가 영하로 떨어지는 지역이며, 동일지역 터널 내에서도 기온이 낮은 입출구에서 손상이 좀 더 발생하는 것으로 조사 되었다. 터널 라이닝의 온도저하를 방지하기 위하여 동절기에 라이닝의 온도를 강제로 상승시킬 수 있는 발열체를 제작하였다. 발열체는 실규모 터널의 라이닝에 부착하여 발열체의 열에 의한 터널 라이닝 주변의 온도변화를 측정하였다. 연구결과 발열체의 발열에 의해 라이닝의 온도상승 정도를 확인하였으며, 일정시간이 경과하면 라이닝의 온도상승이 수렴하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 활용하여 동절기 터널라이닝 및 배면의 동결피해를 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Freeze Tolerance Enhanced by Antifreeze Protein in Plant

  • When plants are exposed to subfreezing temperatures ice crystals are forming within extracelluar space in leaves. The growth of ice crystal is closely related to the degree of freezing injury. It was shown that an antifreeze protein binds to an ice nucleator through hydrogen bonds to prevent growth of ice crystal and also reduces freezing damage. The antifreeze proteins in plants are similar to PR proteins but only the PR proteins induced upon cold acclimation were shown to have dual functions in antifreezing as well as antifungal activities. Three of the genes encoded for CLP, GLP, and TLP were isolated from barley and Kentucky bluegrass based on amino acid sequence revealed after purification and low temperature-inducibility as shown in analysis of the protein. The deduced amino acid of the genes cloned showed a signal for secretion into extracellular space where the antifreezing activity sup-posed to work. The western analysis using the antisera raised against the antifreeze proteins showed a positive correlation between the amount of the protein and the level of freeze tolerance among different cultivars of barely. Besides it was revealed that TLP is responsible for a freeze tolerance induced by a treatment of trinexapac ethyl in Kentucky bluegrass. Analysis of an overwintering wild rice, Oryza rufipogon also showed that an acquisition of freeze tolerance relied on accumulation of the protein similar to CLP. The more direct evidence for the role of CLP in freeze tolerance was made with the analysis of the transgenic tobacco showing extracellular accumulation of CLP and enhanced freeze tolerance measured by amount of ion leakage and rate of photosynthetic electron transport upon freezing. These antifreeze proteins genes will be good candidates for transformation into crops such as lettuce and strawberry to develop into the new crops capable of freeze-storage and such as rose and grape to enhance a freeze tolerance for a safe survival during winter.

동절기 고강도콘크리트의 시공에 있어서 초기동해 방지에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Early Frost Resistance Properties of High-Strength Concrete in Winter Concreting)

  • Recently, the structure is higher and larger, so that the application of high-strength concrete is increased, And as the development of construction skills, it is possible to place during the winter. Concrete work during winter is indispensible to shorten time of completion and cut costs. When concrete work during winter is placed, it has anxiety that concrete freeze at low temperature. As repetition of concrete's freezing cause reduction of durability, it is necessary for mixing to pay attention to air content and W/C ratios. Accordingly, in this study, we estimate the frost resistance by air content and W/C ratios, and development of strength after early-frost damage in the high-strength concrete during the cold weather. In this study, it could be confirmed that factors which were air content, W/C ratios and early curing period, affected on the frost resistance.

수관 피복이 노지재배 '부지화' 감귤나무의 보온과 내한성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Canopy Covering on Thermal Insulation and Freezing Tolerence of 'Shiranui' Hybrid Mandarin Cultivated in Field During Winter Season)

  • 노지재배 '부지화' 나무의 동해를 경감시키기 위해 피복재로 타이벡, 위드스톱, 35% 차광망을 사용하여 피복재 내, 외부 온도와 상대습도 변화를 평가하였다. 한파 시 피복에 따른 보온 정도와 잎의 LT50을 조사하였다. 타이벡은 1.5m에서 피복재 내부와 외부의 온도 차이는 낮았고 0.4m에서는 높았다. 상대습도는 주야간 차이가 컸으며 오전 6-8시에 높았다.-2℃일 때 24시간 타이벡 피복은 수관 1.5m에서 무처리보다 적산온도가 3.4℃ 높았다. 잎의 LT50은 타이벡 1.51℃, 위드스톱 1.33℃, 35% 차광망은 1.61℃로 무처리보다 낮았다. 타이벡의 수관 내 보온효과와 상대습도를 고려할 때 환기를 위한 미세한 천공 후 '부지화' 나무에 피복시 동해 발생을 줄일 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

  • In order to examine the possibility of practical at low-temperature environment curable cement mortar with chloride and nitrite as cold resistance admixture for rebar corrosion prevention. As a result, chloride was used using nitrite complex in low temperature environment and corrosion performance of rebar was improved and mortar strength was promoted. The ratio of nitrite than chloride applied more than twice, corrosion of the reinforcing bars will not occur even in low temperature environment, cement hydration reaction will be promoted and mortar will prevent freezing damage.

실링 테이프 적용에 따른 시공조인트 균열 저항성 평가 (Evaluation of Crack Resistance of Cold Joint as Usage of Sealing Tape)

  • PURPOSES : In order to evaluate a crack resistance at cold joint, sealing tape was adopted to apply at cold joint instead of typical tack coat material(RSC-4). The sealing tape was made by hot sealing material. The crack resistance as function of environmental and traffic loading was measured with visual observation. METHODS : In this study, the crack resistance was evaluated as function of environmental and traffic loading. The freeze-thaw method was adopted for environmental loading of asphalt pavement. condition. The damage of cold joint under freeze-thaw action is initiated by ice expansion load and accelerated by the interfacial damage between new and old asphalt pavement. The traffic loading was applied with wheel tracking machine on the cold joint area of the asphalt pavement for 3 hours at $25^{\circ}C$. The evaluation of crack resistance was measured with visual observation. The freeze-thaw results shows that the sealing tape was significantly increased the crack resistance based on. RESULTS : To estimate the crack resistance at cold joint area due to the environmental loading, the Freeze-thaw test was conducted by exposing the product to freezing temperature(approximately $-18^{\circ}C$) for 24 hours, and then allowing it to thaw at $60^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours. The tack coat material(RSC-4) was debonded after 21 cycles of the Freeze-thaw test. The first crack was observed after 14 freeze-thaw cycle with RSC-4 material. But, the sealing tape was not debonded after 24 cycle test. Also, the sealing tape shows the better performance of the crack resistance under the traffic loading with wheel track test. The crack was generated the under traffic loading with RSC-4(tack coating), however, the crack was not shown with sealing tape. It indicates that the sealing tape has a strong resistance of tensile stress due to traffic loading. CONCLUSIONS :Based on limited laboratory test result, a performance of crack resistance using the sealing tape is better than that of general tack coat material(RSC-4). It means that the sealing tape is possible to extend a pavement service life because the crack, one of the main pavement distresses, will be delayed.
