Dynamic Modeling of a Satellite with Solar Array Flexible Modes (태양전지판의 유연 모드를 고려한 위성의 동적 모델링)

  • The efficient dynamic modeling of a satellite with flexible solar arrays is established by using the component mode synthesis technique. A flexible satellite model can be defined as the assembly of two sub-structures, central body and solar array. The reduced models of each substructure, which are expressed in each local frame, are coupled with respect to the satellite reference frame. The dynamic modeling method is applied to the numerical example of a satellite with a single solar array, and is verified by investigating the transfer function results with considering the solar array rotation.

  • The contact pressure distribution between a rubber wiper blade and a glass windshield is a major factor for wiping performance. A modeling and simulation method has been developed to forecast the contact pressure distribution on a wiper blade. For modeling multi-body dynamics of an wiper linkage system and flexible nature of wiper blade, ADAMS and ADAMS/flex are employed. A simulation study has been also conducted to obtain contact pressure distribution. Comparison between simulation and measurement is provided to ensure fidelity of the model and the simulation method.

  • A fuzzy control strategy is described which is utilized to control the joint angle and tip deflection in single flexible manipulator. In this paper, an existing model for a single flexible manipulator is used f3r the initial development of an FLC. One FLC is designed to govern the joint angle of the manipulator as it is rotated from one position to another, and a second FLC is designed to attenuate the tip deflection which result from joint angle body motion.   • Recently washing machines are to be in lower vibration and lower sound because of better environment. Vibration problems in washing machines occur in both washing mode and spinning mode, but vibration in spinning mode becomes main problem because of its high rotating speed and continuity. Vibration while spinning is mainly due to rigid body motion of total washing system which includes suspending rods, washing bath, spinning bath, and gear sets. In this study, some researches were done in order to analyze the rigid body motion of washing system and flexible vibration of spinning bath. A basic mathematical model was established, and the effect of position of salt water and shape change of salt water case were considered. And the effect of lengths of suspending rods, attaching angles, vertical and horizontal position, stiffness of spring on the change of vibration were also considered. To identify the effect of salt water on vibration, some measurements were done. When salt water was positioned at upper part, the effect was most and this coincides with the tendency of simulation.

Development of a Computer Model of a Large-sized Truck Considering the Frame as a Flexible Body (프레임을 유연체로 고려한 대형트럭 컴퓨터 모델의 개발)

  • This paper develops a computer model for estimating the handling of a cabover type large-sized truck. The truck is composed of front and rear suspension systems, a frame, a cab, and ten tires. The computer model is developed using ADAMS. A shock absorber, a rubber bush, and a leaf spring aunt a lot on the dynamic characteristic of the vehicle. Their stiffness and damping coefficient are measured and used as input data of the computer model. Leaf springs in the front and rear suspension systems are modeled by dividing them three links and joining them with joints. To improve the reliability of the developed computer model, the frame is considered as a flexible body. Thus, the frame is modeled by finite elements using MSC/PATRAN. A mode analysis is performed with the frame model using MSC/NASTRAN in order to link the frame model to the computer model. To verify the reliability of the developed computer model, a double lane change test is performed with an actual vehicle. In the double lane change, lateral acceleration, yaw rate, and roll angle are measured. Those test results are compared with the simulation results.

  • Moving flexible structures such as transfer systems in press machine, crane, working table of machine tools have vibration problems because of starting, feeding and stopping. An analysis method is suggested and experimentally studied in order to solve a vibration problem of a moving flexible structure. In this method, the concepts of substructure synthesis method and semi-static displacement including rigid body mode were used. Total deformation of a structure was assumed to be composed of quasi-static and dynamic components. Experimental results from an elementary model of a transfer feeder showed good agreements with computational results.

  • Driving dynamic characteristics of semi-trailer loaded with precise equipments are very important to protect them from vibration, impact or other disturbances. In this paper, in order to identify the driving dynamic characteristics of the large scale semi-trailer equipped with swivel axle and hydropneumatic suspension unit, Dynamics Modeling & Simulation(M&S) were performed using general Dynamics Analysis Program(RecurDyn V9R2). The semi-trailer was modeled as two types - one is Multi Rigid Body Dynamics(MRBD) model, and the other Rigid-Flexible Body Dynamics(RFlex) one. The natural vibration mode and frequencies of semi-trailer body, acceleration of dummy-weight, pitch, roll and yaw of dummy-weight, swivel axle and hydropneumatic suspension cylinder support structure, and acting force of hydropneumatic suspensions etc. were obtained from the M&S. Additionally frequency analysis were performed using the data of behavior obtained from above M&S. Generally the quantitative results of RFlex are larger than them of MRBD in view of magnitude of the comparable parametric values.

  • This paper is to study vibration effects of the dynamic vibration absorber. Multi-body dynamic analysis is carried out for the vehicle driveline model using ADAMS with flexible propeller shaft attached with the vibration damper. Primary bending mode frequency of the propeller shaft is obtained from the simulation and coincides with the experimental result. Various design parameters are studied in dynamic simulation operated by the engine torque input. This paper identifies the responses of dynamic vibration absorbers in the driveline with propeller shaft, which will be used to find out optimal design parameters.
