제트 확산화염구조에 대한 FDS 연소모델의 예측성능 비교 연구 (A Comparison Study of the Prediction Performance of FDS Combustion Model for the Jet Diffusion Flame Structure)

  • A prediction performance of Fire Dynamics Simulator(FDS) developed by NIST for the diffusion flame structure was validated with experimental results of a laminar slot jet diffusion flame. Two mixture fraction combustion models and two finite chemistry combustion models were used in the FDS simulation for the validation of the jet diffusion flame structure. In order to enhance the prediction performance of flame structure, DNS and radiation model was applied to the simulation. The reaction rates of the finite chemistry combustion models were appropriately adjusted to the diffusion flame. The mixture fraction combustion model predicted the diffusion flame structure reasonably. A 1-step finite chemistry combustion model cannot predict the flame structure well, but the simulation results of a 2-step model were in good agreement with those of experiment except $CO_2$ concentration. It was identified that the 2-step model can be used in the investigation of flame suppression limit with further adjustment of reaction rates

골조직과 임플랜트 계면의 최소접촉분율에 관한 삼차원 유한요소분석적 연구 (THREE DIMENSIONAL FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS ON THE MINIMUM CONTACT FRACTION OF BONE-IMPLANT INTERFACE)

  • In order to find the degree of osseointegration at bone-implant interface of clinically successful implants, models including the 3.75mm wide, 10mm long screw type $Br{\aa}nemark$ implant as a standard and cylinder, 15mm long, 5.0mm wide, two splinted implants, and implants installed in various cancellous bone density were designed. Also, the amount of load and material of prostheses were changed. The stress and minimum contact fraction were analyzed on each model using three-dimensional finite element method(I-DEAS and ABAQUS version 5.5). The results of this study were as follows. 1. 10mm long, 3.75mm diameter-screw type implant had $36.5{\sim}43.7%$ of minimum contact fraction. 2. Cylinder type implant showed inferior stress distribution and higher minimum contact fraction than screw type. 3. As implant length was increased, minimum contact fraction was increased a little, however, maximum principal stress was decreased. 4. Implants with a large diameter had lower stress value with slightly higher minimum contact fraction than standard screw type. 5. Two splinted implants showed no change of minimum contact fraction. 6. The higher bone density, the lower stress value. 7. The material of occlusal surface had no effect on the stress of the bone-implant interface.

한국, 일본, 싱가포르, 미국, 핀란드의 수학 교과서에 제시된 분수 지도 내용의 비교·분석 (A Comparative analysis on the Fraction Contents of Korean, Japanese, Singaporean, American, and Finnish Mathematics Textbooks)

  • 본 연구에서는 초등학교 수학에서 다루어지는 중요 개념 중 하나인 분수에 대하여 한국, 일본, 싱가포르, 미국, 핀란드 교과서에 제시된 내용을 비교 분석하였다. 이것은 분수의 하위 개념의 다양함, 그리고 도입 방식이나 전개 과정의 특징적 차이가 나타난다는 것과 각 나라의 개념 도입 방식의 장점과 단점을 분석함으로써 유의미한 분수 학습을 위한 준비를 위해서이다. 분석 결과, 분수 도입 상황은 5개 나라 교과서 모두 부분-전체(영역)로 도입하였지만, 수직선 활용이나 대분수 정의와 가분수-대분수 간의 변환 방식, 이산량을 다루는 것의 여부, 동치분수 구하는 방법, 분수 크기비교의 배열 순서와 같은 내용의 구성이나 선정 면에서 여러 가지 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 분석을 통해 본 연구에서는 분수 도입상황의 재고, 분수 도입 시 수직선의 활용 문제, 내용의 유형화와 분절화의 문제 등을 논의하였다.

두께방향 섬유체적비 불균일이 원통형 복합재 격자 구조의 비틀림 좌굴 하중에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Fiber Volume Fraction Non-uniformity through Thickness Direction on the Torsional Buckling Load of Cylindrical Composite Lattice Structure)

  • 원통형 복합재 격자 구조는 필라멘트 와인딩 공법으로 제작되며 제작 공정에서 두께방향 섬유체적비 불균일이 발생할 수 있다. 섬유체적비 불균일은 구조의 강성에 영향을 미칠 수 있으며 강성 및 좌굴 특성이 변화할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 두께방향 섬유체적비 불균일이 복합재 격자 구조의 비틀림 좌굴 하중에 미치는 영향에 대하여 분석하였다. 섬유체적비 변화에 의한 강성 변화를 유한요소 모델에 적용하였고 비틀림 하중을 가한 뒤 좌굴 해석을 수행하였다. 두께방향 섬유체적비 편차에 따른 좌굴 하중을 비교하였다. 섬유체적비 불균일에 의해 비틀림 좌굴 하중이 저하될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

