  • The forest area of domestic is 6370304 ha, which covers 70% of the whole country, and especially Gangwon-do is remarkably larger than other Province. A thick forest of the country has the most basic component among other natural environments as well as it has invaluable worth to human being such as scientific research and educational value. However due to the breakout of forest fire since 1990s, the loss of trees, destruction of natural environment and ecology, economic damage have been occurring and its scale also has become larger. The causes of becoming larger in scale are resulted from forest components which mainly consist of needle leaf trees, wide leaf trees, fallen leaves, herbaceous plants so that it has been a direct cause for forest fire. However, few research on combustion and pyrolysis characteristics has been done in domestic and abroad. The study on the combustion and pyrolysis for Pinus densiflora which are typical needle leaf trees has been tried using TGA. Pinus desiflora started to being ignited at around $162^{\circ}C$ and pyrolysis was done at around $197^{\circ}C$. Differential method was applied to calculate activation energy and frequency factor according to the variation of conversion. Activation energy in pyrolysis was increased from 79 kJ/mol to 487 kJ/mol with increasing conversion and average activation energy was 195 kJ/mol. The activation energy in combustion was decreased from 148 kJ/mol to 133 kJ/mol.

  • As a basic information to implement the fire plan that dominates multiple targets effectively under the battle environment with limited resources, such a process is mandatory that gives a priority order to a target with the high level of threat by quantitatively computing the threat level of an individual target through the analysis on the target. However, the study has still remained in the initial level on an evaluation algorithm for the threat level of the ground target. Considering this fact, the present paper proposes the evaluation algorithm for the threat by multiple ground targets. The proposed algorithm has a core point to consider the type of target and protected asset to implement the computation of proximity; set the additional value based on the weights indicating the significance of weapon and protected asset; and compute the threat level of a target that considers the characteristics of the target. The evaluation and verification of performances have been implemented through the simulation and visualization of an algorithm proposed in the present paper. From the performance result, as the proposed algorithm has been able to perform effectively the threat assessment according to the weights indicating the significance of weapons and protected assets under diverse environments where weapons and protected assets are located, high utility and effect are expected when applied to an actual ground weapon system.

  • This study analyzed the appropriateness of the spatial distribution of fire stations and emergency medical facilities, the main providers of emergency medical care, in Busan. The area over which the 119 emergency medical services were situated in relation to the dispatch and transport of urgent rescue services was examined. Addresses of patients requiring 119 emergency services were obtained and stored as individual units so that they could be analyzed in a Geographic Information System(GIS). The time taken by emergency services to reach patients and transport them to a hospital or other facility was measured in seconds. By inputting additional information such as the location of the 119 dispatch centers, jurisdictions, and emergency medical facilities, the GIS allowed for analyses not only of the temporal but also the spatial aspects of emergency medical services. The results showed that of 16 Gu/Gun and 226 Eup/Myen/Dong in the Busan area, only 41% of Busan's emergency medical services could respond to and transport patients within five minutes. In all districts, most emergency medical services were provided within five to ten minutes. However, the pattern of hospital use to transfer patients to hospitals was inefficient. Based on the temporal and spatial distributions of fire stations and emergency medical agencies, and on their dispatch and transport times, this study sets out and compares ideal dispatch and transportation patterns for the efficient use of Busan's emergency medical services and resources.

  • An Active Electronically Scanned Array(AESA) radar required necessarily as the Fire Control Radar(FCR) of recent fighters has ununiform detection range with regard to scan angle due to scan loss. Although the compensation method of scan loss in an AESA radar with variable dwell time is investigated, the effectiveness of the method in a fighter FCR with multi-function such as search, track, and missile guidance within limited resources should be considered systematically. In this paper, uniform search performance of an AESA radar using variable dwell time with regard to scan angle is derived. We assumed the search load of 50 % for case without changing dwell time in fixed frame time and showed the fighter FCR requirement for multi-function is not satisfied because the search load for the uniform search performance should be increased by about 100 %. On the other hand, in case of increasing the frame time for the uniform search performance and search load of 50 %, degradation of the search performance is shown by 86.7 % compared with the former. Based on these analyses, the effective beam operation strategy on an airborne AESA radar with uniform search performance in whole scan area is described with consideration of frame time, search load and performance as a whole.

