There are many discrepancies between visually perceived color-difference and that which is quantified from an instrumental measurement when dark color samples are measured in the textile industry. The samples were prepared to represent these dark shades and the values of the instrumental results from conventional color-difference formulae(CIELAB, CMC, BFD II, CIE94, LCD99 and CIEDE2000). Those of visual assessment were compared. The experimental results show that the CIELAB formula gives the best performance over other formulae, and the CIEDE2000 formula for the color-difference according to chroma presents the worst performance. Therefore, we can say that the problems in color matching of dark shades are caused by imperfect formula, because the results obtained from a color-difference formulae are different and the CMC which is used as a standard color-difference formula in the textile industry is not correct. So, a revised color-difference formula is proposed in this study, to account for these problems.
The storage stability of the developed Formula of infant foods was investigated. The results are summarized as follows : When formula A and B were stored at room temperature and refrigeration temperature, there was no remarkable changes in consistency. In frozen state, formula A showed more stability in consistency than formula B and formula A could be stored for 6 months without problems due to retrogradation of starch. The heat treatment of both A and B resulted in the increase of a-value, while L-and b-value showed no such change. But from the 4th month at room temperature, and 5th to 6th month at refrigeration appeared an increase in a -value, hence the browning reaction, while frozen samples did not show noticeable changes in surface color. The heat treatment also caused an increase in POV on both formula. The extent of changes in POV during storage varied with storage temperatures and samples.

The Little's formula, $L={\lambda}W$, expresses a fundamental principle of queueing theory: Under very general conditions, the average queue length is equal to the product of the arrival rate and the average waiting time. This useful formula is now well known and frequently applied. In this paper, we demonstrate that the Little's formula has much more power than was previously realized when it is properly decomposed into what we call the microscopic Little's formula. We use the M/G/1 queue with server vacations as an example model to which we apply the microscopic Little's formula. As a result, we obtain a transform-free expression for the queue length distribution. Also, we briefly summarize some previous efforts in the literature to increase the power of the Little's formula.
This st at the development of the adequate sediment yield formulas in Wi-Stream basin ; IHP representative basin in Korea. As a result of applying outstanding sediment yield formulas among the existing formulas, it is analyzed that including the Engelund & Hansen formula, Yang formula is proper to the Wi-Stream basin. And as a result of sensitivity analysis to the sediment parameters it is analyzed that Rijn and Actors & White formula is more sensible than any other formulas which has been applied the velocity and depth among the parameters. Also, Engelund & Hansen and Yang formula is less sensible than any other formulas. In Wi-Stream basin, it is analyzed that Yang and Engelund & Hansen formula is the most suitable sediment yield formula in this study. But because the existing formulas had been developed in foreign countries and applied the foreign natural livers and reservoirs, it makes careful use of Korean alluvial river and hoped that it will be developed the most adequate formula in Wi-Stream basin.
The present study was carried out to examine the sustained release effect of the implantable bovine somatotropin (SRI-BST) formula. In the blood profile test in steers, the bovine somatotropin concentration in serum by radioimmunoassay showed the peak concentration on the first day after the implantation of the SRI-BST formula, and concentration proceeded for 5 days (p < 0.05). The insulin-like growth factor-1 concentration showed the peak concentration on the seventh day after implantation of the SRIF-BST formula, and concentration proceeded for 10 days (p < 0.05). The glucose showed the peak concentration on the first day after implantation of the SRI-BST formula, and concentration continued for 3 days (p < 0.05). The blood urea nitrogen showed the lowest concentration on the third day after implantation of the SRI-BST formula, and concentration continued for 7 days (p < 0.05). These results proved that the SRIF-BST formula was the sustained release effects in steers.
The formulas offered so far on the settlement of raft footings provide only a rough estimate of the actual settlement. One of the best ways to make an accurate estimation is to conduct 3-dimensional finite element analyses. However, the required procedure for these analyses is comparatively cumbersome and expensive and needs a bit more expertise. In order to address this issue, in this study, a raft footing settlement formula was developed based on ninety finite element model configurations. The formula was derived using multi-parameter exponential regression analyses. The settlement formula incorporates the dimensions and the elastic modulus of a rectangular raft, vertical uniform pressure and soil moduli and Poisson's ratios up to 5 layers. In addition to this, an equation was offered for the estimation of average deflection of the raft. The proposed formula was checked against 3 well-documented case studies. The formula that is derived from 3D finite element analyses is useful in optimising the raft properties.

We persent a method for kinematic calibration of open chain mechanisms based on the product of exponentials (POE) formula. The POE formula represents the forward kinematics of an open chain as a product of matrix exponentials, and is based on a modern geometric interpretation of classical screw theory. Unlike the kinematic parameters in the POE formula vary smoothly with changes in the joint axes;ad hoc methods designed to address the inherent singularities in the D-H parameters are therefore are therefore unnecessary. After introducing the POE formula, we derive a least-squares kinematic calibration algorithm for general open chain mechanisms. Simulation results with a 6-axis open chain are presented.
In search and rescue mission the leeway formula based on the field experiments are utilized for the estimation of wind effect on distressed targets. This paper summarized the leeway formula from the available references. In the summary the environmental data collection method and experimental conditions are described along with the formula. Also the formula currently used in CASP of the U.S. Coast Gurard and CANSARP of the Canadian Coast Guard are discussed.
The object of present note is to give a very short proof of Stirling's formula which uses only a formula for the generalized zeta function. There are several proofs for this formula. For example, Dr. E. J. Routh gave an elementary proof using Wallis' theorem in lectures at Cambridge ([5, pp.66-68]). We can find another proof which used the Maclaurin summation formula ([5, pp.116-120]). In [1], they used the Central Limit Theorem or the inversion theorem for characteristic functions. In [2], pp. Diaconis and D. Freeman provided another proof similarly as in [1]. J. M. Patin [7] used the Lebesgue dominated convergence theorem.
We obtain bounds relating to Eulers formula for the case of a function with higher-order convexity properties. These are used to derive estimates of the error involved in the use of the trapezoidal formula for integrating such a function.
