태양열 하이브리드 공정을 위한 유동층 입자들의 마모 및 열전달 특성 연구 (Attrition and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Fluidized Bed Materials for a Solar Hybrid Process)

  • 전기와 천연가스와 같이 안정적이며 신뢰할 수 있는 에너지를 현대 사회가 요구하기 때문에 재생에너지와 화석연료의 장점들을 모두 보유하고 있는 다양한 방식의 태양열 하이브리드 공정들이 세계 각국에서 개발되고 있다. 특히 고체 입자에 태양열을 저장하는 유동층 기반의 태양열 하이브리드 공정은 기존의 유동층 연소 및 가스화에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 기대받고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 ASTM D5757 반응기와 0.14 m의 직경과 2 m 높이의 유동층 반응기를 이용하여 태양열 하이브리드 공정의 유동층물질로서 검토되고 있는 실리콘 카바이드, 알루미나 입자들의 마모 및 열전달 특성을 고찰하였다. 특히 다양한 상업 유동층 반응기에서 유동층물질로 이용되는 모래와 비교하였다. 실리콘카바이드와 알루미나의 내마모성은 모래보다 우수하였으며 평균 열전달 계수도 125 ~ 152 W m-2K-1 범위를 가지는 것으로 고찰되었다.

삼상 유동층 반응조를 이용한 해수 순환 여과 시설의 수처리 (Water Treatment of Seawater Recirculating Aquaculture System by Using Three Phase Fluidized Bed Reactor)

  • 삼상 유동층 반응조의 수처리 효율을 검토하기 위해 해수 순환여과 시설을 운전하였다. 수처리 시스템은 유동층 반응조, 카트리지 필터, 오존접촉조로 구성되어 있고, 전체 운전기간동안 사육조내 수질인자별 평균농도는 각각 COD 9mg/L, 총암모니아(TAN) 0.22mg/L, 아질산성 질소 0.05mg/L, 질산성 질소 20mg/L, 탁도 3.64 NTU, SS 9.5mg/L, pH 7.6, 알칼리도 70mg/L 등으로 나타나 양호한 수질조건을 유지할 수 있었다. 유동층 반응조의 TAN 부하량 범위는 4.3~32.9 g/$m^3$/day였고, 평균 제거율은 20 g/$m^3$/day으로 나타났다. 각 반응조의 TAN 제거율은 47~60%로 나타나 해수에서도 효과적인 암모니아 제거 특성을 나타내었다. 또한 유출수의 비이온성 암모니아 농도는 0.002 mg/L이하로 유지 할 수 있었다

대기압 이하에서 운전하는 유동층 반응기의 유동 특성 (Fluidization Characteristics in Fluidized Bed Reactors Operated in Subatmospheric Pressure)

  • 최근 대기압이하 진공 압력 상태에서 운전되는 유동층 반응기는 진공건조 공정이나 플라즈마 화학증착과 같이 감압 유동화가 요구되기에 관심이 증대되어 왔다. 그러나 대기압 이하에서 운전되는 유동층의 수력학적 특성 연구는 많이 연구되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 대기압 이하에서 운전하는 유동층의 압력강하를 층내 압력을 1.33 에서 101.3kPa 까지 변화시키며 측정하였다. 유동층의 운전 압력이 진공인 상태에서는 최소유동화속도가 압력이 감소함에 따라 증가하며, 이는 기체 밀도와 평균 자유경로 변화와 같은 slip 흐름에 의한 변화이다. 또한 기존의 상압 상태에서 운전되는 유동층의 최소유동화속도 상관식과 비교함으로써 압력 감소에 따른 slip 흐름의 영향 뚜렷하게 나타남을 가리키는 임계 Knudsen 수를 결정하였다. 이로부터 slip 흐름이 주도하기 시작하는 임계 압력을 실험적으로 결정하였다.

Optimization fluidization characteristics conditions of nickel oxide for hydrogen reduction by fluidized bed reactor

  • We evaluated the optimal conditions for fluidization of nickel oxide (NiO) and its reduction into high-purity Ni during hydrogen reduction in a laboratory-scale fluidized bed reactor. A comparative study was performed through structural shape analysis using scanning electron microscopy (SEM); variance in pressure drop, minimum fluidization velocity, terminal velocity, reduction rate, and mass loss were assessed at temperatures ranging from 400 to $600^{\circ}C$ and at 20, 40, and 60 min in reaction time. We estimated the sample weight with most active fluidization to be 200 g based on the bed diameter of the fluidized bed reactor and height of the stocked material. The optimal conditions for NiO hydrogen reduction were found to be height of sample H to the internal fluidized bed reactor diameter D was H/D=1, reaction temperature of $550^{\circ}C$, reaction time of 60 min, superficial gas velocity of 0.011 m/s, and pressure drop of 77 Pa during fluidization. We determined the best operating conditions for the NiO hydrogen reduction process based on these findings.

