In this paper we consider the problem of identifying and testing outliers in linear regression. First we consider the use of the so-called scale ratio tests for testing the null hypothesis of no outliers. This test is based on the ratio of two residual scale estimates. We show the asymptotic distribution of the test statistics and investigate its properties. Next we consider the problem of identifying the outliers. A forward sequential procedure using the suggested test is proposed. The new method is compared with classical procedure in the real data example. Unlike other forward procedures, the present one is unaffected by masking and swamping effects because the test statistic is based on robust scale estimate.
P2P systems have gained a lot of research interests and popularity over the years and have the capability to unleash and distribute awesome amounts of computing power, storage and bandwidths currently languishing - often underutilized - within corporate enterprises and every Internet connected home in the world. Since there is no central control over resources or devices and no before hand information about the resources or devices, device discovery remains a substantial problem in P2P environment. In this paper, we cover some of the current solutions to this problem and then propose our feed forward neural network (FFNN) based solution for device discovery in mobile P2P environment. We implements feed forward neural network (FFNN) trained with back propagation (BP) algorithm for device discovery and show, how large computation task can be distributed among such devices using agent technology. It also shows the possibility to use our architecture in home networking where devices have less storage capacity.

An excitation table is commonly used for vibration and ride tests for parts or assemblies of automobiles, aircrafts, or other heavy systems. The authors have analyzed several kinematic properties of an excitation table that is under development for heavy transport vehicles. It consists of one table and 7 linear hydraulic actuators. The authors have performed mobility analysis, inverse kinematics, forward kinematics, and singularity analysis. Especially, we have proposed a fast forward kinematic solution considering the limited motion of the excitation table. On the assumption that the motion variables such as rotation angles and displacements are small, the forward kinematic problem is converted to the observer problem of a linear system. This provides a fast solution. Also we have verified that there are no singularity points in the working range by numerical analysis.
As in the other fields of mechanics, analytical methods represent an important analysis tool in marine hydrodynamics. The analytical approach is interesting for different reasons : it gives reference results for numerical codes verification, it gives physical insight into some complicated problems, it can be used as a simplified predesign tool, etc. This approach is of course limited to some simplified geometries (cylinders, spheres, ...), and only the case of one or more cylinders, truncated or not, will be considered here. Presented methods are basically eigenfunction expansions whose complexity depends on the boundary conditions. The hydrodynamic boundary value problem (BVP) is formulated within the usual assumptions of potential flow and is additionally simplified by the perturbation method. By using this approach, the highly nonlinear problem decomposes into its linear part and the higher order (second, third, ...) corrections. Also, periodicity is assumed so that the time dependence can be factorized i.e. the frequency domain formulation is adopted. As far as free surface flows are concerned, only cases without or with small forward speed are sufficiently simple to be solved semi-analytically. The problem of the floating body advancing in waves with arbitrary forward speed is far more complicated. These remarks are also valid for the general numerical methods where the case of arbitrary forward speed, even linearized, is still too difficult from numerical point of view, and "it is fair to say that there exists at present no general practical numerical method for the wave resistance problem" [9], and even less for the general seakeeping problem. We note also that, in the case of bluff bodies like cylinders, the assumptions of the potential flow are justified only if the forward speed is less than the product of wave amplitude with wave frequency.

At the initial stage of propulsion shaft design, in line with shaft alignment, an intensified consideration of lateral vibration is needed to verify its operational safety. Recently the alignment problem affecting the lateral vibration has been becoming issues. However, the theoretical method of forced lateral vibration analysis is not cleary established so far and it is about to simply limited among the classification societies and international standards to avoid the blade natural frequency resonance cpm outside of ${\pm}20%$ of engine rpm at MCR. On the other hand, longer center distance between each support bearing shows an affirmative result normally in shaft alignment analysis whereas the blade order resonance speed may cause lowering near the limitation in the aspect of lateral vibration. Therefore, it is required careful attention to engineers as described above. As a method to solve the problem, it is mainly considered that remove forward stern tube bearing. In this paper, based on a medium size container ship case, theoretical study was carried out in the context of the forward stern tube bearing. The various effects and functions of forward stern tube bearing are reviewed and evaluated. Then an guidance note to lead the conclusion is proposed.

