  • This paper presents a method in which the user produces a real-time facial animation by navigating in the space of facial expressions created from a great number of captured facial expressions. The core of the method is define the distance between each facial expressions and how to distribute into suitable intuitive space using it and user interface to generate realtime facial expression animation in this space. We created the search space from about 2,400 raptured facial expression frames. And, when the user free travels through the space, facial expressions located on the path are displayed in sequence. To visually distribute about 2,400 captured racial expressions in the space, we need to calculate distance between each frames. And we use Floyd's algorithm to get all-pairs shortest path between each frames, then get the manifold distance using it. The distribution of frames in intuitive space apply a multi-dimensional scaling using manifold distance of facial expression frames, and distributed in 2D space. We distributed into intuitive space with keep distance between facial expression frames in the original form. So, The method presented at this paper has large advantage that free navigate and not limited into intuitive space to generate facial expression animation because of always existing the facial expression frames to navigate by user. Also, It is very efficient that confirm and regenerate nth realtime generation using user interface easy to use for facial expression animation user want.

  • That different mechanisms are involved in the secretory processes by the liver and the kidney of various dyes has been indicated by Sporter (1959), Kim and Hong (1963). Andrews (1958). suggested that a striking difference in the dye-secretory mechanism existed even in the same organ from species to species. Hence, the attempt has been made to study in the rabbit the secretory processes by the live. and the kidney of either phenol red (PSP), bromsulfalein (BSP) or green in the presence of Na-acetate, Na-taurocholate, P-Aminohippurate (PAH) or Benemid. In 37 rabbits, weighing about 2kg., anesthetized with ether, a dye was administered in such 8 manner that the plasma concentration was kept at a relatively constant level throughout the whole experimental period. Hepatic bile sad urine samples were quantitatively collected through the canulae which were previously inserted into the common bile duct (with the cystic duct ligated) and the urinary bladder, respectively, while arterial samples were taken from a femoral artery. After 50 min from the onset of dye administration, these samples were obtained every 10 mit for a period of 40 min. This was followed by the administration of either Na-acetate, Na-tauro-cholate, PAH or Benemid with a repetition of the same sample collecting procedures just stated. The results may be summarized as follows: 1) Na·acetate augmented urinary clearance of PSP by nearly 300 per cent, but lowered urinary BSP clearance by about 50 per cent. It enhanced biliary BSP clearance by 40% and had no effect on biliary psp clearance. 2) Na-taurocholate lowered biliary and urinary clearance of PSP by 10 per cent and 30 per cent respectively, and had no effect on both biliary and urinary clearance of BSP. 3) PAH lowered both biliary and urinary excretion of BSP and PSP, while it lowered the biliary excretion of indocyanine green which was excreted only in the bile. 4) Benemid suppressed BSP excretion by the liver and the kidney. 5) raper chromatographic analysis of PSP and of BSP in the bile and urine samples gave the following results: a) PSP Ivas excreted in the urine and bile only in free forms, and no modification in the excretory pattern was brought about by Na-taurocholate. b) BSP was excreted in the urine in 4 different conjugated froms and in the bile in both 3 different conjugated forms and in a free form. Na-taurocholate modified the excretory pattern of the urinary BSP.

  • The flap considered at first for the reconstruction of large maxillary defect, especially mid-face defect, is scapular free flap, because it provides ample composite tissue which can be designed 3-dimensionally for orbital, facial and oral reconstruction. In case of maxillary defect involving hard palate, however, this flap has some limitations. First, its bulk prevents oral function and physio-anatomic reconstruction of nasal and oral cavity. Second, mobility and thickness of cutaneous paddle covering the alveolar area reduce retention of tissue-supported denture and give rise to peri-implantitis when implant is installed. Third, lateral border of scapula that is to reconstruct maxillary arch and hold implants is straight, not U-shaped maxillary arch form. To overcome these problems, new concept of step prefabrication technique was provided to a 27-year-old male patient who had been suffering from a complete hard palate and maxillary alveolar ridge defect. In the first stage, scapular osteomuscular flap was elevated, tailored to fit the maxillary defect, particulated autologous bone was placed subperiosteally to simulate U-shaped alveolar process, and then wrapped up with split thickness skin graft(STSG, 0.3mm thickness). Two months later, thus prefabricated new flap was elevated and microtransferred to the palato-maxillary defect. After 6 months, 10 implant fixtures were installed along the reconstructed maxillary alveolus, with following final prosthetic rehabilitation. The procedure was very successful and patient is enjoying normal rigid diet and speech.

