고속철도 디스크 브레이크의 유연 패드 개발에 대한 연구 (Study on Development of Flexible Pad for High Speed Train Disk Brake)

  • 본 논문은 고속철도 디스크 브레이크용 유연 제동 패드의 성능 향상을 위해 구조적 안정성 검토와 신뢰성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 연구에서는 유연패드의 구조 해석 과정을 거쳐 개선된 모델을 얻어내었으며, 실제 크기와 동일한 1/2 모델을 가지고 구조적 안전성을 확인하였다. 또한, 축소 시편을 제작하여 모달 시험과 스트로크 및 내구성 시험을 수행하여 동 특성과 기계적 안정성을 확인하였다. 샤시 다이나모 장비와 열 적외선 캠코더를 이용하여 유연패드에 대하여 회전 속도에 따른 열섬 발생 현상을 측정하고, 디스크와 패드 사이의 균일한 접촉 능력을 확인하였다. 또한, 제동 시 유연패드에 안정적인 온도 분포가 이루어지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과를 토대로 제안된 유연패드의 구조 안정성 및 열에너지 방출 효과 등의 장점을 확인하였다.

  • Metallic sintered brake pads are often applied to Mid/High Speed Train due to its high strength and thermal characteristics. Because of its imbalance contact between discs and pads can greatly influence the life span, one sided wear, discs attack/crack and threat the safety of the train during operation. In this research, we analyzed pressure/temperature distribution between brake pads and disks. Analyzed data had been verified and modified to conduct further tests of Flexible brake pads with small/full-scale dynamo test. Flexible brake pads were installed to TTX train to conduct further tests to identify the differences between Rigid brake pads and Flexible brake pads. In result, Flexible brake pads showed outstanding disk thermal stability, one sided wear, noise and life of pad than rigid brake pad.

유한요소법을 이용한 가변스트레치공정 성형변수에 따른 성형오차 경향분석 (Tendency Analysis of Shape Error According to Forming Parameter in Flexible Stretch Forming Process Using Finite Element Method)

  • A shape error of the sheet metal product made by a flexible stretch forming process is occurred by a various forming parameters. A die used in the flexible stretch forming is composed of a punch array to obtain the various objective surfaces using only one die. But gaps between the punches induce the shape error and the defect such as a scratch. Forming parameters of the punch size and the elastic pad to prevent the surface defect must be considered in the flexible die design process. In this study, tendency analysis of shape error according to the forming parameters in the flexible stretch process is conducted using a finite element method. Three forming parameters, which are the punch size, the objective curvature radius and the elastic pad thickness, are considered. Finite element modeling using the punch height calculation algorithm and the evaluation method of the shape error, which is a representative value for the formability of formed surface, are proposed. Consequently, the shape error is in proportion to the punch size and is out of proportion to the objective curvature radius and the elastic pad thickness.

가변금형의 박판 성형공정 적용 연구 (Study on Application of Flexible Die to Sheet Metal Forming Process)

  • Flexible forming process for sheet material using reconfigurable die is introduced based on numerical simulation. In general, this flexible forming process using the reconfigurable die has been utilized for manufacturing of curved thick plates used for hull structures, architectural structures and so on. In this study, numerical simulation of sheet metal forming process is carried out by using flexible dies model instead of conventional matched die set. The numerical simulation and experimental verification for sheet metal forming process using a flexible forming machine that is more suitable for thick plate forming process are carried out to confirm the appropriateness of the simulation process. As an elastic cushion, urethane pads are utilized using hyperelastic material model in the simulation for smoothing the forming surface which is discrete due to characteristics of the flexile die. In the flexible forming process for sheet metal, effect of a blank holder is also investigated according to blank holding methods. Formability in view of occurrence of dimples is compared with regard to the various punch sizes. Consequently, it is confirmed that the flexible forming for sheet material using urethane pad has enough capability and feasibility for manufacturing of smoothly curved surface instead of conventional die forming method.

