브로콜리(Brassica oleracea var. italica) 잎에서 sulforaphane의 함량 변화 (Content changes of Sulforaphane in Leaves of Brassica oleracea var. italica)

  • 브로콜리 13종의 잎을 대상으로 sulforaphane의 함량을 분석한 결과, 2종에서는 검출되지 않았으나 11종에서는 검출되었다. "필그림" 품종이 가장 많은 sulforaphane 함량을 나타냈다. 브로콜리 잎을 blinder로 브로콜리의 잎을 균질화한 후에 sulforaphane의 생합성능은 30분 후에 급격히 증가하여 60분까지 함량이 유지되었다. 또한 sulforaphane은 동결건조를 할 경우 브로콜리 잎의 분말에서 검출되었으나 열풍건조를 할 경우 휘산 되어 분말에서 검출되지 않았다. 브로콜리의 부위별로(꽃 봉우리, 잎, 줄기 및 뿌리) sulforaphane의 함량을 분석한 결과, 뿌리에서 가장 많은 sulforaphane이 검출 되었고 다음으로 잎에서 높았다. 브로콜리 잎에서 생합성된 sulforaphane의 경시변화를 분석한 결과, 상온보관 보다 냉동보관 상태에서 오래 지속되었으나 냉동보관 조건에서도 3주 후에 sulforaphane의 함량이 1/2 이하로 감소하였다.

Accelerated life testing of concrete based on stochastic approach and assessment

  • This study aimed to design the accelerated life testing (ALT) of concrete, which stimulating the special natural environment maximumly. Its evaluation indexes, such as dynamic elastic modulus, mass and ultrasonic velocity were measured, and the variation of relative mass and relative dynamic elastic modulus of concrete were studied. Meanwhile, the microanalysis method was used. Moreover, an exploratory application of the stochastic approach, the Weibull distribution and the lognormal distribution, were made to assess the durability of concrete structures. The results show that the ALT for simulating natural environment is more close to the service process of concrete structure under actual conditions; The relative dynamic elastic modulus can be used as the dominant durability evaluation parameters, because it is more sensitive to the environmental factors compared with the relative quality evaluation parameters; In the course of the concrete deterioration, the destruction of the salt freezing cycle is the dominant factor, supplemented by other factors; Both of those two stochastic approaches can be used to evaluate the reliability of concrete specimens under the condition of ALT; By comparison, The lognormal distribution method is better to describe the reliability process.

직교유동 내에 놓인 수평 실린더에서 서리 생성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study of frost forming on the horizontal cylinder under cross flow)

  • Variations of thickness and effective thermal conductivity of frost forming on the horizontal] cylinder with respect to time were measured under cross flow. The local heat flux around the cylinder was determined by measuring the radial temperature distribution in the cylinder having small holes drilled axially in which T-type thermocouples were inserted, then by using one dimensional cylindrical heat conduction equation. The thickness and the surface temperature of the frost layer around the cylinder were measured periodically while developing the frost. Each experiment was peformed by varying the Reynolds number, the temperature, and the humidity condition. Specially the dew point temperature of the most cases was below the freezing point. Experimental data showed that the frost layers on the front and the rear surface were thicker than those on the top and the bottom one which was near the separation point. The thickness and effective thermal conductivity of the frost layer were affected by inlet air velocity, temperature, and humidity. Moreover, the effective thermal conductivity and the effective thermal resistance increase with respect to time.

지하암반 냉동저장고 주변의 온도분포 예측을 위한 수치해석 (A Numerical Analysis to Predict the Temperature Distribution around a Cold Storage Cavern)

  • 지하암반 냉동저장고 주변의 온도분포를 예측하기 위하여, FLAC을 이용한 2차원 및 3차원 수치해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석 수행 시 암반 열물성에 대한 지하수 및 동결잠열의 영향을 고려하였으며, 2차원 및 3차원 수치해석 결과와 5년간의 지하암반 온도계측 자료를 비교하였다. 2차원 수치해석 결과 실험실 물성을 이용한 경우는 계측 결과와 큰 오차를 나타내었으며, 지하수 부피비 20% 및 동결잠열을 고려한 수치해석 결과가 계측 결과와 가장 작은 오차를 나타내었다. 하지만, 냉동기 가동시간이 증가하면서 지표면으로의 열 유동의 영향으로 커지는 오차는 커지는 경향을 나타내었다. 지표면의 영향을 고려하는 3차원 수치모델을 정립하여 수치해석을 수행한 결과, 지하수 및 동결잠열의 영향을 고려한 수치모델이 계측 결과가 잘 일치하는 경향을 나타내었다.

Spontaneous ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome following a thawed embryo transfer cycle

  • This article reports a case of spontaneous ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) following a thawed embryo transfer cycle. OHSS, a potentially life-threatening condition, is an iatrogenic complication of controlled ovarian stimulation; therefore, it is very important to prevent and treat OHSS during treatment with ovulation-inducing agents. Despite our efforts to prevent OHSS, in this case, severe spontaneous OHSS occurred, which resulted in uncontrolled preterm labor and a preterm delivery and also persisted for 6 weeks after delivery. Freezing all embryos cannot entirely prevent the development of OHSS because OHSS can occur spontaneously. Although spontaneous OHSS remains a rare event, females with a history of OHSS may have an elevated risk for spontaneous OHSS. We suggest closely monitoring cases of pregnancy following thawed embryo transfer for early diagnosis of spontaneous OHSS and the use of conservative management.

