In this paper, we designed a line CCD camera for a flying image, which is composed of a line CCD sensor(2048 cells) and a rotating mirror, and investigated its optical properties. We also made the 3-D image from the flying image which is made of 2-D image being juxtaposed to 1-D images obtained by the camera, and performed the calibration to acquire high precision 3-D data. As a result, we obtained the 3-D measurement system using the slit type of laser projector is available to measure the high precision shape of objects.
Animation works have been peformed by the objective sensitivity and experience so far. Software designs have been also manufactured based on intelligent data because they are easy to objectify and digitalize. In contrast, there are many elements, which human senses are hard to objectify and digitalize. This study investigates how to digitalize and objectify human senses and how to use them as the quantitative data and its subject is a flying path. In the experiment, this study collects some sensitive words for how human beings express the living path. The evaluation words for sensitivity through the collected sensitive words are extracted and the sketch images for the flying path are collected from the extracted evaluation words for sensitivity. Based on the collected sketch images, the samples of real moving image, which are the core of this study, are manufactured. Then, quantification theory III and I are used in order to analyze the correlation between the sensitive words representing the flying path and the samples of moving image. As a result, this study can figure out the structure of sensitive words and the samples of moving image and analyze the physical stimulating elements for the flying path. The flying path corresponds to the path that the object has passed. Some unique sensitive words are expressed by means of interacting some sensitive stimulating elements after looking at such a path. There are some elements that stimulate the senses and they include the physical elements such as speed, rotation, pattern and length of arc. The purpose of this study is to objectify and quantify the animation works that are created by animators' subjective thought and experience and to use them in animation works in the future.

This paper proposes a novel method for the recognition of the inverse synthetic aperture radar(ISAR) image of multiple targets flying in formation. Rather than separating the ISAR image of each target, the proposed method combines an ISAR image obtained by fusing the ISAR images in the training database. Fusion is conducted by optimizing the non-linear problem whose parameters are the aspect angle and the target location. Assuming that the aspect angle is properly estimated, the proposed method estimates the number of the targets and their locations by optimizing the template matching using PSO. In simulations using the F-16 scale model, the efficiency of the proposed method was demonstrated by yielding the ISAR image identical to that of targets in formation.
In this paper, we proposed visual information to provide a highly maneuverable system for a tele-operator. The visual information image is bird's eye view from UFR(Unmanned Flying Robot) shows around UGR(Unmanned Ground Robot). We need UGV detection and tracking method for UFR following UGR always. The proposed system uses TLD(Tracking Learning Detection) method to rapidly and robustly estimate the motion of the new detected UGR between consecutive frames. The TLD system trains an on-line UGR detector for the tracked UGR. The proposed system uses the extended Kalman filter in order to enhance the performance of the tracker. As a result, we provided the tele-operator with the visual information for convenient control.

We consider the problem of autonomously flying a quadcopter in indoor environments. Navigation in indoor settings poses two major issues. First, real time recognition of the marker captured by the camera. Second, The combination of the distributed images is used to determine the position and orientation of the quadcopter in an indoor environment. We autonomously fly a miniature RC quadcopter in small known environments using an on-board camera as the only sensor. We use an algorithm that combines data-driven image classification with image-combine techniques on the images captured by the camera to achieve real 3D localization and navigation.

This paper addresses a Moving Target Indication (MTI) algorithm which can be used for small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with image sensors. MTI is a system (or an algorithm) which detects moving objects. The principle of the MTI algorithm is to analyze the difference between successive image data. It is difficult to detect moving objects in the images recorded from dynamic cameras attached to moving platforms such as UAVs flying at low altitudes over a variety of terrain, since the acquired images have two motion components: 'camera motion' and 'object motion'. Therefore, the motion of independent objects can be obtained after the camera motion is compensated thoroughly via proper manipulations. In this study, the camera motion effects are removed by using wiener filter-based image registration, one of the non-parametric methods. In addition, an image pyramid structure is adopted to reduce the computational complexity for UAVs. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our method with experimental results on outdoor video sequences.

This paper describes the fuel spray characteristics of gasoline port injectors such as the breakup procedures of liquid fuel, breakup and extinction behaviors of fuel spray at nozzle tip, time history of SMD and velocity distribution of fuel spray in the direction of fuel stream. Pintle-type gasoline fuel injector was used to analyze mentioned spray characteristics. In order to visualize the fuel spray behaviors and to measure the droplet mean diameter and velocities of spray droplets, the Schlieren method, digital image processing and auto-correlation PIV were applied in this study. In addition, the spray characteristics according to the variation of time were considered. The results of fuel spray show that the liquid sheet breakup starts at 10mm downstream actively. The flying time is approximately 4msec between 50mm and 80mm down the nozzle tip. Also, SMD of fuel spray, the number of droplets and fuel velocity distribution at each point of downstream are discussed.
In optical scanning holography, 3-D holographic information of an object is generated by 2-D active optical scanning. The optical scanning beam can be a time-dependent Gaussian apodized Fresnel zone plate. In this technique, the holographic information manifests itself as an electrical signal which can be sent to an electron-beam-addressed spatial light modulator for coherent image reconstruction. This technique can be applied to 3-D optical remote sensing especially for identifying flying objects. In this paper, we first briefly review optical scanning holography and analyze the resolution achievable with the system. We then present mathematical expression of real and virtual image which are responsible for holographic image reconstruction by using Gaussian beam profile.
It will be a real good news for the people who were lost their hometown by the construction of a large dam to be restored to the former state. Focused on Cheung-Pyung around where most part were flooded by the Chungju large Dam founded in early 1980s, we used Remote Sensing Technique in this study in order to restore topographical features before the flood with 3 dimensional effects. We gathered comparatively good satellite photos and remotely sensed digital images, then we made a new color image from these and the topographical map which had been made before the flood. This task was putting together two kinds of different timed images. And then, we generated DEM including the outskirts of that area as harmonizing current contour lines with the map. That could be a perfect 3D image of Cheung-Pyung around before when it had been flood by making perspective images from all directions, north, south, east and west, for showing there in three dimensions. Also, flying simulation we made for close visiting can bring us to experience their real space at that time.

Drone related research has been increasing recently due to the development and distribution of commercial unmanned aerial vehicles. However, most of the previous studies focused on the accuracy and utility of drone surveying. For drones, the resolution of the result is determined according to the flight altitude, but since 70% of Korea is mountainous, it is necessary to analyze the quality of the drone image according to the flight plan. In this study, the quality of drone photogrammetry results according to flight plans was analyzed. The flight plan was established by fixed altitude and considering the height of the terrain. Images were acquired for both cases and data was processed to generate ortho images. As a result of evaluating the accuracy of the generated ortho image, the accuracy was found to be -0.07 ~ 0.09m. The accuracy of Case I and Case II did not show a significant difference, but for RMSE, Case I showed a good value. These results indicate that the drone flight plan affects the quality of the results. Also, when flying at a fixed altitude, II showed a lower value than the originally set overlap according to the altitude of the object. In future surveys using drones, flight planning taking into account the height of the object will contribute to the improvement of the quality of the results.
