아날로그 PRML 디코더를 위한 아날로그 병렬처리 회로의 전향 차동 구조 (Feed forward Differential Architecture of Analog Parallel Processing Circuits for Analog PRML Decoder)

  • A feed forward differential architecture of analog PRML decoder is investigated to implement on analog parallel processing circuits. The conventional PRML decoder performs the trellis processing with the implementation of single stage in digital and its repeated use. The analog parallel processing-based PRML comes from the idea that the decoding of PRML is done mainly with the information of the first several number of stages. Shortening the trellis processing stages but implementing it with analog parallel circuits, several benefits including higher speed, no memory requirement and no A/D converter requirement are obtained. Most of the conventional analog parallel processing-based PRML decoders are differential architecture with the feedback of the previous decoded data. The architecture used in this paper is without feedback, where error metric accumulation is allowed to start from all the states of the decoding stage, which enables to be decoded without feedback. The circuit of the proposed architecture is simpler than that of the conventional analog parallel processing structure with the similar decoding performance. Characteristics of the feed forward differential architecture are investigated through various simulation studies.

  • 본 논문은 실제적인 변압기 운전환경에서 변화하는 승압형 인덕턴스를 실시간으로 추정하여 그 값을 통해 이득값을 계산하는 전향제어기를 제안하였다. 승압형 인덕턴스는 입력 전류의 변화분과 입력 교류 전압의 측정치만을 이용하여 추정되고, 그 값은 최소자승법을 적용하여 최적화 된다. 제안된 전향제어기는 변압기 운전 환경의 변화에도 강인한 제어가 가능하며, 입력 전류의 고조파 성분을 감소시켜 간섭현상에 따른 성능 저하를 최소화 할 수 있다. 제안된 기법의 타당성은 시뮬레이션과 실험 결과를 통해 검증하였다.

  • The two-transformer full bridge (TTFB) PWM converter has two transformers which act as the output inductor as well as the main transformer, i.e. as the forward and the flyback transformer. Although the doubled leakage inductor of the TTFB makes it easier to achieve the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) of the lagging leg switch along the wide load range, it instigates a serious voltage ringing in the secondary rectifier diodes, which would require the dissipative snubber circuit, cause the serious power dissipation, and increase the voltage stress across those diodes. To overcome these problems, a, new lossless diode-clamp rectifier (LDCR) is employed as the output rectifier, which helps the voltage across rectifier diodes to be clamped on a half the output voltage $(V_o/2)$ or the output voltage $(V_o)$. Therefore, no dissipative snubber for rectifier diodes is needed and a high efficiency as well as low noise output voltage can be realized. The operations, analysis and design consideration of proposed converter are presented in this paper. To verify the validity of the proposed converter, experimental results from a 425W, 385-170Vdc prototype for the plasma display panel (PDP) sustaining power module (PSPM) are presented.

An Active Clamp High Step-Up Boost Converter with a Coupled Inductor

  • An active clamp high step-up boost converter with a coupled inductor is proposed in this paper. In the proposed strategy, a coupled inductor is adopted to achieve a high voltage gain. The clamp circuit is included to achieve the zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) condition for both the main and clamp switches. A rectifier composed of a capacitor and a diode is added to reduce the voltage stress of the output rectifier diode. As a result, diodes with a low reverse-recovery time and forward voltage-drop can be utilized. Since the voltage stresses of the main and clamp switches are far below the output voltage, low-voltage-rated MOSFETs can be adopted to reduce conduction losses. Moreover, the reverse-recovery losses of the diodes are reduced due to the inherent leakage inductance of the coupled inductor. Therefore, high efficiency can be expected. Firstly, the derivation of the proposed converter is given and the operation analysis is described. Then, a steady-state performance analysis of the proposed converter is analyzed in detail. Finally, a 250 W prototype is built to verify the analysis. The measured maximum efficiency of the prototype is 95%.