  • A method of dynamic analysis is developed for torsional free vibrations of elliptical-box girder type or stiffening truss system suspension bridge. In this study, the method based on a finite element technique using a digital computer, is illustrated by two numerical examples, the Namhae Bridge which is located in Kyungsang nam-do opened on June, 1973, and the Mt. Chunma Bridge is simple span pedestrian's suspension bridge with lateral bracing system in Mt. Chunma, Kyungki-do, are used. In general, dynamic modes of complex suspension bridges are three-dimensional in form, i.e., coupling between vertical and torsional motions. However, introduced that amplitudes of oscillation are infinitesimal for coincidence with the purpose of it's use, thereupon, the torsional vibration analyses are treated without coupling terms. A sufficient number of natural frequencies and mode shapes for torsional free vibration are presented in this paper. In the case of Mt. Chunma Bridge, the natural frequencies and periods are computed with and without reinforcement, respectively, and compared their discrepancies. The influence of the auxiliary reinforcing cables is prevailing in the first few modes, namely, 1st and 2nd in symmetric and 1st, 2nd and 3rd in antisymmetric vibration, and conspicuous in the symmetric compared with the antisymmetric motion, but in the higher modes, this kind of simple accessory elucidates rether converse effects. In the Namhae Bridge, the results are compared with the Manual's obtained by wind tunnel test. It reveals commendable agreement.

  • Background: Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) is a spectrum of disease with abnormal trophoblastic proliferation. Treatment is based on FIGO stage and WHO risk factor scores. Patients whose score is 12 or more are considered as at extremely high risk with a high likelihood of resistance to first line treatment. Optimal therapy is therefore controversial. Objective: This study was conducted in order to summarize the regimen used for extremely high risk or resistant GTN patients in our institution the in past 10 years. Materials and Methods: All the charts of GTN patients classified as extremely high risk, recurrent or resistant during 1 January 2002 to 31 December 2011 were reviewed. Criteria for diagnosis of GTN were also assessed to confirm the diagnosis. FIGO stage and WHO risk prognostic score were also re-calculated to ensure the accuracy of the information. Patient characteristics were reviewed in the aspects of age, weight, height, BMI, presenting symptoms, metastatic area, lesions, FIGO stage, WHO risk factor score, serum hCG level, treatment regimen, adjuvant treatments, side effects and response to treatment, including disease free survival. Results: Eight patients meeting the criteria of extremely high risk or resistant GTN were included in this review. Mean age was 33.6 years (SD=13.5, range 17-53). Of the total, 3 were stage III (37.5%) and 5 were stage IV (62.5%). Mean duration from previous pregnancies to GTN was 17.6 months (SD 9.9). Mean serum hCG level was 864,589 mIU/ml (SD 98,151). Presenting symptoms of the patients were various such as hemoptysis, abdominal pain, headache, heavy vaginal bleeding and stroke. The most commonly used first line chemotherapeutic regimen in our institution was the VAC regimen which was given to 4 of 8 patients in this study. The most common second line chemotherapy was EMACO. Adjuvant radiation was given to most of the patients who had brain metastasis. Most of the patients have to delay chemotherapy for 1-2 weeks due to grade 2-3 leukopenia and require G-CSF to rescue from neutropenia. Five form 8 patients were still survived. Mean of disease free survival was 20.4 months. Two patients died of the disease, while another one patient died from sepsis of pressure sore wound. None of surviving patients developed recurrence of disease after complete treatment. Conclusions: In extremely high risk GTN patients, main treatment is multi-agent chemotherapy. In our institution, we usually use VAC as a first line treatment of high risk GTN, but since resistance is quite common, this may not suitable for extremely high risk GTN patients. The most commonly used second line multi-agent chemotherapy in our institution is EMA-CO. Adjuvant brain radiation was administered to most of the patients with brain metastasis in our institution. The survival rate is comparable to previous reviews. Our treatment demonstrated differences from other institutions but the survival is comparable. The limitation of this review is the number of cases is small due to rarity of the disease. Further trials or multicenter analyses may be considered.

  • The estimation of the volume of a pit excavation is often required in many surveying, soil mechanics, highway applications and transportation engineering situations. The calculation of earthwork plays a major role in plan or design of many civil engineering projects such as seashore reclamation, and thus it has become very important to improve the accuracy of earthwork calculation. In this paper the spot height method, proposed formulas(A, B, C), and chen and Line method are compared with the volumes of the pits in these examples. And we proposed an algorithm of finding a terrain surface with the free boundary conditions and both direction spline method drawback, i.e., the modeling curves form peak points at the joints. To avoid this drawback, the cubic spline polynomial was chosen as the methematical model of the new method. From the characteristics of the cubic spline polynomial, the modeling curve of the new method was smooth and matched the ground profile well. As a result of this study, algorithm of proposed three methods to estimate pit excavation volume provided a better accuracy than spot height, chamber, chen and Lin method. And the mathematical model mentioned makes is thought to give a maximum acccuracy in estimating the volume of a pit excavation.