고속 회전 유연 디스크의 진동 저감용 공기 베어링 해석 (Numerical Simulations for Suppressing Transverse Vibration of a very Flexible Rotating Disk using Air Bearing Concept)

  • Rotating disks are used in various machines such as data storage device, gyroscope, circular saw, etc. Transverse vibration of a rotating disk is very important for the performance of these machines. This work proposes a method to suppress transverse vibration of a very flexible rotating disk in non-contacting manner. A system considered in this study is a very flexible rotating disk with a thrust bearing pad which is located underneath the rotating disk. The pressure force generated in the gap between the rotating disk and the thrust pad pushes the rotating disk in the direction of axis of rotation while the centrifugal force and the elastic recovery force push the rotating disk in reverse direction. The balance between these forces suppresses the transverse vibration of the rotating disk. A coupled disk-fluid system is analyzed numerically. The finite element method is used to compute the pressure distribution between the thrust pad and the rotating disk while the finite difference method is used to compute the transverse vibration of a rotating disk. Results show that the transverse vibration of the rotating disk can be suppressed effectively for certain combination of air bearing and operating parameters.

3D 프린팅 기술을 활용한 낙상충격 보호패드 구조설계 및 필라멘트 소재에 따른 특성 비교 (Structure Design of Fall Impact Protection Pad Using 3D Printing Technology and Comparison of Characteristics According to Filament Material)

  • This study uses 3D printing technology to design and fabricate a fall impact protection pad with a spacer fabric structure. The design of the pads consists of hexagonal three-dimensional units connected in a honey-comb shape; in addition, the unit consists of a surface layer and a spacer layer. Protect pads were designed as either a hexagonal type or diamond type according to the surface layer structure; subsequently, a spacer filament was also designed as the most basic I-shape type. Designed pads were printed using four types of flexible filaments to select suitable material for a fall impact protection pad. Impact protection performance and bending stiffness were evaluated for the eight type of pad outputs. As a result of the impact protection performance evaluation, when the force of 6,500N was applied, the force passed through the pad was in the range of 1,370-2,132N. FlexSolid$^{(R)}$ and Skinflex$^{TM}$ showed good protection performance and cubicon flexible filament showed the lowest protection. NinjaFlex$^{(R)}$ was found to be the most flexible in the bending stiffness evaluation.

  • 가변성형공정에서는 형상 변형이 가능한 가변금형의 성형면을 고르게 형성하기 위하여 일반적으로 우레탄, 고무 등 같은 탄성체 패드를 가변금형과 소재 사이에 삽입하여 이용한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이러한 탄성패드가 성형성에 미치는 영향에 대한 조사를 위하여 탄성체의 경도 및 두께를 주요 변수로 고려한 수치해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 탄성패드 소재로는 우레탄을 이용하였으며, 이의 물성 획득을 위한 압축시험을 수행하였고, 초탄성체 재료 모델로 가정하여 가변성형공정해석에 적용하였다. 탄성체의 경도와 두께의 변화에 따른 해석 결과로부터 성형 정확도를 조사하기 위하여 주방향의 단면형상을 비교하였으며, 목적형상에 대한 오차를 비교하였다. 이로부터 가변성형공정에 이용되는 탄성 패드가 적절히 선정되어야 함을 확인하였으며, 패드의 경도 및 두께 선정에 대한 기준을 제안하였다.

유연다물체동적해석을 이용한 무도상교량 침목패드의 최적 강성 산정 (Optimum Stiffness of the Sleeper Pad on an Open-Deck Steel Railway Bridge using Flexible Multibody Dynamic Analysis)

  • 레일장대화는 무도상교량의 소음, 진동, 충격 등의 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 경제적인 방안 중 하나이며, 최근 연동식 침목고정장치를 이용한 SSF 공법이 개발된 바 있다. 이 연구에서는 연동식 침목고정장치 적용 시 레일 높이 조정 및 열차 통과 시의 충격 흡수를 목적으로 교량침목 하부에 삽입되는 침목패드의 최적 연직강성을 결정하는 과정을 제시하였다. 침목패드의 최적 연직강성 결정을 위하여 관련 기존 기준을 검토하였으며, 유연다물체동적해석을 통하여 침목패드의 연직강성 변화에 따른 주행안전성, 승차감 및 궤도의 안전성에 대한 지표들과 교량 응답 변화를 검토하였다. 유연다물체동적해석은 상용프로그램인 ABAQUS와 VI-Rail을 이용하여 수행하였다. 수치해석은 30m 상로판형교에 대한 교량모델을 이용하여 수행하였으며, 침목패드의 연직강성이 7.5kN/mm ~ 240kN/mm로 변화할 때 ITX 새마을, KTX 및 화차 통과 시의 응답을 산정하였다. 수치해석에 적용된 궤도구성품 조건에서 침목패드의 최적 강성은 100kN/mm로 산정되었다.
