This study is about the creation of a character art using the free association. Character in proposed artwork induces the viewer's unconscious experience associated with it and creates new meanings to invigorate the character. When a character that performs both a linguistic function and a visual image function goes through a free association process, the viewer can induce interest and convey the meaning of the character more effectively. We proposed two ways to express the dynamic movement of the character more actively. One is drawing using various colors and free lines, and the other is the movement of the character synchronized with the gesture of the viewer. As a result of implementing dynamic character art, we can see that the viewer was actively involved in the free association process and immersed in the artwork. The viewers participated in the creation of the artwork, changing the shape of the character according to their various gestures.
This paper implements Multiple User Authentication System to which the system authenticating with password only has been upgraded. The 4-staged authentication including user ID, password, smart card and access control information, etc. is used at the suggested Multiple User Authentication System. The user authentication system that this paper suggests has been developed based on SecuROS/FreeBSD with the function of access control added to FreeBSD kernel. It provides both the function to limit accost range to the system to each user and the function to check that when inputting important information the demand is the one if the system ; thus, the reliability becomes increased. In the SecuROS/FreeBSD system, MAC and RBAC are being used. So, in the case of users accessing to the system, the Information about the policies of MAC and RBAC to which users would access is used in the authentication. At the time, the access to system if permitted only when the access control information that users demanded satisfies all the access control rules which have been defined In the system.
This paper is a continuation of the recent development on the hermite-based divergence free basis function and deals with a non-isothermal fluid flow thru the buoyancy driven flow in a square cavity with temperature difference across the two sides. The basis functions for the velocities consist of the hermite function and its curl. However, the basis for the temperature are the hermite function and its gradienst. Hence, the number of degrees of freedom at a node becomes 6, which are the stream function, two velocities, the temperature and its x- and y-derivatives. Numerical results for the streamlines, the temperatures, the x-velocities and the y-velocities show good agreements with those of De vahl Davis[7].
Penalized-likelihood (PL) reconstruction methods for transmission tomography are known to provide improved image quality for reduced dose level by efficiently smoothing out noise while preserving edges. Unfortunately, however, most of the edge-preserving penalty functions used in conventional PL methods contain at least one free parameter which controls the shape of a non-quadratic penalty function to adjust the sensitivity of edge preservation. In this work, to avoid difficulties in finding a proper value of the free parameter involved in a non-quadratic penalty function, we propose a new adaptive method of space-variant smoothing with a simple quadratic penalty function. In this method, the smoothing parameter is adaptively selected for each pixel location at each iteration by using the image roughness measured by a pixel-wise standard deviation image calculated from the previous iteration. The experimental results demonstrate that our new method not only preserves edges, but also suppresses noise well in monotonic regions without requiring additional processes to select free parameters that may otherwise be included in a non-quadratic penalty function.
This paper evaluates performances of a recently developed divergence-free finite element method based on Hermite interpolated stream functions. Velocity bases are derived from Hermite interpolated stream functions to form divergence-free basis functions. These velocity basis functions constitute a solenoidal function space, and the simple gradient of the Hermite functions constitute an irrotational function space. The incompressible Navier-Stokes equation is orthogonally decomposed into a solenoidal and an irrotational parts, and the decoupled Navier-Stokes equations are projected onto their corresponding spaces to form proper variational formulations. To access accuracy and convergence of the present algorithm, three test problems are selected. They are lid-driven cavity flow, flow over a backward-facing step and buoyancy-driven flow within a square enclosure. Hermite interpolation functions from cubic to quintic are chosen to run the test problems. Numerical results are shown. In all cases it has shown that the present method has performed well in accuracies and convergences. Moreover, the present method does not require an upwinding or a stabilized term.

In this paper, we consider feedback-linearizing control of VR (Variable Reluctance) motors which have been increasingly used in high performance direct-drive applications. We characterize all torque controllers that can make the generated torque of a VR motor linear to torque command but without torque ripple. The torque controlles maximize the range of torque commands which are admissible under the physical limitation in stator currents. The whole class of all such torque controllers is parameterized in the explicit form which contains a function to be chosen freely. This free function can be used to achieve other control objectives as well as linear dynamic characteristics. As the examples for optimal choices of the free function, we actually determine two optimal free functions, one for minimal rate of change in current commands and the other for minimal power loss due to stator resistance. To illuminate further the practical use of torque controllers proposed in this paper, we present some experimental results for the case of a commercially available VR motor.

Multi-Valued(MV) sequential logic circuits are proposed which are free from HAZARD. In this paper, HAZARD is classified Function and Logic HAZARD, and MV switching function in which they are eliminated is described. Also, the basic MV memory elements which can be realized without HAZARD are presented, so that suggest the realizability in the large-scale MV logic system based on these elements.

An improved boundary element method is presented for numerical analysis of hydrodynamic behavior of marine structures. A new algorithm for numerical solution of the finite depth free-surface Green function in three dimensions is developed based on multiple series representations. The whole range of the key parameter R/h is divided into four regions, within which different representation is used to achieve fast convergence. The well-known epsilon algorithm is also adopted to accelerate the convergence. The critical convergence criteria for each representation are investigated and provided. The proposed method is validated by several well-documented benchmark problems.
Discrete space vector modulation (DSVM) is an effective method to improve the steady-state performance of the finite control set predictive control for permanent magnet synchronous motor drive systems. However, it requires complex computations due to the presence of numerous virtual voltage vectors. This paper proposes an improved finite control set model-free predictive control using DSVM to reduce the computational burden. First, model-free deadbeat current control is used to generate the reference voltage vector. Then, based on the principle that the voltage vector closest to the reference voltage vector minimizes the cost function, the optimal voltage vector is obtained in an effective way which avoids evaluation of the cost function. Additionally, in order to implement double-objective control, a two-level decisional cost function is designed to sequentially reduce the stator currents tracking error and the inverter switching frequency. The effectiveness of the proposed control is validated based on experimental tests.
Free Vibration Analysis using Non-dimensional Dynamic Influence Function (NDIF) is extended to arbitrarily shaped plates including polygonal plates. Since the corners of polygonal plates have indefinite normal directions and additional boundary conditions related to a twisting moment at a corner along with moment and shear force zero conditions, it is not easy to apply the NDIF method to polygonal plates wi th the free boundary condition. Moreover, owing to the fact that the local polar coordinate system, which has been introduced for free plates with smoothly varying edges, cannot be employed for the straight edges of the polygonal plates, a new coordinate system is required for the polygonal plates. These problems are solved by developing the new method of modifying a corner into a circular arc and setting the normal direction at the corner to an average value of normal direct ions of two edges adjacent to the corner. Some case studies for plates with various shapes show that the proposed method gives credible natural frequencies and mode shapes for various polygons that agree well with those by an exact method or FEM (ANSYS).