나노 유체(Nanofluids)의 열전도도 (Thermal Conductivities of Nanofluids)

  • Nanofluids have anomalously high thermal conductivities at very low fraction, strongly temperature-dependent and size-dependent conductivities, and three-fold higher critical heat flux than that of base fluids. Traditional conductivity theories such as the Maxwell or other macroscale approaches cannot explain why nanofluids have these intriguing features. So in this paper, we devise a theoretical model that accounts for the fundamental role of dynamic nanoparticles in nanofluids. The proposed model not only captures the concentration and temperature-dependent conductivity, but also predicts strongly size-dependent conductivity. Furthermore, we physically explain the new phenomena for nanofluids. In addition, based on a proposed model, the effects of various parameters such as the ratio of thermal conductivity of nanofluids to that of a base fluid, volume fraction, nanoparticle size, and temperature on the thermal conductivities of nanofluids are investigated.

Sorption and desoption behaviors of PAHs in soil and sediments

  • Batch experiments were conducted to investigate the sorption and desorption behaviors of PAHs (naphthalene, phenanthrene and pyrene) in soils. Three different soils montmorillonite KSF (foc =0.14%), masato (foc =0.08%), and diatomite (foc =0.007%) were investigated. The results of sorption-desorption experiment indicate that the sorption affinity of PAHs was in the order of montmorillonite > masato > diatomite. The Freundlich model was well fitted to the sorption and desorption data. Sorption affinity increased as loc increased. Desorption of PAHs from soils was biphasic composed of reversible and irreversible compartments. Desorption-resistance of phenanthrene in soils was also determined. The biphasic desorption model was used to explain desorption-resistance of phenanthrene in soils. The linear term represents reversible sorption fraction and Langmuinian-type term represents desorption-resistant fraction.

  • This paper presents a single-echelon, single item, stochastic lead time and static demand inventory model for situations in which, during the stockout period, a fraction ${\beta}$ of the demand is backordered and the remaining fraction $(1-{\beta})$ is lost. In this situations, an objective function representing the average annual cost of inventory system is obtained by defining a time-proportional backorder cost and a fixed penalty cost per unit lost. The optimal operating policy variables minimizing the average annual cost are calculated iteratively. At the extremet ${\beta}=1$, the model presented reduces to the usual backorder case. A numerical example is solved to illustrate the algorithm developed.

Gurson모델을 사용한 전자기성형의 성형성 개선에 대한 연구 (Study on Formability Enhancement of Electromagnetic Forming using Gurson Plasticity Material Model)

  • The effect of the tool-sheet interaction on formability enhancement in electromagnetic forming is investigated using FEM. A free bulging and a conical forming die with 0.7mm AL1050 sheet are used to evaluate damage evolution based on Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman plasticity material model. The impact between the tool and sheet results in complex stress states including compressive hydrostatic stresses, which leads to a suppression of void growth and restrain ascending void volume fraction of the sheet. Therefore, the damage suppression due to the tool-sheet interaction can be the main factor contributing to the increased formability in the electromagnetic forming process.

기-액 2상유동에 따른 원심펌프 성능변화에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Performance of a Centrifugal Pump with Two-Phase Flow)

  • In this study, experimental and numerical analyses are carried out to investigate the performance of centrifugal pump with various air admitting conditions. Experiments on the pump performance under air-water two-phase flow are accomplished using a centrifugal pump with semi-open type impeller having three, five and seven blades, respectively. Also, the numerical analysis of turbulent air-water two-phase flow using the finite volume method has been carried out to obtain the pressure, velocities and void fraction on the basis of a so-called bubbly flow model with the constant size and shape of cavity. The results obtained through this study show the reasonable agreements within the range of bubbly flow regime. There are promising developments concerning application of the present study for the flow in a centrifugal pump with two-phase flow conditions and efforts must be followed to improve the turbulence model and two-phase flow model for turbomachinery.

CMC model에 의한 near-extinction methane/air turbulent jet diffusion flame의 수치적 모사 (Numerical Study on Methane/Air Turbulent Jet Diffusion Flames Near-Extinction Using Conditional Moment Closure Model)

  • The first-order conditional moment closure (CMC) model is applied to $CH_4$/Air turbulent jet diffusion flames(Sandia Flame D, E and F). The flow and mixing fields are calculated by fast chemistry assumption and a beta function pdf for mixture fraction. Reacting scalar fields are calculated by elliptic CMC formulation. The results for Flame D show reasonable agreement with the measured conditional mean temperature and mass fractions of major species, although with discrepancy on the fuel rich side. The discrepancy tends to increase as the level of local extinction increases. Second-order CMC may be needed for better prediction of these near-extinction flames.
