Purpose - It is a very important issue for the Korean tourism industry to increase tourism revenue by attracting foreign tourists. Although Japanese tourists have been an important part of the Korean tourism industry for a long time, the level of tourist satisfaction including accommodation has been at the worst compared to other foreign visitors, which strongly requires concrete solutions. Therefore, this study focuses on improving the satisfaction level of Japanese visitors in the use of accommodation, and find out the influence of the managerial response. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, customer review and managerial response of hotels in Seoul were collected from "Rakuten Travel" which is the most representative online travel agency in Japan. As a result of collecting data from 2016 to 2018, 6,190 customer reviews and 1,241 managerial responses from 120 hotels were used for analysis. In addition, information on the properties of 120 hotels, such as the number of rooms, classification, types of hotel facilities, types of room facilities, accessibility and prices, were collected. To test the hypotheses, moderated multiple regression analysis was conducted with SPSS 22.0. Results - It was found that only 25 sites, 20.8% of the total 120 sites, were implementing managerial response and average response rate was 66.42% among them. As a result of examining the main effects of the hotel attributes on the ratings, accessibility and price are confirmed as effective variables. We also found that the response rate has a significant moderate effect in both the accessibility and price. In other words, there was a significant difference in the influence of accessibility and price on the ratings depending on the response rate. Also, it was confirmed that the response rate is not a pure moderator variable but a quasi moderator variable. Overall, the evidences partially supported the hypothesis. Conclusion - It was possible to provide important suggestions to the hotel managers who were concerned about managing tourist satisfaction with accessibility problems. It was found that the accessibility problem could be overcome by increasing the response rate. It was also confirmed that high ratings can be more effectively achieved for high priced hotels by increasing the response rate.
This paper attempts to develop STP Strategy of EXPO 2012 Yeosu for attracting tourists. STP in marketing strategy refers to the process of market segmentation, market targeting, and positioning. I tested four demographic variables(age, occupation, nationality, and sex) to segment the market or the visitors of EXPO 2012 Yeosu effectively. The statistical result shows that age, occupation, and nationality are significant. Based on the three demographic factors and the visitor's purpose, I classified the expected visitors of EXPO into 12 groups, and selected 6 targeted groups: a group of Korean students with the purpose of study, a group of Korean professionals with the purpose of business, a group of foreign students with the purpose of study, a group of foreign professionals with the purpose of business, a group of Korean people in general with the purpose of tourism, and a group of foreign people in general with the purpose of tourism. In this paper, I have suggested a differentiated marketing mix for six targeted groups each.

The number of Chinese tourists entering Korea has constantly increased since 2000. The number of Chinese visitors who have entered though Incheon International Airport last year was 2.75 million, making Chinese citizens the greatest in number out of all foreign visitors. Considering the importance they have on the Korean aviation market, an examination into their airport usage patterns and satisfaction is essential. For the purpose of this study, the Northeastern region of China was chosen. This region has an even distribution in monthly entrants to korea, and has a dual system of Socialist and Capitalist economies. The following study aims to examine the airport use behavior of Northeastern Chinese passengers, and to provide a strategic guideline regarding this. The following empirical study was attempted by surveying Northeastern Chinese passengers who use Incheon International Airport (IIA). Questions included those regarding airport service and facility usage of IIA, and the patterns of Northeastern Chinese passengers regarding this.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of two local festivals, already recognized as a successful regional cultural festival, over a period of time to apply the product life cycle theory. As a result of the analysis of the two festivals, in introduction stage, the festival organizers have focused mainly on settling down the festival's core programs and raising awareness on the subject of the festival for the stimulation for basic demands. Second, for maintaining increasing demands, the qualitative improvement of the core program, the development of new programs and the expansion of the programs for the visitors' convenience and safety were focused on. In addition, strategies for promoting awareness of the festival had modified the strategy to promote on the contents and programs of the festival, as well as public relations strategy, not only domestic but also the foreign countries, was established and fulfilled. Lastly, in maturity stage, to overcome declining the number of visitors and economic effect both festivals have showed providing sophisticated programs for the visitors' convenience and safety, improving service quality through the development of the existing programs, providing economic benefits such as admission cuts or giving gift certificates and expanding number of foreign visitors with strengthening the promotion that was implemented in growth stage and enhancing the better image of the festival through the social contribution. Therefore, strategies for the each stage mentioned above present the significant policy implications for festival organizers who were planning to establish a new festival or implementing a festival with experiencing the tepid growth.
The purposes of this study were to identify the economic impacts of hosting a marine leisure event and thus provide fundamental information that helps maximize the economic value of the event. In order to accomplish such purposes, this study employed both an economic impact analysis(EIA) using regional input output model and a benefit and cost ratio analysis(BCR). In specific, this study utilized a survey method with a total of 300 event visitors and 70 foreign players and thus collected expenditure data from 110 valid out of town visitors and 58 foreign players. In addition, investment expenditure data were collected from the host city official. Accordingly, EIA and BCR indicated following findings. First, the total direct impact from both visitors and players was 387 million Won and this direct impact resulted in output multiplier effect(OME) of 591 million Won, value added multiplier effect(VAME) of 306 million Won and income multiplier effect(IME) of 252 million Won. Second, the host city's investment expenditure created OME, VAME and IME of 825, 432 and 366 million Won, respectively. In conclusion, these findings suggest that in order to effectively boost potential economic benefits, more marketing efforts development policies should be implemented for increasing the number of out of town visitors and the amount of spendings from them.
As exhibition industry, which is a part of 17 new growth engines of the government, is related to other industries such as tourism, transportation and financial industries. So it has a significant ripple effect on other industries. Exhibition is a knowledge-intensive, eco-friendly and high value-added Industry. Over 13,000 exhibitions are held every year around the world which contributes to getting foreign currency. Exhibition industry is closely related with culture and tourism and could be utilized as local and national development strategies and improve national brand image as well. Many countries try various efforts to invigorate exhibition industry by arranging related laws and support system. In Korea, more than 200 exhibitions are being held every year, but only 2~3 exhibitions are hosted with over 400 exhibitors and except these exhibitions most exhibitions have few foreign exhibitors. The main reason of weakness of domestic trade show is that there are no agencies managing exhibitionrelated statistics and there is no specific and reliable evaluation. This might cause impossibility of providing buyer or seller with reliable data, poor growth of exhibitions in terms of quality and thus service quality of trade shows cannot be improved. Hosting a lot of visitors (Public/Buyer/Exhibitor) is very crucial to the development of domestic exhibition industry. In order to attract many visitors, service quality of exhibition and visitor's satisfaction should be enhanced. For this purpose, a variety of real-time customized services through digital media and the services for creating new customers and retaining existing customers should be provided. In addition, by providing visitors with personalized information services they could manage their time and space efficiently avoiding the complexity of exhibition space. Exhibition industry can have competitiveness and industrial foundation through building up exhibition-related statistics, creating new information and enhancing research ability. Therefore, this paper deals with customized service with visitor's smart-phone at the exhibition space and designing mobile framework which enables exhibition devices to interact with other devices. Mobile server framework is composed of three different systems; multi-server interaction, server, client, display device. By making knowledge pool of exhibition environment, the accumulated data for each visitor can be provided as personalized service. In addition, based on the reaction of visitors each of all information is utilized as customized information and so the cyclic chain structure is designed. Multiple interaction server is designed to have functions of event handling, interaction process between exhibition device and visitor's smart-phone and data management. Client is an application processed by visitor's smart-phone and could be driven on a variety of platforms. Client functions as interface representing customized service for individual visitors and event input and output for simultaneous participation. Exhibition device consists of display system to show visitors contents and information, interaction input-output system to receive event from visitors and input toward action and finally the control system to connect above two systems. The proposed mobile framework in this paper provides individual visitors with customized and active services using their information profile and advanced Knowledge. In addition, user participation service is suggested as well by using interaction connection system between server, client, and exhibition devices. Suggested mobile framework is a technology which could be applied to culture industry such as performance, show and exhibition. Thus, this builds up the foundation to improve visitor's participation in exhibition and bring about development of exhibition industry by raising visitor's interest.