Effects of Geometry and Operating Fluid on the Expansion Behavior of Liquid-Solid Fluidized Beds

  • Fluidized beds have been widely used in industrial applications, which in most of them, the operating fluid is non-Newtonian. In this study, the combination of the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) and the smoothed profile method has been developed for non-Newtonian power-law fluids. The validation of the obtained model were investigated by experimental correlations. This model has been used for numerical studying of changing the operating fluid and geometrical parameters on the expansion behavior in liquid-solid beds with both Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. Investigations were performed for seven different geometries, one Newtonian, and two non-Newtonian fluids. The power-law index was in the range of 0.8 to 1, and the results for the Newtonian fluidized beds show more porosity than the non-Newtonian ones. Furthermore, increasing the power-law index resulted in enhancing the bed porosity. On the other hand, bed porosity was decreased by increasing the initial bed height and the density of the solid particles. Finally, the porosity ratio in the bed was decreased by increasing the solid particle diameter.

  • Process intensification without any increase in bed requires the exploitation of fluid mechanical phenomena as the basis for elegant solutions to the process engineering problems which result from the need to retain and control the immobilized biomass, and for biomass recovery. The fluidized bed biological reactor provides a solution to these needs. The wastewater treatment characteristics of the fluidized bed was filled with sand media. Indirect aeration were studied experimentally. The researcher was filled with sand particle size(0.60~0.42mm) in three reactors with different section area(A)/height(H), in the state BOD loading 4.5kg-$BOD_5/m^3$ㆍd, and under the fixed state of hydraulic retention time for around 32 minutes.

가압유동층연소로에서 석탄의 연소 및 배가스특성 연구 (A Study on Combustion & Flue Gas Characteristics of Coal at Pressurized Fluidized Bed Combustor)

  • The characteristics of combustion and of emissions in pressurized fluidized bed combustor are investigated. The pressure of the combustor is fixed at 6 atm, and the combustion temperatures are set to 850, 900, and $950^{\circ}C$. The gas velocities are 0.9, 1.1, and 1.3 m/s. The excess air ratio is varied from 5 to 35%. The coal used in the experiment is Shenhwa coal in China. All experiments are executed at 2m bed height. Consequently, NOx & $N_2O$ concentration in the flue gas is increased with incresing excess air ratio but $SO_2$ concentration is decreased with incresing excess air ratio. CO concentration is maintained below 100ppm at over 15% of excess air ratio.

  • This paper presents the heat recovery performance of water fluidized-bed heat exchanger. Temperature and humidity ratio of waste gas are considered as important parameters in this study. Therefore, the heat recovery rate through water fluidized-bed heat exchanger for exhaust gases with various temperatures and humidity ratios can be estimated from the results of this study. Mass flow ratio (the ratio of mass flow rate of water to that of gas) and temperature of inlet water are also considered as important operating variables. Increase of heat recovery rate can be obtained through either high mass flow ratio or low temperature of inlet water with resultant low recovered temperature. The heat recovery performance with the mass flow ratio of about up to 10 has been investigated. The effect of number of stages of water fluidized-bed on the heat recovery performance has been also examined in this study.

유동층 연소로의 스케일-업을 위한 유동층 내 연료농도분포 해석 (Analysis on the fuel concentration distribution in a fluidized bed for the scale-up of a FBC)

  • A numerical investigation of the fuel concentration field in a fluidized bed has been carried out for the scale-up of a fluidized bed combustor (FBC). A two-dimensional transient model is developed using the two-phase fluidization, a simple chemical reaction, and lateral solid mixing theories. The uniformity of fuel concentration distributions is controlled by the location and the number of fuel feeders, fluidizing velocities and the bed-heights. While larger bubbles owing to greater fluidizing velocities enhance the fuel-dispersion in the bed, they have adverse effects on fuel combustion and thus result in the increase of fuel concentration, since a greater bubble means a larger bypass which reduces gas-exchange rates between bubble and emulsion phases. Average or maximum values of the bed fuel concentration are utilized as criteria for the scale-up from a pilot/lab-scale to a commercial-size bed.

  • 유동층가스화기는 경제적으로 기술적으로 입증된 기술로서 가장 상용화에 가까운 가능성을 보여주고 있다. 그러나 한국에서는 설계, 현장문제 해결뿐 아니라 파일럿 규모의 설비 운전 등이 부족하여 상용화에 이르지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 바이오매스의 가스화를 위하여 3 MWth 급 순환유동층(CFB) 반응기를 개발하여 운전하였다. 유동층반응기는 순환유동층 반응기와 기포유동층 반응기로 구성되었으며 타르와 산성가스를 제거하기 위하여 세라믹필터, 급속냉각, 습식스크러버를 사용하였다. 3MWth 급 바이오매스 가스화기의 최적 운전조건을 도출하기 위하여 equivalence ratio에 따른 영향을 조사하였다
