The economic development of most countries in the world has negatively impacted fossil energy resources. Fossil energy sources such as petroleum and coal are increasingly depleted. When energy sources are exhausted, renewable energy sources are growing strongly. Renewable energy development can help to replace diminishing fossil fuels. Furthermore, the usage of renewable energy can contribute to a green economy and sustainable development by protecting the environment. Solar power on the roof is one of the many renewable energy sources available. But at present, the investment in roof voltage systems has not developed strongly in Vietnam. This paper uses the SEM model to evaluate the factors affecting investment in rooftop solar power in some provinces of Vietnam. The article uses the household interview method. The article has given 8 factors affecting the decision to invest in rooftop solar power for households. Research results show that most of the factor variables have a positive impact on the decision to invest in rooftop solar power. Based on assessing the factors affecting the decision to invest in rooftop solar power, the article will provide conclusions and policy suggestions to increase investment in rooftop solar power in Vietnam.
A total of 64 specimens of trace fossils were collected from the Jinju Formation of the construction site of Jinju Aviation Industrial Complex, and from the Haman Formation of Namhae Gain-ri fossil site. The fossils are continuously and regularly meandering sine-curve in shape. The fossil varies in morphology: width between 0.2 and 5.6 mm, wavelength between 1.5 and 28 mm, and amplitude between 0.9 and 7.9 mm; the Jinju specimens are commonly wider than the Haman ones. The ratio of wavelength to amplitude is more or less regular regardless of width of the specimen, and the linear correlation of the ratios shows that the Jinju specimens fit better than the Haman specimens. Taking all morphometric parameters, specimens in all size ranges are temporarily identified as ichnospecies Cochlichnus anguineus. In order to obtain more distinct and clearer images of Cochlichnus, we selected two specimens and applied a new imaging technology RTI. For photography of the trace fossils, 50 to 80 images were taken per set with photometric lighting close to the surface and horizontally. RTI technology clearly showed that the images of tiny fossils were improved: the surface contrast become sharper and messy and unnecessary information disappeared. Currently, RTI technology is used in many fields including preservation of cultural properties and archaeology. As a consequence, we hope to apply this technique to the field of paleontology, especially to the study of trace fossils of very small size.

The continuous development of science and technology since the Industrial Revolution and the development of human civilization are based on the use of fossil fuels. However, the use of fossil fuels is increasing the greenhouse gas, the main cause of global warming, and global warming is an extreme climate anomaly that is rapidly increasing human and material damage. Therefore, efforts are being made worldwide to return greenhouse gases to pre-industrial levels. In Korea, 2050 carbon neutrality has been set as a major policy and efforts are being made to curb carbon emissions in the overall industry. Carbon emission suppression is based on the minimization of fossil fuel use, and research and development are underway on building a zero-emission house that minimizes the energy used in buildings in the construction field. Therefore, in this study, as part of the zero-emissions water system construction, waste resources generated at industrial sites were utilized and an integrated lightweight concrete solar panel grafted with a concrete lightweight panel and solar panel was manufactured and the possibility of its use was evaluated.

Scooters are a popular way to get around on your own in many places, such as Taiwan, India, Thailand, etc., because they are easy to move around in, small, and cheaper to buy than cars. On the other hand, traditional scooters that run on fossil fuels put some pollution into the air and add to problems like global warming and air pollution. Switching from scooters that run on fossil fuels to electric scooters can help clean up the air in cities with much pollution. To promote the use of electric scooters, it's important to know how consumers feel about them. The current study investigates consumers' purchase intentions for electric scooters. Based on the questionnaire survey results (n = 567), we found that consumers' environmental concerns, price consciousness, and perceived subjective norms are associated with electric scooter purchase intention. Consumers with price consciousness may choose fossil-fuel-powered scooters because they consider electric-powered scooters more costly, although environmentally friendly. The study gives researchers and practitioners a glimpse into consumers' environmental concerns and subjective norms for a sustainable product.