Jeju Island is a major area generates origin-destination trips, accounting for about 90 % of domestic air transportation, and popular tourist destination visited by more than 10 million domestic and foreign tourists annually. Travel behavior patterns of tourists in Jeju Island have great meaning for not only Jeju Island, but also the inland aviation, tourism, mobility industry. This study presented passenger travel behavior in Jeju Island based on a survey including foreign visitors and residents as well as domestic visitors. In particular, the survey was conducted in early 2020 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is expected to be a major preliminary study for changes in tourist travel and air travel in Jeju Island before and after COVID-19.

Analyzing and predicting foreign tourists' demand is a crucial research topic in the tourism industry because it profoundly influences establishing and planning tourism policies. Since foreign tourist data is influenced by various external factors, it has a characteristic that there are many subtle changes over time. Therefore, in recent years, research is being conducted to design a prediction model by reflecting various external factors such as economic variables to predict the demand for tourists inbound. However, the regression analysis model and the recurrent neural network model, mainly used for time series prediction, did not show good performance in time series prediction reflecting various variables. Therefore, we design a foreign tourist demand prediction model that complements these limitations using a convolutional neural network. In this paper, we propose a model that predicts foreign tourists' demand by designing a one-dimensional convolutional neural network that reflects foreign tourist data for the past ten years provided by the Korea Tourism Organization and additionally collected external factors as input variables.

Globalization has diversified ethnic composition thus increased the risk of conflicts and socio-political instability in global cities. However, still the status of community facility in a global city is unclear despite its critical role to build sustainable community in global era. In Seoul, as a reaction of globalization, 19 community facilities known as the 'Seoul Global Center' have been established since 2007 by Seoul Metropolitan Government. These facilities have started to provide basic foreigner services but been transformed to foreigner service hub with multiple functions in terms of a living, a business, a labour, etc. This study explores the role of the community facility for foreigners by using the Seoul Global Center as a case study, conducting a site observation, an interview(13 staff) and a questionnaire(148 visitors). The findings are the community facility functions as a 'global platform' in forms of a policy tool for implementing the urban globalization strategy, a mediator connecting foreign migrants with local communities, an applicant for successful settlement of foreign residents, an incubator that grows human and social capital, and a base for collecting and aggregating information on foreign migrants and forming new local identities.

The fourth purpose is to provide useful materials on analysis about the values of the visitors at various Spa & Resorts and to trigger dramatic effect of recuperation, relaxation with its visitor's needs met, the maximum of hotel's management profit at Spa & Resort's area and programs to activate the region's economy. Factor Analsis Routine of SPSS Windows Version 10.0 was applied to accomplish the issues of the study. The Applied analysis by research process are as follows; This paper applied Frequency analysis to figure out interviewee's demographic characters and various using types of the visitors, using their experience of visiting, Select influence, Visiting period, Accommodation they use, Accompanyist, Costs, Season, Transportation, The necessary time. This paper showed important correlation between the visitors' select attributes and behaviors after using it, between their personal value and behaviors after using it, between their individual value, motive of use and their select behavior of destinations. In accordance with it, Managers or developer of a Spa & Resort should make a plan after a sufficient review of the visitors' individual value. The visitor's value is changing continuously according to the change of spatial, occasional environment and should be assessed by those changes.
