Microarray Data Sharing System (마이크로어레이 데이터 공유 시스템)

  • Improved reliability of microarray data and its reproducibility lead to recent increment in demand of data sharing and utilization among laboratories, but house-keeping and publicly opened microarray experimental data can hardly be accessed and utilized since they are in heterogeneous formats according to the various experimental methods and microarray platforms. In this paper, we propose a microarray sharing method which can easily retrieve and integrate microarray data from different experiment platforms, data formats, normalization methods, and analysis methods. Our system is based on web-service technology. The biologists of each site are able to search UDDI(Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration) registry, and download microarray data with common data structure of standard format recommended by MGED(Microarray Gene Expression Databases) society. The common data structure defined in this paper consists of IDF(Investigation Design Format), ADF(Array Design Format), SDRF(Sample and Relationship Format), and EDF(Expression Data Format). These components play role as templates to integrate microarray data with various structure and can be stored in standard formats such as MAGE-ML, MAGE-TAB, and XML Schema. In addition, our system provides advanced tools of automatic microarray data submitter and file manager to manipulate local microarray data efficiently.

  • 디지털 캠코더에서 이용하는 영상 압축 방식인 DV 부호화방식은 DCT와 가변장 부호화 방식을 이용한다. DV 방식은 하드웨어 복잡도가 낮은 반면 압축된 비트 율이 약 26Mbps로 높은 편이다. 따라서 스튜디오에서 낮은 복잡도로 영상을 부호화 한 후 VOD 시스템에서 이용하기 위하여 MPEG-2로 변환부호화 할 필요가 있다. 이때의 두 압축방식이 DCT를 이용하므로, DCT영역에서 변환부호화 하면 중간과정을 줄일 수 있어서 계산상의 복잡도를 줄일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 DV방식에서 MPEG-2의 인트라로 변환부호화시, DV방식의 4:1:1 색차포맷을 MPEG-2의 4:2:2 색차 포맷으로 변환할 때 변환영역에 있는 데이터에 미리 계산된 행렬을 곱하여 병렬처리가 가능하게 설계하였다. 또한 MPEG-2 율제어는 중요한 서브 블록의 분산을 완전히 DCT영역에서 계산하여 하드웨어 복잡도를 줄였다. 색차포맷변환부 하드웨어 구현을 위하여 VHDL로 코딩한 후 FPGA-EXPRESS(synopsys), ALTERA MAX-PLUS II를 사용하여 모의실험을 하였다. 각 모듈별로 기능을 검증한 후, FPGA EXPRESS(synopsys)를 사용하여 합성 및 검증을 하였다.

Study on Methods of Digitalization of Older Books Using PDF (PDF를 활용한 고문헌의 원문디지털화 방안에 대한 고찰)

  • This article is a study on methods of digitalization for eider books using PDF (Portable Document Format) supported by Acrobat 4.0 which was introduced in April of 1999. Acrobat 3.0 has caused many problems in supporting Korean language or Hangul. However, the revised 4.0 version of this software made the conversion of Korean, Japanese and Chinese language possible due to its support by the multi-language fonts. Therefore, it Is possible to converse and to edit the text file of older books written with Hangul. The Acrobat Reader, the viewer of PDF, can be downloaded for free from its website. However, the digitalized text of older books by PDF has still some problems. But the user can retrieve the text of older books from the Internet easily.

  • This study is a VR system design designed to evaluate the impact of interaction on user experience analyzed by developer's perspective for the interactive VR fashion show. In the VR fashion show design, we produced an interactive system through the four interactive elements of camera viewpoint, cloth, effects, and sound. The interactive design system is proposed based on three application facto rs in VR space design: speed, range, and mapping. The study focused on the user experience based on format conversion to apply the Unity3D engine using 3D model, animation, 2D UI design, and simulation.

  • This paper describes the conversion system which translates wordprocessor file into ODIF(Open Document Interchange Format) data stream for document interchange between heterogeneous systems and applications. We design the translator according to ODA of international base standard, FOD26 of international funtional standard, and a BosukGul V file for source document file. This system is implemented using the Microsoft Windows and the ODAC(ODA Consortium) toolkit in the PC environment.

  • The XMT standard is MPEG-4 Scene Description of textual format. It can be utilized to edit the audio/video media for broadcasting and develop the user oriented media contents. This paper proposes XMT authoring system that supports exchange among contents in various presentation environment. The XMT authoring system creates two levels of textual syntax and semantics: XMT-$\alpha$ format and XMT-$\Omega$ format. Because XMT-$\alpha$ and XMT-$\Omega$ have different expression method about an object, the authoring tool offers interface for them. the authoring tool offers interface for them. Also, it defines interior data structure that can support two file formats, and offers the function that transforms XMT-$\alpha$ into BIFS and transforms XMT-$\Omega$ into SMIL or XMT-$\alpha$. It offers interoperability among multimedia data in various environment that is XMT's characteristic.

  • At present, the electronic document is being processed in WYSWYG mode. For this, a document is structured by the logical structure and the physical structure, and is presented by the markup language. After XML is announced, an application scope of the electronic document is extended from interchanging to searching. However, in point of output quality, a XML document image on a browser has lower quality than a general document image on desktop publishing. The reason is which output function of a browser has not capability for high quality printing. The W3C developed XSL-FO(XSL-formatting Object) for style sheet formatting and PDL(Page Description Language) as like Postscript is already developed and used widely. In this paper, we designed the Postscript-Converter to get a high quality document image by converting XSL-FO into Postscript format.

  • The AERMET, the AERMOD meteorological preprocessing program, mainly used for environmental impact assessment and Integrated Environmental Permit System (IEPS) in Korea, has not considered the land covers characterasitics, and used only the past meteorological data format CD-144. In this study, two results of AERMET application considering CD-144 format and ISHD format, being used internationally, were compared. Also, the atmospheric dispersion characteristics were analyzed with consideration of land cover. In the case of considered the CD-144 format, the actual wind speed was not taken into account in the weak wind (0.6~0.9m/s) and other wind speed due to the unit conversion problem. The predicted concentration considering land cover data was up to 387% larger depending on the topographic and emission conditions than without consideration of land cover. In conclusion, when using meteorological preprocessing program in AERMOD modelling, AERMET, with ISHD format, land cover characterasitics in the area should be considered.

  • 본 논문에서는 DTV 수상기에서 전송 받은 영상을 원하는 크기로 디스플레이 하기 위해 필요한 포맷 변환에 관한 알고리즘을 제시한다. 포맷 변환을 할 때에 영상을 보간하면 영상의 품질이 떨어지는 것을 볼 수 있는데 특히 에지 부분이 눈에 민감한 특성을 생각한다면 에지 부분에서의 무뎌짐은 상당한 문제점이 된다. 이를 해결하기 위해 고역 통과 필터링을 해주어 영상의 선명도를 올려줄 수 있는데 영상 전체에 고역 통과 필터링을 해주게 되면 영상의 에지뿐만 아니라 잡음 신호까지도 같이 증폭되는 문제점이 나타난다. 따라서 이를 해결하기 위해 에지 부분만을 적응적으로 고역 통과 필터에 통과시켜 잡음 성분은 줄이면서 에지 부분의 선명도는 올려주는 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 이를 검증하기 위해 다양한 영상에 대하여 컴퓨터 모의 실험을 하였고, 결과를 기존의 방법들과 비교하여 알고리즘의 우수성을 확인하였다.