  • This paper proposes an energy storage-assisted, series-connected module-integrated power conversion system that integrates a photovoltaic power conditioner and a charge balancing circuit. In conventional methods, a photovoltaic power conditioner and a cell-balancing circuit are needed for photovoltaic systems with energy storage devices, but they cause a complex configuration and high cost. Moreover, an imbalanced output voltage of the module-integrated converter for PV panels can be a result of partial shading. Partial shading can lead to the fault condition of the boost converter in shaded modules and high voltage stresses on the devices in other modules. To overcome these problems, a bidirectional buck-boost converter with an integrated magnetic device operating for a charge-balancing circuit is proposed. The proposed circuit has multiple secondary rectifiers with inductors sharing a single magnetic core, which works as an inductor for the main bidirectional charger/discharger of the energy storage. The secondary rectifiers operate as a cell-balancing circuit for both energy storage and the series-connected multiple outputs of the module-integrated converter. The operating principle of the cell-balancing power conversion circuit and the power stage design are presented and validated by PSIM simulation for analysis. A hardware prototype with equivalent photovoltaic modules is implemented for verification. The results verify that the modularized photovoltaic power conversion system in the output series with an energy storage successfully works with the proposed low-cost bidirectional buck-boost converter comprising a single magnetic device.

  • 본 논문에서는 벅-부스트와 포워드 컨버터의 기능을 갖는 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 컨버터는 Cascaded H-bridge 멀티레벨인버터와 같이 다수의 독립된 전원을 요구하는 회로 구조를 단일 입력 전원단으로 구성할 수 있는 특징을 가진다. 벅-부스트 컨버터의 입력 인덕터는 변압기로 대체되며 컨버터 스위치의 ON 동작시 포워드 동작에 의해 변압기 2차측으로 전력전달이 이루어지며, 스위치 OFF시 변압기 1차측 자화인덕턴스에 저장된 에너지가 비절연된 벅-부스트 컨버터의 출력 커패시터로 전달된다. 제안된 컨버터의 동작 모드에 따른 이론적 분석을 시행하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 타당성을 검증한다.

  • Diode rectifier has many low order harmonics in line currents. So, power factor of input side is relatively low. Recently, PWM conveters have been actively studied in order to reduce the harmonics. This paper describes a voltage source PWM rectifier with feed-forward compensation of instantaneous load power. By adding feed-forward compensation to dc link voltage control loop, the fluctuation of dc link voltage at a sudden load change can be considerably suppressed. Simulation based on analytical approach Was performed and the results of it showed a good agreement with theory.

  • The AT Forward MRC is studied on the stability. The compensator is composed of the error amp with 3 poles and 2 zeros. This is optimized through the experiment. The converter loop gain is measured using HP4194A. We are initiated by the thinking of how to make the stabilization from the experimental results of loop gam curves. The loop gain, low frequency gain and gain margin are more improved through the experimental considerations.

300 W급 평면 변압기의 설계 및 분석 (Design and Analysis of the 300 W Planar Transformer)

  • The forward planar transformer, which had power capacity of 300 W, input voltage of 220 V, output voltage of 15 V, and switching frequency of 300 KHz, was designed and manufactured by using the planar core with large effective area and the flat copper leadframes for miniaturization and high efficiency of the switching mode power supply (SMPS). As well as, a forward converter equipped with the above mentioned planar transformer was manufactured and electromagnetic characteristics were investigated. The numerical value of turns for 1st and 2nd winding were 15 and 2 respectively The self inductance of 1st winding was 1.592 mH, very low leakage inductance of 2.7 $\mu$H, and the coupling factor of 0.928 were obtained at switching frequency of 300 KHz. The high efficiency of 88.62 % for the SMPS equipped with planar transformer was obtained at power capacity of 300 W.

  • In this paper, we proposed the alternated forward multi-resonant converter. It can reduce the voltage stress due to the operation of two multi resonant switches and also provides a high frequency applications. The proposed circuit is verified through the PSpice simulation and the 50W experimental set with 2MHz maximum frequency. The measured voltage stress is up to 170V of 2.9 times the input voltage and the efficiency is about 81.66% at low line.
