  • For having good therapeutic value, putting the ideal of diagnosis and treatment based on overall analysis of symptoms and signs[辨證施治] into practice is very important, so the Eastern Medicine's peculiar diagnosis without interference by the western medical diagnosis is very important. The peculiar method of Eastern Medicine's diagnosis is four methods of diagnosis(四診法), a joint term for inspection, auscultation and olfaction, interrogation, pulse feeling and palpation. In the process of interrogation[問診], from analyzing the perspiration phase, doctor can get various physical information. Especially perspiration from particular region can be a clue for founding focus or cause of disease. This thesis divide the phase of perspiration into eight bodily region, perspiration from all body, head, face, back, chest and armpit, stomach, pubic region and lower part, hands and feet, and inquire the possible causes and principles of these perspirations. In conclusion, the regional perspiration can be a clue point out the origin of fever and condition of Gi(氣) flow. Perspiration from head, back, chest and armpit, hands and feet means that certain fever cannot extend to the outside of body, and at the same time, means the Gi(氣) flow of outside is being intercepted. So the perspirations from that region become an object of medical treatment.

  • A two-dimensional numerical model. using finite element method. was applied to calculation of the tides and tidal currents of four major tidal constituents($M_2, ;S_2, ;K_1, ;O_1$) in the southern part of the East Sea. The model results were compared with the observed data and with the existing tidal charts. and the computed results showed good agreement with the observation. As a result, the detailed tidal charts for four major tidal constituents and the tidal current ellipses of the M$_2$and $K_1$tides were produced respectively. The results indicate that the amphidromic point of diurnal tide locates near Korean coastal lines closer than that of the chart drawn by Nishida(1980).

  • How to plan the energy system is one of the keys f3r constructing the Environment -Friendly City. for this reason, a great number of surveys for utilizing unused energy have conducted by a planner. In regard to unused energy, the heat from incineration plants classify as a unused energy having high-exergy-energy. From this point of view, It is studied about the plant systems providing heat to district heating & cooling(D.H.C) and producing electric power. It is divided four system models as system I (10K [kgf/cm$^2$) vapor as outlet of boiler, supply far 10K vapor and return to 60$^{\circ}C$ as supply condition of district heating), system II (30 K vapor as outlet of boiler, supply for 5t vapor and return to 60f as supply condition of district heating), system 111 (30 K vapor as outlet of boiler, supply for 85$^{\circ}C$ hot water and return to 60$^{\circ}C$ as supply condition of district heating), system IV (30 K vapor as outlet of boiler, supply for 47$^{\circ}C$ hot water and return to 40t as supply condition of district heating). The results from the upper condition of four system, System II got a proper on economical benefits and system IV calculated as benefiting on energy saving effects, and suggest indifference curve as the total evaluation method of both economical benefits and energy saving.

  • This paper presents the improved zero power levitation control algorithm for a quadruple hybrid EMS (Electromagnetic Suspension) system. Quadruple hybrid EMS system is a united form of four hybrid EMS systems one on each corner coupled with a metal plate. Technical issue in controlling a quadruple hybrid EMS system is the permanent magnet's equilibrium point deviation caused by design tolerance which eventually leads to a limited zero power levitation control that only satisfies the zero power levitation in one or two hybrid EMS system among the four hybrid EMS system. In order to satisfy a complete zero power levitation control of the quadruple hybrid EMS system, the proposed method presented in this paper adds a compensating algorithm which adjusts the gap reference of each individual axe. Later, this paper proves the stability and effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm via experiment and disturbance test.

  • Handles on objects are very important to increase the safety and efficiency of manual handling of people who use them. In this study, four different prototype cartons combined with auxiliary handles were designed to determine the optimal handle position of cartons through the evaluation of user preferences. Twenty male students are participated in the experiment. Likert-5 point summated rating method was applied to evaluate the user preferences for provided handles of the carton among upper, middle, and lower position under the four different sizes and materials handling conditions(carrying positions). The results show that the subjects preferred upper part of the handle on the small cartons regardless of the carrying positions while upper and middle parts of the handle on the big cartons for handling above the waist height were preferred. An optimal handle position depending on the different sizes of carton and the different carrying positions were recommended based on the results of evaluation. It is thus recommended that the cartons provide handles on its relevant position depending on the size and materials handling condition to reduce the musculoskeletal stress and in turn to increase the user satisfaction.