장어 시판제품에 대한 동북아시아의 가공현황 및 일본인 소비자의 구매실태 조사 (A Study on Utilization of Japanese Consumers and the Present Condition of Northeast Asia Processed Eels)

  • This study investigated the current processing degree and ingredients of sauce on the packaging of the commercial eel products made in Northeast Asia (Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan) and surveyedthe perception of nutritional functionality and purchasing pattern of Japanese consumers for the processed eels. The results are considered as a useful aid for preparation of processed eel products. The commercial eel products, purchased at a department store, supermarket and discount market, were divided by processing method, package quantity, storage method and sauce ingredients. The processing method was indicated in many different ways in each country, such as sauce ingredients and intake method. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 105 Japanese consumers (male 43, female 62) visiting Korea. Of the respondents, 44% answered and the major reasons for purchasing processed eel products were as a side dish for meals. The results for this factor were significantly different in relation to age (p <0.05). The degree of perceptions of functional excellence about processed eel products was well known (37%), some (49%), and seldom (14%). The results for this factor were significantly different in relation to age (p <0.001). Seventy-five percent of the respondents had experienced processed eel products. The type of purchase of the respondents was highest for vinegared rice and fish (47%), followed by freezing (33%), canning (5%), and dried food (4%), in that order.

우렁쉥이(Halocynthia roretzi) 육(肉)의 동결(凍結) 저장중(貯藏中) 흑변방지(黑變防止)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Studies on the Prevention against the Blackening of Ascidian (Halocynthia roretzi) during the Frozen Storage)

  • 본 연구는 우렁쉥이(Halocynthia roretzi)의 가공 및 저장 수단을 모색하기 위하여 냉동품으로서의 가능성과 동결저장 중 이에 수반되어 일어나는 흑변방지를 목적으로 실시하였으며, 흑변현상은 저장온도가 낮고, Polyethylene film으로 밀착포장한 것은 그렇지 않은 것보다 진행속도가 완만하였다. 식품첨가물 중 식염수와 구연산이 흑변방지 효과가 우수하였으며 3%식염수에 0.3% 구연산 함유용액을 조제하여 $3{\sim}5$분간 침지한 다음 수지 필름에 밀착포장하여 $-45^{\circ}C$에서 5시간동안 동결한 것을 $-20^{\circ}C$에서 저장한 것은 저장 200일까지도 색조 및 품질 변화가 거의 없었다.

Effect of Ice Recrystallization on Freeze Concentration of Milk Solutes in a Lab-Scale Unit

  • Freeze concentration of milk was carried out thorough the controlled recrystallization of ice in a multi-stage freeze concentrator. Artificial temperature control was used to induce ice recrystallization via a heat and cold shock process. In each stage of freeze concentration, the recrystallization time was fixed at 1, 2, 4, and 8 hr to compare the solute concentrate, yield, Brix, ice crystal size, and freezing point at each experimental condition. Higher concentrations of milk solids were seen with increased durations of recrystallization time, and a maximum total solids in the final product of 32.7% was obtained with a ripening time of 8 hr in a second stage process. Milk solid yield decreased according to the solute concentration and recrystallization time. The results of Brix and ice crystal size showed a positive correlation with recrystallizaiton time. These results suggest the possibility of freeze concentration being of practical use in the dairy industry.

  • 이미 개발이 완료됐거나 개발 중인 인디케이터 3가지를 이용하여 다양한 온도에서의 색 변화 여부 및 정도를 측정하였다. 각각의 인디케이터는 다른 반응 기작 및 화학 물질을 사용하고 있어, 색 변화에 필요한 활성화 에너지 값 및 반응 속도에 차이가 있었다. 이러한 특징은 내용물의 저장 및 유통 조건에 맞는 적절한 인디케이터를 이용하여 원하는 결과를 얻을 수 있다는 사실을 알게 되었다. 즉 제품의 주된 저장조건이 냉동인지 아니면 냉장인지 그리고 제품의 품질 변화 속도를 고려하여 각기 다른 인디케이터를 사용하면 내용물의 실제 저장 기간과 색 변화와의 상관관계 효과를 높일 수 있다. 또한 저장 및 유통 시 온도의 변화가 수반됨으로서 온도의 지속적인 변화에 다른 색 변화 가능성을 연구할 필요가 있으며 이와 아울러 실제 식품에 부착하여 내용물의 상태와 색 변화를 연관시키는 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

저온 환경에서의 조기강도 발현을 위한 콘크리트 포장 배합 연구 (A Study on Mix Design of Concrete Pavement on Early Strength Development in Cool Weather Condition)

  • PURPOSES : This paper focuses on strength development according to the mix design with cement type and mineral admixture from laboratory and field tests in cool weather. METHODS : Two methods evaluated the mix design of concrete pavement in cool weather. Firstly, laboratory tests including slump, air contents, setting time, strength, maturity, and freezing-thawing test were conducted. Three alternatives were selected based on the tests. Secondly, a field test was conducted and the optimum mix design in cool weather was suggested. RESULTS : It is an evident from the laboratory test that a mix with type III cement showed better performance than the one with type I cement. There was a delay in strength development of a mix with mineral admixture compared to mix design without any mineral admixture. In the field test, type III cement+flyash 20% mix design proved the best performance. CONCLUSIONS : For concrete pavement in cool weather, mix design using type III cement could overcome the strength delay due to mineral admixture. Moreover, it is possible to make sure of durability of pavement. Therefore, strength and durability problems due to cool weather would decrease.