  • According to Li Sizhen, Drinking a little makes heart health, spirit active and let be relieved of fatique. Also it hastens gastroenteric digestion. In result, the appetite is stimulated. So Good-wine is useful for well-being necessary to treat a disease much more. However if drink to excess, it will cause mental disorder, exhansted blood, Impairment of stomach. As a consequence of that. Essence of life is exhausted too. So phlegm forms, Fire is more active easily. [In compendium of Materica Medica], 120 classes of counteracting Alcohol Drugs find room in it. Like this, an abundance of data and investigation about Counteracting Alcohol Drugs provides to us a large of Medical materials, and is a guide in Developing and Using the herbal resources. [Lei Gong's Nature of drugs in Songs] says 'Wine have a effect that get out Extravasated Qi and get rid of Pathogen, Abdominal mass with distension and pain.< As it says, ancient doctors displayed remedical Value that promote Qi and Blood circulation as a power of wine. But others says, 'To drink a wine as a drinking water makes us so intemperate, lets us be so being unreasonable easily as to drink hard and hurt our body. (1)Drink with nutritive appetizer. (2) Drink with sitting down. (3)Drink slowly. (4)Do not drink a differ on wine that is not true who makes. (5)Go easy on the alcohol. If drink with this position. Never drink hard for hurting body. Therefore, Cao Tingdong lived in the qing dynasty says "A preventing as a medicine is not so good as a preventing as a temperate living and meal."

  • It becomes a more and more common practice to build facilities bigger and more integrated in an effort to optimize the process within limited resources and spaces. As the capacity of facilities increases, so does the flow rate and pressure. This in turn leads to a high consequence of accident. Not only are these facilities vulnerable to leakage because of their high pressure, but also subsequent fire and explosion can be threatening. For these reasons, there is an urgent need to come up with solutions to assess and minimize the damage from an accident. The Quantitative Risk Assessment(QRA) is one of the most efficient ways to solve problems on pressurized pipelines. The QRA can be re-enforced by applying reduction factors. In this study various types of accidents in a pressurized pipeline were evaluated. The damage from accidents were computed, then. Finally the reduction factors were very effective to decrease consequences of high pressure pipeline accidents.

  • In this study, two different technologies which can measure temperature simultaneously at many points are introduced. One is to use a thermal sensor cable that is comprised of addressable thermal sensors connected in parallel within a single cable. The other is to use an optic fiber with Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system. The difference between two technologies can be summarized as follows. A thermal sensor cable has a concept of 'point sensing' that can measure temperature at accurate position of a thermal sensor. So the accuracy and resolution of temperature measurement are up to the ability of the thermal sensor. Whereas optic fiber sensor has a concept of 'distributed sensing' because temperature is measured by ratio of Stokes and anti-Stokes component intensities of Raman backscatter that is generated when laser pulse travels along an optic fiber. It's resolution is determined by measuring distance, measuring time and spatial resolution. The purpose of this study is that application targets of two temperature measurement techniques are checked in technical and economical phases by examining the strength and weakness of them. Considering the functions and characteristics of two techniques, the thermal sensor cable will be suitable to apply to the assessment of groundwater flow, geothermal distribution and grouting efficiency within 300m distance. It is expected that the optic fiber sensor can be widely utilized at various fields (for example: pipe line inspection, tunnel fire detection, power line monitoring etc.) which need an information of temperature distribution over relatively long distance.

  • The Gagok mine is a contact metasomatic deposit, located at Gagok-myeon, Samcheok city and Cheoram-dong, Taebaek city, Gangwon province. The deposit lies within the limestone of Myobong and Pungchon formations, and exists the contact of intrusive granite porphyry. In order to determine the direction and extension of mineralization in the gallery and around the entrance of the ore deposit, we used the ground magnetic survey, the direct current (dc) resistivity survey using dipole-dipole array, and resistivity tomography survey. The ground magnetic survey did not detect the anomalous zone due to ore deposit, while the dc resistivity survey and resistivity tomography survey were successful in delineating the anomalous zone related to the extension of fault toward $N50^{\circ}W$.