  • In this paper the manufacture of shrinkage-free in situ Mullite-ZrO$_2$ceramics through the addition of Al base metal powder to the mixture of ZrSiO$_4$and A1$_2$O$_3$was attempt. The ZrO$_2$-strengthened mullite ceramics was prepared after the following reaction form, 3(Al+Al$_2$O$_3$)+2ZrSiO$_4$longrightarrow3A1$_2$O$_3$.2SiO$_2$+2ZrO$_2$Al metal powder was added from none to 30 weight percent to the A1$_2$O$_3$. The powders were mechanically mixed, isostatically pressed and reaction sintered at 1450-1$600^{\circ}C$ for 3hours. The specimens were sintered with and without intrim soaking time for 5 hours at 125$0^{\circ}C$ for the oxidation of Al-powder The addition of aluminium accelerates the reaction and compensate the shrinkage during the sintering through an increase in volume of oxidized Al. Because coarse flake type Al metal powders were not effectively milled, oxidized Al resulted in the relative large pore in the specimen.

  • This study aimed at examining the music world of the composer Muczynski, who played an important and meaningful role in the various experimental trends of music which began to appear in the early $20^{th}$ century, and his works, thereby understanding his relationship with the development of music of various genres today. In the study, his pieces of piano music among his works, which formed the basis for his music, were analyzed. The study examined stylistic characteristics, that is techniques of various types including form, melody, harmony, tonality, rhythm and structure, and introduced the composer's growth in terms of music and philosophical background. Muczynski, the composer who showed the characteristics of neoclassicism, neoromanticism and neobaroque in contrast to the various forms of the $20^{th}$ music, namely music of free styles including atonal music, twelve-tone technique, avant-garde music and electronic music, used traditional forms. However, the characteristics of his works are very free. In addition, in the 1960s, he participated in the production of documentary movie music, creating very creative and sensational music. Muczynski's music has the features of tonality and shows neoclassic and neoromantic features including economical idea, lyrical melody, bitonality and nine-note scale. His music, therefore, is being evaluated as very creative and valuable and is largely significant in that it has provided a good basis for the development of modern movie music and jazz music today.

  • KITECH and ODS performed a study of internal and external noise prediction of the KHST test train. The object of this study was 3 kind of cars; trailer car(TT2), motorized car(TM1) and power car(TP1) and the predicted noise was calculated for the two different driving speeds in free field and tunnel conditions. Data of carbody design and noise sources were delivered from each manufactures. Some of noise sources which were not available in project team, were chosen by experiences of ODS. Internal noise level of each car were predicted for two cases i.e, at 300 km/h and 350 km/h. In addition sound transmission path and dominant noise sources were also investigated of each section of car, which is circular shell typed part of whole carbody. In case of TT2, the dominating sound transmission path is floor in terms or structure-borne noise and air-borne noise. The main noise sources are structure-borne noise from the yaw-damper and air-borne noise from the wheel/rail contact, whereas the dominating sound transmission path of TM1 are floor and sidewall below the window in terms of structure-borne noise. The main noise sources of TM1 are structure-borne noise from motor/gear unit and the yaw-damper in the free field, and air-borne noise from the wheel/rail contact and structure-borne noise from motor/gear unit in the tunnel. Through the external noise prediction for the KHST test train formation, the noise form the wheel/rail contact is estimated as one of the major sources. In addition, the noise specification of sub-component was proposed for managing each sub-surpplier to reach the KHST noise requirement. The specification provide the sound power of machinery part and transmission loss of component of carbody structure. The predicted noise level in each case exceeded the required limit. Through this study, the noise characteristics of the test train were investigated by simulation, and then the actual test will be performed in near future. Both measured and calculated data will be compared and further work for noise reduction will be continued.

  • Knudsen number is the ratio of molecular mean free path versus mm thickness and the criterion to determine the flow form. When its value is lower than 0.01, the flow can be assumed to has no slip boundary condition. And in the case that the value is between 0.01 and 10, then the flow has slip boundary condition at both the adjacent walls. The condition of the air flow between the rotating journal and top foil in the air foil bearing is determined by the rotating speed and load, and the Knudsen number is also varied by those values. Because the molecular mean free path is variable to the pressure and temperature, more exact formulation is necessary to understand and analyze the flow regime. In this study, the analysis considering Knudsen number formulated with those variables (pressure, temperature and mm thickness) was executed. The approximate value was examined using the equation to confirm whether the flow has the slip or no-slip boundary condition. From the analytic investigation, it was decided to range approximately 0.01 to 1.0 and the flow can be supposed to have the slip boundary condition. Under the condition of the slip flow, the static characteristics of the air foil bearing were examined using modified Reynolds equations. The results were compared with those considering no slip condition. It shows that the slip condition makes the flow decelerates and the load carrying capacity decreases compared with no slip condition. And as the bearing number and eccentricity ratio increase, the load carrying capacity also increased at both the cases. From this result, it can be supposed that the bearing torque also increases. In the analysis of the dynamic characteristics, the perturbed Knudsen number was taken into consideration. Because the Knudsen number is expressed as the terms of each variable, the perturbed equation can be simply derived. The results of both cases considering and not considering Knudsen number were compared each other. In the case of the direct terms of the stiffness and damping coefficients, the difference between both cases was little and increased as the bearing number and eccentricity ratio increased. And the cross terms have less or more differences.