The Casing Oscillator is a bore file Equipment for the all-casing process. All-casing process is a method of foundation work in construction yard to oscillate steel Casing in the ground. The existing Casing Oscillator has some problem like not boring horizontally with disturbance and not driving Casing othor angle except horizon. To solve problem, the new structure Casing Oscillator is presented and studied. The performance of Casing Oscillator is improved by kinematics analysis. The Casing Oscillator is similar to the parallel manipulator in structure. So we obtain Inverse kinematics solution of Casing Oscillator easily. But it is difficult to solve forward kinematics of Casing Oscillator. T his paper presents a novel pose description corresponding to the structure characteristics of parallel manipulators. Through analysis on geometry theory, we obtain a new method of the closed-form solution to the forward kinematics using Kinematic Inversion. The closed-form solution contains two different meanings -analytical and real-time. So we reach the goal of practical application and control. Closed-form forward kinematics solution is verified by an inverse kinematics analysis. It shows that the method has a practical value for real -time control and inverse kinematics servo control.

The manipulability analysis of the parallel-type rolling mill proposed in Hong et al. [1] is re-visited. The parallel rolling mill uses two Stewart platforms in opposite direction for the generation of 6 degree-of-freedom motions of each roll. The objective of this new parallel rolling mill is to permit an integrated control of the strip thickness, strip shape, pair crossing angle, uniform wear of rolls, and tension of the strip. New forward/inverse kinematics problems, in contrast with [1], are formulated. The forward kinematics problem is defined as the problem of finding the roll-gap and the pair-crossing angle of two work rolls for given lengths of twelve legs. On the other hand, the inverse kinematics problem is defined as the problem of finding the lengths of twelve legs when the roll-gap, the pair-crossing angle, and the position and orientation of one work roll are given. The method of manipulability analysis used in this paper follows the spirit of [1]. But, because the rolling force and moment exerted from both upper and lower rolls have been included in the manipulability analysis, more accurate results than the use of a single platform can be achieved. Two. kinematic parameters, the radius of the base and the angle between two neighboring joints, are optimally designed by maximizing the global manipulability measure in the entire workspace.

A conventional sequence search algorithm for PRI analysis occurs the harmonic problem under missing pulses. An improved PRI analysis algorithm is proposedto remedy the harmonic problem. After dividing an overall PRI range into subbands withoug harmonic, a sequence search is done into forward and backward in time. The proposed algorithm increases the preformance compared with that of conventional sequence search algorithm.

In this paper, we propose a system that accurately and efficiently determines forward head posture based on network learning by analyzing the user's skeletal posture. Forward head posture syndrome is a condition in which the forward head posture is changed by keeping the neck in a bent forward position for a long time, causing pain in the back, shoulders, and lower back, and it is known that daily posture habits are more effective than surgery or drug treatment. Existing methods use convolutional neural networks using webcams, and these approaches are affected by the brightness, lighting, skin color, etc. of the image, so there is a problem that they are only performed for a specific person. To alleviate this problem, this paper extracts the skeleton from the image and learns the data corresponding to the side rather than the frontal view to find the forward head posture more efficiently and accurately than the previous method. The results show that the accuracy is improved in various experimental scenes compared to the previous method.

This study intended to find the differences between expert's and novice's thinking processes when they solve physics problems. Five physics professors and twenty sophomore students in a physics department were participated in the study. The researcher investigated their thinking processes in solving three physics problems on NEWTON's law of motion. The researcher accepted so called "Thinking Aloud" method. The thinking processes were recorded and transfered into protocols. The protocols were analysised by problem solving process coding system which was developed by the researcher on the basis of Larkin's problem solving process model. The results were as follows: (1) There was no difference of time required in solving physics problem of low difficulty between expert and novices; but, it takes 1.5 times longer for novices than experts in solving physics problems which difficulties are high and average. (2) Novices used working forward strategy and working backward strategy at the similiar rate in solving physics problems which difficulties were average and low. while Novices mo mostly used working backward strategy in solving physic problems which difficulty was high. Experts mostly used working forward strategy in solving physics problems whose difficulties was average and low, however experts used working forward strategy and working backward strategy at the similiar rate in solving physics problem which difficulty was high. (3) Novices usually wrote only a few information on the diagram of figure they drawn, on the other hand experts usually wrote almost all the information which are necessary for solving the problems. (4) Experts spent much time in understand the problem and evaluation stage than novices did, however experts spent less time in plan stage than novices did. (5) Physics problems are solved in sequence of understanding the problem, plan, carrying out the plan, and evaluation steps regardless of problem difficulty.