For the conversion of domestic waste-wood into energy, a fixed bed gasifier ($0.9 m{\times}2.4 m$) having the capacity of 2 ton/day was designed and constructed. The dual knife valve was used to feed waste-wood of which size was 3~5 cm and a rotary stoker system was installed in the bottom of gasifier. The pilot gasification system consisted of feeding system, fixed bed gasifier, gravity fine particle collector, heat exchanger for syngas cooling, ID fan, and cooling tower. The operation temperatures of gasifier were $700{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$ and the concentrations of syngas were CO: 25~40 vol%, $H_2$: 7~12 vol%, $CH_4$: 2~4 vol%, $CO_2$: 12~24 vol%. The calorific value of syngas was $1100{\sim}1500kcal/Nm^3$ and was enough to be applied in the industrial combustor. Also the gas engine was operated by using syngas from biomass gasifier and produced 1~4 kW of power.
The use of forest biomass resources produced by forest tending and residual forest biomass that was not gathered on commercial thinning or cutting area was estimated to be come into the spotlight as bioenergy sources in these days of new high oil price. With considering these problems, This study was investigated about possibility with biomass calculation and convertibility to fossil fuel in these area. Total forest tending area in the year 2005 was 294, 115 ha and the yield gathered from these area was $143,747m^3$. It is equivalent to biomass of 115,000 ton and caloric value of 533,199Gcal. However, the potential and additional yield that is residual in forest stands was 2,483,000 ton. It is equivalent to 11,133 billion won of oil which is 20 times of the actual yield produced by forest tending. Therefore, these amount of biomass has a substitution effect of the fossil fuel. Moreover, the residual biomass that is not gathered at commercial thinning and cutting area was 475,000 ton. It is equivalent to 2,206,235 Gcal of heating value and about 2,211 billion won of oil. This potential amount could be a new energy source to be a substitution effect of fossil fuel. It is time to be interested in the forest biomass as a renewable and environment-friendly resource and its substitution effect of fossil fuel.
The increase of greenhouse gases and the concern of global warming instigate the development and spread of renewable energy and hydrogen is considered one of the clean energy sources. Hydrogen is one of the most elements in the earth and exist in the form of fossil fuel, biomass and water. In order to use hydrogen for a clean energy source, the hydrogen production method should be eco-friendly and economic as well. There are two different hydrogen production methods: conventional thermal method using fossil fuel and renewable method using biomass and water. Steam reforming, autothermal reforming, partial oxidation, and gasification (using solid fuel) have been considered for hydrogen production from fossil fuel. When using fossil fuel, carbon dioxide should be separated from hydrogen and captured to be accepted as a clean energy. The amount of hydrogen from biomass is insignificant. In order to occupy noticeable portion in hydrogen industries, biomass conversion, especially, biological method should be sufficiently improved in a process efficiency and a microorganism cultivation. Electrolysis is a mature technology and hydrogen from water is considered the most eco-friendly method in terms of clean energy when the electric power is from renewable sources such as photovoltaic cell, solar heat, and wind power etc.
There is general agreement that global warming is occurring and that the main contributor to this probably is the buildup of green house gasses, GHG, in the atmosphere. Two main contributors are the utilization of fossil fuels and the deforestation of many regions of the world. The burning of fossil fuels increases atmospheric carbon while the burning of fuel-wood reducing fossil fuel consumption along with its forest source maintain an atmospheric carbon level. The standing timber in the forests is a carbon sink, as are wood buildings and structures, and fossil fuel in the ground. This paper is designed to examine a number of current issues related to mitigating the global warming problem through forestry. For this purpose, we develop a modeling approach by integrating timber market, fossil fuel market and carbon cycling model. We use discrete time optimal control theory to identify optimal time paths, the laws of motion, and stationary stats solutions of endogenous variables in the model. On the basis of these results, we identify the optimal amounts of subsidies to be provided or taxes to be imposed by the regulatory agency to mitigate atmospheric carbon accumulation. We also present a numerical example to help illustrate the characteristics of variables in the model when the social cost for atmospheric carbon incrementally shifts upward. A surprising result is that the social cost function for atmospheric carbon has a very smaller impact on the optimal rotation period than previous literature suggested.
As the power plant industry has been changed into competition structure, power generation companies do more with less by increasing capacity and lowering operation costs. In order to achieve this goals, an on-line real-time performance monitoring system has been needed to introduced to fossil power plant. The system represents a suite of related software modules which consist of on-line data, and on-line performance modules. This system can help the plant staff get the most out of their facilities by continuously monitoring deviations in equipment performance and the impact on those deviations on plant power, heat rate and operating cost. This paper shows the comparison of design value with acceptance test and current(measured) value.
